A new poll commissioned by the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/young-americas-foundation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Young America’s Foundation</a> found that the economy is the number one concern for college and high school students as President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> remains unpopular among the demographic.
The poll, conducted by Echelon Insights, found that high school and college students overwhelmingly see the economy as the top concern, more than issues like abortion or the climate. The survey examined the views of 821 high school students and 804 college students from June 4 to June 9.
Of those surveyed, 44% of college students and 48% of high school students said the economy was their number one concern. In 2020, college students were a crucial demographic for Biden with an <a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/539588-college-students-turned-out-in-droves-for-biden-heres-what-they-want-in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">estimated</a> 61% of young people (ages 18-29) casting a vote for Biden.
“Despite the Left’s never-ending focus on ‘progressive’ social issues, students are largely indifferent. Only 12% of high school students and 25% of college students consider abortion to be a top concern, while racial issues and LGBTQ+ ‘rights’ are even less of a priority,” YAF said in a <a href="https://yaf.org/news/new-yaf-poll-students-prioritize-economy-political-integrity-over-leftist-social-issues/">statement</a>.
Other top issues for students included school safety, political corruption, and health care.

Inflation has been a persistent issue under Biden, with elevated food, gas, and housing prices hampering the economy. Biden’s popularity among young people has also plunged since his inauguration in January 2021.
According to the poll, just 30% of college students and 32% of high school students approve of Biden. Those numbers are down from 62% and 58% respectively in 2021. Of college students who identify as liberal, just 42% approve of Biden’s performance.

The survey found that 63% of college students, a critical demographic for Biden’s re-election campaign, are not very or not confident at all in Biden’s ability to be an effective leader when it comes to young people.
Students were also polled on a range of policy issues from immigration to women&#8217;s sports with strong majorities saying it was unfair for males who identify as females to compete in women&#8217;s sports. Sixty-three percent of high schoolers and 60% of college students said it would be unfair at any level for a male identifying as a female to compete in a women&#8217;s athletic competition.
“Our polling shows the biggest issue young people care about right now is the economy,” said former Wisconsin GOP governor and Young America’s Foundation President Scott Walker. “It’s crucial that YAF continues to teach high school and college students the timeless principles of individual liberty and the free market so that future generations ensure the continued success of our great nation.”

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) blocked a pro-Israel event from happening on Wednesday, according to the conservative student group hosting the event.
The student group, UCLA&#8217;s Young America&#8217;s Foundation (YAF) chapter, <a href="https://yaf.org/news/ucla-pulls-plug-on-pro-israel-yaf-event-in-unconstitutional-move-to-placate-pro-hamas-radicals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://yaf.org/news/ucla-pulls-plug-on-pro-israel-yaf-event-in-unconstitutional-move-to-placate-pro-hamas-radicals/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1715985570476000&amp;usg=AOvVaw25oAi27VaQ5Jmp_zIUVzOb">accused</a> the university of caving to pressure from &#8220;pro-Hamas campus radicals&#8221; who have engaged in &#8220;violent&#8221; protests and encampments for weeks.
The event was slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The featured speaker was author and counter-Jihad expert Robert Spencer.
However, on the day of the event, the YAF team discovered that the doors to the event room were locked, the student chairman of UCLA&#8217;s YAF chapter, Matthew Weinberg told The Daily Wire.
When they contacted university officials, they were informed that their event would need to be relocated to a &#8220;very old and inconvenient&#8221; location on campus that is much less trafficked, Weinberg said. This was an &#8220;unacceptable last minute change that would have significantly impacted the event’s attendance and impact,&#8221; YAF said in a <a href="https://yaf.org/news/ucla-pulls-plug-on-pro-israel-yaf-event-in-unconstitutional-move-to-placate-pro-hamas-radicals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://yaf.org/news/ucla-pulls-plug-on-pro-israel-yaf-event-in-unconstitutional-move-to-placate-pro-hamas-radicals/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1715985570476000&amp;usg=AOvVaw25oAi27VaQ5Jmp_zIUVzOb">post</a> about the incident.
&#8220;Ultimately, we were barred from utilizing the designated room for our event,&#8221; Weinberg said, adding that he had reserved the room over a month ago.
Administrators allegedly refused to open the locked doors, citing &#8220;security concerns.&#8221;
In the weeks prior, UCLA administrators also allegedly stalled the event&#8217;s approval process, according to the student group. Administrators told the group that if the pro-Palestinian encampment was still in place on the day of the event, it would be too dangerous for an event expressing opposing views to happen, the group said.
The student group brought in legal counsel and contested that decision, arguing that it was an unconstitutional use of the heckler’s veto. At first, the university appeared to reconsider.
&#8220;The school threw up roadblock after roadblock to try and prevent the event from happening. Eventually, the school granted approval, albeit on very short notice,&#8221; Weinberg said.
In the end though, the event was blocked, the group said.

&#8220;The move is also a clear violation of students’ constitutional rights,&#8221; YAF said in its post.
UCLA said it was &#8220;misinformation&#8221; that the event was canceled.
&#8220;The event took place in the designated location after it shifted to a closed, recorded event as proposed by the organizer and agreed to by UCLA,&#8221; Mary Osako, vice chancellor of strategic communications at UCLA, said in a statement to The Daily Wire.
YAF pushed back on the university&#8217;s characterization, saying the event never took place.
&#8220;The statement from UCLA is not correct. To be clear, our event did not take place,&#8221; YAF told The Daily Wire.
YAF&#8217;s president, former Wisconsin governor Scott Walker, warned that YAF is prepared to take UCLA to court over the issue.
&#8220;Conservative students should have the same rights as the pro-Hamas students who have routinely obstructed and violently disrupted the UCLA campus,&#8221; Walker said in a statement to The Daily Wire.
&#8220;UCLA canceled YAF’s access to the lecture hall while allowing protestors to freely roam the campus. Like we did against UC, Berkeley, YAF will prevail against UCLA in court!&#8221; Walker said.
Weinberg, the YAF chapter student chairman, expressed disappointment at the university&#8217;s move.
&#8220;Our chapter harbors profound disappointment towards the administration for permitting unlawful pro-Hamas encampments to flout both legal statutes and school policies, thereby enabling these agitators and students to perpetrate physical harassment and assaults against Jewish students,&#8221; Weinburg said. &#8220;Our sole intent was to host a Pro-Israel event welcoming individuals of all backgrounds and viewpoints, aimed at fostering dialogue often absent from college campuses. This is not only a double standard, but a clear infringement upon our First Amendment rights.&#8221;
&#8220;As a result, we have chosen to pursue legal recourse,&#8221; he added.
Spencer, the event&#8217;s speaker, had strong words for the school, accusing it of indoctrinating students with leftist ideology.
“UCLA and other universities today are not institutions of higher learning; they are radioactive wastelands of hard-left indoctrination,” Spencer said.

A group of Republican attorneys general announced a new lawsuit against the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/biden-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Biden administration</a> over its changes to Title IX that would expand prohibitions on discrimination to include gender identity.
The 85-page <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2024/05/KS-Title-IX-Complaint-filing-copy.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a>, filed by Kansas, Utah, Alaska, Wyoming, Moms For Liberty, Young America’s Foundation, and Female Athletes United, says that the rule politicizes the education system to “conform to the radical ideological views of the Biden administration and its allies.”
The Education Department, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, the Justice Department, and Attorney General Merrick Garland are all named in the suit. Conservatives have argued that Biden’s changes to Title IX will endanger state laws keeping males out of women’s sports, bathrooms, and locker rooms.
“If Biden has his way, a 16-year-old female high school student on an overnight field trip could be forced to share a hotel room with a biological male who identifies as a girl or the district would risk losing federal funding,” <a href="https://adfmedia.org/press-release/more-states-girls-sue-biden-admin-illegal-attempt-rewrite-title-ix" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach. “A 14-year-old girl could be forced to share a locker room and change in front of an 18-year-old man who identifies as a woman or the district could lose funds. It’s unconscionable, it’s dangerous for girls and women, and it’s against federal law.”
During a press conference announcing the suit, Kobach said that there were multiple concerns with the rules, including the intrusion of transgender-identifying males into female spaces, loss of due process for students accused of sexual misconduct, and expansion of benefits for students and school staff for abortions.

“Sports should be free of politics, we’re not injecting politics into sports, we’re keeping politics out because it is a pure, ideological crusade that is driving this attempt to change women’s sports,” Kobach <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/963297708765749">said</a> during a press conference.
The suit argues that Biden’s new guidelines violate federal law, as well as the First, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments.
“This unlawful rule also robs girls and women of their opportunity to participate in their school’s education programs and activities, especially athletics, by forcing them to compete with biological males,” the suit says. “It forces both boys and girls, in their most formative years, to sacrifice their privacy in personal spaces such as restrooms, locker rooms, and even overnight accommodations.”
A number of other Republican officials <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/more-states-file-flurry-of-lawsuits-against-biden-admin-over-transgender-title-ix-rules" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have filed</a> challenges to Biden’s Title IX re-write, including Montana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Idaho, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina.

Daily Wire host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/andrew-klavan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Andrew Klavan</a> spoke to a crowd of students at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill on Wednesday, saying that American society’s embrace of transgenderism was teaching people to “live a lie.”
Klavan, who was brought to campus by the Young America’s Foundation, spoke to the college students about modern culture’s conception of the self in a speech entitled, “Sex, God, and Liberty.” During a Q&amp;A session after the speech, Klavan was asked to expound on his thoughts on transgenderism and why so many young people were starting to identify as transgender.
Klavan, host of “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/the-andrew-klavan-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Andrew Klavan Show</a>,” said that he believed that transgenderism denied reality and that people needed to push back acceptance of it in a “loving way.”
“We’re teaching people to live a lie, we’re teaching people that if they can just bully everybody into believing the lie it will somehow magically become true, and that has its roots in postmodern theory where language creates reality, which it just doesn’t. Language describes reality,” Klavan said. &#8220;All of these things to me are tremendously damaging and are going to get worse until people start pushing back against it in a loving way.&#8221;
The bestselling author said that some young people were being pushed to embrace transgenderism because they believed that all men and all women needed to be exactly the same. He said that this belief was leading them to adopt an identity he said would be harmful to them.
“I know people, young people who are having this problem and it breaks my heart because I think that moving into an area of falsehood is going to make them miserable in the long run,”  Klavan said.

Earlier in his speech, Klavan talked about the push for people to accept the phrase “trans women are women,” a slogan frequently posted across X. Klavan said the problem with the statement was that it was “not true” and it would lead to people living unhappy lives. 
He added that transgender ideology seemed to specifically target women because of the modern disdain for true femininity. 
“I can tell you from a lifetime of experience that if you live by things that are untrue you will be miserable,” Klavan said. “It’s just not a true statement. Words have meanings and the meanings of those words don’t make any sense. You can change, declare the meaning, but we all know what a woman is.”

Daily Wire host Michael Knowles spoke to a large crowd at the University of Utah on Monday night, calling out the growing trend — especially among young Americans – of transgender identity.
At the beginning of his Young America&#8217;s Foundation speech, Knowles, who has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-knew-the-libs-were-going-to-run-with-it-knowles-says-call-to-eradicate-transgender-ideology-cornered-left-wing-media" target="_blank" rel="noopener">angered the Left</a> with past comments on transgenderism, said he was surprised that even in “meek and mild Utah,” he saw a video of “some wild banshee-like lady accosting, assaulting one of the students here as the student was hanging up flyers for this lecture tonight.”
Knowles said the video was proof that conservatives across the country, even in Utah, are not safe from being thrown into the middle of a culture war where common sense is met with the hatred of leftists.
“The commonsense view to which the protester objected is banal and self-evident: men and women are different, men can’t become women, and women can’t become men,” Knowles said.
The universal truth surrounding human beings’ biology has been challenged in Western cultures around the globe, but radical transgender theory and the confusion it brings seems to be most prevalent in the U.S., according to Knowles.
“Contrary to the pretensions of purple-haired, perpetually aggrieved American leftists, the obsession with turning fellas into ladies is not universal. Transgenderism is a largely American phenomenon.”
“According to a recent <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/06/28/new-study-on-rise-in-transgender-shows-its-a-fad-especially-among-young-girls/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a> out of Virginia Tech’s School of Medicine, 80% of sampled diagnoses of ‘gender dysphoria’ come from the United States. Eighty percent. Is there something in our water? Is it the seed oils? Maybe it is the seed oils,” the Daily Wire host added, sparking laughter from the audience. “Is it something in the air? Maybe. I suspect, however, it has more to do with politics and social fads, but whatever the cause, transgenderism seems to be an especially American problem.”
Knowles cited a 2016 <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/01/health/transgender-population.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from The New York Times, which found that even eight years ago, the number of adults identifying as transgender in the U.S. had doubled in five years. Pew Research also found that <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2022/06/07/about-5-of-young-adults-in-the-u-s-say-their-gender-is-different-from-their-sex-assigned-at-birth/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">more than 5%</a> of American adults under the age of 30 identify as “transgender” or “nonbinary” and were three times more likely than the general population to identify as “trans.”

“There are not sufficient data to say that America is the most ‘trans’ country in the world. There’s a lot of evidence to suggest it. But then other surveys award that dubious distinction to Brazil or alternately to Germany, to Sweden, to Switzerland. We just don’t know,” said Knowles. “Transgenderism is a weird, relatively new, still-niche thing, and we don’t yet have reliable numbers. We probably won’t have reliable numbers any time soon because trans identity is growing exponentially.”
Knowles pointed out how other Western nations, such as Sweden, Finland, and France, began pumping the brakes on and even outright banning transgender procedures for children while the U.S. has continued moving forward with offering life-altering gender surgeries and hormonal drugs to minors.
“As Europe began to ban the trans-ing of kids, America’s rulers—up to and including Mr. Biden—issued orders to expand it,” Knowles said.
Knowles added that the president, who has been described as a &#8220;devout Catholic&#8221; by legacy media and White House staff, has doubled down on his embrace of &#8220;transgender ideology&#8221; over the course of his administration, even proclaiming March 31 of this year as “Trans Day of Visibility” when the 31st was Easter Sunday.
“Joe Biden, of course, has never been deterred from error by his supposed faith,” Knowles said. “So while practically everyone turns away from transgender ideology, Joe Biden has doubled down. And it’s not just Biden; it’s the whole American political establishment. When it comes to transgender ideology, America is a radical outlier.”

A recent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/catholic-university-blocks-matt-walsh-from-speaking-on-campus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Matt Walsh</a> appearance at New Mexico State University upset two New Mexico state senators so much that they are now asking the university to address the “policies” that allowed Walsh to speak on campus. 
Democratic State Sens. Carrie Hamblen and William Soules, along with seven other state, county, and municipal government officials, signed the letter last month addressed to the NMSU Board of Regents interim president. In the letter, the officials expressed their “extreme disappointment” that the university allowed Walsh to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWwPdkzatkQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">speak on campus</a> at a Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) event in April. 
The letter, first <a href="https://yaf.org/news/state-senator-wants-to-ban-conservative-speakers-after-successful-matt-walsh-yaf-lecture/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by Young America’s Foundation, accused Walsh of “encouraging violence” and “spouting racist and pro-slavery rhetoric.” The officials also accused Walsh of “minimizing accusations against known pedophiles and child abusers” without providing any basis to level the accusation. 
“As you prepare for new students coming in the fall, we would welcome a serious conversation about the rationale for allowing this type of event that would knowingly frighten and harm part of the student population, learn who in the administration supported this, and what policies or actions will be taken in the future to prevent further emotional and psychological damage to some of the most vulnerable in your student population,” the letter states. 
As noted by Young America’s Foundation, NMSU’s status as a public university means it had no basis to prevent Walsh from speaking on campus after he had been invited by the club that went through all the proper channels to host the event. 
“NMSU had a responsibility to shield the trans and queer individuals, many of whom were disregarded when expressing their concerns and fears because of the Walsh event,” the letter adds, citing <a href="https://www.krqe.com/news/politics-government/legislature/governor-expands-human-rights-act-in-new-mexico/#:~:text=House%20Bill%20207%20clarifies%20the,%2C%20disabilities%2C%20and%20sexual%20orientation." target="_blank" rel="noopener">House Bill 207</a>, which requires the state&#8217;s Human Rights Act to apply to all New Mexico government agencies, institutions, cities, counties, and public contractors. The bill also adds definitions for sex, gender, gender identity, disabilities, and sexual orientation to the Human Rights Act. 
Interim President Jay Gouge reportedly asked Jewel Navarette, the chairwoman of the NMSU YAF, to meet with him and Hamblen. Navarette said she and her fellow conservative students will continue to stand up for their First Amendment rights.  
“We will continue to fight for the right to free speech and expression on our campus,” she said. “These public officials have no right to say what kind of ideas can or cannot be expressed at NMSU.”

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/university-of-san-diego" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University of San Diego</a> has blocked a request from a group of college Republicans to bring Daily Wire host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/matt-walsh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Matt Walsh</a> to speak on campus, with members of the campus’s student government calling Walsh’s beliefs “grossly offensive.”
Members of the USD College Republicans had hoped to bring Walsh to the private Catholic university, but were denied approval by campus administrators and the student government, which unanimously voted against approving an event with Walsh, <a href="https://yaf.org/news/university-of-san-diego-bans-matt-walsh-speech-calls-conservative-beliefs-grossly-offensive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to the New Guard</a>, a publication of the Young America&#8217;s Foundation. 
While the council turned down the request for funding needed to host the event, the council has approved events with prominent Left-wing speakers like Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrice Cullors and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). Schiff has been a vocal supporter of abortion, which firmly violates the Catholic teachings on the sanctity of life. 
“I feel as though conservatives and Catholics are discriminated against for simply holding onto their religious beliefs,” USD College Republicans President Alyssa Jackson told the New Guard. “We hope that we can still bring Matt Walsh to voice conservative beliefs on campus, which are heavily underrepresented. We face discrimination from professors and peers everyday for our values and we believe that Matt would be a strong advocate for our cause.”
Jackson later met with USD administrators who she said told her that the views expressed by Walsh, a Catholic, are not in line with Catholic Social Teaching and are “grossly offensive.”
“The university is in full support of freedom of expression and freedom of inquiry … that’s the basis of a university,” Assistant Vice President for Student Life Byron Howlett reportedly said. “But it’s also a delicate balancing act because we have a duty to protect our community members as well. In that case, that usurps that freedom of inquiry and freedom of expression.”
This view was shared by student senator Isabella Sevilla, who was reportedly involved in bringing a drag event to campus during the spring semester. 
“As a Catholic institution, I do think that it is one of the most important things that we hold our Catholic faith first and if he does not align with the values of the Catholic church then that is something we should consider regarding allocating funding,” she said. 
Sharing the story on Instagram, the USD College Republicans <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CwOmhpFtppv/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">urged</a> followers to “reach out to USD via email to show your support for freedom of speech and diversity of opinions at USD.”

A new survey shows that the majority of young people believe that President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> should face a primary challenge as his popularity among the demographic continues to decline. 
The <a href="https://yaf.org/news/new-yaf-poll-students-rally-behind-presidential-age-limits-bidens-gen-z-appeal-declines-trump-should-debate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">survey</a> was taken by Echelon Insights and commissioned by the Young America’s Foundation (YAF), and asked 1,650 high school and college students for their views on a variety of political and social issues. 
56% of high schoolers <a href="https://issuu.com/young.americas.foundation/docs/young_america_s_foundation_2023_survey_deck_1_?fr=xKAE9_zU1NQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">say</a> that Biden should face a serious primary challenge with 61% of college students agreeing, including 68% of high school students who identify as liberal and 62% of college students who identify as liberal. 
Biden currently faces challenges from Marianne Williamson and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the latter of whom has reached up to 20% of support from Democrats in some polls. 
The president’s approval has dipped down from 2021 among both high schoolers and college students, according to the survey. Among high school students his approval has dropped from 58% to 33% and disapproval has jumped 29% to 47%. Among college students his approval has dropped from 62% to 38% and disapproval jumped from 28% to 51%. 
The economy was a top issue for both college and high school students, though school safety slightly edged out economic concerns for high schoolers. Issues of race relations, immigration, and political corruption ranked as less important issues for both demographics. 
Both groups also expressed support for mandating a maximum age for presidential candidates with nearly three fourths of college students backing the idea of age restrictions. Those who favored age restrictions typically voiced support for an age somewhere between the ages of 60-69 as the oldest a presidential candidate could be. 
Just 19% of the high school students surveyed identified as conservative or somewhat conservative while 21% of college students identified as conservative or somewhat conservative. The most common ideological identification for both was moderate, including 33% of high school students and 32% of college students. 
“In the leadup to GOP primary debate, our polling shows Gen Z students across the political spectrum care about a range of important issues – including a candidate’s age and the need to feel safe in their schools. Strikingly though, the top issue among young voters is the economy,” former Wisconsin governor and current YAF President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/scott-walker" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Scott Walker</a> said in a statement. “Many are concerned they won’t be able to find a job that pays well, start a business, or be able to afford housing when they graduate from college. Everyone in the 2024 race would be wise to focus on the issues that matter to this important voting bloc.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/michael-knowles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michael Knowles</a> received a warm welcome at East Tennessee State University for the latest installment in his speaking tour for Young America’s Foundation, titled &#8220;How The Left Hoaxes Its Way To Power.&#8221;
“When I got into the lecture hall for my last few speeches, there was also a lot of screaming,” Knowles noted, before adding that the thunderous applause was “a little different.”
He also thanked the school’s Young Democratic Socialists for “proving the point of my speech before I even began to write it.”
The aforementioned organization publicly lobbied the university to rescind the Daily Wire host’s invitation to speak, claiming that Knowles threatened “the lives of trans and all queer people” and advocated for “genocide.”
Their claims echoed the libelous falsehoods shared by prominent Left-wing media outlets and even sitting members of Congress after Knowles delivered a speech calling for “the complete eradication of transgenderism from public life.” Knowles made clear in the initial speech that he was sympathetic to people with gender dysphoria and was not calling for any sort of violence against them, instead directing his ire at the ideology at the root of many people’s confusion, but many outlets claimed Knowles was calling for genocide of transgender people.
Knowles also cited LGBT activist and former Tennessee state senate candidate Kate Craig, who tweeted that Knowles “Literally called for trans people to be exterminated … there’s nothing civil about him.”
This dovetailed neatly with the topic of Knowles’ lecture — Knowles went so far as to say that they “relieved [him] of the responsibility of writing a speech” because the outcry against him proved his premise more succinctly than anything else could.

Knowles argued that similar tactics dated as far back as the 1960s, citing an incident where student activists at <a href="https://www.hoover.org/research/day-cornell-died" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cornell University</a> staged a cross burning outside of black student dormitories to justify armed militants storming and seizing university buildings and to demand concessions from the school.
Knowles also cited the case of Jussie Smollett — immortalized by comedian Dave Chappelle as “Juicy Smoo-yay” — who falsely claimed that he was assaulted by Trump supporters in an attempted lynching. Knowles said that even after Smollett’s story was proven false, those who had previously promoted the story argued that it “spoke to a greater truth,” namely that it advanced a narrative about race hatred that was politically beneficial to Democratic interests.
“Time and time again, the incidents that liberals tout as justification for advancing their political agenda on race, on sex, on everything, turn out to be hoaxes. It is all Jussie Smollett, it is Jussie Smollett all the way down — especially on campuses.”

Another Walsh protester denounced &#8220;white people&#8221; for being &#8220;f***ing racist.&#8221; It&#8217;s unclear why &#8220;white people&#8221; were attacked in relation to Walsh&#8217;s speech.

Other protesters vandalized a campus building dedicated to veterans, writing, &#8220;Trans women are women &#8211; F*** Matt Walsh and YAF.&#8221; 
“Today we saw an absolutely inexcusable act of vandalism on our most beloved campus building, which is dedicated to veterans, ahead of [Matt Walsh’s] visit,” the university’s YAF chapter posted, captioning photos of the damage, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wisconsin-college-campus-vandalized-ahead-of-matt-walshs-speech" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> reported.

Moreover, Dean of Students Christina Olstad and Gabe Javier, an associate vice chancellor, put out a statement on social media over the weekend offering their support to transgender students ahead of the event.

Those trying to watch the Young America’s Foundation (YAF) livestream of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/matt-walsh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Matt Walsh</a>’s University of Houston speech Thursday night were met with an unavailable video, and leftist student employees are being blamed.
YAF <a href="https://www.yaf.org/news/leftist-student-employees-likely-sabotaged-live-stream-for-walsh-event-at-university-of-houston/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> following the event that it believes it is likely that student employees who opposed Walsh&#8217;s speech disrupted the livestream. Part of the speech was seen on YAF&#8217;s YouTube page, but poor audio made it impossible to hear what Walsh was saying. The livestream later became completely unavailable.
“One of the student workers, Ky Lai, was in communication with members of a leftist coalition, ‘Stop Transphobia @ UH,’ and shared that she would be working behind the scenes. After YAF became aware of this student worker’s postings, she was removed from the event, and a bomb sweep was conducted,” Nick Baker, assistant editor for YAF’s The New Guard, <a href="https://www.yaf.org/news/leftist-student-employees-likely-sabotaged-live-stream-for-walsh-event-at-university-of-houston/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>.
According to Baker, several student workers were required by the university to remain on site for the event and had access to YAF’s streaming equipment in the hours before Walsh’s speech.
Earlier in the night, a person protesting the event was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed by police. Video of the incident showed the masked protester, who had made it inside the event venue, on the ground and surrounded by five police officers who were attempting to arrest him. The protestor appeared to be carrying a small transgender flag that ended up on the ground beside him.

Officers finally handcuffed the protester and escorted him outside, where a group of protestors can be heard chanting in the background of the video. In another video, the group outside Walsh’s event shouts, “What do we want? Walsh out! When do we want it? Now!”

“I have taken their feedback into consideration but unfortunately I must decline their request at this time,” the Daily Wire host responded in a tweet.
The protesters were vastly outnumbered by those who were attending the event that included a screening of “What is a Woman?” followed by a speech from Walsh. Long lines formed around the building for the event in the hours leading up to it, and officers from the Houston Police Department sat on horseback as protesters and attendees arrived.
In the days leading up to the event, an anarchist group attempted to form a protest to counter what they call Walsh’s “transphobia.”
“On Thursday, far-right bigot and transphobe Matt Walsh will be on campus! We must oppose this hate!” a social media announcement from Space City AO said. “The majority of UH students and workers reject this hatred! We must organize the largest possible counter-protest to make sure Matt Walsh and other bigots know they’re unwelcome!”
A Texas Democratic state representative even joined the protesters outside the event. “U of H no place for hate!” Rep. Jon Rosenthal chanted with the crowd.

Saint Louis University campus police officers escorted a conservative speaker off campus on Tuesday while allowing leftist protesters to remain.
Young America’s Foundation (YAF) speaker Elisha Krauss was forced off of campus property, but remained on a public sidewalk just outside of the Catholic University where she continued her speaking event with fellow free speech activists.
&#8220;Proud to take a stand against the intolerant left who for two hours called me an old a**, a b***h, and a fascist,&#8221; Krauss told The Daily Wire’s Ian Haworth.
“I defend their rights to free speech the same as anyone else,” Krauss added. “Too bad they wouldn’t engage in a discussion or debate about political beliefs.”

The YAF noted that the move stood in stark contrast with the university&#8217;s treatment of a Black Lives Matter event at the same location.
&#8220;St. Louis University, which purports to be a Catholic university, escorted the YAF activists and Krauss from the center of campus––despite BLM protestors being allowed to host many protests in the same spot. The pro-abortion counter protestors were allowed to remain at the same location for an additional 20 minutes,&#8221; the YAF <a href="https://www.yaf.org/news/saint-louis-university-removes-elisha-krauss-from-campus-irate-leftists-protest-her-sidewalk-demonstration/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;The free speech demonstration was initiated after SLU refused to sign a contract for an official on-campus event featuring Krauss for four weeks. Krauss was scheduled to speak on the dangers on cancel culture,&#8221; the report added.
The YAF has tweeted that it plans to investigate the university&#8217;s double standard of denying free speech on its campus.

Nick Baker, chairman of SLU YAF, said the university’s behavior was shameful, according to YAF&#8217;s report.
“For a university that is ‘committed to freedom of expression,’ it is shameful that there are so many hurdles in place to prevent speakers from appearing on campus. Unfortunately, these tyrannical administrators have scared so many conservative students into hiding. Our YAF chapter is slowly but surely working to turn things around,” he said in a statement.
The leftist attack was not the first at Saint Louis University. In December, Daily Wire host Matt Walsh <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-matt-walsh-greets-scores-of-protesters-outside-his-st-louis-event-poses-one-simple-question" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confronted</a> scores of demonstrators protesting his lecture.
A crowd of anti-Walsh protesters demanded that The Daily Wire host and bestselling children’s book author cancel the event, a speech for students of St. Louis University. The protesters blocked a street immediately outside the venue and chanted slogans such as “Hey-hey, ho-ho, Matt Walsh has got to go!” and “black lives matter!”
At one point during the protest, Walsh walked out of the venue accompanied by law enforcement to speak with the protesters. The Daily Wire host was met with boos, chants, and one man screaming, “Do not come over here!” The crowd took several steps back as Walsh approached.
“I went out to say hi to my protesters and give them a chance to answer my ‘what is a woman’ question. They declined, it seems,” Walsh posted on Twitter with a video of the confrontation.
