Maryland Democratic Governor Wes Moore, a rising star in the Democratic Party, said on Sunday he is a &#8220;loyalty person&#8221; who felt compelled to privately inform President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> that other people wanted him to drop out of the 2024 race.
Martha Raddatz, co-anchor of ABC&#8217;s &#8220;This Week,&#8221; pressed Moore on whether he began to lose faith in Biden over the past few weeks since a poor debate performance led fellow Democrats to increasingly urge the president to bow out while citing concerns about his age, mental health, and electability.
&#8220;You had been a very strong supporter of Joe Biden staying in the race just a few days after that disastrous debate, saying he is not going to take himself out of the race, nor should he. Did your concerns grow as the weeks went on?&#8221; Raddatz asked.
&#8220;I had private conversations with the president. And I&#8217;m a big believer that when you care about somebody you tell them the truth. And I had private conversations where I was telling the president the truth,&#8221; Moore replied.
&#8220;I also know that the president deserved better than people who were running around him and going into public and demanding that the president of the United States step down, particularly when you look at the track record of the Biden-Harris administration,&#8221; Moore said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve had a phenomenal partner in the Biden-Harris administration to be able to deliver the kind of results that we needed in Maryland. And so I knew that if he said that he was going to continue pushing forward, that I was going to stand with him.&#8221;
Raddatz brought the conversation back to Moore&#8217;s point about honesty.
&#8220;But you said you told him the truth. What was the truth?&#8221; she asked.
&#8220;Well, I think the truth that there are real concerns. There are real concerns that I know that people had felt, but also that people were telling me that they had felt,&#8221; Moore said.
&#8220;I also know that, you know — I&#8217;m a loyalty person,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And I believe that you can have proper conversations and tell people the truth, you know, and be able to tell them what you’re hearing without also then turning around and publicly then trying to embarrass them.&#8221;

Amid calls for him to step down as the Democratic presidential nominee after his disastrous performance in the debate against former President Donald Trump a week ago, President Joe Biden has reportedly been asking allies what he can do to shore up support for him to continue with his re-election bid.
According to <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/elections/pressure-on-biden-builds-as-democrats-fear-big-november-losses-a87849f3?mod=hp_lead_pos1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Wall Street Journal</a>, in the two days prior to Independence Day, Biden has contacted numerous allies in Congress to persuade them that he should withdraw from the nomination. Additionally, on Wednesday evening Biden met with roughly two dozen Democratic governors. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said, “We were honest about the feedback that we were getting. We were honest about the concerns that we’re hearing,” adding, “We said we would stand with him.”
On Wednesday, Biden reportedly told his campaign staff, “Let me say this as clearly as I possibly can—and as simply and straightforward as I can. I am running. I’m the nominee of the Democratic Party. No one’s pushing me out. I’m not leaving.”
Yet numerous polls show Trump’s lead over Biden soared to six percentage points in the wake of their debate.
Delaware Democrat Sen. Chris Coons said that when he spoke to Biden on Tuesday, Biden asked him, “How do you rebuild confidence?” Coons said he advised Biden to conduct an unscripted event such as a town hall “where the average American can just see his engagement and agility and capacity.”
“The campaign has come off as extremely arrogant in the way it has responded to legitimate questions about President Biden’s capacity as a candidate. Calling us bed-wetters or Davos Democrats is out of bounds,” Rep. Scott Peters (D-CA) asserted, adding, “This campaign damn well better tell us how they expect to win it—if they don’t tell me that this week, call me back next week.”
A few Democrat House members have called for Biden to step down, including Rep. Lloyd Doggett of Texas and Rep. Raúl Grijalva of Arizona.
Former Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), irritated that Biden supporters decided to “dig in and ask everybody to pretend like we didn’t see what we saw,” is pushing the idea of Biden stepping down so he can be replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris. He says, “We have a great candidate. She’s done a phenomenal job. I think she’d be attractive to a lot of working-class people in the middle-class Midwest once they get to know her.”

&#8220;My message to Joe Manchin is, I thank him for his service. I think he&#8217;s had a year — a career of distinguished service, both as a governor,&#8221; Moore said during an interview on <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/week-transcript-11-12-23-white-house-national/story?id=104823808" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC&#8217;s &#8220;This Week.&#8221;</a>

After co-anchor Jonathan Karl noted Manchin had 42 years of public service under his belt, Moore continued, &#8220;That&#8217;s right, both as a governor, senator. I would urge him not to mar his legacy by getting involved in something so foolish.&#8221;
When Karl pressed Moore to explain his stance, Moore added, &#8220;Because, if you look at what No Labels is, No Labels literally has no plan, has no path, has no policy platform. They don&#8217;t even have a candidate.&#8221;

Other candidates, beyond the GOP primary, are campaigning for a shot at the presidency. Among them are Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and left-wing activist Cornel West, who are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rfk-jr-gets-22-in-3-way-matchup-against-biden-and-trump-poll" target="_blank" rel="noopener">running as independents</a>, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
Karl asked Moore whether third-party candidates might siphon enough support to guarantee victory for former President Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner.
&#8220;No. Because I think what President Biden is going to continue to show is that results do matter. You know, it&#8217;s one thing to say we&#8217;re going to rail against the system, and it&#8217;s another thing to actually work to make systems better. And that&#8217;s what I think President Biden has continued to show,&#8221; Moore said.
He added later, &#8220;I think all the other things will just sound like noise, while President Biden&#8217;s results will sound like actually what they are, real, productive momentum for the people of this country.&#8221;

Maryland Governor Wes Moore was speaking figuratively Sunday when he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll_ZTlStavA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> bans on certain kids&#8217; library books tantamount to “castrating children,” but the Democrat just last month signed a bill that potentially allows the literal castration of kids.
Moore appeared on MSNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Inside with Jen Psaki,&#8221; when the host and former Biden administration spokeswoman claimed that many parents and conservatives are trying to ban books about African American history from school libraries. Psaki was apparently referring to criticism of books pushing Critical Race Theory, which teaches that whites are oppressors and blacks, perpetual victims.
“I continue hearing people making the argument that we’re doing it because we want to prevent our students from having discomfort or guilt,” Moore said, adding that he believes conservatives actually want to prevent black children from understanding their own history.
“It’s not about making kids feel uncomfortable,” Moore said. “It’s about telling [African American] kids that they shouldn’t understand their own power. It’s castrating them. &#8230; Because if you know your history, you know your power.”
Examples abound of public schools around the country foisting Critical Race Theory on their students. In Philadelphia, an elementary school <a href="https://broadandliberty.com/2021/03/02/todd-shepherd-philadelphia-school-district-stands-by-black-communist-lesson-for-5th-graders/">forced</a> fifth-graders to celebrate “Black communism,&#8221; an elementary school in Cupertino, California, <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/01/15/elementary-school-teacher-tells-students-to-select-their-oppressive-identities/">forced</a> third-graders to deconstruct their racial identities, then rank themselves according to their “power and privilege,” and Buffalo Public Schools <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/02/24/buffalo-students-told-all-white-people-play-a-part-in-systemic-racism/">taught</a> students that “all white people” are guilty of systemic racism and made kindergarteners watch a video of dead black children while warning them about “racist police and state-sanctioned violence.”
Moore is not the only Democrat to fight to keep books about Critical Race Theory in schools. But his choice of word &#8220;castrating&#8221; was ironic, given that as a candidate for governor he <a href="https://wesmoore.com/issues/lgbtq/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">supported the passage</a> of the Trans Health Equity Act, which promoted “gender-affirming” health care — potentially including chemical and surgical castration.
&#8220;&#8216;Gender-affirming treatment’ may include treatment described in the current clinical standards of care for gender-affirming treatment published by the world Professional Association for Transgender Health,” <a href="https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/2023RS/Chapters_noln/CH_252_sb0460t.pdf">read</a> the bill he <a href="https://governor.maryland.gov/news/press/pages/Governor-Moore-Signs-Historic-Reproductive-Freedom-Legislation,-Protects-Women’s-Reproductive-Rights-In-Maryland.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> into law in May.
In September 2022, World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) <a href="https://fox17.com/news/nation-world/transgender-health-org-removes-age-limit-for-gender-affirming-treatment-surgery" target="_blank" rel="noopener">chose to remove</a> age requirements for gender-affirming treatment and surgery, which can include chemical and surgical castration. A draft version of WPATH&#8217;s guidelines recommended some sexual reassignment surgeries could start at age 15 or 17.
