Pat Carroll, known for her role in voicing Ursula in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” passed away this weekend at 95 years old while she recovered from pneumonia, according to her team.

The Hollywood Reporter said that Carroll’s daughter, Kerry Karsian, confirmed her mother’s passing, which happened at her home in Cape Cod. Variety reported that a representative for Carroll confirmed her death and that she died with her best friend at her side.

Carroll’s other daughter, Tara Karsian, announced her mother’s passing in a post on Instagram.

“It is with a heavy heart that I write that my mother, Pat Carroll, has passed away at the grand old age of 95,” Tara Karsian wrote. “We ask that you honor her by having a raucous laugh at absolutely anything today (and everyday forward) because besides her brilliant talent and love, she leaves my sister Kerry and I with the greatest gift of all, imbuing us with humor and the ability to laugh…even in the saddest of times.”

“Someone (apologies as I’ve forgotten who) sent me this meme a while ago,” she continued. “Truer words were never written and this is how we’ll always remember her.”

Born in Louisiana on May 5, 1927, Carroll started her acting career in 1947 with the film “Hometown Girl.”

Carroll said in a 2013 interview that she “learned so much about comedy from watching” Howard Morris, Carl Reiner and Sid Caesar.

“They worked together for so long that they had that innate sense of each other’s timing,” she said. “It was impossible for them to fumble. We did two shows every Saturday night because one was for the West Coast and one was for the East Coast. If they totally abhorred a sketch they did, those three would sit in Sid’s dressing room with the writers and write a brand new sketch. Yes, amazing.”

Carroll appeared on numerous shows during the 1950s through the 1970s.

In 1989, Carroll played voiced Ursula in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” calling the role one of her all-time favorites, according to Deadline.

“She’s a mean old thing! I think people are fascinated by mean characters,” Carroll said in an interview. “There’s a fatal kind of distraction about the horrible mean characters of the world because we don’t meet too many of them in real life. So when we have a chance, theatrically, to see one and this one, she’s a biggie, it’s kind of fascinating for us.”
