President Joe Biden’s border crisis reached new levels last month, according to newly released numbers from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Federal agents recorded 302,034 illegal alien encounters last month, the highest level ever recorded, surpassing the previous record of 269,735 that Biden set in September 2023. At least 19 illegal aliens who were arrested were on the terrorist watchlist.
The Biden administration waited until late on Friday evening to release the information to the public, a clear indicator that they were trying to bury the news.
BREAKING: In Friday news dump, CBP officially reports 302,034 migrant encounters in December, the highest month ever recorded. CBP also reports Border Patrol arrested 19 people on the FBI terror watchlist in December, bringing the total to 50 arrests for fiscal year 2024 so far.

The situation on the U.S. southern border has deteriorated so significantly under Biden that December’s illegal alien numbers are nearly identical to the total number of illegal aliens that were arrested at the U.S. southern border for the entire 2017 fiscal year, when federal officials apprehended 303,916 illegal aliens.
The number of illegal alien encounters on the southern border last month is comparable to or larger than the population of numerous major U.S. cities, including Orlando, Newark, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Spokane, Irving, Lubbock, and more.
Former Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf responded to the historic border numbers by saying that it was evidence that Biden was intentionally causing the crisis.
“Today’s historical border numbers confirm what we already know,” he wrote on X. “The Biden Admin is not using existing authority to secure the border. This continues to be a crisis by design, it’s overwhelming Border Patrol, and overrunning American communities.”
While the crisis continues to worsen, Biden is fighting the state of Texas in the courts to prevent Governor Greg Abbott from being able to stop what is increasingly being referred to as an “invasion” into his state.

House Speaker Mike Johnson responded to the news by saying he fully supports Republicans’ efforts to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, which could begin as soon as next week.
“Our border is wide open and the Biden administration is to blame,” Johnson said. “I fully support @HomelandGOP ’s impeachment efforts and I look forward to seeing Secretary Mayorkas held accountable for this catastrophe.”
