Blake Shelton’s moving speech about Gwen Stefani at her Hollywood Walk of Fame honor is trending after the country superstar gushed about how amazing of a mother and performer his wife is.
During the 47-year-old country singer’s speech, Shelton talked about the first time he met her in 2014 on the reality series “The Voice.” He said she had her arms full with a baby and two little boys as he praised her for being a “mother first and foremost.”
“That was her number one job,” Shelton said, as Stefani started getting emotional. “And now standing here almost 10 years later after I first met her, I can say without question, that being a mother is still the most important thing in her life.”
“And I got to tell you all that’s rare in this business,” he added. “But today it’s nice to see her honored for her side project. Which is being one of the biggest stars in the world. In my opinion, Gwen is the perfect person to receive a star on the Walk of Fame. From music, television and movies to fashion and beauty she has risen to the top over and over again with her unique style that has made the world fall in love with her.”

“Not as much as me though,” Shelton continued. “And then there’s that one thing that no one can ever explain, it’s that thing that she was just born with…that’s the thing that God gives you and without question God gave Gwen an extra scoop of it.”
The country star then noted how Stefani’s career all started with songwriting, something he said that she’s exceptional at before he congratulated his “all-time favorite songwriter on your star. You deserve this and I love you.”
The “No Doubt” hitmaker then blotted her eyes and embraced her husband. She could be overheard saying something about his speech “making” her cry.
Stefani then took the mic and gushed about Shelton, her “best friend.”

Shelton and Stefani met while working on the reality series. At the time, both were married to other people. The pair then went through separate divorces and in 2015, Shelton and Stefani started dating.
In October 2020 they got engaged and finally tied the knot at an intimate ceremony in July 2021. Stefani shares three children with her ex-husband singer Gavin Rossdale.
