<p>Bob Saget&#8217;s head injuries were so severe that one doctor says the comedian may have fallen and hit his head twice before he was found dead in a Florida hotel last month at age 65, according to a new report.</p>
<p>Dr. Anthony Harris, chief medical director for HFit Heath, told <a href="https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/4722047/bob-saget-cause-death-head-injury-trauma-autopsy/">The Sun</a> newspaper that Saget likely suffered his extensive injuries falling in the bathroom.</p>
<p>&#8220;We know from the autopsy that he did have a fractured skull &#8212; and the severity in regards to the fracture of the skull is indicated by him having blood across both sides of his brain,&#8221; Harris told the U.K. paper. &#8220;That means you had a significant injury, not just to the skull but the brain itself, which will affect the actual function of the brain.&#8221;</p>
<p>The autopsy has raised questions, with one doctor who has reviewed the results saying his injuries &#8220;appeared consistent with taking a baseball bat to the skull,&#8221; according to a recent report.</p>
<p>Saget&#8217;s family summarized the findings of the autopsy after it was complete. “The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved,&#8221; the family said shortly after his January 9 death.</p>
<p>But the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10507929/Bob-Sagets-head-injury-severe-like-hed-hit-BASEBALL-BAT-says-doctor.html#:~:text=%27I%20think%20what,to%20the%20head.%27">reported</a> that the <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/something-doesnt-make-sense-experts-question-bob-sagets-autopsy-report/">autopsy report </a>&#8220;painted a grimmer picture about such injuries, noting that he fractured his skull in multiple places and sustained bleeding across both sides of his brain.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Health experts are now asking how thoroughly his death was investigated and what [could] have caused Saget such a &#8216;significant blow to the head,&#8217; which one doctor said appeared consistent with taking a baseball bat to the skull or falling 20 to 30 feet,&#8221; the Mail wrote.</p>
<p>The U.K. paper cited CNN&#8217;s chief medical reporter, Dr. Sanjay Gupta.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think what it reveals more than anything else is this was not a simple bump on the head,&#8221; Gupta said Friday on the &#8220;New Day&#8221; program. &#8220;When you read this autopsy report that may still be the case, but it was a pretty significant blow to the head.&#8221;</p>
<p>Dr. Harris said Saget&#8217;s injuries could have been sustained by falling twice, noting that the comedian also suffered fractures around both eye sockets.</p>
<p>&#8220;So thinking about the physics that would be involved,&#8221; Harris said, &#8220;it could be the case that Mr. Saget had two falls. For instance, he may have hit the front of his head, or slipped forward, causing fractures to the orbits of his skull.”</p>
<p>&#8220;Then the recoil of the impact of hitting his head may have caused him to fall backward, and then strike the back of his head on another object &#8211; let&#8217;s say a bathtub or the floor &#8211; which would cause dual brain trauma. That would account for both types of fractures that we&#8217;re seeing with Mr. Saget,&#8221; Harris said.</p>
