President Donald Trump crowed over the settlement in his lawsuit against &#8220;60 Minutes,&#8221; CBS, and Paramount on Tuesday — which stemmed from a selectively edited interview of former Vice President Kamala Harris — calling it a &#8220;BIG AND IMPORTANT WIN!&#8221;
Trump first shared the news in a post on his Truth Social platform, where he also took aim at ABC News and anchor George Stephanopoulos over their recent payout in a similar lawsuit.

Just one day earlier, over a story linking Trump to a birthday letter he allegedly wrote to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein — which he&#8217;s repeatedly said is &#8220;fake&#8221; — the White House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-boots-wsj-from-press-pool-over-report-on-fake-epstein-letter">barred</a> The Wall Street Journal from the press pool during Trump&#8217;s trip to Scotland.

Referencing medieval tradition — specifically, the notion that only the court jester was allowed to mock the king and for that reason had an obligation to do so — Behar suggested that Colbert&#8217;s show was getting the axe because Trump did not like being mocked.

Cohost Sunny Hostin complained that Colbert&#8217;s dismissal — which appears to have been based on net losses due to insufficient ad revenue — amounted to &#8220;the dismantling of our democracy, This is the dismantling of our Constitution.&#8221;
&#8220;If the comedians are being attacked, then that means our Constitution is being dismantled,&#8221; Hostin continued, ignoring the financial issues in play and suggesting that Colbert had been canceled solely because he was vocally opposed to Trump. &#8220;What are we going to do as a country? We must protect our Constitution and we must protect our democracy. This is bigger than just the cancellation of a television show.&#8221;

Cohost Sara Haines conceded that there could be financial reasons for the decision, noting that advertisers were not putting up the same kind of cash they used to as streaming platforms have taken up some of the bandwidth.
Hostin pushed back, saying that Colbert had raked in some $60 million in ad buys — but left out the fact that his show cost around $100 million to produce, resulting in a $40 million loss.

‘The View’ Melts Down Over Colbert: ‘King’ Trump Is ‘Coming For’ The Court Jesters

President Donald Trump jabbed at late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel for a second time in a recent Truth Social post, referencing CBS and the cancellation of &#8220;The Late Show&#8221; with host Stephen Colbert and suggesting that Kimmel&#8217;s eponymous show would be next on the chopping block.
Trump also took a swing at &#8220;Tonight Show&#8221; host Jimmy Fallon, saying that late night comedy was on its way out and happily taking credit for his role in making that happen.
&#8220;The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone,&#8221; he posted on Tuesday. &#8220;These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television. It’s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!&#8221;

CBS confirmed that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-celebrates-cbs-axing-stephen-colberts-show-i-hear-jimmy-kimmel-is-next">Colbert&#8217;s show</a> was being canceled several days earlier — with its final episode to air in May of 2026 — at which point Trump&#8217;s victory lap began.
&#8220;I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings,” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114874422468516376" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on Truth Social at the time. &#8220;I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. ‘Jimmy Kimmel Is Next’: Trump Keeps Pouring Salt Into Open Wound After Colbert Ouster

Longtime Democratic Strategist James Carville let loose on his own party in a scathing op-ed, calling it &#8220;constipated,&#8221; &#8220;leaderless,&#8221; and &#8220;a cracked-out clown car&#8221; that was barreling down the road toward a &#8220;civilized civil war.&#8221;
Carville has often taken Democrats to task in recent years – particularly with regard to their obsession with &#8220;wokeness&#8221; — and his <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/21/opinion/carville-democrats-midterms-mamdani.html?smid=tw-share">column</a> in Monday&#8217;s edition of The New York Times was no exception.
&#8220;Our party is headed for a civilized civil war. It’s vital that we have it, and even more vital that we delay it,&#8221; Carville teased the column in an X post, acknowledging that there had to be some changes made within his party but calling on the people to try to keep it together at least until after the 2026 midterms.

&#8220;Constipated. Leaderless. Confused. A cracked-out clown car. Divided. These are the words I hear my fellow Democrats using to describe our party as of late. The truth is they’re not wrong: The Democratic Party is in shambles,&#8221; Carville wrote.
Carville went on to lay out the divisions made obvious by the rise of Democratic socialists in places like New York City — Queens councilman turned Democratic Mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, for example — and argued that the party would have to face a reckoning of sorts. It needed to happen, he conceded, but said that it should wait until after the 2026 midterm elections.
The solution, Carville claimed, would come in the form of a &#8220;savior&#8221; — one candidate who could bring about a New Democratic Party that brought both sides together. His assessment was that such &#8220;saviors&#8221; had arisen before in former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
&#8220;The Democratic Party is steamrolling toward a civilized civil war. It’s necessary to have it. It’s even more necessary to delay it. The only thing that can save us now is an actual savior, because a new party can be delivered only by a person — see Barack Obama in 2008 and Bill Clinton in 1992,&#8221; he said. &#8220;No matter how many podcasts or influencer streams our candidates go on, our new leader won’t arrive until the day after the midterms in November 2026, which marks the unofficial-yet-official beginning of the 2028 presidential primary contest. No new party or candidate has a chance for a breakthrough until that day.&#8221;
Whether or not Carville&#8217;s message will be well-received by Democrats remains to be seen. If former President Joe Biden&#8217;s embattled son Hunter is any indication, the likelihood is that it won&#8217;t.
&#8220;James Carville hasn’t won a race in 40 f***ing years,&#8221; the younger Biden said during a recent interview, sharply criticizing any Democrat who&#8217;d conceded that it was time for Joe Biden to bow out. &#8220;[David Axelrod] had one success in his political life and that was Barack Obama and that was because of Barack Obama.&#8221;

Former President Joe Biden&#8217;s embattled son Hunter Biden scolded Republicans during a recent interview, dropping a series of f-bombs in an apparent attempt to convince the audience that everyone should agree with his position on illegal immigration.
The younger Biden took his expletive-laced rant in the usual direction, leaning on the elitist arguments that illegal immigration was necessary because it helped to ensure less desirable jobs — jobs that legal American citizens might not want to do — were filled.

Hunter Biden ‘Defends’ Illegals With Slew Of F-Bombs

Democrats appear intent on forging ahead with their efforts to leverage controversy over the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein to stir up division among Republicans — even in the face of polls that indicate their previous efforts have been fruitless.
For those who don&#8217;t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week&#8217;s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed.
Polling thus far suggests that if the ongoing drama surrounding Epstein is causing — or furthering — any division within the Republican Party, it is having very little impact on President Donald Trump&#8217;s popularity. Still, that data has done little to dissuade Democrats from running with their chosen narrative — and Sunday morning&#8217;s political shows made that abundantly clear.
On ABC&#8217;s &#8220;This Week,&#8221; host Martha Raddatz raised the topic with chief justice correspondent Pierre Thomas, who noted that the Trump Justice Department&#8217;s move to unseal grand jury records amounted to an effort to &#8220;relitigate&#8221; the case against Epstein posthumously.

Raddatz then turned to Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), who has called for the release of the Epstein documents, for assistance in her efforts to help Democrats drive the wedge deeper. Burchett said he believed Attorney General Pam Bondi had fumbled in the initial messaging with regard to Epstein, but he was not quite ready to call for her ouster.

Raddatz made one last attempt to stir tensions between Republicans and the Trump White House, asking whether Burchett had been upset by Trump&#8217;s dismissal of those like him who had called for the release of the documents.

Burchett clarified his position further during an appearance on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union,&#8221; where he made it clear that while he was frustrated with President Trump&#8217;s administration, he was also angry at Democrats — who stonewalled efforts to get access to the Epstein flight logs while former President Joe Biden was in office and suddenly are demanding the files.

CBS News actually addressed the reality of the situation, however, citing recent polling that indicated the Epstein case — whether people were angry about it or not — was not moving the needle away from Donald Trump when it came to his levels of support from within the party.
