On Wednesday night, Life News confirmed that 24-year-old Cree Erwin did indeed die at the hands of Planned Parenthood on July 3, following complications from a botched abortion she received on June 30.
Erwin was a patient at the Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood facility in Michigan, though the abortionist who left the 24-year-old with fatal complications remains unidentified.
Laura Denise Castleman, however, has been identified as the abortionist who provided the Michigan woman with a prescription for pain medication following the abortion, though her Drug Control Location License for the Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood had expired on January 31, 2016. As noted by Life News, the abortionist with a suspended Drug Control License is also “suspected of involvement in at least three other abortion-related injuries in Kalamazoo and Ann Arbor, contributing to a nationwide pattern of abortion injuries and deaths at Planned Parenthood facilities.”
It’s unclear if Castleman, a former abortion training member for the National Abortion Federation, was the abortionist who performed the deadly procedure on Erwin.
Pro-life Operation Rescue Vice President Cheryl Sullenger is calling for the Kalamazoo facility to be shut down in the wake of Erwin’s avoidable death.
“If Cree Erwin had not visited the Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood for an abortion, she would be alive today,” stated Sullenger. “I urge the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs not to turn a blind eye to the pattern of abuses we are seeing at Planned Parenthood facilities. The Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood is not safe and must be shut down to protect other women from ending up on a slab in the morgue.”
Founding Core Member for the National Black Pro-Life Coalition, Catherine Davis said that this latest tragedy at Planned Parenthood underscores the organization’s “population control mission and their unfettered greed.”
“While we mourn with the family of Cree Erwin, we are compelled to sound the alarm about the growing ranks of women and infants killed, or reproductively maimed in a Planned Parenthood. The number of women leaving a Planned Parenthood in an ambulance amid allegations of harvesting baby body parts reminds us of two things: Planned Parenthood’s population control mission and their unfettered greed. Both must be stopped in their tracks before one more vibrant young woman loses her life,” said Davis.
“Planned Parenthood of Kalamazoo, under the leadership of Lori Carpentier, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Michigan, has a history of not functioning within basic medical standards and flying under the radar with the apparent cooperation of the State of Michigan,” chimed-in Pro-Life Detroit’s Lynn Mills. “The Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood continued to operate without a proper facility license from September 2012, until January 2016. How does the State of Michigan let this happen? I’m calling for Carpentier to first make a public apology to the family of Cree Erwin, and then step down from her position. Immediately!”
Adding to the problems of the Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood, Operation Rescue recently filed a complaint against the facility looking to revoke their license to conduct abortions in the aftermath of a September 10, 2015 abortion. The clinic summoned an ambulance “with no lights or sirens” to tend to a 15-year-old abortion patient suffering from “life-threatening, Priority 1” complications post-abortion. Clearly, the priority of keeping their unsafe practices hush-hush outweighed a potential dead teenager.
A Battle Creek Police Department homicide investigation over Erwin’s death remains open, pending the release the victim’s autopsy report.
