Chrissy Teigen, John Legend Go Dark On Scandal, Pressure Mounts For Companies To Drop Model

"Rather than answer the question as to why they are allowing child predator Chrissy Teigen a platform, [Vrbo] is limiting their comments on Instagram."

Liberal activist Chrissy Teigen has not posted to her social media accounts in days after it was revealed that the model harassed and allegedly sent private death threats to a then-16-year-old girl named Courtney Stodden.

Teigen’s last tweets were issued on Wednesday, publicly acknowledging her disturbing behavior and apologizing to Stodden. The apology, though, was not well-received by Stodden, who claimed it felt Teigen was just trying to protect her brand. Stodden also refuted Teigen’s claim that she tried to privately reach out to her; Stodden emphasized her assertions by posting a screenshot showing that Teigen has blocked her on Twitter.

Notably, liberal activist and musician John Legend, who is married to Teigen, has gone dark on the scandal, too. He’s yet to defend his wife or address the controversy at all.

Target and reportedly Macy’s have dropped Teigen’s cookware line from their stores.

And now there is pressure mounting against Vrbo, which has a relationship with Teigen and her husband, to drop their support.

Vrbo on Tuesday, right before the scandal hit, announced their partnership with the “Legend-Teigens”:

“Everybody went through such a tough time in 2020, and we see the light at the end of the tunnel… and we’re working with Vrbo to celebrate.” We’re thrilled to welcome our first-ever Family in Residence, the Legend-Teigens, who are helping us bring as much joy and togetherness as we can to families and loved ones. Stay tuned for what’s to come – you’re gonna love it! 💙 #Vrbo @JohnLegend@ChrissyTeigen

The company’s posts were quickly inundated with comments from Instagram users’ disapproval of the couple as spokespeople for the brand. Here are some examples:

Have you cut ties with Chrissy Teigen yet? We’re watching you

I will not support a company that does business with Chrissy Teigen

Remove Chrissy Teigen.

Your silence on [Chrissy Teigen] says everything. Would you like to denounce her behavior, or should we just continue to wait?

Shame on this company for still working with Chrissy Teigen

sadly going to have to use your competitors now when booking our next vacation. What a shame your company chooses to endorse such a hateful person like Chrissy Teigen.

Daily Wire host Candace Owens has called attention to the partnership online and blasted Vrbo for limiting their comments on Instagram.

When The Daily Wire attempted to comment on the company’s posts, we were unable to.

“Rather than answer the question as to why they are allowing child predator Chrissy Teigen a platform, [Vrbo] is limiting their comments on Instagram. This corporate partnership is unacceptable,” Owens blasted.

Last week, The Daily Wire reported on Teigen’s alleged behavior toward Stodden:

When Courtney Stodden was just 16 years old, Teigen sent the minor numerous nasty messages online that included a “fantasy” of Stodden taking a “dirt nap.”

Stodden, whose mother troublingly signed off on her then-teen daughter’s marriage to a 50-year-old actor, told The Daily Beast that Teigen even sent her death threats via direct message.

“[Teigen] wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself,” Stodden said. “Things like, ‘I can’t wait for you to die.’”

The DM’ed death threats have yet to be substantiated, but The Daily Beat posted screenshots of Teigen’s now-deleted nasty messages to the teen online. Here are some of the highlights:

“@CourtneyStodden My Friday fantasy: you. dirt nap. mmmmmm baby.”

Retweeting Stodden, Teigen posted: “Go. to sleep. forever.”

“@CourtneyStodden what drug makes you do that with your mouth? asking for a friend who really wants to look like an idiot. thanks.”

“@CourtneyStodden do you have a family.”

“@CourtneyStodden I hate you.”

Retweeting Stodden, Teigen posted: “Why do you speak like a Fabio book?”
