<p>Several airports in blue cities and states are refusing to broadcast a new video of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem blasting Democrats for causing air travel delays by perpetuating the government shutdown.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/department-of-homeland-security-thanks-snl-for-sketch-poking-fun-at-kristi-noem">Noem</a>, who oversees TSA, says in the video that it is the agency&#8217;s &#8220;top priority to make sure you have the most pleasant and efficient airport experience as possible while we keep you safe&#8221; before she went on to blame Democrats.</p>
<p>&#8220;However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government and because of this many of our operations are impacted and most of our TSA employees are working without pay,&#8221; Noem said.</p>
<p>&#8220;We will continue to do all that we can to avoid delays that will impact your travel. And our hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government,&#8221; she added.</p>
<p>Phoenix&#8217;s Sky Harbor International Airport, Oregon’s Portland International Airport, Washington’s Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and three airports in New York — Niagara Falls International Airport, Buffalo Niagara International Airport, and Westchester County Airport — have all dug in their heels and declined to air the advertisement, according to multiple <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/10/13/us-news/at-least-5-airports-refuse-to-air-kristi-noem-video-blaming-democrats-for-government-shutdown/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a>.</p>

<p>While TSA agents are working during the shutdown, they are doing so unpaid.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, some air travelers have experienced flight <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/live-updates-countdown-to-government-shutdown?contentProgram=LIVE%20UPDATES%3A%20Day%2014%3A%20Another%20Chance%20to%20Reopen%20the%20Government&amp;contentType=Post&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;location=Home%20Tab&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Home%20Featured%20Carousel">delays</a> and cancellations during the shutdown due to airport staffing shortages.</p>
<p>The Senate is set to meet at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday evening before holding a vote at 5:30 p.m. on the House-passed continuing resolution, which would fund the government and end the shutdown.</p>
<p>As of Tuesday, the shutdown has lasted 14 days.</p>
