Days after the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks, a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/massachusetts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Massachusetts</a> school district known for <a href="https://www.cpsd.us/departments/human_resources/diversity_and_cultural_proficiency" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushing</a> diversity, equity, and inclusion was accused of supporting white supremacy because of its response to the attacks, according to emails viewed by The Daily Wire. 
On October 13, a sixth grade science teacher at Vassal Lane Upper School in the Cambridge Public School District accused the administration of supporting “white colonists” and criticized them for using the word “terrorist,” according to an <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Email-1_Redacted.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">email</a> obtained by Parents Defending Education and shared with The Daily Wire. The teacher, who is a self-described “white Jewish educator,” was responding to a message that went out on October 12 called “Israel-Hamas War.” 
“In your message yesterday, you communicated that CPS [Cambridge Public Schools] places more value on white lives than brown Muslim lives,” the teacher wrote. “A few thoughts on word choice: The word terrorist brings deeply racialized connotations. You conspicuously did not mention Palestine or Gaza, therefore not including any of our community with connections to those places and people in your extension of care. Israelis are ‘innocent civilians’ but Palestinians simply do not exist.”
While acknowledging that there were “acts of violence” being committed against Israelis, the teacher attacked “white parents,” saying the district only cared when white people were being harmed. 
“Your email ignored this entire picture of life for brown, Muslim Palestinians, and in doing so, told your employees, students, and the people of Cambridge that when a group of highly educated, white parents tells you to abandon your values of racial justice and human dignity for all, you will do so. You have told us that white lives matter and all lives matter, rather than naming the brown lives that matter,” the email said. 
The teacher added that the district had chosen “white supremacy over human rights” and that the “current crisis is clearly a humanitarian one caused by white nationalist rhetoric.” 
Erika Sanzi, the director of outreach for Parents Defending Education, told The Daily Wire that it was concerning that a teacher in the district was going after parents because of their skin color. 
&#8220;Like so many districts, Cambridge employs fanatical people who think that condemning Hamas for the October 7th massacre is white supremacy and can&#8217;t abide parents who stand up for Israel if they are white,” Sanzi said. “This seems disqualifying for a public employee who works with other people&#8217;s children.&#8221;
The Daily Wire asked Cambridge Public Schools to provide a copy of the October 12 message that prompted the anger of the teacher as well as a <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Email-7.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">group of Muslim parents</a> in the district.

A previous statement from District Superintendent Victoria Greer on October 9 only made generic comments related to the attack without referencing Hamas.  
“I want to take a moment to acknowledge the conflict that has unfolded between Israel and Palestine,” Greer <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/First-Statement.pdf">wrote</a>. “Our thoughts and hearts are with the Israeli and Palestinian people, particularly those near and far who have been impacted by the unrest.”
On October 11, the district’s communications director wrote in an <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Email-2_Redacted.pdf">email</a> that they needed to be more explicit in their condemnation of Hamas in their future messages, sharing a tweet from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) that condemned both Hamas and Israel. 
Other emails from teachers in the district are critical of Greer&#8217;s comments related to the October 7 attacks. The Daily Wire asked the district if they had altered their messaging in any way after the criticism from teachers. 
On Wednesday, Greer was given a 90-day notice to resign by the Cambridge School Committee. Greer has been facing criticism from the community over her handling of hiring and alleged toxicity, <a href="https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2024/5/30/cambridge-school-committee-asks-greer-resign/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The Harvard Crimson. 
In the wake of the Hamas terror attack, radical activist groups across the country <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ethnic-studies-groups-bringing-pro-palestinian-anti-western-curriculum-to-schools-parents-group-warns" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have worked</a> to get educators to integrate anti-American, pro-Palestinian, and anti-colonialist resources from a plethora of leftist organizations into their classrooms.

The Utah Royals, a women&#8217;s professional soccer club based in Salt Lake City, faced criticism for their jerseys and stadium, which are named after their sponsor — America First Credit Union, from leftists who claim the term “America First” is rooted in &#8220;fascism&#8221; and &#8220;racism.&#8221;
The credit union, founded in 1939 as the Fort Douglas Civilian Employees Credit Union, changed its name to the Federal Employees Credit Union in 1947 after it moved to Ogden, Utah, then changed it again in 1984 to the America First Credit Union, Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/local/salt-lake-city/2024/04/03/utah-royals-jersey-sponsor-backlash-racist-america-first-credit-union?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=editorial">noted</a>. In 2022, Rio Tinto Stadium, the home stadium for the Royals, was renamed America First Field.
“The ‘America’ in our name denotes our connection to our founding members — civilian federal employees who worked at the American military bases and defense depots in Utah,” a representative for America First Credit Union explained. “Those early members&#8217; deep and abiding sense of service and patriotism is something that continues to be felt within our membership to this day,” adding that “first” referred to “putting the financial needs of their members at the forefront.”
“In a March 30 statement, two supporter groups for the Washington Spirit and D.C. United said the company&#8217;s defense of their name ‘ignores the complex and hateful history of the name and the ongoing effects of American nationalism and white supremacy that ‘America First’ expresses,’” Axios reported.
After an account claiming to represent supporters of the North Carolina Courage posted on X, “We must weigh in on the jersey controversy. While we support all the Utah players and their fans, we can’t stand by without mentioning the front of jersey sponsor, America First Credit Union, of our opponent — the Royals. The phrase ‘America First’ has a long history rooted in racism, fascism, and hateful ideology,” Utah governor Spencer Cox responded by posting, “Just when you think this website can’t get any more ridiculous. (I had to double check if this was a parody account…sadly it is not).”

One of the beauties of life is the simple fact that no matter how stupid things get, reality always wins.
Whether your personal life or whether politics writ broadly, the simple fact of the matter is, eventually, you are going to run up against reality — and reality is going to win.
That doesn&#8217;t mean bad political ideas can&#8217;t emerge victorious in the short- or even the mid-term.
It does mean the realities of human nature, the realities of the world surrounding you, don&#8217;t just go away. And ultimately, those policies will fail dramatically. The dumber the policies, the faster they tend to fail.
One of those dumb ideas that has obviously taken center stage of late has been the dumb idea of woke.

Woke is a foolish idea. Now, what exactly is wokeness? Wokeness is the basic idea that if there is any sort of disparity between group outcomes in American life, that group disparity is due to discrimination. The only corrective is, therefore, reverse discrimination or some form of discrimination that is going to equalize the outcomes of the various groups.
We have seen a wide variety of policies that have been implemented in order to close all of these gaps. The Quest for Cosmic Justice — as the great thinker of our time Thomas Sowell has put it — is a foolish quest. It is not something that can be solved because the reality is the vast majority of group gaps are either inborn or they are the result of culture and environment — because those are all the factors that there are.
That does not mean every result is the result of inborn differences. Differences in intellectual outcome very often are about educational or cultural differences as opposed to, for example, height differentials between particular groups; those are about genetics. This happens throughout life.
Looking at the rationales for why things are different in terms of outcomes between groups can be a good way of crafting good policy — but we&#8217;ve thrown all of that out in favor of stupidity. Now, we are going to educate our children in the stupidity, which does not reflect reality. We are seeing the results of that.
The <a href="https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/woke-kindergarten-glassbrook-hayward-18635504.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">San Francisco Chronicle</a> reported on this:
<blockquote>A Hayward elementary school struggling to boost low test scores and dismal student attendance is spending $250,000 in federal money for an organization called Woke Kindergarten to train teachers to confront white supremacy, disrupt racism and oppression and remove those barriers to learning.
The Woke Kindergarten sessions train teachers on concepts and curriculum that’s available to use in classrooms with any of Glassbrook Elementary’s 474 students. The sessions are funded through a federal program meant to help the country’s lowest-performing schools boost student achievement. </blockquote>
The basic theory behind this program is that if you just teach kids self-esteem, they will magically become smarter and better performing. If you teach them about the radical injustices of the life they lead in the freest country in the history of the world, then they will magically perform better.
Only one problem: It fails because reality always wins.
The Chronicle continues, <a href="https://jessesingal.substack.com/p/woke-kindergarten-is-capitalism-at#:~:text=A%20Hayward%20elementary%20school%20struggling,remove%20those%20barriers%20to%20learning" target="_blank" rel="noopener">saying</a>:
<blockquote>But two years into the three-year contract with Woke Kindergarten, a for-profit company, student achievement at Glassbrook has fallen, prompting some teachers to question whether the money was well spent given the needs of the students, who are predominantly low-income. Two-thirds of the students are English learners and more than 80% are Hispanic/Latino. </blockquote>
This is not a particular shock because woke kindergarten is a stupid idea. Teaching kids terrible ideas is likely to make them perform worse, not better. District officials defended the program, saying the kindergarten did what it was hired to do.
That&#8217;s true, albeit not in the way they intended. They made the scores lower. It made things worse.

One of the most amazing attributes of the nonprofit world, and this is true virtually across the board, is that nonprofits are constantly exacerbating the problems they are supposed to fight so they can raise money to fight those problems.
This happens all the time in nonprofit land. One of the jobs of politically motivated people on the Left is to exacerbate inequalities so as to claim inequity.
That is the goal. Because if at any point those inequalities actually narrowed as a result of freedom and good incentive structures, then what would they do for a living?

George Alan Kelly is a 75-year-old rancher who lived for more than a decade on a 170-acre property in Kino Springs, Arizona, which is just over a mile from the southern border. On January 13, 2023, Kelly sent a text message to his son, telling him that he had spotted &#8220;33 drug runners&#8221; on the property.
The message itself was nothing out of the ordinary. For years, Kelly had made similar complaints about illegal migrants trespassing at his ranch on their way into the United States. Sometimes, Kelly told his family members, these migrants were armed. But on this particular occasion, Kelly made an unusual request. He asked his son if he could drive up and help defend the property. His son replied, &#8220;Nope. Be careful.&#8221; Kelly&#8217;s next <a href="https://www.kold.com/2023/08/11/texts-reveal-mindset-arizona-rancher-accused-murder/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">text</a>: &#8220;Careful is not an option. It is either fight or run, and I’m too old to run. Mom is locked and loaded also.&#8221;
Seventeen days later, yet another group of illegal migrants trespassed onto Kelly&#8217;s ranch. This time it was at least three people, probably more. Kelly <a href="https://santacruzcountyaz.gov/DocumentCenter/View/17385/CR-23-026-Reply-in-suppor-of-states-motion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> authorities that he was frightened because he had heard gunfire earlier in the day from a larger group of migrants. So, to warn this new group of migrants away, Kelly fired a series of warning shots with his rifle. One of those shots, authorities allege, killed a 48-year-old illegal alien from Mexico. This illegal alien had been arrested and deported several times from the United States, but he was able to keep coming back to this country because the White House decided not to enforce immigration law.
This week, George Alan Kelly <a href="https://people.com/murder-trial-set-as-az-rancher-waves-plea-deal-for-fatal-shooting-of-migrant-near-border-8422922" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rejected</a> a plea deal offered by prosecutors. They wanted him to plead guilty to negligent homicide and serve eight years in prison. But he told them no. So Kelly&#8217;s trial for murder will take place in a couple of months.
Whatever you think of George Alan Kelly or his case — and personally I think the man shouldn’t spend one single second in jail for defending his property from invasion — there&#8217;s no denying that the Biden administration deliberately created the circumstances that led to the shooting. This is an elderly man with no criminal history, who was trying to protect his wife from criminals the Biden administration repeatedly encouraged to trespass on his property. No one disputes that.

Unsurprisingly, though, when he delivered a speech in South Carolina yesterday on the topic of systemic injustice in the United States, Joe Biden did not mention George Alan Kelly. In fact, as far as I can tell, Joe Biden has never mentioned Kelly a single time. Instead, Biden devoted his entire speech to what he calls the greatest threat facing this country: something called &#8220;white supremacy.&#8221; This white supremacy, Biden argued, is a far greater danger to the United States than the wide-open southern border, which allows foreign criminals to terrorize American citizens and invade their property. To that end, Biden spoke extensively about a mass shooting that took place in that church nearly a decade ago, in 2015. Watch:

White supremacy is a poison, Biden says. It&#8217;s tearing the fabric of this country apart. And to prove that point — to prove how pervasive and all-encompassing white supremacy is — Biden began talking about a mass shooting that occurred in 2015. There have been a lot of shootings and homicides since then. Well over 100,000 homicides in the nine years since that shooting. A hugely disproportionate number of those victims have been black. But Biden isn’t interested in talking about that, because, of course, a hugely disproportionate number of the people killing those black people are also black. So instead we go back to 2015, to make the point about white supremacy.
Biden is also of course not interested in talking about all the mass shootings that have been committed by trans-identifying mass shooters since 2015. There have been several of those. And Biden certainly isn&#8217;t talking about the killer who <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/01/us/cleveland-texas-neighbor-shooting-monday/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mowed down</a> five people last year in Texas, including a nine-year-old boy. Yes, the killer had been deported four times before once again entering the U.S. illegally. But that&#8217;s not the point, Biden says. He doesn&#8217;t want you thinking about the preventable, systemic failures of his administration. Instead, he wants you to focus on the one mass shooting he pretends to care about, so he can demonize men who look like George Alan Kelly.
At this point you have to ask — does anyone actually buy this anymore? It&#8217;s not 2020. Most people seem to have come down from the hysteria they experienced after George Floyd’s overdose death. Many people seem to have had some time to come to their senses. So does this still work? If I were to list the top 5,000 problems facing the United States in 2024, white supremacy wouldn&#8217;t get close to making the list. Does anyone seriously think otherwise at this point?
You&#8217;re not supposed to linger on what Biden said, of course. You&#8217;re supposed to get outraged about a church shooting from a decade ago, and conclude that white people are a big problem. Joe Biden&#8217;s handlers are going for emotion, not reason. But it&#8217;s important to dwell on this for a little bit, just to underscore how totally and completely dishonest Biden&#8217;s position is. Even if you use the Left&#8217;s data and pretend it&#8217;s all accurate, there&#8217;s still no conceivable argument that &#8220;white supremacy&#8221; is a significant threat in this country, or that any of our major problems can be traced back to it.
Consider a <a href="https://www.adl.org/resources/report/murder-and-extremism-united-states-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from Left-wing ADL, which is effectively an arm of the Democratic Party, from last year. The report states that: &#8220;All the extremist-related murders in 2022 were committed by right-wing extremists.&#8221; And of those murders, the ADL reports, 80% were committed by white supremacists.
Well, that sounds pretty bad. Reuters certainly thought so. They wrote up a whole <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/white-supremacists-behind-over-80-extremism-related-us-murders-2022-2023-02-23/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> with this headline: &#8220;White supremacists behind over 80% of extremism-related U.S. murders in 2022.&#8221; It&#8217;s all very scary, until you do what the ADL doesn&#8217;t want you to do, which is to look at the data for more than five seconds.
For one thing, in all of 2022, there were a total of just 25 extremist-related murders that the ADL identified. That&#8217;s for the entire country of 330 million people. We&#8217;re talking about 25 murders here. For comparison, far more people are struck by lightning every year in the United States. Has anyone ever said that lightning strikes are the greatest threat facing Americans? It&#8217;s absurd. Here’s maybe a better comparison to put 25 into context. The city of Chicago does 25 murders in two weeks. That’s one city, in the span of a half of a month. But 25 alleged “extremist related murders” in the entire country, in the entire year, is a crisis.
So with that context in mind, let&#8217;s look at the ADL&#8217;s language. They say that, &#8220;60% of the murders came from just two incidents—deadly shooting sprees in Buffalo, New York, and Colorado Springs, Colorado.&#8221; So for the most part we&#8217;re talking about a grand total of two incidents. And one of those mass shootings — the shooting in Colorado — was committed by a <a href="https://apnews.com/article/crime-shootings-colorado-gun-politics-denver-766baba4c80bb470eba9e6146c7b42aa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">self-described non-binary</a> individual whose lawyer demanded that the court respect his preferred pronouns. This is someone the ADL has coded as a &#8220;right-wing domestic extremist.” That’s because the ADL’s methodology has determined that, by definition, if someone commits a mass shooting, they are automatically a right-wing extremist.
That’s the way it works with this kind of data. It’s not designed to withstand any kind of scrutiny. The point is to convince Americans that there&#8217;s an epidemic of white nationalists committing mass shootings, and to demonize the political enemies of the Biden administration, in order to lay the groundwork for their imprisonment or worse. That&#8217;s why they&#8217;re lying about &#8220;right-wing extremism.&#8221; It&#8217;s why they&#8217;re going after George Alan Kelly.
It&#8217;s also why the Biden campaign just posted this graphic on social media, which explicitly <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/12/20/biden-trump-hitler-post-00132774" target="_blank" rel="noopener">compares</a> Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler:

They list a bunch of Trump quotes and try to link them with Hitler quotes as clumsily as possible. In fact, they aren’t even full quotes. They are vaguely paraphrasing Trump, and Hitler, and then expecting us to be mind-blown by how closely the two align. The funny thing is that they say Trump is like Hitler because Trump has declared that forces within our country are worse and more dangerous than enemies outside of the country. But that’s exactly the sort of thing that the Biden administration says all the time. They are constantly warning that “domestic extremists” are a greater threat than foreign terrorists. That was the point of the speech Biden just gave yesterday. The only difference is that Trump generally identifies powerful people and institutions — like the media — as his enemies. Biden, on the other hand, goes after conservative voters. His bogeyman is “MAGA Republicans,” which means the tens of millions of American citizens who support Trump.
That&#8217;s the level of political discourse we&#8217;ve achieved in this country. It&#8217;s not subtle or intelligent or clever in any way. This is a campaign to dehumanize anyone who would vote against the Biden administration, so that they can be imprisoned or worse. And it&#8217;s been going on for quite some time.
This week, The Washington Free Beacon <a href="https://freebeacon.com/biden-administration/how-the-biden-administration-put-race-at-the-center-of-government-spending/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the Biden administration has once again begun distributing federal funds on the basis of race. You might remember that, all the way back in the beginning of the Biden administration, they tried to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/23/us/politics/biden-debt-relief-black-farmers.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allocate</a> farm aid based on the skin color of the farmers. The administration was going to make loan forgiveness payments to so-called &#8220;minority farmers,&#8221; to the tune of $4 billion. A federal judge had to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/23/us/politics/biden-debt-relief-black-farmers.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">put a stop</a> to that. But now they&#8217;re doing essentially the same thing again.
According to the Free Beacon, there are hundreds of millions of dollars <a href="https://freebeacon.com/biden-administration/how-the-biden-administration-put-race-at-the-center-of-government-spending/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allocated</a> in two pieces of federal legislation —the Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The point of legislation, Biden said, was to &#8220;create new well-paying jobs&#8221; for workers who &#8220;helped build this country.&#8221; The idea is to provide financial support to industries that are going to be phased out as the Biden administration plunges headlong into its suicidal plan to shut down the nation&#8217;s coal industry by 2035. But if you read the fine print, as the Free Beacon did, you&#8217;ll find that White House bureaucrats have been insisting that only &#8220;majority minority&#8221; areas receive federal funding under this legislation. And they&#8217;ve rigged various bureaucratic rules to make that a reality. Majority white areas — like Gillette, Wyoming — are getting shut out of these grants entirely, even though they&#8217;re mining towns that would qualify for the money in every other respect. Too bad, they have the wrong skin color up in Gillette, so no money for them.
Again, this is part of an easily observable pattern. Everywhere you look, the administration is doing what it can to demonize and humiliate Americans because of their race.

As just one more part of that effort, Joe Biden&#8217;s National Park Service recently <a href="https://www.wsj.com/us-news/park-service-withdraws-plan-to-remove-william-penn-statue-5eae8cf5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">proposed</a> removing the William Penn statue from a park in Philadelphia. William Penn is the founder of the state of Pennsylvania, and Biden wanted his memorial gone, because he’s white. This comes just a few weeks after the Biden administration ordered a century-old memorial to postwar <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/12/22/ominously-biden-admin-will-tear-down-monument-to-reconciliation-at-arlington-cemetery/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reconciliation</a> to be torn down in Arlington National Cemetery. In the case of the Penn statue, they wanted to replace it with something honoring Native Americans. Why? Because William Penn did great things. He founded the colony that became Pennsylvania. He was imprisoned in the Tower of London, without hesitation, for his faith, multiple times. He believed in religious freedom. And of course, he was white. Those were his sins, so they tried to take him down, just like the statues of Columbus and Teddy Roosevelt.
But late yesterday, in a development we haven&#8217;t seen in many similar cases, the Biden administration suddenly <a href="https://www.wsj.com/us-news/park-service-withdraws-plan-to-remove-william-penn-statue-5eae8cf5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">backed off</a>. People noticed how deranged this plan was, and they spoke up about it. And within just a few hours, the White House caved. The Penn statue can stay for now, they conceded. All it took was some social media backlash and complaints from a few politicians, and they folded. But the important fact is that they tried to do it in the first place.
They may have backed away from their demolition plans for the William Penn statue, but they are not backing away from the underlying agenda. As we head closer to the election, you can expect to hear a lot more demonizing of white people, and many more warnings about the phantom dangers of white supremacy. Warnings that should be greeted with the same shrugs and eye rolls and confused head scratches that Biden would get if he said the greatest threat facing our country is a big evil dragon, who lives in a lair up in the mountains somewhere. He might as well be saying that.
After all, we have to worry about white supremacy in this country about as much as we have to worry about evil dragons. But this is all that the Powers That Be have. It’s what they rely on. They need you scared, and angry, and resentful, and confused. That’s the only way they win.

There are two major problems with the notion of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
The first is the inherent discrimination in the concept: the belief that all aspects of success are due to exploitation and discrimination. This means, when applied to groups, statistically underperforming groups are to be considered “victimized,” whether or not they are victims, and to be treated with special privileges; those who are members of statistically overachieving groups, whether or not they are victimized, are to be treated as villains. 
The only possible exception to this hierarchy is white men, who are always to be treated as villains, whether their group is underperforming or overperforming in any given situation.
This philosophy is how you get a holiday party for “Electeds of Color” thrown by Asian Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. Apparently, this “Electeds of Color” party has been happening for a decade in Boston.

Obviously, this is discriminatory and wrong. If there were a white-electeds-only party, of course, that would be violative of federal discrimination law. But DEI insists you cannot be wrong so long as you’re a member of the victimhood hierarchy.
So that’s the first problem with DEI: It’s racist.
Then there’s the second problem, not disconnected to the first: mediocrity.

If success is to be treated as sinful and failure as virtuous — because victimhood is virtue — then mediocrity is the happy middle wherein you can avoid being completely terrible at things and also escape censure for being good at them.
So it is in academia, where racially diverse mediocrity is preferable to non-race-based meritocratic achievement. See, for example, Harvard, where <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/oh-to-be-a-black-harvard-president">President Claudine Gay</a>, despite apparently being both a serial plagiarist and a soft-on-anti-Semitism leader, is still in her job.
Or, see Chicago, where Mayor Brandon Johnson — the even worse successor to Lori Lightfoot — announced his plans to kill Chicago’s high-achieving selective-enrollment schools, since they weren’t racially diverse enough. Chicago Public Schools CEO Pedro Martinez has put forth <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12864439/Chicago-Mayor-Brandon-Johnson-selective-enrollment-high-schools.html">a resolution</a> seeking “a transition away from privatization and admissions/enrollment policies and approaches that further stratification and inequity in CPS and drive student enrollment away from neighborhood schools.”
Better that high-achieving students be trapped in the crappy local school than they be able to go to a better school. Mediocrity for all!
And so it is at the White House, where equity prevails above all. 
Now, when the Biden White House promised equity would be at the heart of all they do, they meant it. Which, presumably, is why Dr. Jill Biden — the greatest of all doctors — invited the Dorrance Dance company to perform a version of the “Nutcracker” ballet at the White House. 
There’s nothing wrong with the concept here; the “Nutcracker” is a famous Christmastime piece of culture, and tap dance is a historically black American art form with a long and storied Hollywood history. Many if not most of the greatest tap artists in history have been black Americans, from the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNKRm6H-qOU" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nicholas Brothers</a> to Bill “Bojangles” Robinson to Gregory Hines. 
Now, of course, like most of what is amazing in America, tap has been adopted by people of all cultures — which is how you end up with Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, two of the greatest American artists of all time.
So, there was plenty of history and quality for the Biden White House to choose from in picking their Christmas tap routine.
But what the White House presented wasn’t good tap dancing. It wasn’t terrible. It was just … well, <a href="https://twitter.com/FLOTUS/status/1735074586721468855" target="_blank" rel="noopener">meh</a>.

Now, why was Dorrance Dance picked to do this much-mocked routine? Presumably, it had something to do with the politics of the group. Michelle Dorrance, founder of the group, has dedicated the group to “antiracism.” Here is what she <a href="https://www.dorrancedance.com/antiracism-michelles-why" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on her website: 
<blockquote>It is our job to tell the history of tap dance as a celebration of Black culture and also the never-ending struggle against systemic racism and white supremacy in this country &#8211; the origin story of appropriation in American culture. In 2020, I am a part of the way this story plays out. I am a white tap dancer with Black cultural ancestors in a society that privileges white people and whiteness. I am easy for white audiences wanting to access and experience elements of Black culture to swallow.</blockquote>
Dorrance says that tap dance is “both a tradition born of subversion/revolution/protest and a powerful vehicle for social and political change” and adds that as a beneficiary of “white privilege that I invite you to join me in lifelong antiracism work. Understanding how deeply embedded white supremacy, racism, and colonialism is in our culture is paramount to understanding our role (as white people) in perpetuating it, and embracing our job to dismantle it.”
Or, you know, you could just dance.
Because here’s the reality of a free country: Quality improves everyone and everything. All the black tap artists I mentioned did more for racial comity and black Americans than Michelle Dorrance ever will — because they demonstrated, to anyone who would even think that race ought to define someone, that incredible artistry spans and transcends race.
But when DEI is your goal, mediocrity is all too often the result.

There are a lot of threats facing America these days.
One is the threat of fiscal collapse.
Mid-to-long-term, America’s economic system is increasingly unsustainable. We’re running a $33 trillion national debt; our actual national debt, including unfunded liabilities, runs another $80 trillion over the next 75 years. Virtually all of those figures are driven by Medicare and Social Security shortfalls. This means, sooner or later, we’re going to have to radically increase taxes, cut benefits, or inflate our currency.
Another threat is the threat of foreign aggression.
The United States is lucky in that we are surrounded by an ocean on one side, Mexicans to the South, and Canadians to the North.
But that doesn’t mean we’re invulnerable. As the world becomes a more dangerous place — as American power recedes — we will feel that everywhere from our pocketbook to our military budget. American hegemony has created a global economy which has paid off for the American consumer in extraordinary ways. That can easily be reversed — and indicators are, it will be.
A third thread is the threat of internal moral collapse.
Indeed, this threat is the chief factor behind the first two threats. As our communities die, our local institutions lose credibility and loyalty, we stop having children, and our economy turns upside down. The government grows, but the population that has to fund it doesn’t; government spending increases, but the population supporting it doesn’t. As the post-American future takes hold at home, it will similarly take hold abroad, with our enemies ready to fill the gap.

That last threat is the truly frightening one.
It is the reason for America’s polarized politics: We once shared basic values, particularly at the local level, but now, those values have fallen away, replaced with hatred and rage at Christians and white Americans.
Take, for example, James Carville. Carville is a Clintonian political voice and a person who has routinely urged the Democratic Party to move away from its most extreme and radical positions, understanding they are electoral poison. But now, he has apparently decided that the Republican Party in general is a threat to the United States — that it is a Christian nationalist party.
What does he mean by that term? Apparently, he doesn’t mean that many Republicans prefer to see a revitalized church at the center of American life, a proposition with which I wholeheartedly agree as an Orthodox Jew. No, he means the Republican Party is — in the words of far-Left Daily Kos founder, Markos Moulitsas — an American Taliban.
Carville <a href="https://twitter.com/JCNSeverino/status/1731684523040014751" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on Bill Maher’s show on Friday night, “(House Speaker) Mike Johnson and what he believes is one of the greatest threats we have today to the United States. I know these people. (Christian nationalists). This is a bigger threat than Al Qaeda to this country. … They have the Speaker of the House; they got at least two Supreme Court Justices, maybe more. Don’t kid yourself.”

Now, this is truly nutty stuff. In Carville’s view, two Supreme Court justices and the Speaker of the House are leading the charge for a Christian theocracy. And they are a bigger threat than the terrorist group responsible for September 11.
Carville isn’t the only Democratic voice who sees traditional Republicans as the enemy. There is also grifter extraordinaire Ibram X. Kendi, who says his fellow Americans are generally white supremacists.
This, apparently, will be the Democratic Party’s campaign in 2024: Republicans are Christian theocrats and white supremacists. The entire Republican Party is dominated by a desire for white Christian fascism — or something like that.
The response, presumably, would be an alliance of the secularists and people of color. Not shockingly, that’s precisely the coalition the Democratic Party seems to be wooing.
And they are doing so with ugly scare tactics.

That’s why the Atlantic is dedicating its first issue of 2024 to suggesting that a vote for Donald Trump in 2024 is a vote for a fascist regime. A note from official Obama jockstrap-carrier Jeffrey Goldberg, editor of the rag, reads, “I encourage you to read all of the articles in this special issue carefully (though perhaps not in one sitting, for reasons of mental hygiene). Our team of brilliant writers makes a convincingly dispositive case that both Trump and Trumpism pose an existential threat to America and to the ideas that animate it.”
Yes, according to the Atlantic, if you vote for Trump, you have handed away America’s future.
This sort of messaging is being promoted by Republicans experiencing “Strange New Respect™” (i.e., the respect you receive when you start mimicking Democratic lines), like Liz Cheney, who is mirroring the <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/liz-cheney-tells-cbs-news-sunday-morning-that-the-u-s-is-sleepwalking-into-a-dictatorship/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">doom-mongering</a> of the Left.
Ironically, this very alarmism is one of the root threats to America. 
Countries in which both sides start speaking about how the next election is the last election — about how their political opponents, if they win, mean the end of the country — are in serious danger. That sort of scaremongering may get out votes, but it also sets the house on fire in the name of saving the house. 
Understand, I want Joe Biden to lose. I think he is a terrible president doing dangerous things that will be difficult to rectify. But the end of America is not nigh in 2024 — not unless, ironically, everyone keeps saying it is. The closer both sides draw to the abyss — the more each party says the next election is the last election — the more that fantasy draws closer to reality.
And that is a true threat to the Republic.

On Monday, the long-hidden manifesto of the Nashville, Tennessee, trans school shooter was leaked.
On March 27, 2023, the shooter, a 28-year-old woman who believed she was a man, opened fire at the Covenant School in Green Hills, killing six people. 
Given the identity of the shooter, the media quickly jumped to the narrative that the story was about lack of gun control. In fact, that narrative quickly spun into a narrative about racism after two black Democratic lawmakers illegally stormed the House floor in Tennessee, took control of the chamber, and then faced the prospect of expulsion from their seats.
Gun control and racism against black Americans — those were the narratives the media spun about the Nashville shooting. 
The real story, obviously, wasn’t that.
It was the evil insanity of the shooter herself.

What might have forced coverage of that issue would have been the shooter’s manifesto. In virtually all other cases in which a mass shooter leaves a manifesto, the manifesto, or at least its general message, is made public nearly immediately: the August 2023 Jacksonville shooting targeting black Americans featured a white supremacist manifesto; the 2019 El Paso shooting targeting Hispanic Americans featured a white supremacist manifesto; the 2015 Charleston church shooting featured a white supremacist manifesto. 
The shooter in Nashville had a manifesto too.
But we were told that it was utterly unclear just why the shooter had targeted a religious school. And we were told that the manifesto was “rambling,” without a clear political motivation. In fact, a federal law enforcement official told NBC News that “no direct motive has been established in the investigation and suggested the driving force of the attack was similar to previous school shootings in which the assailant was drawn to other mass killers.” 
We were told that the manifesto might never be released, despite the fact that the Nashville Police Department released a list of items belonging to the shooter, including a suicide note, three folders, and 19 journals. 
It has now been seven months. The manifesto still has not been released.
But Steven Crowder’s investigative team somehow obtained three pages of the manifesto. Here is some of what it says:
<blockquote>Kill those kids!!! Those crackers going to private fancy schools with those fancy khakis and sports backpacks, with their daddy’s mustangs and convertibles. F*** you little s***s. I wish to shoot you weak*** d***s with your mop yellow hair, wanna kill all you little crackers!!! Bunch of little fa**ots with your white privileges. F*** you fa**ots.”” 
Today is the day, the day has finally come! I can’t believe it’s here. Don’t know how I was able to get this far, but here I am. I’m a little nervous but excited too. Been excited for the past 2 weeks. There were several times I could have been caught, especially back in the summer of 2021. None of that matters now. I’m almost an hour and seven minutes away. Can’t believe I’m doing this, but I’m ready… I hope my victims aren’t. My only fear is if anything goes wrong, I’ll do my best to prevent any of the sort (God let my wrath take over my anxiety). It might be 10 minutes tops. It might be 3-7. It’s gunna go quick. I hope I have a high death count.</blockquote>
So, what do we know about the shooter? We know that the shooter spouted radical Left-wing slogans about white privilege and wanted to shoot white kids. We also know that the shooter came out as a transgender man on Facebook in 2022. We know that the shooter attended the Christian school as a 10-year-old.
In other words, we know that a transgender person suffering from severe mental illness and citing Left-wing slogans on race targeted white Christian kids. Were the case the reverse — were the shooter a religious Christian targeting sexually confused children of color — the manifesto would have been released almost immediately. The entire media conversation would have centered on the evils of Christianity and white racism in America. 
But this story had to be buried — and quickly.
It is not OK to talk about trans violence in the United States, despite violent threats that attach to anyone who says that men are not women. In fact, the Washington Post ran an entire piece after the trans school shooting claiming the Right was “exploit[ing] Nashville shooting to escalate anti-trans rhetoric.” The White House issued its sympathy for trans people overall, with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre intoning, “Our hearts go out to the trans community as they are under attack right now.&#8221; The story is always that trans Americans are experiencing a massive wave of deadly violence — even though the story isn’t true. 
It is not OK to talk about anti-white violence in the United States either. Whiteness, we have been told, must be abolished. Whiteness is inherently privileged. Whiteness is a disease, a curse. Never mind the fact that in 2021, 87% of all non-lethal interracial violent crimes committed between blacks and whites were black-on-white, as Heather Mac Donald points out. Whiteness is the problem.

The fact that these are cherished Left-wing narratives means they must be protected at all costs. And that means burying an inconvenient manifesto.
In reality, if we’re going to release any mass shooter’s manifesto, we must release all of them. If we’re going to examine the motives of mass shooters in order to uncover supposedly unique American ills, we are owed the full panoply of the criminally evil.
But we won’t get that full view. 
And we all know why.

Elon Musk and Joe Rogan joined in the widespread mockery of an <a href="https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/pandemic-fitness-trends-have-gone-extreme-literally-n1292463?cid=sm_npd_ms_tw_ma&amp;taid=64abebca8cb4af0001865cf7&amp;utm_campaign=trueanthem&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MSNBC opinion columnist</a>&#8216;s bizarre claim from March 2022, complete with a reference to Adolph Hitler, that physical fitness is an evil trick used by white supremacists to recruit supporters.
Professor Cynthia Miller-Idriss of American University in Washington, D.C., claimed in the article, which MSNBC retweeted on Monday, that the “far right has taken advantage of pandemic at-home fitness trends to expand its decade-plus radicalization of physical mixed martial arts (MMA) and combat sports spaces.” Twitter and Tesla boss Musk and podcast superstar Rogan, who is a well-known fitness buff, were quick to ridicule the claim.
“MSNBC thinks you&#8217;re a nazi if you work out lmaooo,” Musk tweeted, adding, “Parody &amp; reality are becoming indistinguishable.”
“Being healthy is ‘far right.’ Holy f***,” Joe Rogan echoed.
Miller-Idriss declared that new recruits to the far-right movement are “lured with health tips and strategies for positive physical changes,” adding that “researchers” say the recruits are then invited to closed-chat groups.
The author cited Hitler, saying the German dictator&#8217;s “Mein Kampf” showed he was “fixated on boxing and jujitsu, believing they could help him create an army of millions whose aggressive spirit and impeccably trained bodies, combined with ‘fanatical love of the fatherland,’ would do more for the German nation than any ‘mediocre’ tactical weapons training.”
“The intersection of extremism and fitness leans into a shared obsession with the male body, training, masculinity, testosterone, strength and competition,” Miller-Idriss stated. “Physical fitness training, especially in combat sports, appeals to the far right for many reasons: fighters are trained to accept significant physical pain, to be ‘warriors,’ and to embrace messaging around solidarity, heroism, and brotherhood. It&#8217;s championed as a tool to help fight the ‘coming race war’ and the street battles that will precede it.”
Other Twitter users were equally incredulous at the claim linking health and fitness to the far-Right, including <a href="https://twitter.com/kylamb8/status/1678454790437707800?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one who wrote</a> that &#8220;MSNBC fears fitness, home schooling, parental rights, and religious liberty,&#8221; and <a href="https://twitter.com/FNCriticGuy/status/1678522873151889410?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">another opining</a> that the claim &#8220;seems like an insane conspiracy theory to me, but I&#8217;m probably just &#8220;far-right&#8221; too.&#8221;
In March, Miller-Idriss wrote an <a href="https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/ohio-couple-used-homeschooling-spread-nazi-ideaoly-rcna68406" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> claiming that some homeschooling was linked to far-Right movements, noting “a strategy that has long been key to white supremacist groups: indoctrinating their children through curriculum designed to teach white supremacy, while keeping them out of what they see as the brainwashing multiculturalism of public schools.”

The Associated Press kicked off the Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday with an article explaining why the word &#8220;patriot&#8221; has become problematic in recent years.
In the article, the outlet argued that the word had been overtly political and taken up by extremist groups, used in ways that made it less about love for the country and more about hatred for certain minority groups.

A former Pennsylvania State University at Abington professor <a href="https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/23857287/show_temp23.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has filed suit</a> against his former employer, saying that he was discriminated against because he is white and the school violated his free speech when he spoke out against the school’s “race-based dogma and discrimination.”
The suit, first filed earlier this month, was brought by Zack De Piero, a professor who taught English at the school for about four years before he resigned in August 2022. In the lawsuit, lawyers from the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism (FAIR) outline several incidents that De Piero says shows the school targeted him because of his skin color. 
&#8220;When he complained about the continuous stream of racial insult directed at White faculty in the writing department, the director of the Affirmative Action Office told him that ‘There is a problem with the White race,’ that he should attend ‘antiracist’ workshops ‘until you get it,’ and that he might have mental health issues,&#8221; the lawsuit says. 
According to De Piero, he was told by university officials to excuse poor academic performance from black and Hispanic students in the name of “social justice” and “antiracism.” The lawsuit claims that he was asked to “penalize” the scores of certain students in order to “equalize outcomes on the basis of race.” 
De Piero and others were also told to watch racialized training videos with names like “White Teachers Are a Problem,” which suggested that all white people are <a href="https://freeblackthought.substack.com/p/the-best-microaggression-training">complicit</a> in white supremacy. 
In the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, De Piero says the racial activism at the school increased. Former Assistant Vice President for Education Equity Alina Wong appeared to encourage looting, according to the suit. “What we call looting, I think of as just getting what you’re due,” Wong reportedly said. 
FAIR legal advocacy managing director Leigh Ann O’Neill <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/faculty-issues/diversity-equity/2023/06/26/white-professor-resigns-alleges-reverse" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the organization is representing De Piero because of the widespread “institutional intolerance” at American universities. 
“The institutional intolerance that has become so prevalent in the academic space is extremely concerning to us and, you know, we want to champion someone like Zack, who has taken the brave and courageous step to stand up for his rights — and that translates to honoring the rights of his students to engage with … and receive the benefits from a full academic experience,” she said.

In a statement to InsideHigherEd, the university said it “has repeatedly affirmed its active and ongoing commitment to diversity and equity, and made clear its goal to create an inclusive and respectful environment in which to live, work and study.”
De Piero, now a professor at Northampton Community College, said he was hit with a bullying complaint after critiquing one of the racialized presentations. 
“Not only was Penn State deliberately indifferent to the racially hostile environment for De Piero, Penn State actively treated De Piero as the problem, suggesting mental health treatment and disciplining him for bullying when he dared to complain,” the lawsuit read. “As a result, De Piero’s only option to escape the hostile environment was to leave Penn State.”

Target gave money to the NDN Collective in 2022, a South Dakota-based nonprofit that has <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/target-backs-org-pushing-us-demilitarization-mt-rushmore-shutdown-being-symbol-white-supremacy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> that closing Mount Rushmore, and returning the land and all public lands in the Black Hills of South Dakota is “our cornerstone battle,” Fox News reported.
“Not only does Mount Rushmore sit in the heart of the sacred Black Hills, but it is an international symbol of White Supremacy and colonization,” NDN stated. “To truly dismantle white supremacy and systems of oppression, we have to go back to the roots. Which, for us, is putting Indigenous Lands back in Indigenous hands.”
“Mount Rushmore is an international symbol of white supremacy, and as people across America rightfully pull down statues of white supremacy, we have to look long and hard at how this national monument in the Black Hills upholds and maintains white supremacy on Indigenous lands,” NDN Collective President and CEO Nick Tilsen stated in a <a href="https://ndncollective.org/ndn-collective-landback-campaign-launching-on-indigenous-peoples-day-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press release</a>.
“Our LANDBACK efforts started at Mount Rushmore as we not only took a stand against white supremacy and Trump&#8217;s racist rhetoric that day, but also in demanding that Mount Rushmore be shut down as a national monument and that all public lands in the Black Hills be returned to Indigenous people,” he continued.
NDN Collective’s “Landback” campaign has declared, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,” a mantra that terrorist organizations that hate Israel use to describe the elimination of the Jews in Israel.
“The U.S. military is in the explicit business of taking land away from communities all around the world and using their presence on their land to carry out their own agenda for the inhabitants of that area,” NDN Collective has stated. “Violence is fundamental for the U.S. to maintain its presence, and the military is how they establish dominance domestically and internationally, wherever they may be.”
“The origin of the U.S. military and police is rooted in the establishment of informal militias composed of newly arrived settlers looking to make money and own land,” NDN continued. “The purpose of these informal militias however was not to keep the police or protect citizens, but to clear the land of as many Natives as possible by killing indiscriminately, and catching runaway enslaved Africans.”

Biden gave the commencement address for the historically black college and university (HBCU) at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. In the <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2023/05/13/remarks-by-president-biden-at-the-howard-university-class-of-2023-commencement-address/">speech</a>, the president took a pessimistic view of America’s fight against racism, claiming that it is “a battle that’s never really over.”
Then, Biden told graduates to be on guard for what he views as the greatest threat to our nation.
&#8220;The most dangerous terrorist threat to our homeland is white supremacy,” Biden told the crowd who responded with applause. “And I&#8217;m not saying this because I&#8217;m at a Black HBCU. I say it wherever I go.”

The Democrat president also took a veiled shot at his opponent, former President Donald Trump.
“Let&#8217;s be clear: There are those who don’t see you and don’t want this future,” Biden said. “There are those who demonize and pit people against one another. And there are those who do anything and everything, no matter how desperate or immoral, to hold onto power. And that’s never going to be an easy battle.”
The president attempted to encourage the graduates by telling them that they represent the future of America, a future that showcases the “strength of our diversity at the center of American life.” Some Howard students in the crowd, however, still protested the Biden administration’s apparent failure to stand up for African Americans, according to <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/13/biden-howard-university-white-supremacy-terrorism-00096811">POLITICO</a>.
“A Black child was lynched yesterday!” one sign read, referring to the death of Jordan Neely on a New York City subway earlier this month.
