<p style="font-weight: 400;">Two people were <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/2-shot-1-dead-university-mexico-albuquerque-suspect/story?id=124066683">shot</a>, one of whom died, at a student housing complex at the University of New Mexico on its main campus in Albuquerque on Friday morning. The college has roughly 23,000 students on its flagship campus and is the largest university in the state.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Local police believe the suspect could still be on campus, <span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><a href="https://www.koat.com/article/shooting-incident-unm-campus-albuquerque-police-investigation/65508450" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to KOAT</a></span>. The university closed its campus and instructed those still on campus to shelter in place.</p>

Responding officers discovered two individuals had been shot. One victim is deceased, and the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect remains at large and may still be on campus.</em></p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">The university sent out an alert on its <a href="https://www.unm.edu/">website</a>, stating, “Central campus remains CLOSED. Police are conducting sweep in search of shooting suspect. If on campus, continue to SHELTER IN PLACE.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The university comprises twelve colleges and schools, including the state&#8217;s only law school. According to its <a href="https://www.americancampus.com/student-apartments/nm/albuquerque/casas-del-rio#faq">website</a>, Casas del Rio is in the center of the campus and managed by American Campus Communities.</p>
