On Tuesday, Donald Trump’s former “fixer” officially “flipped” and pleaded guilty to a number of charges, among them violating campaign finance law at the direction of “a candidate for federal office” for the “principal purpose of influencing an election,” a plea that directly implicates the president. Now, the millionaire lawyer is trying to scrounge up a few hundred thousand dollars for his campaign to courageously tell the world the “truth.”
Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis announced the big “truth fund” campaign drive Wednesday on Trump’s least favorite morning show, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” It’s humbly titled the “Michael Cohen Truth Fund.”
Here’s the full text of the GoFundMe page, which wants to make sure that you don’t possibly miss that he plans to “tell the truth“:
On July 2, 2018, Michael Cohen declared his independence from Donald Trump and his commitment to tell the truth.
On August 21, Michael Cohen made the decision to take legal responsibility and to continue his commitment to tell the truth.
Michael decided to put his family and his country first. Now Michael needs your financial help — to pay his legal fees.
The Michael Cohen Truth Fund is a transparent trust account, with all donations going to help Michael Cohen and his family as he goes forward on his journey to tell the truth about Donald Trump.
The goal of the account is to raise $500,000. So far it’s only managed to raise just over $13,000, but it is “trending” and nearly 300 people “love” it.

In addition to pleading guilty for making an excessive campaign contribution and causing an unlawful corporation contribution at the request of a candidate — a reference to his “hush money” payments of $150,000 to former Playboy model Karen McDougal and $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels — Cohen also pleaded guilty to five counts of tax evasion and one count of making false statements to a financial institution. In other words, he’s got a whole lot of “truth” to unpack, and not just about Trump.
Meanwhile, the world holds its collective breath to see how Cohen’s bombshell plea will impact the president, with some people predicting impeachment while others say not so fast.
