U2 Tells Ireland To Legalize Abortion

   DailyWire.com

The largely pro-life country of Ireland faces an important vote on May 25, where the formerly Catholic country will decide whether or not women have a right to kill their unborn children. The vote hinges on repealing the Eighth Amendment, which protects unborn babies’ right to life.

Fighting in the pro-choice corner will be the singer U2 frontman Bono and his fellow bandmates: Dave “Edge” Evans, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr., who all hail from Ireland.

Speaking with The Times, U2 agreed that the Eighth Amendment should be repealed.

“I think we have acknowledged that it’s a very emotive issue and I think that we acknowledged that there are strong feelings on both sides in Ireland. I am in favour of repealing, but I do understand why people might have a problem with that. The important thing is to vote,” Evans said.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the band asked Irish voters to repeal the pro-life law.

“It is huge and I know there is a huge divergence of opinion on it and I accept that and it is hard to take a stance without having to acknowledge there is another side to it but I am for it and I support repeal. It is the smart thing to do,” Evans told the Irish Mirror.

As noted by LifeNews, “given the band’s connections to American billionaire George Soros, the announcement does not come as much of a surprise.” Bono once described the global terrorist George Soros as “one of my great heroes.” As to Soros and his involvement in Ireland, LifeNews has more:

Soros has been using his fortune to influence the abortion vote in Ireland and other pro-life countries. Late last year, the Irish government said those donations were illegal; however, the main recipient of Soros’s money, Amnesty International Ireland, refused to give it back.

Soros is one of the richest men in the world. He has given hundreds of millions of dollars to pro-abortion groups, including Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.

The Irish government began asking questions of pro-abortion groups in 2016 after a leaked document from Soros’s Open Society Foundations revealed plans to push Ireland and other pro-life countries to legalize abortion on demand, the Catholic News Agency reported at the time.

The Abortion Rights Campaign, another Irish group that received €25,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations, agreed to return the donation.

Pro-life advocates have been working hard against a biased media and the huge, illegal donations from rich American businessmen who are intent on pushing Ireland to adopt abortion on demand. Pro-life volunteers have been knocking on doors across Ireland to save the Eighth Amendment and thousands of unborn babies’ lives.

Despite all of this, there is indeed good news. According to two polls, the pro-aborts are losing ground. Business Insider notes that 47% of Irish voters say they will vote to repeal; 28% will vote to retain the Eighth Amendment while another 20% are undecided.
