Britney Spears’ highly-anticipated book, “The Woman in Me,” is set to hit bookshelves on October 24, 2023.

The 41-year-old pop singer’s tell-all memoir was picked up by publisher Gallery Books (an imprint of Simon & Schuster), People Magazine reported. A press release describes Spears’ book as “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.”

“Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,” said Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books Senior Vice President and Publisher. “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact — and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.”

The “Womanizer” hitmaker promises to reveal “for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,” the release added. And the publisher promised that the book “illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”

Spears later confirmed the news on social media in a video, giving fans a sneak peek of the book’s cover.

“It’s coming. My story. On my terms. At last,” the words across Spears’ video read. “Are you ready?”

In May, The Sun reported that Spears’ “brutally honest” memoir was on hold after the publisher received “strongly worded legal letters” from “A-listers” who know the entertainer.

The pop star reportedly worked on the memoir with ghostwriter Sam Lansky, a novelist and journalist who has written for Time, The Atlantic, and New York Magazine. It’s been described as a “groundbreaking instant best-seller” and “inspiring,” Page Six noted.

Spears first hinted that she might be working on a book in January 2022 when she posted a photo on Instagram of a typewriter and captioned it, “Shall I start from THE BEGINNING???”
