U.S. troops may not withdraw from Afghanistan by August 31 if Americans remain trapped and in need of help, President Joe Biden told ABC News in an interview late Wednesday. 
Biden’s admission means that the American self-imposed withdrawal deadline, which the president set back in July, may have to be extended to meet that commitment, even though, also on Wednesday, the Biden administration&#8217;s Department of Defense said that they planned to stay in Kabul &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-admin-we-dont-have-the-capability-to-rescue-americans-trapped-in-afghanistan-taliban-not-honoring-safe-passage-agreement">until the clock runs out</a>.&#8221; As The Daily Wire previously reported, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin didn&#8217;t say what clock he was referring to, but it was interpreted as referring to the August 31 timetable.
