World Darts Federation has threatened female competitors with disciplinary action if they refuse to compete against <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trans-identifying</a> males.
Ahead of this year’s World Championship, the WDF issued a statement that made it clear the federation will not tolerate any woman who forfeits their match because they have to play against a biological male, months after British female darts player Deta Hedman did just that, <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/female-darts-players-threatened-disciplinary-092951117.html">Yahoo News</a> reported.
“The WDF wishes to clarify its position on player withdrawals,” the statement read.
“Once the first dart has been thrown in a tournament, any player that subsequently withdraws from playing a match may be considered to be bringing the game into disrepute and could face disciplinary action,” it added.

“This stance has been taken to suitably protect our member countries, their tournaments and tournament sponsors, as well as to preserve the integrity of the WDF ranking system,” the statement concluded.
In May, Hedman made headlines after she dropped out of her darts competition in Denmark after having to face transgender competitor Noa-Lynn van Leuven in the quarterfinals. Hedman forfeited her game and later went on social media to explain that &#8220;biological born men&#8221; should not &#8220;compete in Women’s sport.”

“No fake illness, I said I wouldn’t play a man in a ladies event,” Hedman wrote on X, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/05/07/sports/british-female-darts-player-deta-hedman-refuses-to-play-transgender-opponent-forfeits-match/">New York Post</a> noted.
Last month, Hedman withdrew from another competition after learning she would face another transgender opponent, Yahoo News noted.
Following the release of the WDF&#8217;s statement, Hedman told Telegraph Sport she felt that it was directed right at her, the outlet noted.
“When that statement went out, I felt it was aimed at me,” the British darts player said. “They haven’t shown any regard for the mental health of anyone female-born at all.”
“It’s all about the mental health of transgender women,” she added. “They have not once come to us ladies and asked how we are feeling about it. We’re having to stand up to say, ‘This is how we feel.'&#8221;
She also talked about dropping out in May due to her “mental health” after being told she must compete against a biological male.
“It’s been affecting me for a very, very long time,” Hedman told the outlet. “And, when it did happen, I just broke down. I was a mess, an absolute mess.”

A Muslim man in England won’t immediately report to prison even after he pleaded guilty to what a judge called “an outrageous public display of misogyny.”
Muhammed Hassan, 26, of Bradford, England, attacked three women he knew in broad daylight at a gas station because he disapproved of their makeup and clothes, local news outlet the Telegraph &amp; Argus <a href="https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/24539641.women-attacked-man-broad-daylight-bradford/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Prosecutor Ayman Khokhar said in court that the women had stopped to fill up their car at the gas station before going to dinner on May 25. That’s when Hassan approached the vehicle, grabbed the driver, and slammed her head on the dashboard. He then grabbed another woman by the hair and punched her in the head before also punching the third woman.
For this, Hassan was sentenced to six months in prison suspended for two years, meaning he won’t go to prison unless he violates a condition of his sentence. He must attend 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days “to address the underlying things that led to this otherwise inexplicable violence” and carry out 180 hours of community service while wearing an electronic tag to monitor his movements for the next four months. He must also pay a £500 fine.

“Whatever the motivation was for this it’s still utterly inadequate to justify the violence that you perpetrated against [the victims] when they were sitting in a car effectively cowering from you,” Judge Colin Burn said in court, according to the Argus. “The three people on the receiving end of your violence were women who were in a vulnerable situation.”
“[This was] an extremely abusive, controlling, and violent incident,” the judge added.
One of the women testified that Hassan had pulled up beside them at the gas station and began “refueling his car slowly on purpose.” The women said they decided to wait until he left because he had previously called them “slags” and “prostitutes” for not wearing traditional clothing and makeup. He had also previously demanded they dress conservatively.
Hassan still managed to gain access to them in their vehicle and beat them in a 51-second attack captured on CCTV. After the brutal attack, he drove away while the women called the police.
When interviewed by police, Hassan reportedly remained silent but later pleaded guilty to an affray charge, which is a disorderly conduct offense usually involving two or more people fighting in a public area.
Khokhar, the prosecutor, said in court that Hassan’s attack was motivated by misogyny.
“In broad daylight he has attacked three females at a petrol station,” she said, according to the Argus. “The offense appears to be motivated by sexist attitudes towards women.”
Fuad Arshad, representing Hassan, claimed his client’s behavior was “very much out of character” and said he was “very regretful.” Arshad also claimed that Hassan had believed the women had “played some role in how a marriage ended” but insisted his client knew that what he had done was “unjustified.”

The decision to keep Hassan out of jail comes barely a week after United Kingdom Home Secretary Yvette Cooper called misogyny an extremist ideology and vowed to crack down on it.
Cooper vowed to crack down on those “pushing harmful and hateful beliefs,” including extreme misogyny, in an attempt to fight extremism, The Guardian <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/society/article/2024/aug/18/extreme-misogyny-to-be-treated-as-form-of-terrorism-under-government-plans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

The Free Press published an excellent article over the weekend by my friend Maddy Kearns, who has been on my <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/the-michael-knowles-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">show</a> a number of times. I saw it at the top of the Drudge Report; it’s gone absolutely viral. Kearns’ piece is about women wearing veils at church — quite a niche issue. So why on earth would this make it to the top of the Drudge Report? Why would it go viral? Because it speaks to something really profound that is happening in religion and in politics.
The <a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/the-young-catholic-women-bringing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a>, “The Young Catholic Women Bringing Back Veils: A new generation of worshippers is longing for a ‘lost type of Catholicism’,” explores why young Catholic women have begun wearing veils in church in recent years. While Catholics are not the only ones who wear veils or cover their heads at church, we are most often the ones thought of first. Veil wearing comes from <a href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20corinthians%2011&amp;version=NIV" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1 Corinthians, chapter 11, verse 4</a>: “Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved.” More broadly, the first letter to the Corinthians is about the relation of man to woman and man to God, and it explains how we can symbolize this in our lives.
But in the 1960s, a radical shift occurred inside the Catholic Church, outside the Catholic Church, and in secular society that it would be a good idea to sever our connection to the past. This shift was not solely supported by the hippies in drum circles with flowers in their hair. This happened in every institution throughout the West. Even in the most enduring and ancient institution in the world, the Catholic Church, a major liturgical reform took place. They upended the mass of the ages and the way the mass had been celebrated for at least 1,400 years — and really even earlier than that. They just kind of upended the past, which involved some radical changes, including encouraging women to stop wearing veils.
Now people are realizing that there is usually a reason that things that endure for millennia endure. Maybe when a tradition persists for many centuries or millennia, there is a reason. Maybe we do not have a sufficient stock of reason that we can just reinvent the world anew so that it will be much better, as though that would be an advisable thing to do. Maybe those older generations knew something that we do not; maybe we are not that perfectly intelligent. Maybe we are not even as intelligent as our grandparents were. And maybe we need to return to tradition. Maybe that would benefit us.
Maybe that is actually the way forward. It is not the way back. It is not regression because tradition is not some dusty old thing. There are plenty of dusty old things that have popped up in history that eventually fell away because they just did not have staying power. That is not what tradition is. In fact, that is what fads are. That is what radical innovation is. All those dusty old things that have been left in the dustbin of history all the way in the past? Those were fads; those were fashions. They were some supposedly genius ideas from some radical who wanted to upend everything — and then they didn&#8217;t work.

Tradition is not the oldest thing. Tradition is, in some ways, the newest thing, or at least we would say the most enduring. It is what links the past and the present and the future. Maybe there is a reason that Christians have acted as they have acted, believed as they have believed, and lived as they have lived for millennia. Maybe there is a connection.
The Latin phrase lex orandi lex credendi means the way we worship influences the way we believe. Religion is not just a thing you do in your head and you ignore that you have a body in time and space. Religion is a thing that you do. You worship God. There is a difference between praying on your knees, praying sitting down, or praying while you&#8217;re driving. There&#8217;s a difference between saying a prayer you just invented yesterday or saying the Lord&#8217;s Prayer. Our Lord tells us in the Gospels <a href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%206%3A9-13&amp;version=NIV" target="_blank" rel="noopener">how to pray</a>: “Our father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, On earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” He tells you how to do it.
Then, going all the way back to the Apostolic Age, the Church in her wisdom established ways in which we can pray. And that&#8217;s going to affect the way we believe. If you receive the Eucharist on the tongue kneeling, you&#8217;re going to believe something about what the Eucharist, the Holy Communion, is. If you are just driving in your car and you stick your hand out like you&#8217;re going through the McDonald&#8217;s drive thru, that is also going to affect the way that you believe because we&#8217;re incarnate creatures and that&#8217;s going to affect the way that you live too.
Maybe these young women who want to return to wearing veils realize something has been lost. Maybe they realize that all the innovation that was supposed to free us and make everything better has actually made things worse. Maybe the real update we need right now is to return to the faith as it was practiced for nearly two thousand years.

More than two years after the release of my film &#8220;What is a Woman?,&#8221; it&#8217;s still impossible to get a straight answer to that question from gender activists, liberal professors and political commentators on the Left. They might call you &#8220;weird&#8221; for asking the question, or call you a transphobe, or call the police. But whatever they do, they won&#8217;t respond in any meaningful way to a question that, throughout all of human history up until very recently, has been extremely easy for every living person to answer. They won&#8217;t tell you the truth, which is that a woman is an adult human female. Instead, they&#8217;ll tell you that the definition of a &#8220;woman&#8221; is whatever you want it to be.
One of the many reasons this approach isn&#8217;t sustainable is that it&#8217;s extremely important, from a practical perspective, to have a functional definition of the word &#8220;woman.&#8221; This isn&#8217;t some abstract philosophical exercise. We need a definition of the word &#8220;woman&#8221; in order to interpret our laws, including the various pieces of civil rights legislation that have been passed over the years. And yet, there haven&#8217;t been a lot of court cases addressing the issue. Instead, major legal battles concerning gender ideology have primarily focused on the area of so-called &#8220;trans medicine.&#8221; The legal issues in those cases — including the landmark Sixth Circuit case upholding Tennessee&#8217;s ban on child castration — are about the degree of supposed &#8220;consensus&#8221; in the medical field on the issue of whether children should be sterilized. They&#8217;re about the rights of parents to decide what physicians do to their children but they&#8217;re not really about this fundamental, underlying issue — which is the most basic question of all, which is what it means for someone to be a woman, or a man.
This is changing, though, and it&#8217;s changing very quickly. Courts overseas are being forced to issue rulings on the definition of womanhood, and unsurprisingly, they are having difficulty conjuring up the right answer. They&#8217;re coming up with political rulings instead. The most recent case arrives to us from that perpetually confused country known as Australia, where the Federal Court has just made a landmark decision in a lawsuit by a man who claims to be a woman, and who now uses the name &#8220;Roxanne Tickle.&#8221; Here&#8217;s the background. In February of 2021, Roxanne Tickle downloaded an app called &#8220;Giggle for Girls,&#8221; which was advertised as a way for women to speak to other women, exclusively. It was specifically promoted as an online refuge by Giggle&#8217;s CEO, who said she created the app as a kind of safe environment for women after she suffered some form of sexual abuse in the past. 
So, yes, this case is quite literally &#8220;Tickle v. Giggle.&#8221; It may sound like an episode of Teletubbies, but it is in fact a real court case. 
Initially, an AI program at Giggle looked at Roxanne Tickle&#8217;s profile picture and concluded that he was probably a woman. So Tickle was allowed into Giggle. But a few months later, someone at Giggle took a closer look, and concluded that Roxanne Tickle was in fact a man, and that this fact was blindingly obvious to anyone who looked at his picture. So Roxanne Tickle was banned from Giggle, which led him to sue the company for sex discrimination. And ultimately Tickle won. Australia&#8217;s federal court decided that Tickle is, in fact, a woman, so Giggle has to pay tens of thousands of dollars in fake damages. (Giggle, in case you&#8217;re looking to download it, is apparently offline at the moment, although it&#8217;s supposed to relaunch soon. At its peak it had around 20,000 users, so it was never a particularly large platform).
It&#8217;s impossible to go any further in discussing this case without showing some footage of what Roxanne Tickle actually looks and sounds like, so here&#8217;s a news report that gives you some idea:

This is one of those situations where you obviously don&#8217;t need a 50,000-word federal court decision to figure out if Roxanne Tickle is a man or a woman. So how exactly did the Australian federal court arrive at their decision? By what definition of &#8220;woman&#8221; does Roxane Tickle qualify? If you pull up the decision, not surprisingly, you won&#8217;t find an answer to that question. Instead, you&#8217;ll find what appears to be the first major court decision that officially defines &#8220;woman&#8221; to mean &#8220;whatever the court says it means.&#8221; 
From the court&#8217;s ruling: 
<blockquote>Sex is not confined to being a biological concept referring to whether a person at birth had male or female physical traits, nor confined to being a binary concept, limited to the male or female sex, but rather takes a broader ordinary meaning, informed by its use, including in State and Territory legislation.</blockquote>
I should pause here and let you know what you probably already assumed: the court just claimed that there are more sexes besides male and female, but never at any point names what those other sexes are. This is very common. In fact, out all of the people who tell us that there are more than two sexes, precisely none of them have ever told us what the other sexes are. Just trust me, bro. There are other sexes. Now stop asking questions.

The court continues: 
<blockquote>&#8230;The determination of the sex of a person may take into account a range of factors, including biological and physical characteristics, legal recognition and how they present themselves and are recognised socially.</blockquote>
In other words, according to the Federal Court in Australia, &#8220;legislation&#8221; and &#8220;legal recognition&#8221; determines your sex now, along with other &#8220;factors&#8221; — including what other people think you are and how you present yourself. If you&#8217;re &#8220;recognized socially&#8221; as a woman, then you&#8217;re probably a woman. Of course, the problem is that if the definition of woman is: “Someone who is socially recognized as a woman,” we still have no idea what a woman is. Socially recognized as what exactly? What is that thing?
And why does social recognition matter? As far as I can tell, the court never polled all of Australia for its opinion on whether Roxanne Tickle qualifies as a woman. They apparently didn&#8217;t ask anyone, in fact. So really the court never determined that Tickle was &#8220;recognized socially&#8221; as a woman. That factor didn&#8217;t come into play. In truth, what the court is saying is that Roxanne Tickle is a woman because the court says so. They&#8217;re not conducting any social analysis of how people perceive this person, not that an analysis like that would be relevant anyway.
Specifically, the court said that back in 1984, Australia&#8217;s parliament passed a law called the &#8220;Sex Discrimination Act,&#8221; which protected women from discrimination. But the law never explicitly defined the word &#8220;woman&#8221; because everyone knew what it meant at the time. So now, a few decades later, the court unilaterally says that you&#8217;re a &#8220;woman&#8221; if the court says you&#8217;re one, after weighing a few factors that the court invented. They just kind of read that into the law. The court decides what a woman is. Although the court still cannot say what a woman is.
In effect, Australians are being commanded by their court system to ignore their common sense, which is informed by their knowledge of basic human biology. They&#8217;re being asked to ignore their own laws as well. And instead, they&#8217;re commanded to obey the ad hoc wisdom of the federal court system. A woman is anyone the court says is a woman. That’s all. End of story. This decision is going to be appealed to Australia&#8217;s highest court, but at the moment that&#8217;s the precedent that has just been set.

We don&#8217;t have any kind of &#8220;landmark&#8221; case like this in the United States, at least not yet. But courts in this country are still proceeding on the same principle. This is a case that The Daily Mail first reported on last month, although it&#8217;s just starting to get attention now. A family in Maryland lost custody of their 16-year-old autistic son because they refused to pretend that he was really a girl. Apparently, the teenager went through difficult breakup with his girlfriend and attempted suicide in November 2021. He told his friends at the time that he was &#8220;LGBT&#8221; but still used masculine pronouns, as far as anyone knew.
But instead of treating this teenager as a deeply confused individual suffering from grief over a breakup and probably other mental health problems as well, Children&#8217;s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. reportedly determined that the boy suffered from &#8220;gender dysphoria&#8221; and was really a girl. It&#8217;s not clear how they came to that conclusion, or how much the hospital influenced that diagnosis. Then, according to the Daily Mail, the hospital, &#8220;used its emergency policies to keep the boy in its units and reported the parents to child protection services.&#8221; This went on for more than a month, at which point the child was then forced into foster care with a single mother who reportedly has a previous criminal record for assault. Then in July of 2022, the boy attempted suicide again — and this time the hospital took him back as a &#8220;girl.&#8221;
Now the boy&#8217;s parents are suing Children&#8217;s National Hospital, and the legal battle is apparently still underway. It&#8217;s been going on for two years. The child is now 19. (There&#8217;s conflicting information about whether this lawsuit is still active. The hospital told The Daily Mail it&#8217;s been withdrawn by the parents, but the parents deny that. The court filings in this case are sealed because it involves a minor but reportedly, the Fourth Circuit US Court of Appeals is now handling it.)
As it stands, the lawsuit focuses extensively on the hospital&#8217;s &#8220;non-gendered&#8221; chaplain, Lavender Kelley, who&#8217;s supposedly overseeing their child&#8217;s care. In fact, Kelley is reportedly responsible for finding the child his first foster home. Who is Lavender Kelley exactly? <a href="https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/07/24/19/87721587-13668663-Pictured_above_is_hospital_Chaplain_Lavender_Kelley_who_is_belie-a-11_1721847266889.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Here&#8217;s a photo</a>:

Surprising absolutely no one, Kelley is a gender ideologue and an LGBT activist. The Daily Mail reports that Lavender Kelly posted on Facebook in 2022 that children should be &#8220;transitioned&#8221; without their parent&#8217;s consent if necessary. You might be wondering what a children&#8217;s hospital would employ someone like this, who&#8217;s clearly focused more on activism than medicine. But as we know, many children&#8217;s hospitals — including Children&#8217;s National — are activist operations now. This is the same hospital that recently told Libs of TikTok on the phone that they perform “gender affirming hysterectomies” on 16-year-olds and “younger kids.” They openly admitted to removing the uteruses of confused children in order to affirm their supposed gender identity. That&#8217;s an act of barbarism that even so-called &#8220;trans healthcare providers&#8221; typically shy away from, at least in public. It&#8217;s too much, even for them. But it&#8217;s not too much for Children&#8217;s National and their &#8220;non-gender&#8221; chaplain. This is the kind of hospital that apparently gets to decide whether the government can take your child.
The only way horror stories like this happen is if courts allow them to happen, unilaterally. There&#8217;s no law in this country that allows hospitals to take your son away because the hospital says your son is really a girl, just like there&#8217;s no law in Australia that says a woman is anyone who says they&#8217;re a woman. But courts increasingly have no problem inventing new laws to this effect, and then enforcing them. Rather than answering the question &#8220;What is a woman?,&#8221; the judicial system is punishing people who actually have a working definition. It&#8217;s taking their kids away, in some cases, to very little fanfare. 
As I said, that story in Maryland broke last month, and it&#8217;s only now getting some degree of attention. What that means is that, as easy as it may be to hope that Australia&#8217;s completely unscientific and arbitrary understanding of gender won&#8217;t be adopted by judges in this country, the truth is that in at least one case so far, it already has been.

Former CNN host Don Lemon shared a video on social media Wednesday showing women he interviewed on the street who revealed who they were going to vote for in the upcoming election.
The left-wing journalist interviewed white and black women on the streets of Chicago and all of the women who he included in the video said that they were voting for Trump.
The first woman that Lemon interviewed said: &#8220;I&#8217;m going for Trump. I feel like every time they don&#8217;t want somebody who is good for us to win, they throw somebody black in our face, thinking that&#8217;s gonna, like, make us vote for the black person.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m going for Trump,&#8221; she later added. &#8220;Kamala was on Biden&#8217;s team, and I don&#8217;t like Biden. Gas wasn&#8217;t this high when Trump was our president. Food wasn&#8217;t this high. I&#8217;m going for Trump.&#8221;

The next woman said that she voted for Obama because he was black and that she did not want to vote for Harris &#8220;because she&#8217;s the first black woman to run for president or to win.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m supporting Trump,&#8221; the woman said. &#8220;Because it has to change. It has to change, and now I vote more for what fits me better as a person, rather than voting for the black person or voting for the first woman.&#8221;
Another woman said that she was voting for Trump because &#8220;we had good times with Donald Trump.&#8221;
When asked what she thought about Harris, the woman said: &#8220;I don&#8217;t like her, the way she speaks, the giddiness, the laughing, everything&#8217;s a joke, and it&#8217;s not a joke. We&#8217;re in trouble.&#8221;
A fifth woman told Lemon that she, too, was voting for Trump because she has &#8220;always been a fan of his.&#8221;

A sixth woman from Virginia told Lemon that she used to be against Trump until she moved to Ohio and &#8220;saw the other side&#8221; of his policies, presumably because she moved from a blue state to a red state.

Although we are living in an around-the-clock, digitally connected world, we sometimes paradoxically find ourselves disconnected from each other. But it hasn’t always been this way. People in generations past — Boomers, for example — would drop by unannounced to visit friends on Sunday afternoons or host family dinners regularly to bring everyone together and catch up on life. Today, the art of true friendship has torn apart at the seams, leaving Gen Z as a whole ill-equipped to maintain meaningful relationships. 
This was not a problem that showed up overnight, nor can it be linked to just one cause. We were the first generation raised online in a world of social media, we were locked down in a months-long pandemic on the cusp of adulthood, and we live in a time when lifestyles are as fast-paced as they’ve ever been. In general, Gen Z is made up of inside kids, so we grew up accustomed to socializing very differently than other generations.
Objectively, this is less healthy because we don’t have as much face-to-face communication in real life, and we all know that is important to a healthy, happy, and long life. We have been called <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/generation-genz-loneliness-problem-mental-health-1877013" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the lonely generation</a>, a generation who tends to <a href="https://ballardbrief.byu.edu/issue-briefs/isolation-among-generation-z-in-the-united-states" target="_blank" rel="noopener">isolate</a>. Gen Z simply doesn’t interact with people as much as generations before us, including Millennials. But regardless of the reasons, Gen Z not only has difficulty maintaining friendships, but they also voice concerns about even being able to find friends. And sometimes, the online world can make it appear as though everyone else has tons of friends, which just leads to more feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Now, Gen Z is reaching adulthood, moving out, living alone, and asking a serious question: How do I make friends? I resonate with this question because, even though I wanted female friends as I was growing up, making girlfriends was a challenge for me. Part of this was because we moved quite often. I would make friends, keep them for about a year, and then move, so the friendship just withered away. I could never seem to make and keep solid female friends. I also had brothers so I grew up primarily around boys, and I was never much of a girly girl. Plus, I always found it easier to hang out with guys.

There was, however, another reason making girlfriends was difficult for me, though I didn’t realize it at the time. Even though I wanted female friends, I had a rather negative view of femininity. The traits I primarily noticed about girls were traits I didn’t like, especially the promiscuousness, gossipiness, and silliness. I didn’t want to be associated with those qualities, and I allowed them to taint my perspective in general.
Now, however, I have learned those traits are not true of the gender as a whole. I’m no-nonsense by nature, but I realized I can embrace my femininity and be open to female idiosyncrasies. That change in perspective had to start with me, and when it did, I could see I had superficial ideas of what friendships were. I had to become more open and vulnerable, because in truth, being friends with women requires significant vulnerability.
Having learned all this, my first suggestion to the question of how to make friends is: Say yes to everything. If there’s an invite, accept; if there’s an event, go; and if there’s coffee, drink. Join a running club, go to trivia nights, and attend work-sponsored happenings. Even if you think you would not be friends with the person doing the inviting, go anyway. You probably don’t know them well enough to make that decision yet, and you could also meet other potential friends at the events they’re inviting you to. 
Be willing to put yourself in situations that allow you to meet people. In order to get out there, you must put yourself out there. It’s worth acknowledging this creates some discomfort, but if the desire for friends and struggle against loneliness outweighs being uncomfortable — which it absolutely should — then say yes. Be open. Be agreeable.

Second, take initiative. Girls love doing fun activities together. If you’re at a farmers’ market and there’s a girl standing next to you, strike up a conversation. If there’s a girl at work you think you’d like to be friends with, ask her to get lunch. As much as saying yes is a great attitude to begin with, reaching out and being the first to take initiative to connect is even more productive when it comes to making friends.
I met one of my bridesmaids by randomly messaging her one day. She was a co-worker, and I had spoken to her exactly one time in the breakroom, but something about her made me think we could be friends. One weekend, a rodeo was going to be in town about an hour outside Nashville, so I just messaged her and asked her to go with me. That led to another rodeo and eventually a true friendship. She stood by me on the day of my wedding as one of my best friends.
I don’t have sisters, so I had always assumed I wouldn’t have bridesmaids. But on the day I got married, our wedding party included six sweet friends of mine — only one of whom I have known longer than two years. Those six bridesmaids are proof that I was able to find friends and create meaningful relationships with them.
Our fast-paced lifestyles aren’t always conducive to an afternoon meet-and-greet, and we scramble to even be able to FaceTime or send a quick text. Add to that the fact that fostering meaningful relationships is (and always has been) challenging, but even finding friends with whom to engage in those relationships can prove difficult. But friendship starts with you. It may require a perspective change, an open attitude, or a move with initiative, but the friends are out there — and they are looking for friends too.

It&#8217;s been more than a month since a 20-year-old nearly assassinated Donald Trump while he was speaking at a rally, live on national television. I used to say that the gunman had somehow managed to &#8220;evade&#8221; the Secret Service, but actually, he didn&#8217;t even do that. He was spotted by the Secret Service numerous times — including by Secret Service counter-snipers, who saw the gunman on top of a roof, with clear line of sight to Donald Trump, more than <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/trump-assassination-attempt-investigation-continues-new-details/story?id=112020474" target="_blank" rel="noopener">20 minutes</a> before he began shooting. 
The shooter was also photographed walking around the rally openly carrying an AR-15. <a href="https://x.com/realannapaulina/status/1824081386807922689" target="_blank" rel="noopener">This is a picture</a> that was just obtained by Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna:

Short of carrying a sign saying &#8220;I&#8217;m about to assassinate Donald Trump,&#8221; it&#8217;s not clear what the shooter could have done to attract more attention to himself. But the official line remains the same: supposedly the Secret Service didn&#8217;t perceive the shooter as a threat until after he started firing. At this point I’m kind of surprised they got the hint even then. I’m surprised they didn’t turn to each after the shots rang out and say, “Hey, that guy over there seems to be firing a rifle. What do you think he’s up to? Is he trying to communicate something? Is it morse code perhaps?”
But the Secret Service isn’t that oblivious yet, I guess. Anyway, supposedly the agency is deeply embarrassed by all of this, and they&#8217;re doing everything in their power to make sure it never happens again. The Trump security detail is supposedly on high alert, heads on swivels. All the protocols have been revised. Everyone&#8217;s on their best behavior. 
So what does the Secret Service&#8217;s best behavior look like? At Trump&#8217;s rally in North Carolina on Wednesday, we got a pretty good idea. Watch:

So according to RealClearPolitics correspondent Susan Crabtree, this agent was discovered breastfeeding her child instead of doing her job and securing the site where Donald Trump was about to speak. This was just minutes before Trump&#8217;s motorcade arrived. She was in a room that was reserved for emergencies. And on top of that, the agent brought two of her family members to the secure area and allowed them to bypass the security checkpoint. The family members were escorted by an event staffer who also wasn&#8217;t cleared by the Secret Service to be in the secure area.
When I first heard this, I didn&#8217;t think it could possibly be an accurate report. This story would&#8217;ve been unthinkable even before the assassination attempt in Butler. But it&#8217;s even harder to believe afterwards. This agency is apparently so thoroughly corrupt and incompetent that they can&#8217;t even pull it together and pretend to be doing their jobs, even when there&#8217;s a massive and unprecedented amount of scrutiny on them.

But it does appear to be an accurate story. The Secret Service just put out a statement that basically confirmed it: 
<blockquote>While there was no impact to the North Carolina event, the specifics of this incident are being examined. Given this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further.</blockquote>
A good rule of thumb here is that whenever an organization won’t comment on an alleged incident, it means the incident happened. They would be able to comment if it didn’t happen. There are no confidentiality rules preventing anyone from saying that a thing didn’t happen if it didn’t happen. So in other words, yes, the agent left her post to breastfeed and allowed multiple people to bypass a security checkpoint at a Trump rally, a month after he was shot and nearly killed. They won&#8217;t deny it because it&#8217;s true. And no, you&#8217;re not allowed to know anything else. You&#8217;ll never know the identity of this agent, or whether she was fired or even disciplined. Even though the Secret Service works for the taxpayers, and even though they&#8217;re clearly terrible at their jobs, they don&#8217;t have to answer any of your questions.
In fact, they won&#8217;t even really express any concern about what happened. &#8220;There was no impact to the North Carolina event,&#8221; they say, as if that&#8217;s supposed to be remotely reassuring. They don&#8217;t add a line about how tremendously embarrassed they are about this story, and how they&#8217;re going to take steps to make sure that no more agents leave their posts to breastfeed their children while allowing family members to bypass security. They don&#8217;t even mention any of that. They might as well say, &#8220;Hey, this time our massive security lapse didn&#8217;t allow a 20-year-old to shoot Donald Trump in the head, so what&#8217;s the big deal? Geez you people will never be happy. Always nitpicking!”

What that statement conveys is that Secret Service agents routinely violate policy, and the agency isn&#8217;t particularly ashamed about it. There&#8217;s been a lot of reporting to that effect as well in the past few weeks. For example, the Secret Service site agent in charge of the &#8220;security plan&#8221; for the Butler rally apparently still hasn&#8217;t been fired. In fact, the Secret Service director testified that she&#8217;s still actively involved in planning the security of various events. That&#8217;s despite reporting from Susan Crabtree indicating that this particular site agent — whose identity remains concealed — obviously doesn&#8217;t take her job seriously. She&#8217;s openly violated policy numerous times.

<blockquote>Over the last two weeks, the Secret Service inspections department, which investigates employee misconduct, is homing in on allegations against an agent on the Trump detail who played a key role during the Butler rally and is partially responsible for developing the security plan, which contained egregious mistakes that left an opening for shooter Thomas Crooks.  &#8230;.  The agent is now under the microscope not only for her role in devising the security plan for the rally. She’s also facing internal scrutiny for posting videos and photos from her protective assignments to social media.</blockquote>
One of those posts, apparently taken from inside Mar-a-Lago, read: “A sunset to be grateful for.&#8221; The message also included a heart and sunset emojis and the hashtags “#nofilter #southflorida #thankful #workmode …”
So instead of looking for assassins who might be trying to kill Donald Trump, she&#8217;s taking pictures to impress her followers on Instagram. Sure, she might have let an assassin sneak by her, but at least she got some great Instagram content. And that&#8217;s just one of several recent protocol violations by the Secret Service at Mar-a-Lago. Crabtree also reports that there was an incident in which a member of Trump&#8217;s detail:
<blockquote>took cellphone photos of two members of the support staff sleeping in a command post while guarding Mar-a-Lago and circulated those to others on the detail.</blockquote>
There was also an incident in which a random guy off the street was able to sneak into the Miami Secret Service field office and post up for a few days:
<blockquote>Some agents working out in the gym violated office policy by propping open the door to help ventilate the room. A man in shorts and a t-shirt entered through that partially opened door, and no one noticed. The man &#8230; apparently found the bunk room, took a shower, and fell asleep in a bed overnight. &#8230; He accessed computers on an open internet line and downloaded and watched porn. &#8230; The next morning, [he] asked administration staff where he &#8216;could get a cup of coffee around here,&#8217; and the employees responded by fulfilling his request for coffee without realizing he didn’t belong there, the sources said. He then ventured into a class on defensive tactics that a supervisor was teaching. The supervisor confronted him about his identity and apprehended him.</blockquote>
From these stories and many others like them, it&#8217;s clear that the Secret Service is apparently not going to fix anything. This is just too pervasive a problem to fix without completely re-working the entire agency. They can&#8217;t protect presidents. They can&#8217;t even protect their own field offices. They need a complete overhaul at a minimum.
Until that happens, the Secret Service will continue to be strengthened by diversity until a president is actually killed, at which point they’ll still probably blame it on a lack of diversity and commit to getting even more lactating women into the ranks.
That would obviously lead to disaster — and not just for the hapless VIP&#8217;s that these agents would be assigned to protect. It would also be a disaster for the women who are hired.

No one seems to be pointing this out, but what happened in North Carolina underscores the absurdity of having women in positions like this. It’s not just that she was breastfeeding on the job. That’s outrageous, obvious, for a million reasons that probably don’t need to be explained. But I’ll go a step further: even if that agent had waited to breastfeed until she got home, it would still be not only ludicrous but morally insane for her to be in a position like this. She’s a mom of a very young child. Her job requires her to potentially throw herself in front of a bullet to protect whatever government official she’s assigned to. She has to be willing to die as a part of her job description. What happens to her baby then?
Functional societies do not ask, or even allow, mothers to stand on the front lines and take bullets for their country. That’s what men are for. Everyone, myself included, was very critical of that female agent who seemingly hid behind the pile of bodies after Trump was shot. It was a disgraceful sight. But it would be just as disgraceful, for different reasons, if a woman was in front of the pile. And until we can agree on that very basic point — which every civilization before us could agree on — then we don&#8217;t have a chance of fixing this country, much less the Secret Service.

For a couple months now, Gen Z has taken to TikTok in droves to address their concern of being “chronically single.” Generally, when you have a “chronic” illness, you do your best to find a solution, which is what they’re doing. They go on dates semi-regularly, they’re open to being introduced to other people, and they’re willing to try blind dates, but none of these methods seem to be working. So, is there a remedy to this chronic ailment? Potentially. 
Opposite those who are “chronically single” is another group called “repeat offenders,” according to TikTok. It seems that these people have just given up on finding someone to date seriously while letting their standards slip in the process, so they have just become repeat offenders to fill the void.

The comments are divided. While some say they “live for the plot” and are too bored to stay single, others say they would much rather be chronically single than dating a different man each week:

Although the opportunity to get emotionally or physically involved with someone may seem appealing, even if the person isn’t right for you, that will only cause you pain. That type of companionship or method of filling a void will not be worth the hurt it brings in the end. 
Perhaps the most powerful takeaway from the chronically single trend I have seen is that people are not lowering their standards or entering into desperation mode. This girl puts it squarely into perspective:

She acknowledges the unwarranted bad advice singles receive, and then mentions that when a dating situation doesn’t work out, other people are quick to shower you with pity, say how sorry they are, and ask how long you’ve been single, which she has some strong opinions about. Her main point is that she thinks the longer you’re single, the more adamant you become on not settling. Lots of comments concurred:

My husband was 28 when we met, and by the internet’s definition, he was chronically single. He never felt like any of the women he went on a date with were right for him — so he just kept looking. When I met him, I respected the fact he’d never been in a relationship because it showed me he was dating with intention. He valued himself enough not to waste his time going after random girls at bars just to have the satisfaction of being with someone.

Waiting and checking boxes was a common sentiment among both the men and the women in this comment section. If anything, the singles’ standards seem to be getting stronger as they mature and gain more confidence in what they want in a significant other, which I think is positive — so long as your standards don’t include a list of unnecessary “icks.” If your standards include mutual respect, shared values, and common ground in a relationship, keep them high.

She’s a hopeless romantic living in a hook-up culture world. This is incredibly hard for people who have traditional values because those values have gone out of practice in the dating world. Yet this girl has so much clarity and maturity. She isn’t going out and seeking attention from every man she meets, nor has she made dating or hooking up her identity — quite the contrary. At the same time, finding someone to be in a relationship with is on her mind because it’s important to her and she’s not going about it frivolously.

My takeaway after watching all these TikTokers document their chronically single experiences was: I don’t know exactly what to say because everyone has different experiences as to how they found their significant others. By no means do I want to spew cliches. And more than just giving relentless advice, my hope is to break down the problems people are facing in the dating landscape, break down the dating landscape in and of itself so that we can find solutions.
Singles don’t need more advice. They need phone numbers. So be the help, connect your friends, and become part of the solution. This is a huge issue in our culture, and there has to be a way to fix this. So let’s stop with the unhelpful advice and start making connections.

ESPN sportscaster <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ridiculous-espn-sportscaster-makes-it-clear-he-thinks-men-do-not-belong-in-womens-sports">Kirk Herbstreit</a> doubled down on his earlier comments that men do not “belong in women’s sports” and made it clear he doesn’t “give a s***” if people don’t want to hear it.
Speaking Tuesday on OutKick&#8217;s “<a href="https://www.outkick.com/shows/dont-me-with-dan-dakich">Don’t @ Me With Dan Dakich</a>” <a href="https://www.outkick.com/sports/kirk-herbstreit-men-womens-sports-opinion-dan-dakich">podcast</a>, the College GameDay analyst said he has four sons and doesn’t have a daughter, but said he’s tired of not speaking out against men in women’s sports for fear of being canceled.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve been biting my tongue on a lot of topics for three years,&#8221; Herbstreit said. &#8220;I happened to see somebody say what he said, and he said, ‘Should men be able to play in women’s sports?&#8217; And I just said, ‘Ridiculous question, of course not.’”
“I didn&#8217;t dwell on it, I didn&#8217;t give a long answer, that was it,” he added. &#8220;There was way more positive [reaction] than negative &#8212; I&#8217;m sure people were upset, but I think it&#8217;s kind of a no-brainer.&#8221;
The sportscaster said he’s a Christian guy and he’s tired of a different set of rules for a person with traditional values.
&#8220;I didn&#8217;t give a s***. I don&#8217;t really give a s***, at all,” Herbstreit said. “I&#8217;m done giving any s***s, at all, about any of it.”

The comments echoed the post he made on <a href="https://x.com/KirkHerbstreit/status/1820833772247429341">X</a> that went viral, when a person posed a question to him that read, “Do men belong in women’s sports? Time for influential men in sports media to stand up, Kirk,” <a href="https://www.outkick.com/sports/kirk-herbstreit-men-womens-sports">OutKick</a> noted.
The broadcaster saw the post and replied, retweeting the person’s question and answered, “Of course not. Ridiculous question.”
His comments were met with praise by others who agreed that it’s wrong for men to compete against women in female sports, including former ESPN host Sage Steele, who left the network in 2023.
Steele shared Herbstreit’s post and <a href="https://x.com/sagesteele/status/1820895019621867678">added</a> an “applause” emoji.

A trans-identifying male runner from Italy will compete alongside women in the Paralympics in Paris.
Valentina Petrillo, 50, began identifying as a transgender woman in 2018 and began taking cross-sex hormones the next year. He has <a href="https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cpvymmpyjeko" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claimed</a> he knew he was female from as young as age nine.
&#8220;I deserve this selection,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cpvymmpyjeko" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the BBC, adding that &#8220;everyone will have their questions,&#8221; but only a &#8220;minority&#8221; will understand his story.
&#8220;The historic value of being the first transgender woman to compete at the Paralympics is an important symbol of inclusion,&#8221; Petrillo said.
Petrillo will compete for Italy in the T12 classification for athletes with visual impairments. He was diagnosed as a child with Stargardt’s syndrome, a condition where people lose their central vision over time but often keep their peripheral vision.
He previously competed in the men&#8217;s running category and won 11 national titles. Last year, he also won bronze in both the women’s 200 and 400-meter races at the Para Athletics World Championships.

This summer&#8217;s Paris Paralympics run from August 28 to September 8.
The International Paralympic Committee allows each sport&#8217;s governing body to decide whether trans-identifying athletes can compete. For track and field that body is World Para Athletics, which says that anyone legally recognized as a woman can compete in the women&#8217;s category.
Petrillo claimed his &#8220;metabolism has changed&#8221; since taking cross-sex hormones, and he is &#8220;not the energetic person&#8221; he once was.
&#8220;As a sportsperson, to accept that you won&#8217;t go as fast as before is difficult. I had to accept this compromise, because it is a compromise, for my happiness,&#8221; he said.
Asked what he would say to those who say his competing against women is unfair, Petrillo said, &#8220;This is not a lifestyle choice for me, this is who I am.&#8221;
He also argued that the times trans-identifying athletes stood out for their sporting results have been &#8220;very few and far between.&#8221;
The Paris Olympics is already in the middle of another gender-related controversy this summer after two boxers in the women&#8217;s category were revealed to have XY chromosomes.
Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu‑ting of Taiwan were both disqualified from the Women’s World Boxing Championships last year after their chromosome tests came back as XY, according to the president of the International Boxing Association at the time.
However, both boxers were allowed to fight women in the Olympics this year, and both won gold medals.
Khelif <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boxer-who-failed-gender-tests-wins-gold-in-womens-boxing-without-dropping-single-round-entire-olympic-run" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the welterweight gold medal on Friday after winning every round of every fight. Yu-ting <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/another-fighter-who-failed-gender-tests-wins-gold-in-womens-boxing-bloodies-opponent">won</a> gold in the featherweight final match on Saturday.

One topic Gen Z doesn’t mind talking about is dating. Because of all its challenges, some say they are not choosing to prioritize dating, or they are just opting out entirely. To be fair, that is not the case for all of Gen Z. A decent number of twenty-year-olds do very much want to be in a relationship, yet they consistently remain single. A selection of the latter group have, in true Gen Z fashion, taken to social media to air their grievances, labeling themselves “the chronically single friend,” and their stories prove the dating landscape is rough terrain.
I ran across the “chronically single” trending topic on TikTok a month or so ago. These single twentysomethings started making lists about the number of unhelpful (and generally obnoxious) comments people have made to them over the years — and they are over hearing them. In one of the most viral TikToks, a twenty-five-year-old listed a few of the pieces of advice she hears most often, including, “It will happen when you least expect it,” and “Stop looking and that’s when you’ll find it.” She explained, “I haven’t been looking. And it’s the not looking, I fear, that resulted in years of absolutely no contact with a man.”

I do agree that sometimes the best thing to do is to take a step back, focus on yourself, and realign your priorities to know what you actually want in a potential partner. However, society’s push of telling women they don’t need a man has landed some women in this very predicament. This is a balancing act: It is wise to know what you want and be open to dating while also not making finding a significant other your entire life’s mission and fixating on it twenty-four hours a day.
This 25-year-old continues, listing “You’re so lucky” and “Don’t rush it” as two more unhelpful pieces of advice. She concludes by acknowledging that when people set her up with someone, she knows they are trying to help, but she often finds herself in a difficult position when she ends up not being interested. She has a point. I don’t think setting people up is a bad move; in fact, it’s one way to actually help singles — so long as the two people getting set up share commonalities and have potential to be a good match. But just because two people happen to be single does not mean they will automatically have a connection.

She ends telling fellow TikTokers that if they can relate, she’s sorry—and boy did they relate. When this video started circulating, it didn’t stop. One commented that she’s basically tired of focusing on herself. This is something people talk about after getting married and having children because they realize focusing on someone else is life-giving. In our narcissistic society, we don’t even realize how unhealthy and exhausting only focusing on ourselves is. Another commenter was aggravated over receiving contradictory advice:

To her credit, advice-givers never quite seem to extrapolate the nuance about why singles should “stop looking” while simultaneously “put yourself out there.” If you want to be in a relationship with someone, being emotionally available and open to the possibility of dating is definitely smart, but that doesn’t mean you need to go on a date every single night of the week. 
One other response to this chronic single situation hits on a truth that touches on many areas in life: If you don’t have experience in a specific situation, it might be hard to give actual, beneficial advice. Certainly, people are trying to be helpful by offering advice based on their own experiences. But when someone is actively attempting to get out of the chronically single status, that advice can sting.

This trend is holding strong and the videos just keep coming. In another that went viral, a girl commented yet again on the “it will happen when you’re not looking” theme, followed by, “you have to put yourself out there.” These are by far the most commonly cited unhelpful sayings.

Next, she names the “have you tried dating apps?” question to be in the unhelpful lineup. She sarcastically remarks that she’s “never thought of that foreign concept before” and then seriously states, “The dating apps aren’t it.” The apps have, unfortunately, gone downhill over time. They have great potential if they’re used properly, if you are intentional and honest. However, you can only control that on your end; on the other side, people may be simply using apps as a pastime, swiping right and left with no real intent — which seems to be what singles are experiencing now.
She goes on to say that when people tell her she’s young and still has “so much time,” she disagrees. I appreciate that women are even mentioning the fact their biological clock is ticking. Years ago, that would have never even been part of this conversation, whereas now, women are openly saying they want to be married and have kids. This is a shift in culture, which is a really positive one for women.
Most of these videos were posted by women, but there were some men that jumped in too. One, a twenty-eight-year-old guy, says he too is tired of hearing that he needs to put himself out there. While I don’t think this is the worst advice, I do think it should be followed up with an explanation of what that means.

Not all of my generation necessarily even knows what it means to “put yourself out there,” let alone how to do it. We were raised online, our first dating experience was online, and our entire college experience was dominated by Covid, so a lot of Gen Z doesn’t know how to socialize in a way that opens the doors to dating. The reality is, going to bars likely won’t lead to a long-term relationship, whereas joining a rec league and making new friends you see on a consistent basis could lead to other connections.
This man says he’s tired of hearing he should embrace and enjoy his time being single because he’s not enjoying it or having fun anymore. He is watching his friends get married and have kids, which he wants, but he just hasn’t found the right person yet. These are not people who are just looking for hook-ups; they are looking for long-term partners. They value having love and respect for the opposite gender, and by resurrecting these values, they are bringing normalcy and decency back to America.

Interestingly, the last comment is from the 25-year-old single woman who got a jump on the beginning of this trend. This is definitely one way of “putting yourself out there” that I can get behind because, who knows, maybe these two could meet and bond over this. I am all in favor of a TikTok romance.
The fact that this trend has become so popular makes it clear there is a need for some problem solving skills to be put into action. The advice these singles are receiving hasn’t been helping, so it’s time to think of an actual solution.

Since the first state abortion bans kicked in, the legacy media has relentlessly pushed the narrative that women are showing up at emergency rooms needing abortions and are being refused, putting their lives at risk.
&#8220;Abortion bans complicate risky pregnancy care,&#8221; an Associated Press article published Monday <a href="https://apnews.com/article/pregnant-women-emergency-room-ectopic-er-edd66276d2f6c412c988051b618fb8f9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserts</a>.
The article cites several examples of women with ectopic pregnancies and other conditions who were sent home and later suffered complications. In one example from Texas, a bleeding woman with an ectopic pregnancy was misdiagnosed by emergency room doctors as having a miscarriage and sent home, only to return three days later and suffer a ruptured fallopian tube.
In an ectopic pregnancy, the baby implants in the fallopian tube or another unviable place, putting the mother&#8217;s life at risk. Treatment involves either surgery to remove the baby (often the whole fallopian tube) or a medication called methotrexate, which stops the baby from growing.
It&#8217;s unclear why the article is talking about ectopic pregnancies at all since the treatment for that condition is not abortion.
Even abortion mill Planned Parenthood has explicitly acknowledged this, although it has since updated its website to be more vague.
“Treating an ectopic pregnancy isn’t the same thing as getting an abortion,” Planned Parenthood <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dont-believe-pro-abortion-misinformation-what-to-know-about-ectopic-pregnancy-miscarriage-and-more">said</a> on its website. “The medical procedures for abortions are not the same as the medical procedures for an ectopic pregnancy.”
Even if a woman with an ectopic pregnancy did need an abortion though, it would be legal — since <a href="https://www.kff.org/womens-health-policy/issue-brief/a-review-of-exceptions-in-state-abortions-bans-implications-for-the-provision-of-abortion-services/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">every single</a> state abortion ban allows abortions when the life of the mother is at risk.
The AP article does cite several other cases of pregnant women who were in distress.
One Florida woman leaked amniotic fluid for an hour in a hospital&#8217;s emergency waiting room. The emergency room doctor then listed her condition as &#8220;improved&#8221; and discharged her without consulting the hospitals OB-GYN. This happened despite the obstetrics medical director later saying that inducing labor was the &#8220;standard of care&#8221; for any woman with premature rupture of membranes, regardless of the baby&#8217;s heartbeat. The woman miscarried in a public bathroom later that day and was rushed to a different hospital and placed on a ventilator. She was discharged after nearly a week.
The article does not explain what this case has to do with Florida&#8217;s abortion ban although it makes sure readers know the ban was in effect at the time.

In another similar Florida case, a doctor claimed the abortion ban prohibited staff from offering an abortion to a pregnant woman whose water broke at 15 weeks.
