The man accused of breaking into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) home and attacking her husband with a hammer during the early morning hours on Friday is reportedly in the United States illegally.
Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported Monday afternoon: “Per ICE source, David DePape, the suspect accused of beating Paul Pelosi in his home with a hammer after breaking in, is currently in the U.S. illegally as a ‘longtime’ visa overstay.”

According to court documents, DePape told law enforcement that he broke into the home through a glass door using a hammer and that he found Paul Pelosi sleeping in bed and forced him to wake up.
DePape said that he was looking for Nancy Pelosi because he wanted to take her hostage and effectively interrogate her.
“If Nancy were to tell DEPAPE the ‘truth,’ he would let her go, and if she ‘lied,’ he was going to break ‘her kneecaps,'” court documents said. “DEPAPE was certain that Nancy would not have told the ‘truth.’ In the course of the interview, DEPAPE articulated he viewed Nancy as the ‘leader of the pack’ of lies told by the Democratic Party DEPAPE also later explained that by breaking Nancy’s kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into Congress, which would show other Members of Congress there were consequences to actions.”
DePape said that when the two men went downstairs, police arrived and knocked on the door and that Paul Pelosi “ran over and opened it,” according to court documents.
“Pelosi grabbed onto DEPAPE’s hammer, which was in DEPAPE’s hand,” the documents continued. “At this point in the interview, DEPAPE repeated that DEPAPE did not plan to surrender and that he would go ‘through’ Pelosi. DEPAPE stated that he pulled the hammer away from Pelosi and swung the hammer towards Pelosi. DEPAPE explained that Pelosi’s actions resulted in Pelosi ‘taking the punishment instead.'”
DePape, who was born in Canada, has been described as a troubled transient and nudist with extreme political views, and a woman who describes herself as his daughter said Friday he molested her and her brothers when they were children.
Inti Gonzalez, who said her mother met DePape when she was pregnant with her and then began a long relationship with him, wrote in a blogpost that DePape molested her and her brothers, who she said were DePape’s biological sons, the Daily Mail reported.
