Actor Ben Affleck and singer Jennifer Lopez have gotten married, according to multiple reports.
According to TMZ, the “Good Will Hunting” star and the pop icon were married in a private ceremony in Las Vegas. Citing court records from Clark County, Nevada, the outlet reported that the couple obtained a marriage license in their full legal names— Benjamin Geza Affleck and Jennifer Lynn Lopez — that was processed on July 16. A source reportedly confirmed the news to TMZ.
Another source confirmed the marriage to Entertainment Tonight.
“Jen and Ben got married in Vegas,” the source said. “They have so much fun together and thought this would be a fun idea too. Ben is absolutely in love with Jen and feels loved by her too. They both feel so comfortable with each other and like they share history and know each other so well.”
“They feel like they are in the same place in life now and relate to each other on another level,” the source continued. “Ben feels younger around Jen and like she brings out his best self. He loves that he doesn’t have to try very hard and can just be himself. Jen loves being around Ben no matter what they are doing.” Lopez thinks incredibly highly of Affleck as a father, and now stepfather, the source added. “She thinks Ben is an incredible partner and father. She celebrates him for the good and they are both really there for each other. They’re so excited to make more memories together and have more adventures, both as a couple and as a family.”
Affleck and Lopez’s marriage comes just a few months after Lopez announced her engagement to Affleck. TMZ reported in early April that Lopez was spotted wearing an enormous green diamond ring while out shopping with her daughter Emme. Lopez later confirmed her engagement in a video posted to her fan newsletter, On the JLo.
“Saturday night … my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed,” Lopez wrote at the time, via ET. “I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said YES of course that’s a YES.” I was smiling so big and tears were coming down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole. Affleck and Lopez reunited in 2021, having previously dated between 2002 and 2004. Lopez had already been married twice and had just divorced her second husband, former backup dancer Cris Judd. The couple met on the set of the film “Gigli” and began a relationship shortly afterward. They were engaged in November 2002 but split up in 2004. Affleck went on to marry actress Jennifer Garner, but they divorced in 2018. Lopez was married to singer Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014 and was engaged to New York Yankees great Alex Rodriguez from 2017 to 2021.
