Country music recording artist Hardy explained why he decided to check into a hospital and postpone some of his upcoming tour dates.

The 33-year-old singer shared an update via Instagram on Tuesday.

“I need to be honest with everyone for a second,” Hardy, whose full name is Michael Hardy, shared with fans. “I’ve been dealing with some serious anxiety since the bus accident last year, and over the last two weeks it has taken control of my life.”

“It’s caused me to suffer many panic attacks, which have landed me in the hospital,” he continued. “I need a moment to focus on me and to make myself better for my wife, family and you, the fans.”

Hardy wrote that he “need(s) to cancel the two the mockingbird & THE CROW Fall Tour shows on Oct. 5th and 7th,” which were scheduled in Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Brandon, Mississippi.

The singer said the tickets purchased for those two dates will be refunded. He also said tickets for the Georgia Rodeo show initially scheduled for October 6 would be valid on the rescheduled date, which is April 12, 2024.

The “Wait in the Truck” singer continued, writing, “My plan is to be back and focused on Oct. 12,” referencing a scheduled show for that day in Jonesboro, Arkansas. “Thank you for understanding, see you soon,” he concluded.

Hardy has written songs for Florida Georgia Line, Chris Lane, Blake Shelton, Dallas Smith, Thomas Rhett, and Morgan Wallen, plus launched a successful solo career. Two of his most popular singles include “Give Heaven Some Hell” and “One Beer.”

In an Instagram post on October 2, 2022, he shared that his tour bus was involved in an accident on the way back from Bristol, Tennessee, after a show. He wrote at the time that four passengers “were all treated for significant injuries,” and the bus driver was in the hospital.

The singer also posted a photo on his Instagram Story with then-fiancée, now wife, Caleigh Ryan. “Thank you for all the texts and calls. I’m alive and that’s all that matters,” he wrote at the time. “I love you all.”
