<p>Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro was in the room for President Donald Trump&#8217;s historic speech at the Knesset on Monday, and said the excitement for the U.S. president was &#8220;truly off the charts.&#8221;</p>
<p>Before Trump got up to speak, Israeli leaders — from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana to opposition leader Yair Lapid — praised the president for his work in achieving a ceasefire and getting the hostages home. When Trump was first introduced at the Knesset, he received a standing ovation as members broke out into chants of &#8220;Trump! Trump! Trump!&#8221;</p>
<p>Shapiro said that Trump is universally beloved in Israel, adding, &#8220;There is no one in Israel, with very rare exceptions, typically from the radical Arab parties, that does not love President Trump.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Truly, it&#8217;s an astonishing thing. I happened to be in the Knesset for President Trump&#8217;s speech,&#8221; he said during Monday&#8217;s episode of &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/bss-ep-2296-member-exclusive?elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+Show+Episodes+Carousel">The Ben Shapiro Show</a>,&#8221; which he recorded shortly after Trump spoke at the Knesset. &#8220;I was there, and let me tell you, the unbridled, overwhelming love that Israelis have for Donald J. Trump. It&#8217;s extraordinary, truly extraordinary.&#8221;</p>
<p>Israelis celebrated in the streets on Monday as the 20 remaining living hostages returned to the country thanks to the peace deal President Trump brokered between Israel and Hamas.</p>

<p>&#8220;This president of the United States, he won&#8217;t just go down in Jewish history, obviously, he&#8217;ll go down in American history, and in world history for the work that he&#8217;s done in the Middle East,&#8221; the Daily Wire host continued.</p>
<p>During his speech, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-lays-out-golden-age-of-peace-in-major-israel-speech?topStoryPosition=undefined&amp;author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=4&amp;row=1&amp;rowHeadline=Top+Stories&amp;rowType=Top+Stories&amp;title=Trump+Lays+Out+%E2%80%98Golden+Age%E2%80%99+Of+Peace+In+Major+Israel+Speech">said</a> that this day would be remembered throughout history and would be the beginning of &#8220;the golden age of Israel and the golden age of the Middle East.&#8221;</p>
<p>“This is not only the end of a war — it is the end of an age of terror and death, and the beginning of the age of faith, and hope, and of God,” he added. “This is the historic dawn of a new Middle East.”</p>
<p>Shapiro said that Trump&#8217;s speech was &#8220;hilariously funny&#8221; at times. &#8220;He talked about General &#8216;Razin&#8217; Caine and ISIS, he talked about Steve Witkoff&#8217;s negotiations with Russia. He made fun of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and all the rest.&#8221;</p>
<p>But Shapiro said that Trump&#8217;s speech was also &#8220;triumphal&#8221; and &#8220;serious.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;President Trump said that there are two messages that America understands when it comes to Israel: never forget and never again,&#8221; Shapiro said. &#8220;And the president also laid out what comes next. And that is not just the return of hostages, but a fully disarmed Hamas and a demilitarized Gaza. How that happens is still up in the air, and phase one has been solved, but if the president does what he&#8217;s pledged to do and applies pressure to all of the erstwhile Arab allies and Muslim allies of Hamas, then Hamas will have very few choices left.&#8221;</p>
