Democratic politician Stacey Abrams has officially announced her candidacy in the 2022 Georgia gubernatorial race. Her campaign video states she decided to run because “opportunity in our state shouldn’t be determined by zip code, background or access to power.”
“Regardless of the pandemic or the storms, the obstacles in our way or the forces determined to divide us, my job has been to just put my head down and keep working toward one Georgia,” she says in her video. “Because in the end, we are one Georgia.”
I’m running for Governor because opportunity in our state shouldn’t be determined by zip code, background or access to power. #gapol

Abrams has spent the better part of the past four years insisting that she actually won Georgia’s governor’s race in 2018 after she lost to incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp. In 2019, The Daily Wire reported that Abrams told MSNBC, “I think the election was stolen from the people of Georgia,” Abrams said on Sunday while appearing on MSNBC’s “American Swamp.”
“I don’t know that empirically, I would have won,” she continued. “But if you add together the thousands of people who faced extraordinary long lines, who faced hurdles that should not happen in a democracy, the votes that we know were not counted, the secretary of state who was also my opponent in the race purged more than 1.4 million voters over basically an eight-year period.”
In October of this year, The Daily Wire reported that Abrams said she came from a state where she was not “entitled” to become governor, again hinting that the election was stolen from her.
“Just because you win doesn’t mean you won,” Abrams said while campaigning for McAuliffe. “We’ve got folks who are ready to take back what they think is theirs, but they are not entitled to our progress. They are not entitled to our justice. They are not entitled to our vote.”
“I come from a state where I was not entitled to become the governor, but as an American citizen and a citizen of Georgia, I’m going to fight for every person who has the right to vote to be able to cast that vote,” she continued.
On Twitter, in response to the announcement, Newsbusters Curtis Houck remarked on the uncanny ability that Democrats have to lie about political events and brush it off as if nothing happened.
“Love how Stacey Abrams was allowed to just lie and lie about the election being stolen from her by the liberal media simply because of the fact that she was *only* running for governor of Georgia and not President of the United States. These people….” he tweeted.

Abrams is heavily favored to win the Democratic gubernatorial primary in Georgia. On the Republican side of the ballot, Jonathan Garcia, Governor Brian Kemp, Kandiss Taylor, and Vernon Jones have announced their candidacy for the GOP nomination.
