Paris Hilton slammed the “cruel and hateful” comments she read, hitting back at critics mocking the size of her infant son’s head after she posted a picture on social media of her holding him.
The 42-year-old socialite admitted that “living life in the spotlight” means “inevitable” comments, but wrote that “targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter, is unacceptable.”
“This hurts my heart more than words can describe,” Hilton wrote on her Instagram Story. “I’ve worked hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect the same in return. If I don’t post my baby, people assume I’m not a great mother and if I do post him, there are some people who are cruel and hateful.”
“I’m a proud working mom and my baby is perfectly healthy, adorable and angelic,” she added, noting how she has dreamed about becoming a mom “for as long as I can remember.”

“Phoenix is my world and has been the biggest blessing of my life,” the entrepreneur continued. “Every day with him is a reminder of what truly matters. It’s hard to fathom that there are such people in the world who would target such innocence. I hope that people can treat one another with more kindness and empathy.”
In the original Instagram post, Hilton shared a few pictures from her recent trip to New York City with her little boy. In the photo, Paris is holding her son on her lap and beaming. She captioned the post, “My precious angel baby Phoenix’s first time in NYC.”
In January 2023, Paris shocked everyone when she posted a photo on her Instagram showing her hand holding a smaller hand announcing that she and husband Carter Reum had welcomed their first child via a surrogate after tying the knot in 2021. The socialite captioned her post, “You are already loved beyond words.”

“It’s always been my dream to be a mother and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other,” Hilton previously told People magazine. “We are so excited to start our family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy.”
In an interview last fall, Paris’ mom, Kathy Hilton, told E! News that her daughter was “trying and trying” to get pregnant, but hadn’t been successful so far, noting how it “breaks” her heart seeing what Paris was going through.
