Law enforcement officials in Canada have located one of the two suspects accused of a mass stabbing spree that left 10 dead and 18 injured over the weekend.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Saskatchewan said that officials discovered the deceased body of Damien Sanderson, 31, on Monday and that his cause of death did not appear to be self-inflicted.
Police are still searching for Damien Sanderson’s 30-year-old brother, Myles Sanderson, who may have been injured. Myles Sanderson is considered to be armed and dangerous.
“We do want the public to know this because there is a possibility he may seek medical attention,” said Rhonda Blackmore, commanding officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP. “Even if he is injured, it does not mean he is not still dangerous.”
“To the people of Saskatchewan and beyond, please be assured that we are using every human, investigational and technological resource we have available to locate and arrest the persons responsible for this tragedy and to ensure your safety,” Blackmore added.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Saskatchewan “continues to search for Myles Sanderson, who is 6 foot one inch and 240 pounds with black hair and brown eyes,” the agency said. “The public should take appropriate precautions. Do not approach suspicious persons and report any information to your local police and emergencies to 911.”

The 28 people that were attacked were spread across at least 13 different locations throughout the James Smith Cree Nation.
Myles Sanderson was considered to be “unlawfully at large” back in May when he stopped meeting with his assigned caseworker after he served five years in federal prison for assault, robbery, mischief and making threats, according to CBC, which added that once he was granted statutory release he “disappeared.”
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe responded to the attack by thanking police on Sunday for their efforts in trying to locate the suspects and by sending his condolences to the victims.
“I want to offer my deepest condolences on behalf of the government and people of Saskatchewan to all of the family and friends of the victims of today’s horrific attacks,” he said in a statement. “I also want to thank the RCMP and other police services for the efforts they are making to apprehend the attackers and protect the public, and thank all the first responders and health care professionals who are treating numerous victims.”
“There are no words to adequately describe the pain and loss caused by this senseless violence,” he added. “All of Saskatchewan grieves with the victims and their families.”
