Rapper <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/al-sharptons-group-nicki-minaj-uninformed-spread-false-information" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nicki Minaj</a> praised President Donald Trump on Saturday morning for taking action to help persecuted Christians in Nigeria.
Trump announced on Friday that he&#8217;s designating Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern due to relentless persecution of Christians by radical Islamist terrorists.
&#8220;Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude,&#8221; Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, posted to X. &#8220;We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion.&#8221;
&#8220;We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror &amp; it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice.&#8221;
&#8220;Thank you to The President &amp; his team for taking this seriously,&#8221; the rapper added. &#8220;God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.&#8221;

In a follow-up post, Minaj, who was raised Christian, stressed that people of all faiths must be allowed to worship freely. &#8220;[T]here are &#8216;extremists&#8217; in every religion,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Sending love to our Muslim Barbz. United States Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz thanked Minaj for using her platform to draw attention to the persecution of Christians and invited her to speak with him &#8220;in more depth&#8221; about what the Trump administration is doing &#8220;to protect Christians’ freedoms all over the world.&#8221;
&#8220;[Nicki Minaj], thank you for using your platform to speak out in defense of the Christians being persecuted in Nigeria,&#8221; Waltz posted to X Saturday morning. &#8220;We cannot allow this to continue. Every brother and sister of Christ must band together and say, &#8216;Enough!'&#8221;
&#8220;If you ever find yourself in New York, come by the US Embassy to the United Nations,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I would love to speak with you in more depth about what our administration is doing to protect Christians’ freedoms all over the world.&#8221;

Trump&#8217;s Truth Social post said that &#8220;Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria.&#8221;
&#8220;Thousands of Christians are being killed,&#8221; he wrote. &#8220;Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.&#8221;
&#8220;When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!&#8221; POTUS continued. &#8220;I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter, and report back to me.&#8221;
&#8220;The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries,&#8221; he added. &#8220;We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!&#8221;
