<p>Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) warned this week that President Joe Biden&#8217;s plan to &#8220;reform&#8221; the U.S. Supreme Court was code for his intent to &#8220;destroy&#8221; the court because it is the one major government institution that the political Left does not currently control.</p>
<p>Cruz made the remarks during his most recent episode of &#8220;Verdict&#8221; with co-host Ben Ferguson while talking about Biden&#8217;s Oval Office address on Wednesday evening.</p>
<p>In his speech, Biden, 81, said that for the remainder of his time in office, he would &#8220;call for Supreme Court reform because this is critical to our democracy—Supreme Court reform.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cruz responded to Biden&#8217;s remarks by saying: &#8220;Well, and understand by the word reform, he means destroy the Supreme Court. What he wants to do is utterly politicize it.&#8221;</p>
<p>He said that when former President Franklin D. Roosevelt had supermajorities in both chambers of Congress and pushed to pack the court with leftist judges, even the Democrats of the day stopped him because they understood that the Supreme Court should be independent and &#8220;focused on the Constitution and upholding the rule of law&#8221; because &#8220;it is critical to our liberty of this country.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;And so, the Democrats, his own party told FDR &#8216;no&#8217;,&#8221; he said. &#8220;What has changed? There are no Democrats willing to stand up to the radicals now.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;If Kamala Harris, is the President, God forbid, and if Democrats win the House, and if they gain just one seat in the Senate, they have right now 51 Democrats, if they gain one seat, they will have the votes to end the filibuster,&#8221; he continued. “And so, if you end the filibuster, they can do it with just 50 votes in the Senate. They will do that because the Supreme Court is the one institution of government they do not control right now, and they&#8217;re willing to burn it to the ground. This is a radical agenda. And it&#8217;s who Biden and Harris are.”</p>
