Comedian Adam Corolla is partnering with The Daily Wire to put out a series of comedy shows beginning with the first episode on Friday, November 26.

The new series is called “Adam Carolla: Truth Yeller.” The show’s description reads:

Comedians used to be society’s truth-tellers. Pointing out life’s absurdities, regardless of whose feelings might be slightly offended. In a world of microaggressions, pearl-clutching and faux outrage, Adam Carolla has had to take truth-telling to another level. Truth Yeller gives you a little stand-up, a little interview, a little improv, and a lot of laughs — all through the lens of one of the most important voices in America: the voice of a comedian.

The Daily Wire first announced its partnership with Carolla on October 12 during an episode of Backstage streamed live from the Ryman Theater in Nashville, Tennessee. Carolla joined The Daily Wire’s co-founder and co-CEO Jeremy Boreing and co-founder and editor emeritus Ben Shapiro on stage for the announcement.

“We are going to call it ‘Adam Carolla: Truth Yeller’ because I tend to get fired up on stage,” Carolla said. The show itself will consist of three segments: a standup routine by Carolla, an interview segment with his guest, and an improv segment where Carolla comes up with a set based on a single word submitted by members of the audience.

A teaser for the series dropped on Wednesday, giving viewers an early preview of Carolla’s first show with his guest, Jay Leno. The clip shows Carolla introducing Leno as the 71-year-old television host walks on stage to perform a comedy set over COVID.

“I see Dr. Fauci every night on the news and he says the same thing, coronavirus is a war and we have to fight it like a war. And when you think about it, it’s the only war in history that when the war is over, all the soldiers are fatter,” Leno jokes.

Carolla is one of the few outspoken conservatives working in Hollywood. He is a blunt critic of progressive institutions and policies, especially since the outbreak of COVID-19 and the continued use of lockdowns and restrictive vaccine passports and mandates to attempt to control the disease.

In February, Carolla got into a back-and-forth with the United Teachers of Los Angeles, a union representing 35,000 educators, on Twitter over their refusal to return to classrooms after the release of COVID-19 vaccines. As The Daily Wire reported:

Over the weekend, comedian Adam Carolla and a union representing 35,000 Los Angeles-area school teachers traded barbs after Carolla suggested the teachers are either “cowards” or simply unwilling to work.

Carolla wrote, “LA teachers either don’t want to go back to work or are cowards. Those are the only two options left.”

The United Teachers of Los Angeles accused Carolla of preaching to them from a wealthy area, tweeting, “Teachers ARE working, @adamcarolla, but congrats on being spared on the devastation our communities face. The communities we serve have COVID-19 levels 15 times greater than those in your wealthy La Cañada neighborhood.”

The union added, “Who is the coward, the teachers who dare confront government officials and powerful business to fight for the health of their students and families, or you who sit safely in your La Cañada mansion criticizing what apparently you don’t even understand: Teachers ARE working.”

Carolla responded, “That’s untrue. I called them cowards from my mansion Malibu.”

One teacher prompted a further joke from Carolla by pronouncing, “As a proud public school teacher, I proudly place your books in the trash. I regret spending any of my salary on supporting you.”

Carolla replied, “I am now going to throw out my textbooks.”

He added, “Thanks for fighting for the health of the students. Keep up the good work.”
