“Chuck” star Zachary Levi said he’s spoken to people in Hollywood who thanked him for supporting Trump, saying they were also fans, but too “afraid” to make it known publicly.
The 44-year-old celeb talked about going against the mainstream opinions of the entertainment industry during a newly published interview with <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/news/zachary-levi-trump-support-austin-studio-1236405791/">Variety</a>. “I know it to be true because I’ve gotten messages from lots of people who I won’t name but who were very grateful to me for taking the stand that I took,” Levi told the outlet.
“And also they would tell me, ‘I want to do that, but I’m so afraid.’ And I would tell them, ‘Listen, you’re on your journey. I’m on my journey. You’ve got to keep trusting God. And if you feel compelled to step out in that way, then do it boldly and know that you’re going to be OK. And if you don’t feel that conviction yet, then don’t. It’s all good.’”
The &#8220;Shazam&#8221; actor also said how voicing his political stance has affected his career.
“I know that there are people that would prefer not to work with me now because of my opinions. My team has let me know,” Levi told the outlet.
“They haven’t given me any specific names, but there are people who prefer not to work with me at this time. And it’s unfortunate. I knew that was probably going to happen. I didn’t make this decision blindly or casually.” 
Levi made major waves last October after posting an Instagram Live video targeting “closeted conservatives and closeted Trump voters” and asking that they come forward and identify themselves.

He made a formal <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actor-zachary-levi-explains-why-hes-supporting-trump-and-his-avengers">endorsement</a> of Trump, saying, “For four years, the world didn’t blow up. He didn’t turn into the Nazi, fascist that everybody [said] he was going to be the first time around. We entered no more wars. Our economy was better. Our border was better.”
Levi said at the time that even if he didn&#8217;t &#8220;like all of his Trumpiness,&#8221; it didn’t change the fact that Kamala Harris was “not qualified in any way, shape, or form to be the commander in chief, the leader of the free world. Absolutely not.”

Hollywood star Zachary Levi sat down with Daily Wire podcast host Matt Walsh this week and discussed coming out in support of President Donald Trump as well as the current state of Hollywood.
Speaking on “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/mws-ep-1537">The Matt Walsh Show</a>” podcast in an episode that aired Friday, the 44-year-old actor said he knew he wanted to be an actor from a very young age because he wanted to make “people feel good.” And as he got older that same platform led him to feeling the need to “come out of the political closet” to support Trump in the election, despite the fear of being canceled.
“I think, overwhelmingly, it was more positive,” Levi said. “This isn&#8217;t just red versus blue because the reality is there&#8217;s people on the red and blue that actually are decent human beings that actually do want a better world. And there&#8217;s people on the red and blue who are not decent people, who are absolute swamp monsters. And so because of that, I haven&#8217;t really found any presidential candidate to be all that inspiring in all of my adult life. 
&#8220;I was intrigued by Trump in that he wasn&#8217;t a career politician, but I had enough of him and his brashness and kind of bullishness and the things that most people take umbrage with,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;But it certainly wasn’t Hillary [Clinton], [Joe] Biden, or Kamala [Harris].”
Levi admitted that if the Democratic Party had let Robert F. Kennedy Jr. run, he would’ve voted for a Democrat, but when he was kept off the ticket, Levi turned his support to Trump, whom Kennedy backed.

“And then Trump is nearly killed — and there, I think, all of us &#8230; in every party, on every level, every end of the spectrum, that was a massive, massive moment for Trump, particularly within that massive moment. I, and many others like me, saw this incredible God-inspired shift,” the actor said. “I think that was a miracle that Donald Trump lived.”
“But it brought a humility to Donald Trump that I don&#8217;t think existed in him before, at least not on that level,” he added. “And that&#8217;s something I need in a leader. &#8230; Because the alternative to me was not an option in the way that I know a lot of people on the other side felt the same way about Donald Trump.”
Levi said that’s why it didn’t matter what happened to his career, because “if I save my career, but Kamala gets into office and we continue down this death spiral to the bottom that I fully believe that we were on &#8230; I was like, I can&#8217;t. God did not build me to do that. God built me to fight.”
The “Chuck” star told Walsh he, thus far, has not been canceled, “try as some might.”
“So my team is all with me. I still have very good relationships with lots of people in the industry. I&#8217;ve lost some friends,&#8221; Levi said. “There are people that all of a sudden stop following me on social media and don&#8217;t return my calls and stuff, and it&#8217;s a bummer, but I still love them.”

“I still have plenty of other jobs in film and television and some podcast stuff that&#8217;s coming up and building the studio, and I got my baby on the way,” he added. “And I&#8217;m busy and blessed and grateful, not just that I followed the conviction that God put on my heart, but that it wasn&#8217;t ultimately in vain. And we actually did it.”
The conversation then turned to original storytelling in Hollywood, and Walsh asked Levi if it was dead with all the sequels and remakes or if it still had a chance.
“Man, I hope so,” Levi said. “I mean, if I have anything to do with that, absolutely. It&#8217;s one of the reasons why I felt very strongly 25 years ago when I started working in the industry, and I just saw how broken it all was. Even then there was the beginnings of this trend of let&#8217;s just go reboot this long, old series into a movie.”
The “Shazam!” star said he thinks Hollywood executives are pressured not only by whether the movie will make a lot of money, but also by what he called an “insane” sociopolitical agenda.
“I think a lot of people want to say that Hollywood is the one pushing a lot of the agenda that they don&#8217;t like, whatever that agenda is,” Levi said. “Certainly Hollywood is massively complicit in it, but I don&#8217;t know that these agendas even necessarily start in Hollywood.”
“Some of them might, but some of them are thinking, ‘What&#8217;s the hip, cool thing to do? What are we going to do so that people like us and we don&#8217;t get canceled?’” he added. “So I think because of that, you&#8217;re drawing in an executive class that&#8217;s going to serve those two masters. It&#8217;s money and agenda appearance, whatever that is.”
Levi also reflected on all the great things coming in his life, including his new film “The Unbreakable Boy,” which he said tackles autism “authentically and beautifully.”
&#8220;&#8216;The Unbreakable Boy&#8217; comes out February 21st,” Levi said about the true story. “Man, I&#8217;m proud of everything I&#8217;ve done on some level, very grateful for everything I&#8217;ve gotten to do. But I&#8217;m particularly proud of this film. It is a very grounded slice-of-life film. No superheroes, no big bang and anything like that.”
On Friday, <a href="https://x.com/PatriciaHeaton/status/1890476161521840403">Patricia Heaton</a> dropped some surprising news that she will also be appearing in Levi’s upcoming movie.

The temperature in Washington, D.C., this week was frigid, but the mood was downright sizzling. One of the hottest places to celebrate the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 47th president of the United States of America was at The Mayflower Cigars Inauguration Party.

Canadian rap artist Tom MacDonald, who was also celebrating <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/roseanne-barr-and-tom-macdonalds-trump-rap-daddys-home-hits-number-1-ahead-of-inauguration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">his rap single “Daddy’s Home”</a> with Roseanne Barr hitting number one on the charts, made an appearance at the party. Actor and conservative personality Siaka Massaquoi, fondly known to Daily Wire fans as “Black Jeremy” thanks to his breakout performance in the Jeremy’s Razors commercials, was there too, enjoying the best of what Mayflower had to offer. Douglas Murray flew in from across the pond to attend the inauguration. Even Shazam’s Zachary Levi was there!

Hollywood star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/zachary-levi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zachary Levi</a> said Democratic politicians in California need to be held criminally responsible for the wildfires still burning in Los Angeles county as of Thursday.
During the 44-year-old actor’s appearance on <a href="https://x.com/robbystarbuck/status/1877187129286983709">Fox News</a>, Levi didn’t hold back and said the destruction caused by the Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires is due to “incredible mismanagement” and “incredibly poor leadership.” As of Thursday, the three fires remain zero percent contained and have forced the evacuations of tens of thousands of people in the Southern California area, with many losing their homes.
“I would go so far as to say that it’s criminally negligent because Gavin Newsom has been the governor either for five years or Lt. Governor prior to that for eight, nine years,” Levi explained. “Some of the worst fires we have ever had under that watch.”

“He clearly knows that the biggest problem that we suffer in California are these fires. Oh, and by the way, the mudslides that follow,” he added. “And for them to do not just nothing, but essentially worse than nothing, when firefighter budgets are being cut, when they are specifically, essentially work that could be done to avoid these problems or to be able to serve them effectively when they are happening.”
“At some point, it goes just beyond whoopsie, at some point it goes beyond negligence, there is something that’s almost criminally intentional about this,” the “Shazam!” star continued.

Levi said this is just “not good leadership,” and the politicians “must be held responsible.”
The actor wasn’t the only star who has blasted the Democratic leadership in the state and city for the disaster.
Actress Sarah Foster took to <a href="https://x.com/saramfoster/status/1877161637926641687">X</a> and pointed out that leftist policies have utterly ruined the state of California as she called on Newsom and others to resign immediately.
“We pay the highest taxes in California. Our fire hydrants were empty,” Foster wrote to her followers. “Our vegetation was overgrown, brush not cleared.”

Later in an interview with Fox News in November, the 58-year-old actress said during her appearance on “<a href="https://x.com/JesseBWatters/status/1857246154766876883">Jesse Watters Primetime</a>” that the election marked the end of the woke era, something she was definitely celebrating.
“The political correctness, the woke era is over because you need mob mentality momentum in order to keep that going,” Bateman told the host. “In order to threaten people if they are not thinking and talking the way you do.”
“To threaten their lives, threaten their careers, threaten their place in society,” she added. “You need that momentum in order to do that, and when Trump won [the] presidency again, that cut that momentum off. So, this whole woke era is over.”
