A Jewish French school was found laced with anti-Semitic and racist graffiti on Monday.
The school–Anne Frank School in Montreuil–was stained with quotes like “Jews forbidden” and “Filthy Jewish and Romani people” written in French as well as swastikas and Stars of David with the word “Jude” on them–an obvious reference to Holocaust badges.
The anti-Semitic and racist graffiti was roundly condemned.
“This is the school that was targeted, particularly because of its name, Anne Frank,” wrote Juliette Timsit, former principal of the school. “I was very proud to be a principal in this school. I love it. I am deeply affected by this and can barely hold back the tears.”
France’s education minister, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, voiced her displeasure with the offensive graffiti in a tweet.
“The inscriptions on Montreuil’s Anne Frank School are despicable,” Vallaud-Belkacem wrote. “These actions will not remain unpunished.”
The mayor of Montreuil, Patrice Bessac, made it clear that the graffiti will be scrubbed and the perpetrators will face justice.
“Those who allow themselves to cross the red line must know that they will be exposed to severe punishment,” Bessac said, per Ynetnews.
The anti-Semitic and racist graffiti on the Anne Frank School highlights the growing cancer of anti-Semitism in France, as anti-Semitic hate crimes have alarmingly spiked from 423 instances in 2014 to 851 instances in 2015–an increase of more than twofold–and consisted of 30 percent of the rise of “racist acts” from 2013 to 2014. Even worse is the fact that over 80 percent of anti-Semitic hate crimes are not reported.
France’s increasing anti-Semitism can be directly to traced to the increasing number of Muslim migrants immigration to Europe, a fact even the uber-leftist Huffington Post acknowledges. Consequently, Jews are immigrating from France to Israel at record numbers.
