‘Black Lives Matter’ Protesters Block Bridge, Delay Child’s Medical Emergency

On Sunday night, Black Lives Matter protesters blocked off the I-40 bridge in Arkansas, delaying an emergency run of a sick child to the hospital. Thanks to the obstruction, a ten-minute trip turned into a half-hour trip, placing the child at much greater medical risk.

The protesters were blocking roads and giving the black power salute in light of the deaths of two black men fatally shot during police interactions, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Though the mainstream media and most on the left have already castigated the cops involved as cold-blooded racists, both cases are still being investigated for wrongdoing. No evidence of racial animus has been revealed thus far.

“Protesters began their march downtown and eventually made their [way] onto the bridge, which caused it to be shut down for several hours. As a result, the child’s parents were stuck on the bridge, and they could not drive the child to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital,” reports Fox 13 Memphis.

The child’s parents were worried about their son’s condition and called for an ambulance.

“We were escorted by the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office up the wrong way on the interstate to pick up the child out of the traffic,” said Bobby Harrell, a paramedic who witnessed the event.

“Harrell and his medical team picked up the boy and detoured through West Memphis onto I-55,” notes Fox 13 Memphis. “They eventually made it to the hospital for treatment.”

Workers on scene say that the boy was stable, “but his condition could have gotten worse because the protest delayed the transport.”

“When you have someone in dire need of medical attention, I don’t know if there is a cause great enough to hinder someone from getting to the hospital to get medical care,” added Harrell.

This is just a small sample of the chaos and anarchy Black Lives Matter protesters have caused since the movement’s inception in 2012. Most notably, in 2014, protesters looted and burned the city of Ferguson in reaction to the case of Michael Brown. Brown was killed during an interaction with white officer Darren Wilson, he was later fully exonerated in the court of law.
