<p>Bill Maher, the host of HBO&#8217;s &#8220;Real Time,&#8221; said during an interview late last week that Democrats need to drop their support for the transgender movement if they want to start winning again.</p>
<p>Maher made the remarks on the leftist podcast &#8220;Pod Save America&#8221; with former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Democratic position in [California] has been that the school has the right to hide it from the parents,&#8221; Maher said. &#8220;That is not something that’s going to go well with the average voter.&#8221;</p>
<p>He said that in far-Left parts of America, schools &#8220;constantly had this idea in the minds of children that maybe you&#8217;re not in the right body.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I mean, the New England Journal of Medicine advocated for taking sex off of a birth certificate,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It was like, &#8216;your assigned sex at birth.&#8217; Well I was assigned it by my dick, okay, when I was born. And again, to tell kids, it doesn&#8217;t always have to be and isn&#8217;t always the default setting, but that&#8217;s a different mentality than they put in the minds of kids, and that&#8217;s why this debate goes on.&#8221;</p>
<p>He said that people were fed up with being told that they were bigots if they wanted to even debate the topic.</p>
<p>&#8220;And the fact that you think, or a lot of people on the Left think, that even if you just have this debate, it makes you a bigot, you just have to roll over … that was their position,&#8221; he said. &#8220;If you even question this, you&#8217;re some sort of a bigot. And this is new science. And it has to do with children. And it&#8217;s not going to look good in the future, that position.&#8221;</p>
