<p>An armed suspect reportedly attempted to break in to the FBI headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Thursday morning.</p>
<p>Multiple law enforcement agencies engaged in pursuit when the <a href="https://www.wowktv.com/news/standoff-near-ohio-fbi-building-closes-interstate/">suspect fled</a>, causing closures on Interstate 71 and state Route 73 as the suspect apparently headed toward the state capital of Columbus.</p>
<p>&#8220;At approximately 9 AM this morning an armed subject attempted to breach the Visitor Screening Facility at #FBI Cincinnati,&#8221; the local FBI office shared on Twitter. &#8220;After an alarm and a response by FBI special agents, the subject fled north onto Interstate 71.&#8221;</p>

<p>Fox News reported that the assailant fled after multiple shots were fired on the scene — but no reports of injuries had yet been posted.</p>

<p>The incident at FBI headquarters was linked a short time later to a lockdown in nearby Clinton County, where residents were advised to stay inside and lock their doors.</p>
<p>Reporter Kelly Rippin shared an update, saying, &#8220;CONFIRMED: The situation in Clinton Co is tied an earlier threat at the FBI building in Cincinnati. FBI building is no longer a threat. Suspect armed with a gun was at the building. There was a pursuit that has now lead to the Clinton Co situation which is still unfolding.&#8221;</p>

<p>Rippin also noted that the suspect had been identified as a male who was wearing a grey shirt and appeared to be wearing body armor.</p>
