The world’s most famous quitter is now hoping more people do the same, and critics are fed up with it.

Prince Harry made headlines around the world when he left his position as senior royal and moved to California along with his American wife, Megan Markle. And then during an interview with Fast Company Harry extolled the virtues of quitting, saying it was good for people’s mental health.

When asked about burnout and how it relates to job resignations, the royal replied that now is the, “beginning of the mental health awakening.” He also called quitting, “something to be celebrated.”

Twitter exploded with negative comments reacting to the spoiled royal’s hypocritical claims.

“Prince Harry – a man paid millions for doing sweet FA – brazenly advising mere mortals ‘stuck in jobs that don’t bring them joy’ to quit stinks to high heaven. His woke rhetoric is becoming deeply irresponsible and reckless,” Dan Wootton tweeted

“Prince Harry showing himself up to be a fool. We should all stop paying him any attention,” Henry Bolton agreed.

Ironically, these comments were made after Prince Harry accepted new employment at the coaching and mental health services company BetterUp. The British royal serves as the company’s Chief Impact Officer as of March 2021.

As for other people quitting, however, the Duke of Sussex is overjoyed. He continued, saying, “Many people around the world have been stuck in jobs that didn’t bring them joy, and now they’re putting their mental health and happiness first. This is something to be celebrated.”

And Prince Harry certainly knows something about putting mental health first. He’s been causing quite a stir with his candid speech following his departure from the notoriously tight-lipped royal family. Prince Harry formerly revealed intimate details of his turmoil during a much-hyped interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“That feeling of being trapped within the family, there was no option to leave,” Harry dished to Winfrey, according to Page Six. “Eventually when I made that decision for my family, I was still told, ‘You can’t do this.’ And it’s like, ‘Well, how bad does it have to get until I am allowed to do this?’ [Markle] was going to end her life. It shouldn’t have to get to that.”

He continued, comparing his strife with his wife as being similar to what happened with his mother, Princess Diana.

“It’s incredibly triggering to potentially lose another woman in my life. Like the list is growing, and it all comes back to the same people, the same business model — the same industry,” he said.
