American Killed In West Bank Terror Attack
The State Department confirmed a terrorist attack killed an American in the West Bank on Monday.
Gunmen driving around a highway and firing at cars shot the victim, identified as a U.S.-Israeli dual citizen who was roughly 25 years old, according to The Jerusalem Post.
The man, whose name has not been released as of press time, was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead after paramedics failed to resuscitate him.
“Sadly, I can confirm that a U.S. citizen was killed in one of the terror attacks in the West Bank tonight. I pray for his family,” U.S. Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides said in a tweet.

The Jerusalem Post noted the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine appeared to welcome news of the attack and accused Israel’s government of “terrorism and aggression” in the Palestinian territories where a settlement movement is taking hold.

“Resistance operations are continuing, and the enemy will pay the price for all its crimes,” the group said.
Israeli authorities are also looking for a Palestinian gunman in connection to a shooting in the West Bank on Sunday that killed two Israeli brothers.
Israeli settlers then set out to torch cars and homes in the West Bank, a flash of violence that the State Department said led to the killing of at least one Palestinian and dozens of injuries.
These developments underscore the imperative to immediately de-escalate tensions in words and deeds. The United States will continue to work with Israelis and Palestinians and our regional partners towards restoring calm.

“We condemn today’s violence in the West Bank, including the terrorist attack that killed two Israelis and settler violence, which resulted in the killing of one Palestinian, injuries to over 100 others, and the destruction of extensive property,” tweeted State Department spokesman Ned Price.
“These developments underscore the imperative to immediately de-escalate tensions in words and deeds. The United States will continue to work with Israelis and Palestinians and our regional partners towards restoring calm,” Price added.
