Fox News announced Tuesday that a 24-year-old consultant, Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova, was killed in the same attack that left cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski dead and war correspondent Benjamin Hall injured.

“Adding to our sadness at @FoxNews – Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra ‘Sasha’ Kuvshynova was also killed in the attack against our Fox News team. Sasha was working for us as a local producer. Prayers going out to her family,” tweeted “America Reports” anchor John Roberts.

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum announced the news on the air during Tuesday’s broadcast of “The Story”:

“Earlier today, we shared with you the news that our colleague, Pierre Zakrzewski, was killed while reporting with Benjamin Hall outside of Kyiv. We can now confirm that another journalist died in that same attack. Oleksandra ‘Sasha’ Kuvshynova died alongside Pierre when incoming fire hit their vehicle. She was just 24 years old.”

“Sasha was serving as a consultant for us in Ukraine. FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott says Sasha was helping our teams navigate the city, gather news and speak with sources. Working around the clock, she helped to share Ukraine’s story with the world and we are grateful to her for that. Our correspondents and our producers say she was hard working, funny, kind and brave, which you have to be to do this kind of work.

“We delayed delivering the news of her death out of respect for her family. We offer them the deepest condolences and gratitude for her work. And we ask you to think of them, to keep them in your prayers as they struggle with the loss of their young daughter. Just 24 years old doing courageous, courageous work. Of course, along with the family of Pierre and so many others who have lost loved ones during the war. We will miss him and we are grateful for the extraordinary work and the opportunity to work with him over the years as well. We await more news, which we will share with you when we can, on the condition of our Benjamin Hall.”

FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott shared a statement on Kuvshynova’s death, and The Daily Wire obtained a copy:

In our effort to keep you updated on yesterday’s tragic events, we wanted to report that journalist Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova was also killed alongside our cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski when their vehicle was struck by incoming fire yesterday while in the field with Benjamin Hall.

Sasha was just 24 years old and was serving as a consultant for us in Ukraine. She was helping our crews navigate Kyiv and the surrounding area while gathering information and speaking to sources. She was incredibly talented and spent weeks working directly with our entire team, operating around the clock to make sure the world knew what was happening in her country.

Our team in Ukraine tells me that Sasha had a passion for music, the arts, and photography and was a joy to work with. Several of our correspondents and producers spent long days with her reporting the news and got to know her personally, describing her as hard-working, funny, kind and brave. Her dream was to connect people around the world and tell their stories and she fulfilled that through her journalism.

We held off on delivering this devastating news earlier today out of respect for her family whom we have been in touch with throughout and we extend our deepest condolences to them.
