Another video featuring Arizona Democrat Kyrsten Sinema bad-mouthing the state she’s running to represent in the Senate is making the rounds.
Arizona, Sinema told an audience back in 2010, is the “meth lab of democracy.”
The brief footage follows another leaked video showing Sinema warning an audience back in 2011 that “Arizona” may be “coming to a state near you.”
“Because over the past several years people would watch what was happening in Arizona and say, ‘Damn those people are crazy.’ Is it something with the water? No, the water’s fine, we stole it from Colorado. … They’re called Republicans.”
After some big laughs and applause from her audience, she added, “I want to talk to you about some of the things that I think that you can do to stop your state from becoming Arizona.”
She also tweeted out what was apparently her go-to Arizona-bashing joke:
The open Arizona Senate seat is one of the six “toss up” seats, according to RCP’s average of key polls. If the Democrats get all six, and if pollsters are correct that Republicans now have 50 seats that are safely theirs, the best Democrats could do is win 50 seats. If Democrats lose a single one of the toss ups, Republicans maintain their 51-seat majority. A recent ABC 15/OH Predictive Insights poll has Sinema trailing Republican Martha McSally by 6 points.
Townhall’s Guy Benson provides some more context for the Arizona race:
The GOP has sought to highlight Democrat Kyrsten Sinema’s past radicalism — she protested the Afghanistan war in a pink tutu, and her organization portrayed American soldiers as murderous skeletons inflicting “US terror” — as well as her biographical…shall we say, enhancements. But in a blue-tinted year, with Democrats highly motivated, Sinema has held onto a modest lead. It will be fascinating to see whether she will maintain that lead post-Kavanaugh, and after this clip makes its way into the bloodstream, via news coverage and inevitable attack ads.
