‘Badge Of Honor’: Nikki Haley Scorns Iran Sanctioning Her

“You know you're doing something right.”

NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 14: United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley vetoes a Russian proposed draft resolution that would "condemn the aggression against Syria by the U.S. and its allies" during a United Nations Security Council emergency meeting concerning the situation in Syria, at United Nations headquarters, April 14, 2018 in New York City. Yesterday the United States and European allies Britain and France launched airstrikes in Syria as punishment for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's suspected role in last week's chemical weapons attacks that killed upwards of 40 people.

On Saturday, after reports stated that the despotic theocratic regime in Iran, the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, had sanctioned her, among other U.S. officials, for their involvement in the killing of terror-master Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley fired back that she viewed the sanction as a “badge of honor.”

After former President Trump’s successful attempt to kill Soleimani, Haley tweeted, “Qassem Soleimani was an arch terrorist with American blood on his hands. His demise should be applauded by all who seek peace and justice. Proud of President Trump for doing the strong and right thing.”

Regarding Iran’s sanctions, Fox News reported:

statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry said the officials were sanctioned for the role they played in the terrorist act of the United States against Martyr General [Qassem] Soleimani and his companions, in glorification of terrorism and in violating the fundamental human rights.

The statement declared:

The said persons, as the case may be, have taken part in decision-making, organizing, financing, and carrying out the terrorist act or have otherwise justified terrorism which is a threat to the international peace and security through supporting such egregious terrorist attack.

In April 2018, Haley stated, “We will not hesitate to protect our interests, defend our allies, and stand up for our values. We have, for example, entered a new era of leadership in our relationship with Iran. The Iran nuclear deal was designed to be too big to fail. For years, not just the United States, but our allies in Europe, have overlooked Iranian ballistic missile launches, support for terrorists, and the oppression of the Iranian people in order to preserve the nuclear deal. The deal’s architects claimed that our choices were either accept a bad deal or go to war with Iran. This administration has had the courage to challenge this false choice.”

In February 2020, in an attempt to woo South Carolina voters during his campaign for the presidency, Joe Biden attacked Haley for refusing to expand Medicaid, appearing to start saying she “didn’t have the brains.”

Jamie Lovegrove, a reporter for the Post And Courier covering the South Carolina primary, wrote, “Biden has started criticizing @NikkiHaley more directly in South Carolina recently for declining to expand Medicaid here. In Georgetown, he appears to start saying she ‘didn’t have the brains’ before stopping himself and changing it to ‘foresight’ because he wants to ‘be polite.’”

Haley, getting wind of Biden’s remarks, fired back on Twitter, “Hold up, Joe. I will put my brain up against yours anytime. Bring it.”

In October 2019, Haley praised former President Trump, contending that his record on foreign policy was one that “every American should be proud of.”

“If you look around the world, President Trump has a record every American should be proud of,” Haley told Fox News. “In the Middle East, the ISIS caliphate has been destroyed, and we’ve stopped handing billions in cash to Iran that it used to fund terrorism. The North Korean regime is no longer testing long-range missiles. America is once again treating the Cuban dictatorship like the pariah it is, and [socialist dictator Nicolas] Maduro’s days are numbered in Venezuela.”

“America is strong again, and it is because of President Trump’s decisions,” she added.

In August 2019, some of the leaders of the G-7 summit, including President Trump, got a surprise: French president Emmanuel Macron had surreptitiously invited Iran’s foreign minister Javad Zarif to the town — and he showed up. Haley blasted Macron for his underhanded behavior, tweeting, “This is completely disrespectful to @realDonaldTrump and the other leaders at the G7. Iran supports terrorism at every turn and continues to pursue ‘Death to America.’ Manipulative of Macron to do this and very insincere. #NotWhatFriendsDo.”
