According to the author of a new Kardashian family biography, Caitlyn Jenner, the celebrated recipient of the 2015 Glamour “Woman of the Year” Award, does not think being a woman is so glamorous, and is considering “de-transitioning” back to a man “in the next couple years.” Despite the author citing multiple sources, a representative for Jenner vehemently denies the claim.
“It hasn’t been easy for Caitlyn, it’s been very hard,” author Ian Halperin told The Wrap on Wednesday.
Halperin is the author of Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family, a 165-page exposé featuring the reality TV family’s secrets and controversies since the first season of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Halperin said that while researching the book he heard from multiple sources close the family that Caitlyn Jenner has been feeling miserable for months and is considering becoming Bruce again.
“One source confirmed to me Caitlyn has made whispers of ‘sex change regret,’ hinting she might go back to being Bruce Jenner,” Halperin said.
According to Halperin, the former Olympic athlete and Hollywood star was “thrilled” about the prospect of transitioning to a woman and championing transgender rights, but might de-transition because of apparently being still interested in females.
“She’s thrilled she has raised awareness about how transgender people have long been discriminated against but I think there’s a chance she’ll de-transition in the next couple years,” a friend of the family told Halperin. “I don’t think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle. It has been much harder than she anticipated. My heart goes out to her and I know her true friends will be there to support her on whatever path she chooses.”
“She’s still into women and wants to meet the right one,” a source had said, indicating the star preferred to remain in a heterosexual relationship, but with himself as the male partner.
Jenner’s representative is denying the claims, telling Gossip Cop that Halperin’s claim is the “dumbest statement of the day,” and later telling Fox News the claim was “not true” and that Halperin “is a moron.”
But The Wrap‘s Tim Kenneally notes Jenner had displayed public signs of regret for his transition during several past instances. After undergoing facial-feminization surgery last year, Jenner’s experience “during the first full day of recuperation” seemed to involve a load of regret, but Jenner claimed then to have gotten over it.
“She was undergoing something that had never happened before in 65 years of life: a panic attack,” a Vanity Fair feature story said of Jenner after the transition. “The panic attack lasted about 15 seconds, but a single thought continued to course through her mind: ‘What did I just do? What did I just do to myself?.”
