<p class="p1">June 23 marked the 54th anniversary of Title IX, a law whose passage deserves a moment to reflect on what this landmark accomplished.</p>
<p class="p1">For more than five decades, Title IX has expanded opportunities for generations of women and girls in education and athletics. It created pathways that previous generations could only dream of. Because of Title IX, millions of young women have had the opportunity to compete, earn scholarships, develop leadership skills, and pursue excellence on a level playing field.</p>
<p class="p1">I am one of those women.</p>
<p class="p1">As a former Division I track and field athlete, I dedicated years of my life to pursuing athletic success. Like so many female athletes, I woke up before sunrise for practice, sacrificed social events, trained through injuries, and pushed myself physically and mentally to compete at the highest level. Those sacrifices paid off when I won the Big Sky Conference championship in the 800-meter and set my sights on even greater goals.</p>
<p class="p1">Then, during my final year of eligibility, I learned I would be <a href="https://www.iwfeatures.com/profile/the-female-college-athlete-whose-years-of-training-may-now-be-in-vain/"><span class="s1">competing against</span></a> a biological male athlete who had previously competed in the men&#8217;s category. Suddenly, the reality of competition changed.</p>
<p class="p1">Athletes are taught to overcome obstacles. If someone is faster, you train harder. If someone is stronger, you improve your technique. But no training program can eliminate biological differences between males and females. Males can run approximately <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/IWLC_3rd-Edition_Competition-Report.pdf"><span class="s1">11% faster</span></a> than females, and can accelerate around <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/IWLC_3rd-Edition_Competition-Report.pdf"><span class="s1">20% faster</span></a> than females. No amount of determination or additional hours of training can erase the physical advantages that Title IX recognized when it created separate athletic categories in the first place.</p>
<p class="p1">This is why the Supreme Court&#8217;s <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/2026/01/15/scotus-snapshot-womens-sports/"><span class="s1">upcoming decisions</span></a> on <i>Little v. Hecox</i> and <i>West Virginia v. B.P.J. </i>regarding women&#8217;s sports matters so much.</p>
<p class="p1">At its core, the question before the Court is not whether every individual deserves dignity and respect. They do. The question is whether female athletes will continue to be a protected category in which success is determined by talent, discipline, and hard work rather than by biological advantages.</p>
<p class="p1">When Congress passed Title IX in 1972, lawmakers understood that equal opportunity did not mean identical treatment. Women&#8217;s sports were created precisely because sex-based differences matter in athletic competition. Without separate categories, female athletes would lose opportunities to compete, earn scholarships, win championships, and break records.</p>
<p class="p1">That reality has not changed. Therefore, the Supreme Court should easily be able to come to a unanimous conclusion — biological reality does exist.</p>
<p class="p1">Supporters of allowing biological males to compete in women&#8217;s sports often frame the issue as one of inclusion. But inclusion cannot come at the expense of fairness. Asking female athletes to surrender opportunities that Title IX was designed to protect is not advancing women&#8217;s rights — it is diminishing them.</p>
<p class="p1">For years, many female athletes have remained silent because speaking out carries consequences. We have been told that raising concerns about fairness makes us intolerant or discriminatory. Yet the very existence of women&#8217;s sports is based on recognizing <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/IWLC_3rd-Edition_Competition-Report.pdf"><span class="s1">biological differences</span></a>. Defending that principle is not discrimination. It is the foundation of women&#8217;s athletics.</p>
<p class="p1">To me, Title IX means opportunity, equality, and empowerment. Through track, I found my confidence, developed leadership skills, and discovered my voice. I am forever grateful for the protections this law provides, ensuring that women like me can thrive both on and off the field.</p>
<p class="p1">As we celebrate another year of Title IX, we should remember why the law was necessary in the first place. Women fought for decades to gain access to athletic opportunities. They fought for scholarships, facilities, coaching resources, and the chance to compete against one another on fair terms.</p>
<p class="p1">Those hard-won gains deserve protection.</p>
<p class="p1">The Supreme Court now has an opportunity to reaffirm a simple principle: women deserve their own space in sports. Not because we are less capable, but because equal opportunity requires fair competition.</p>
<p class="p1">That was the promise of Title IX 54 years ago. It should remain a promise we keep.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Radical leftist Senate candidate Graham Platner said that the real “reason” conservatives care about men in women’s sports is that billionaires are afraid of a wealth tax.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He claimed that social concerns, such as the transgender sports issue, are manufactured by billionaire donors to distract voters from economic issues. He suggested that the well-funded campaign against him is strictly a result of his proposed tax increases. </span></p>
<p>&#8220;They want us arguing about trans kids in sports so we don&#8217;t ask about why the hospital closed. That&#8217;s the point,&#8221; Platner said. &#8220;And the reason I know that&#8217;s the point is that entire campaign was funded by one billionaire who lives in Illinois. He was afraid that if they don&#8217;t get to use bigotry to drive people out to the polls in November, they might lose, and his taxes are going to go up. And he&#8217;s right. They sure as hell are.&#8221;</p>

He once sported a Nazi tattoo, has had an account on a messaging app that&#8217;s been called a child predator &#8220;paradise,&#8221; and has made misogynistic comments dismissive of rape.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He has launched an insurgent campaign against sitting Republican Sen. Susan Collins, focused primarily on far-Left economics and staunch anti-Israel stances. Collins has consistently </span><a href="https://www.newsmax.com/politics/sen-susan-collins-lugar-index-most-bipartisan-lawmaker/2018/05/05/id/858554/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">ranked</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> as the most bipartisan senator in Congress.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Platner has been a vocal supporter of a wealth tax. When Elon Musk became the first person to reach a net worth of over $1 trillion, Platner <a href="https://x.com/grahamformaine/status/2065434412984963208">called on</a> voters to make sure he was the “last” trillionaire. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The argument that social issues are a distraction from class warfare is a familiar socialist claim. The Democratic Socialists of America, an extremist Left-wing group of which Platner is a former member, </span><a href="https://platform.dsausa.org/program/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">states</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that “culture wars are intended to pit workers against each other to empower a Right-wing government.” </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">President Donald Trump referenced a joke on Thursday that he made with his new friend, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, to hammer his point about trans athletes attempting to compete in women&#8217;s sports.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">“He’s a big strong guy, and I said, how do you think you would do in women’s sports, Jaxson,” Trump said he asked Dart. “He said, ‘Pretty good, sir.’ He didn’t know I was joking.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Trump made the comment while speaking to the media at the White House when he recalled his conversation with Dart while discussing the Supreme Court coming to a decision on biological men participating in women’s sports. While Trump&#8217;s comment was just a joke, it allowed him to state the obvious regarding the hypothetical. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">“He would’ve been the greatest athlete in the history of women’s sports,” Trump said. “You should see the size of this guy, he’s like a male model, he’s going to be a great quarterback.”</span></p>

Mike Lawler (R-NY) in Suffern, New York, on May 22. Dart, who publicly stated how honored he was to present the president at the event, was ridiculed by leftist outlets, sports media moguls, and even teammate Abdul Carter, who took to X to voice his </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/muslim-nfl-players-post-criticizing-pro-trump-teammate-backfires"><span style="font-weight: 400">frustration</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Despite the backlash, Dart stood his ground, supporting America and the president of the United States.</span></p>

<p>A male athlete named AB Hernandez won three events at a girls sectional final tournament in California over the weekend, forcing female athletes to share the podium with him.</p>
<p>Still, the athlete&#8217;s mother believes her son is the real victim.</p>
<p>Hernandez, from Jurupa Valley High School, took first place in the girls long jump, high jump, and triple jump at the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section finals in Division 3.</p>
<p>Due to new rules, female athletes who would have won first place if it were not for Hernandez, a male, participating in the girls contest, had to share the first place spot on the podium.</p>
<p>Hernandez was not present at one ceremony, but later shared a spot with female winner Gwynneth Mureika, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/outkick-sports/trans-track-athlete-ab-hernandezs-mom-shares-critical-post-school-officials-podium-placements">according</a> to OutKick. At another ceremony, the female athlete did not show up and Hernandez had the top spot on the podium to himself.</p>
<p>The trans-identifying athlete&#8217;s mother shared a post from &#8220;Rainbow Families Action&#8221; on Instagram, which excoriated the new rules and claimed Hernandez was the one being bullied.</p>
<p>&#8220;All these big tough ex-athletes at CIF, and the most courage they could muster was to hand this to coaches at AB’s meet today,&#8221; the post said, captioning a letter about the new rules that allow female athletes to advance and share the podium.</p>
<p>&#8220;Not one of them was brave enough to look her or her mother in the eye and say &#8216;This whole project of violating Ed Code is aimed at you. A child,'&#8221; the post continued. &#8220;Government sanctioned bullying of a kid?&#8221;</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In the battle over </span><a href="https://adflegal.org/campaign/winning-the-battle-against-gender-ideology/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Title IX</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, which was once designed to provide women </span><a href="https://www.ncaa.org/sports/2014/1/27/title-ix-frequently-asked-questions.aspx#title"><span style="font-weight: 400;">equal opportunity in sports</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, XX-XY offered sanctuary from </span><a href="https://edworkforce.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=411780"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Biden-era policies</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that allowed an </span><a href="https://katv.com/news/nation-world/lia-thomas-exposed-male-genitalia-in-womens-locker-room-at-swim-meet-ex-swimmer-says"><span style="font-weight: 400;">intact man</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> claiming to be a “woman” to strip down in front of female swimmers and, in another case, spike a volleyball so hard it led to another athlete’s </span><a href="https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/cmte_testimony/2025/wam/1E52PALNHjL37zcTICExf7g4TqIaF3cuW.pdf"><span style="font-weight: 400;">concussion</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> during a high school game. Adding insult to injury, biological male athletes regularly broke women’s records, stole nearly </span><a href="https://kfoxtv.com/news/nation-world/un-study-reveals-transgender-athletes-have-won-nearly-900-medals-in-womens-competitions-united-nations-sports-lgbt-gender-identity-title-ix-athletics"><span style="font-weight: 400;">900 women’s medals</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, and hijacked hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money and </span><a href="https://www.akleg.gov/basis/get_documents.asp?session=32&amp;docid=80468"><span style="font-weight: 400;">scholarships</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The devastating fallout was no surprise. </span><a href="https://womeninsport.org/transgender-inclusion-womens-sport/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Men are stronger</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, faster, taller, leaner, and more muscular and have larger lung capacity than women. Period. Extremely </span><a href="https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10795902/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">limited research</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> showed that “physical performance of nonathletic trans people who have undergone [gender-affirming hormone therapy] for at least two years approaches that of cisgender controls.” It wasn’t close to being fair.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">President Donald Trump </span><a href="https://youtu.be/2-QfaFvxxQA?t=48"><span style="font-weight: 400;">signed an executive order</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> declaring an end to the war on women’s sports </span><a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/keeping-men-out-of-womens-sports/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">in 2025</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. But for Humphries, who spent her entire career advocating for equality in bobsledding, some battle scars last a lifetime.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She’s currently the women’s athlete rep for the </span><a href="https://www.ibsf.org/en/news/detail/ibsf-athletes-elected-their-representatives-for-the-athletes-committee"><span style="font-weight: 400;">International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, competing for the U.S. on the world stage, but back when she was a citizen of her native Canada, Humphries was forced to advocate for a fair shake. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“When I first started in the sport, women didn&#8217;t compete on all the same bobsled tracks,” she says. “We weren&#8217;t good enough, is what we were told, so we were given the easy tracks, the soft tracks. I had to go compete against the men with an all-women&#8217;s crew at the World Cup because that was the only way they were going to allow us to showcase that we are skilled enough, fast enough, strong enough. I was told no one wants to see women crash. Women can&#8217;t do this. You can&#8217;t move the weight. It&#8217;s too dangerous.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If this sounds like some kind of vintage vision of sports, Humphries says the balance was still off as recently as 2018. “[Women] didn&#8217;t have equal medal opportunity for four of the six Olympics I&#8217;ve been to,” she explains. “The men were getting a lot more prize money than the women were getting for the exact same stuff. There were some races when you were given, like, a cheese plate, and the guys were getting prize money.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Humphries was also advised that she’d lose her competitive edge if she </span><a href="https://www.xx-xyathletics.com/blogs/newsroom/kaillie-humphries-the-ultimate-athlete-mom?srsltid=AfmBOorPqjXwPrSwA44AlHTc0ZJbGCxRRpZWjmqM2J8Ew6YN8Hv4jCJc"><span style="font-weight: 400;">got pregnant</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. But instead of abiding by other people’s limits, she followed her gut. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The number of women who let go of career or family goals because they believe both can’t exist is uncountable. Humphries wants to change that. She established her </span><a href="https://trailblazeher.com/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">TrailblazeHER</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> foundation to support elite female athletes with financial assistance and wellness resources as they go for Olympic and Paralympic gold. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So how can every woman go all in off the bobsled track? Whether it’s bench pressing a few pounds or learning to play the piano, start by believing in yourself. “Find your people, chase your dreams … don&#8217;t listen to the limitations that people put on you,” Humphries says. “It&#8217;s the greatest satisfaction when we can be the best versions of ourselves by showing up for our goals and dreams.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Along with her dedicated mental game, she attributes her success to her stellar support system and suggests surrounding yourself with your biggest fans. “It might be the friend down the street, it might be a grandparent, whoever it is, a coach, a therapist, stick close to those people.” It’s not uncommon for Humphries to train alongside her </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DUlYrNrgYGT/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">husband, her son</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, and </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DUU75YWinaV/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">her team</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> among the many people equally dedicated to her goals. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In 2021, Humphries became an American citizen so she could compete for the U.S. at the </span><a href="https://www.espn.com/olympics/bobsled/story/_/id/32773308/ex-canadian-bobsled-star-kaillie-humphries-sworn-american-citizen-clearing-compete-us-beijing"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Beijing Olympics</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Five years later, in May 2026, she accepted her third invitation to the White House to be honored at a Mother’s Day event in the Rose Garden. Her chic </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DYIWeoPyHAq/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">cherry blossom pink suit</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> put a demure spin on her signature tattoos. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When I ask her what her next bit of ink might be, she confirms “something for Cortina,” but also shares some news. “Hopefully we can get pregnant again, and then that will change what tattoo I want to get.” After we joke that the only open real estate left may be her face and neck, she laughs, “My face? Never. <p class="p1"><span class="s1">In </span>a<a href="https://x.com/i/status/2040955108784021774"><span class="s2"> </span><span class="s3">recent episode of her podcast</span></a>, Megan Rapinoe, the<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/megan-rapinoe-rips-iocs-new-policy-protect-womens-sports-rejects-notion-rule-based-science"><span class="s2"> former co-captain of the U.S. National team</span></a>, railed against the IOC for a decision to protect women’s sports for female athletes by requiring a cheek swab for sex screening.</p>
<p class="p3">This traitorous position is now a deliberate choice by Rapinoe, Bird, and others like them. Now that their professional athletic careers are over, they have become henchwomen for men intent on blowing up the safeguarding boundaries young female athletes need in sports and in locker rooms.</p>
<p class="p3">It’s time to recognize that athletes like Rapinoe and Bird have lost touch with reality. When you undermine the fundamental principle that women and girls deserve their own protected sports category, you forfeit any credibility you once had as a voice in women’s sports. Their own careers and platforms are entirely due to the women who carved out space for female athletes, but now hypocritically advocate to destroy the safety and opportunities they enjoyed.</p>
<p class="p3">The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently made a policy statement affirming that women in sports deserve fairness, safety, and integrity. They recognize that screening for eligibility in competition is a necessary step to ensure women can compete on a level playing field. There is nothing controversial about that. Nothing.</p>
<p class="p3">We use scales to determine eligibility for weight categories. We use drug testing to ensure fairness across all categories. We require detailed physicals and medical assessments for para categories. We verify age for age-group competition. Screening for the male SRY gene through a quick and simple cheek swab is among the least invasive eligibility checks in sport.</p>
<p class="p3">Rapinoe, however, took issue with this decision, calling it “really hateful.” Her wife and podcast guest, former WNBA player Sue Bird, emphatically agreed, nodding along with each claim.</p>
<p class="p1">Rapinoe is correct in one respect: the decision is intended to “ultimately prevent people from competing in the women’s category that they feel have an unfair advantage.” Those individuals are male. The “people” the IOC is finally working to exclude from women’s sports are men, who possess inherent biological advantages.</p>
<p class="p1">The IOC’s screening focuses on the SRY gene, which is necessary for the development of male testes. If you have the SRY gene, you almost certainly undergo male development. Male athletes like<a href="https://www.hungarianconservative.com/articles/current/imane-khelif-y-chromosome-testosterone-paris-olympics-gold-medal-boxing/"><span class="s4"> </span><span class="s3">Imane Khelif</span></a> and Caster Semenya have made the rounds on public television after seizing Olympic glory and <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/sport/article/2024/aug/01/angela-carini-abandons-fight-after-46-seconds-against-imane-khelif"><span class="s3">causing physical harm to the women they </span></a>face in competition. Semenya’s statement that his “<a href="https://www.facebook.com/JustStraightTalking/videos/caster-semenya-my-testicles-dont-make-me-less-of-a-womanwhats-your-viewmalcolm-j/1917128098910153/"><span class="s3">testicles do not make [me] less of a woman</span></a>” has been widely cited.</p>
<p class="p1">We now understand that these male athletes are not isolated cases but two of dozens and dozens at the elite level. This has been a major scandal in women&#8217;s sports, and one that the IOC is finally trying to make right. It’s a return to common sense and a recognition that women absolutely deserve fair competition apart from men.</p>
<p class="p1">Megan Rapinoe&#8217;s suggestion that we cannot figure out what a woman is is crazy and simply untrue. She knows firsthand the performance differences between men and women and the effects of sex on athletic outcomes. It was her team, after all, who<a href="https://nypost.com/2023/11/10/sports/uswnt-star-carli-lloyd-admits-to-losing-to-u-15-boys-team/"><span class="s2"> </span><span class="s5">lost to a group of boys</span></a> playing for a U-15 team. If professional women athletes lose to a bunch of 15-year-olds, what chance would the women have against grown men? Her former co-captain, Carli Lloyd, <a href="https://x.com/CarliLloyd/status/1722578947181830432"><span class="s5">rightfully defended the loss</span></a> by noting that the size difference between the boys and the women all but guaranteed the youth team’s victory. “They should beat us. Bigger, stronger, faster!”</p>
<p class="p1">This isn’t hard. Eligibility screening for the women’s category <i>is</i> necessary. The real issue now is ensuring these protections extend beyond elite sport. Women and girls should not have to reach the Olympic level to be treated fairly. SRY gene screening should be implemented at every level.</p>
<p class="p1">Young girls who love sports deserve the chance to dream, compete, and succeed without being measured against a male standard. The IOC’s decision to deliver women’s sports back to women is the beginning of the end to this utter nonsense, and we’re leaving the traitors of women, like Rapinoe and Bird, in our dust.</p>

Megan Rapinoe Is A Bigger Enemy To Women Than Any ‘Patriarchy’

<p>The International Olympic Committee announced on Thursday that men who identify as women cannot compete in any female Olympic event, with implementation of the rule beginning at the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.</p>
<p>The committee called its decision &#8220;evidence-based and expert-informed,&#8221; adding that keeping men out of women&#8217;s sports &#8220;protects fairness, safety and integrity in the female category.&#8221; The move came after the International Olympic Committee board conducted a nearly two-year review and discussed the issue with numerous medical experts.</p>
<p>&#8220;The scientific evidence is very clear: male chromosomes give performance advantage in sports that rely on strength, power, or endurance,&#8221; IOC President Kirsty Coventry said. &#8220;At the Olympic Games, even the smallest margins can be the difference between victory and defeat, so it&#8217;s absolutely clear that it would not be fair for biological males to compete in the female category. In addition, in some sports, it would simply not be safe.&#8221;</p>
<p>Coventry, who took over as the committee&#8217;s first female president last June, has long pushed to protect women&#8217;s sports. Coventry was a collegiate swimmer at Auburn and participated in  five Olympic Games from 2000 to 2016, representing her home country of Zimbabwe.</p>
<p>The committee&#8217;s announcement comes as it prepares for the 2028 Olympic Games in the United States, which is being planned in coordination with President Donald Trump. Trump signed an executive order last February on &#8220;<a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/keeping-men-out-of-womens-sports/">Keeping Men out of Women&#8217;s Sports</a>&#8221; and also <a href="https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/43703874/trump-bar-transgender-athletes-competing-women-sports">warned</a> the International Olympic Committee about allowing men to compete in women&#8217;s sports, saying, &#8220;America categorically rejects transgender lunacy.&#8221;</p>
<p>After the committee&#8217;s announcement on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt <a href="https://x.com/presssec/status/2037164376856105056?s=46">said</a>, &#8220;You cannot change your sex. President Trump&#8217;s Executive Order protecting women&#8217;s sports made this happen!&#8221;</p>
<p>To ensure that all athletes competing in women&#8217;s events are female, the International Olympic Committee will require an SRY gene screening, which Coventry said athletes would only be required to take once. The screening would be done through saliva, a cheek swab, or a blood sample.</p>
<p>&#8220;Based on scientific evidence, the IOC considers that the presence of the SRY gene is fixed throughout life and represents highly accurate evidence that an athlete has experienced male sex development,&#8221; the committee said.</p>
<p>The committee said that any male athlete who identifies as a woman would only be qualified to compete in male categories or in events &#8220;that do not classify athletes by sex.&#8221;</p>
<p>In 2020, male weightlifter Laurel Hubbard became the first trans-identifying athlete to compete against women in the Olympic Games. Hubbard, who had previously competed in the men&#8217;s category at other weightlifting events before he began identifying as a woman, represented New Zealand at the 2020 Games in Tokyo, where he failed to medal.</p>
<p>Then at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Algerian boxer Imane Khelif dominated in the women&#8217;s welterweight division and took home a gold medal despite failing multiple gender tests. Khelif <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boxer-who-dominated-women-during-2024-olympics-admits-to-having-male-gene">admitted</a> last month that he has the SRY gene and that he took hormones to lower his testosterone levels before competing in the Olympics.</p>
<p>The committee&#8217;s move was praised by female athletes and women&#8217;s sports advocates. Kim Jones and Marshi Smith, former decorated athletes and founders of the Independent Council on Women’s Sports, said Thursday&#8217;s announcement &#8220;marks a return of female sport to elite female athletes in Olympic competition and reaffirms the importance of fairness, safety, and equal opportunity worldwide.&#8221;</p>
<p>Jones and Smith also called on the NCAA &#8220;to follow suit.&#8221;</p>
<p>Professional soccer player Elizabeth Eddy, who was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-charlie-kirk-inspired-a-pro-soccer-player-to-speak-out-for-women-in-final-season">interviewed</a> about protecting women&#8217;s sports by The Daily Wire earlier this week, <a href="https://x.com/elizabetheddy2/status/2037171097318445325?s=20">said</a> the International Olympic Committee&#8217;s decision shows that &#8220;the tides are turning.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Precedent has been set from the top, and leagues around the world, including American pro sports, should follow,&#8221; Eddy added.</p>

<p>It was the Sunday after Charlie Kirk was assassinated last fall. Professional soccer player Elizabeth Eddy was at church with her now-husband. The two attend church regularly, so while it wasn’t Kirk’s assassination that got them in the church pews, it was that tragedy that became the subject of the preacher’s sermon that day.</p>
<p>The preacher told the congregation that the attack on Kirk was an attack on free speech. It was that sermon that nudged Eddy, after 10 years in the National Women’s Soccer League, to speak up about a part of women’s soccer that she saw being jeopardized by the lie that men can compete as women—so in her final season, she spoke up.</p>
<p>“It&#8217;s like, this is way bigger than my playing career,” Eddy told The Daily Wire. “This is like, changing the landscape of women&#8217;s soccer at the professional level, which sets a precedent for all other women&#8217;s sports in America.”</p>
<p>Eddy announced her retirement from the NWSL on Tuesday knowing she gave her all to the league as a player both on and off the pitch.</p>

After penning a piece in the New York Post on protecting women’s spaces, and even suggesting creating new spaces for trans-identifying players, Eddy was labeled a “racist” and “transphobe” by her Angel FC teammates.</p>
<p>These teammates weren’t just players on the roster; they were Eddy’s friends—close friends, actually, already invited to Eddy’s upcoming wedding. After Eddy stood for biological truth, they didn’t attend.</p>
<p>“It was like, pretty personal, and one of them even helped my fiancé plan our engagement,” Eddy said. “It was really tough, but like, at the end of the day, I need to answer to God, not to my peers or my success level on earth or whoever else I might want to please.”</p>
<p>“Although I&#8217;m hurt, I&#8217;m holding out hope that one day we can have reconciliation.”</p>
<p>The pushback was painful, but Eddy has no regrets about her statements on women&#8217;s sports. As she looks to her post-soccer chapter, she plans to continue advocating for women to have opportunities to play in a protected category.</p>
<p>“I&#8217;d love to have like a bunch of kids, a bunch of boys and girls, and I want the girls to have a chance to compete and play versus having an uneven playing field from the get-go because they&#8217;re a girl,” Eddy said. “I was like, if I have any ability to affect that, I will happily spend time and effort to do that because again, people have paved the way for all of us girls in America. For example, Title IX and now that is kind of under question. I was recently in D.C. at the Supreme Court on the steps doing the part of this rally and speaking about Title IX, and that’s where I realized how fragile the current policies are and how important it is to actually engage in how to shape the policies for the future.”</p>
<p>In addition to her advocacy for women, Eddy is continuing to compete—trading her shin guards for surfboards. The Newport Beach, California, native grew up hitting the waves and, now that her schedule allows, she’s excited to pursue a solo sport that she says is a different kind of challenge, channeling her “competitive energy” into a “flowy state” on the water.</p>
<p>“I just got back actually three weeks ago from my first pro-surfing contest. It was in Barbados and it was for the World Surf League. Although I got out in the first round, I was like, this is like the coolest thing ever,” Eddy said.</p>
<p>She’s excited to still be a professional athlete who is actively in the fight for women’s sports. She was a utility player on the soccer pitch, meaning she could play multiple positions. Now she’ll have multiple career obligations, which include public speaking, plus a full surfing schedule. The chaos, she says, will be worth the extra work because Eddy firmly believes the more female athletes stand up for their sports, the quicker their category will be protected.</p>
<p>“I was completely delegitimized by how my soccer team responded and the league,” Eddy said. “So then it&#8217;s like, when the next person speaks up, they probably won&#8217;t get as delegitimized, and then a few more might speak up and it will snowball. We&#8217;re moving in a really good direction, and the more people that speak up and the sooner they do it, the better it is for all of our daughters in the future.”</p>
<p>It was Eddy&#8217;s faith that gave her the courage to speak out in the first place, and it’s still her faith that guides her decision-making as the veteran soccer player boldly takes on her next chapter.</p>
<p>“God is not changing,” Eddy said. “He&#8217;s faithful yesterday, he’s faithful today, and faithful tomorrow.&#8221;</p>

<p>Brooke Slusser took a stand for women in college sports. Now she&#8217;s the victim of vicious online attacks.</p>
<p>In a recent interview with <a href="https://x.com/JackThompsonFOX/status/2030652503356854736?s=20">Fox News</a>, the former San Jose State Volleyball player expressed shock at the hate and vitriol coming out now for simply saying she was not comfortable sharing a bed with a man as a college athlete. The attacks come years after Slusser joined the lawsuit against the NCAA, where she publicly spoke about her experience playing alongside Blaire Fleming, a biological male on the SJSU women&#8217;s volleyball team.</p>
<p>&#8220;I honestly think what struck the biggest nerve is this is really the first time I&#8217;ve like sat and talked about just kind of like a day to day point of view, like, yes, we were good friends, like we&#8217;d share very like intimate details about each of our lives, like that&#8217;s a normal roommate tendencies do in a girl&#8217;s apartment,&#8221; Slusser told The Daily Wire.</p>

<p>Since the interview earlier this week, Slusser has been called a &#8220;<a href="https://x.com/Brocklesnitch/status/2030881342385537472?s=20">b*tch</a>&#8221; and a &#8220;transphobe right-wing <a href="https://x.com/druidDUDE/status/2031021289440178594?s=20">grifter</a>&#8221; among other attacks for simply speaking the truth.</p>
<p>&#8220;Someone texted me and was like, &#8216;I love you so much, I hope you&#8217;re doing ok,&#8217; and that usually means that&#8217;s usually how I find out something&#8217;s going on about me on the internet,&#8221; Slusser said of the attacks.</p>
<p>Slusser believed her coaches, support staff, and San Jose State admin when they told her Blaire was a girl. Slusser shared beds with the biological man on team trips and lived together for two seasons. Slusser said she was blindsided by the news that she had been living with a man, even though, in hindsight, she said things seemed off.</p>
<p>&#8220;His doors were always locked, that&#8217;s what I remember, because like I said, we were all very good friends, and so it&#8217;s very normal for girls just to like barge into each other&#8217;s rooms unannounced,&#8221; Slusser said. &#8220;We always had to knock, and I just thought that was weird, but I was like, if a person likes their privacy, I&#8217;m not gonna be the one to push a button.&#8221;</p>
<p>Slusser refuses to focus on the hate. Instead, she&#8217;s driven to ensure other girls don&#8217;t live through the experience of playing and living with a man disguised as a woman, which Slusser described as &#8220;hell.&#8221; Slusser said her coach, Todd Kress, never told Slusser her roommate was a man, and once news broke about Fleming&#8217;s biology, Kress encouraged his team to stay quiet.</p>
<p>&#8220;They gaslit us so much, and the fact that like, if we spoke on this at all, even with like close family and friends, our scholarship would be in jeopardy,&#8221; Slusser said.</p>
<p>In January, the Office of Civil Rights found San Jose State violated Title IX because of its handling of the trans-identifying volleyball player. The Trump admin said that if the university complied with a list of conditions, the university wouldn&#8217;t be punished. Instead of complying, like Penn did last year, SJSU and the California State University system decided to sue the federal government.</p>
<p>SJSU President Dr.Cynthia Teniente-Matson released this <a href="https://blogs.sjsu.edu/newsroom/2026/ocr-titleix-lawsuit/">statement</a> on March 6 regarding the lawsuit:</p>
<p>&#8220;This is not a step we take lightly. However, we have a responsibility to defend the integrity of our institution and the rule of law, while ensuring that every member of our community is treated fairly and in accordance with the law. Our position is simple: We have followed the law and cannot be punished for doing so. OCR has faulted us for following decisions from federal courts that bound SJSU; OCR has no authority to do that. We are asking the court to set aside OCR’s Letter of Findings and Proposed Resolution Agreement and prevent the Department of Education from terminating, freezing, or refusing to grant SJSU’s federal funding.&#8221;</p>
<p>Slusser called her institution&#8217;s decision &#8220;blood-boiling.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s mostly SJSU that needs to be held accountable,&#8221; Slusser said. &#8220;I achieved the dream of playing collegiate sports, and the last year I had was completely ruined. You can&#8217;t get that back.&#8221;</p>
<p>During Slusser&#8217;s senior season in 2024, eight of San Jose State&#8217;s wins came from forfeits because other collegiate programs refused to play against a male. In the Mountain West Conference alone, Boise State, Wyoming, Utah State, and Nevada forfeited seven matches against SJSU. Slusser thought the nationwide pushback would address the issue, but she was proved wrong.</p>
<p>&#8220;I was still trusting of Todd, my head coach, and I asked what happens if we just removed this one person and played as women, and he just cussed me out. I was like, oh, ok, that&#8217;s how we feel about this.&#8221;</p>
<p>The 23-year-old is fighting alongside Riley Gaines as the two are part of a lawsuit against the NCAA. Slusser said it&#8217;s progressing well despite both the NCAA and Mountain West conference attempts to appeal.</p>
<p>The slurs thrown Slusser&#8217;s way for speaking up thankfully don&#8217;t get her down. Even if they did, she said she would never stop standing up for women.</p>
<p>&#8220;If I passed this up and had kids in sports later on and saw them going through what I did when I knew I could change it and didn&#8217;t, I would literally kick myself.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I just think people need to know you can stand up and nothing is gonna happen to you.&#8221;</p>

<p>President Donald Trump, as well as some of the biggest names in sports, are at the White House Friday for a roundtable discussion on college sports.</p>
<p>&#8220;The president wants to save college sports,&#8221; White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News on Friday, &#8220;It&#8217;s very important to him and to so many athletes across the country to fix the broken system.&#8221;</p>
<p>According to Fox News, the president is fed up with the overspending on players and the constant transfer of players between schools. A big focus of the meeting will be how to rein in NIL, which stands for name, image, and likeness. NIL is how the players make their millions. Another area of focus will be collective bargaining.</p>
<p>&#8220;The president is saying enough is enough,&#8221; Darren Botelho said.</p>
<p>Trump is not against players being paid, but instead he is focusing on keeping college sports as amateur as it can be in the new NIL era.</p>
<p>Trump will be the chair of the Saving College Sports Roundtable, alongside vice chairs Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and New York Yankees President Randy Levine.</p>
<p>Notable sports figures attending Friday&#8217;s gathering include Nick Saban, Tiger Woods, Urban Meyer, and Tony Dungy.</p>
<p>NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is set to attend alongside several NCAA conference commissioners and media execs. In total, more than 30 people will be in attendance. As of now, there are no current players or coaches participating in the roundtable.</p>
<p>In response to the lack of current athletes attending the roundtable, Temple University football player Kahlil Poteat said: &#8220;We deserve a seat at the table. We as athletes are the reason the stands are filled, logos are worn, and the game thrives the way it does. Ever since I was a little kid, I dreamed about making it to the Division I level to play the sport I love. It is unfair and unfaithful to hold a discussion without the main attraction in mind. We deserve a say, just like the executives and leaders, in sports and in our futures. I believe that we, as athletes at every level, deserve to be at the table and fight for our best interest. We want college sports to thrive just like everyone else in the room. So let’s bond together to generate the best outcome for all.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump hasn&#8217;t shied away from sports during his second term; the president signed an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/07/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-saves-college-sports/">executive order</a> to ban third-party pay-for-play payments, while allowing legitimate NIL endorsement deals. He also <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/07/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-saves-college-sports/">called on schools</a> to expand &#8220;opportunities for scholarships and collegiate athletic competition in women’s and non-revenue sports.&#8221;</p>
<p>Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has long supported Trump getting involved with the landscape of college sports. Last May, Tuberville said he is confident the Trump administration can find a solution to the current chaos at the college level.</p>
<p>&#8220;While I’m all for players making money, we need to create national standards to protect the integrity of college sports,&#8221; Tuberville said.</p>

<p>San Jose State University was hit with a Title IX violation by the United States Department of Education after an investigation found that the school&#8217;s women&#8217;s volleyball team kept a male player on its roster from 2022 to 2024.</p>
<p>The university is now saying it&#8217;s &#8220;reviewing&#8221; the Education Department&#8217;s findings.</p>
<p>In a statement to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/sjsu-responds-trump-admin-probe-found-university-violated-title-ix-trans-volleyball-player">Fox News</a>, San Jose State University said: &#8220;San Jose State, a member of the California State University system, received notification from the federal Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights regarding its investigation into athletics participation on our past women’s volleyball teams. The Department informed the University of the outcome of its investigation and its findings. The University is in the process of reviewing the Department’s findings and proposed resolution agreement. We remain committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive educational environment for all students while complying with applicable laws and regulations.&#8221;</p>
<p>The statement comes after the Department of Education concluded its investigation into the school on Wednesday.</p>
<p>&#8220;The U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) found that San José State University (SJSU) violated Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX),&#8221; the department said in a statement. &#8220;OCR concluded that SJSU’s policies allowing males to compete in women’s sports and access female-only facilities deny women equal educational opportunities and benefits.&#8221;</p>
<p>Blaire Fleming is a male who played on the women&#8217;s volleyball team at San Jose State. Fleming played both indoor and beach volleyball. Fleming&#8217;s background became news after multiple <a href="https://reduxx.info/exclusive-biological-male-quietly-joined-womens-ncaa-division-i-volleyball-at-san-jose-state-university/">outlets</a> reported SJSU allegedly tried to hide Fleming&#8217;s sex from teammates, coaches, and opponents.</p>
<p>The Office of Civil Rights said that the cover-up forced female athletes on San Jose&#8217;s volleyball team to share locker rooms and hotel rooms with a male.</p>
<p>In addition to the privacy concerns, there were also alarming safety concerns. The investigation alleges that Fleming spiked the ball so hard that it knocked women on the opposing team to the ground. During one season, seven all-women’s teams from other universities forfeited their competitions, accepting a loss rather than competing against a male.</p>
<p>When Fleming&#8217;s sex was made known to Brooke Slusser, the teammate of Fleming filed a lawsuit against the school and the NCAA for not informing her or her teammates that Fleming was a male. An assistant coach was suspended and not re-contracted after she filed a Title IX complaint over the school’s handling of the male player.</p>

<p>Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance. United States Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said she will hold San Jose State accountable.</p>
<p>&#8220;San José State University caused significant harm to female athletes by allowing a male to compete on the women’s volleyball team— and when female athletes spoke out, SJSU retaliated,&#8221; McMahon said.</p>
<p>As a result of the university&#8217;s noncompliance, the Department of Education is requiring a list of <a href="https://www.ed.gov/about/news/press-release/us-department-of-educations-office-civil-rights-finds-san-jose-state-university-violated-title-ix">actions</a> to be taken, including a public statement from SJSU saying the university will adopt biology-based definitions of the words &#8220;male&#8221; and &#8220;female.&#8221;  The school will also acknowledge that the sex of a human, male or female, is unchangeable, and send an apology to players who were on the volleyball and beach volleyball teams with Fleming and any players who refused to compete against Fleming. In the apology, the university has to express sincere regret for placing female athletes in that position.</p>
<p>San Jose State University has 10 days to comply or risk “imminent enforcement action.”</p>
<p>“We will not relent until SJSU is held to account for these abuses and commits to upholding Title IX to protect future athletes from the same indignities,&#8221; Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Kimberly Richey said.</p>

Trump Admin Hits University With Title IX Violation Over Male Athlete In Women’s Sports

<p>The steps of the Supreme Court were the backdrop for hundreds of women and men who showed up on Tuesday to protect the sanctity of women&#8217;s sports.</p>
<p>For the first time, the Court heard cases on whether men could compete in women&#8217;s sports. While arguments occurred inside the courtroom, a rally could be heard outside the building, where the women leading the movement made their voices heard.</p>
<p>The two cases presented to the Supreme Court on Tuesday won&#8217;t have a decision for months. But Kaitlynn Wheeler is hopeful the outcome will ensure that women — and only women — can compete in women&#8217;s sports for generations to come. Wheeler, alongside other women, has fought for years to keep men out of women&#8217;s sports.</p>
<p>At Kentucky, Wheeler competed against Lia Thomas, the man who infamously tied with Riley Gaines, igniting the movement to save women&#8217;s sports</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m optimistic that it will be in our favor, in the favor of common sense, and in the favor of the overwhelming majority of the American people,&#8221; Wheeler said.</p>
<p>Trump signed the &#8220;Keeping Men Out Of Women&#8217;s Sports&#8221; executive order last February, but Wheeler wants federal law to reflect it so it cannot be so easily reversed.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is something that we need to get codified into law,&#8221; Wheeler explained. &#8220;We need to really look at Title IX, too, and even add on to Title IX, and make it into law because again, it can be taken down just as quickly as it was put up.&#8221;</p>
<p>Wheeler, like the defendants in court Tuesday, believes Title IX defines sex by biological sex, and it needs to reflect that.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think Title IX needs to define them, that way we eliminate the confusion,&#8221; Wheeler said.</p>
<p>&#8220;Everyone is so excited to be together because we have all been fighting for this for years now,&#8221; Payton McNabb, another one of the women at the frontlines of the movement, told The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>McNabb was severely injured by a man on a high school girls&#8217; volleyball team just before she turned 18. She couldn&#8217;t drive for months. She couldn&#8217;t finish out her volleyball season because she suffered a concussion and a neck injury from the spike.</p>
<p>&#8220;This stuff is just so insane that it doesn&#8217;t even sound real, but that&#8217;s actually a reality,&#8221; McNabb said.</p>

<p>These women, along with Gaines, former gymnast Jennifer Sey, former ESPN anchor Sage Steele, and others, have spearheaded the fight, but men have joined the battle too.</p>
<p>Dakota Meyer is a girl dad, a Marine, and an ambassador with Sey&#8217;s clothing brand, XX-XY. He told The Daily Wire that more men need to speak up against males competing in the women&#8217;s category.</p>
<p>&#8220;My daughters are tall, so like they&#8217;re taller than a lot of the boys their age, but when they play a boys team, even at eight and nine years old, my daughters cannot keep up with them,&#8221; Meyer said.</p>

<p>Tuesday saw many protesters oppose keeping men out of women&#8217;s sports, but the majority of the people present were there to back the movement to protect women. McNabb said she&#8217;s been most surprised by support from Democrats, even though she thinks that stating biology shouldn&#8217;t be a partisan issue.</p>
<p>&#8220;They understand that this issue is so real and it means so much to them because everyone has a woman in their life and this affects them ultimately in some way,&#8221; McNabb said.</p>
<p>The Tuesday rally in Washington, D.C., was a success on all accounts, according to McNabb. The now 20-year-old waits with the rest of the country on the high court&#8217;s ruling.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m praying for a good outcome here,&#8221; McNabb said. &#8220;I&#8217;m praying over all the Supreme Court justices, but also everyone that&#8217;s been affected, and that the other side will have clarity and understand that they are loved and created in God&#8217;s image.&#8221;</p>
