Conservatives are launching the “first credit card built by conservatives for conservatives” in efforts to provide options for Americans unhappy with woke corporations and credit card companies.
Coign, the new VISA credit card, launched on Tuesday. Every time a Coign cardholder makes a purchase, that cardholder will earn cash back rewards, the new company said in a press release. From the merchant fee, Coign will also contribute to charities that support conservative values.
“Coign will let conservatives voice their priorities through charitable donations they get to pick, all while offering world class customer service, consumer protections, and cash back on every transaction,” Coign founder Rob Collins said in a statement.
“Too many corporations are investing their customers’ money in political and social priorities that align with their executives, the media, and the Left’s agenda,” he added. “For the first time, the Coign card will allow conservatives to ‘Spend Right’ no matter where they shop.”
In a press release, the company said that it is pushing back against “mainstream banks, credit card companies and corporations” pursuing far-left agendas that have not “invested or supported their conservative customers’ views.”
“Until now, conservatives have had few choices to protest these decisions and investments,” the press release continued. “The Coign card now offers conservative consumers a new way to support causes they care about through their everyday commerce.”
The move comes as conservatives increasingly look to create alternative options to woke corporations, businesses, and social media platforms, such as GETTR, former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social, and the global internet infrastructure company, RightForge.
Nicole Neily, president and founder of Parents Defending Education and president of Speech First, told The Daily Wire that Coign is a “terrific business model” and “one that’s overdue for conservatives.”
“The left has used programs like this for years, and it’s astonishing that it’s taken this long for the right to develop a corollary,” she said. “For nonprofits, it exposes them to new audiences – while for consumers, their money isn’t being weaponized against them as so many corporate social responsibility initiatives are these days.”
The Coign advisory board includes former Republican Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner, Canvass America President and Founder Chris Hansen, and former Special Assistant to the President for Innovation Policy and Initiatives Matt Lira.
“Coign cash back rewards are awarded in the form of a statement credit to pay off existing charges on customer account balances,” the press release said. “Coign will have the same protections and regulations and customer service expected of any credit card on the market. Cardholders will be able to vote for conservative causes and funds will be donated to the causes based upon the results of member voting.”
