“Boy Meets World” star Danielle Fishel recalled a “creepy” interaction she had at a young age with an executive and other adults while she was on the show, saying looking back, she realizes how “absolutely wrong” it was.

Fishel talked about being sexualized as a teenager on the popular ABC 90s sitcom during a recent episode of the “Pod Meets World” podcast, Fox News reported.

“I had people tell me they had my 18th birthday on their calendar,” Fishel said. “I had a male executive — when I did a calendar [shoot] at 16 — and he specifically told me he had a certain calendar month in his bedroom.”

“At that time, although the first thought when I heard that was a little like, ‘Oh,'” she added. “The immediate thought after that was ‘Yes because we are peers, and this is acceptable… and this is how you relate to peers.'”

“As a kid, I always wanted to be older,” Fishel continued. “I always wanted to be an adult. I wanted to be seen as an adult. And so getting adult male attention as a teenage girl felt like — I didn’t think of it as being creepy or weird. But in a romantic, male-gaze sense, I should not have been outwardly talked about at 14, 15, 16 years old. And in hindsight, that is absolutely wrong.”

The “Girl Meets World” star said she struggled for years in relationships because that kind of attention left her “bad at boundaries” and with “absolutely no expectations of how you’re supposed to talk to me, of how you’re supposed to treat me.”

“It wasn’t until I was in my late 30s that I went, okay, I’ve had failed relationship after failed relationship, and I could easily point the finger and be like that’s because this guy was this, and this guy was this, but at the end of the day — I’m the one doing the selecting and I’m the one picking these people,” Fishel said.

“I didn’t really process how it affected me as a teenager — or how it affected me in my 20s or even in my 30s — up until the last few years,” she added.
