Chris Martin’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow was hired by the tech company Astronomer as a “very temporary” spokesperson in the wake of a huge PR incident for the company.
The A-list actress appeared in a short video loosely alluding to the viral moment but mostly just promoting the company as the world continues to obsess over the moment their former CEO, Andy Byron, was caught in an embrace with a woman who was not his wife during a Coldplay concert.
The video was shared to the company’s social media accounts and was captioned, “Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.”

“Hi, I’m Gwyneth Paltrow,” the “Avengers: Endgame” alum began as she smiled for the camera. “I’ve been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer.”
After her introduction, Paltrow explained that she would be answering the most common questions the company has received over the last two weeks, starting with, “OMG! What the actual f***?”
“Yes, Astronomer is the best place to run Apache Airflow, unifying the experience of running data, ML and AI pipelines at scale,” Paltrow said.
&#8220;We&#8217;ve been thrilled that so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation,&#8221; she went on. “As for the other questions we’ve received …” she said, before the next question appeared on screen.
It said, “How is your social media team holding &#8230;”
“Yes, there is still room available at our Beyond Analytics event in September!” Paltrow said before the question finished, before further promoting the company. &#8220;We will now be returning to what we do best — delivering game-changing results for our customers. The video, posted on Friday evening, has over 30 million views on X as of Saturday.
Astronomer has become a household name ever since the viral video clip of Byron embracing a woman identified by many as Kristin Cabot, the Chief People Officer for the company. After being spotted on the kiss cam, the two quickly stepped away from each other and out of frame after realizing they were being broadcast to the entire stadium at the July 16 Coldplay show in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
In the aftermath, Byron resigned as CEO and Astronomer is attempting to pivot the moment into good publicity for themselves.
Commenters on social media noted the tactic of using Martin’s ex-wife to do damage control on the company’s image. Many even speculated on whether the whole kiss cam viral moment was a publicity stunt, based on the outcome.

&#8220;We&#8217;d like to say hello to some of you in the crowd,&#8221; Martin said from the stage of Saturday&#8217;s show in Madison, Wisconsin. Video footage of the event shows the crowd laughing and cheering at what the singer is implying. 
&#8220;How we&#8217;re going to do that is we&#8217;re going to use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen,&#8221; Martin added. &#8220;So please, if you haven&#8217;t done your makeup, do your makeup now.&#8221;

The tech company Astronomer announced on Friday that they were launching an investigation into the situation with their CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot after the two were spotted canoodling at a Coldplay concert.
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” the company said in a <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/astronomer_astronomer-is-committed-to-the-values-and-activity-7352044359338373121-Fwe5">statement</a> posted to LinkedIn.
“The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”
The statement also addressed rumors that another HR department employee was the woman captured on video standing beside the couple smiling widely.
“Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video,” the LinkedIn statement added. “Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”

The update comes days after a video of the two company execs went massively viral online, racking up more than 55 million views on the original TikTok and being shared across all social media platforms.

The video went viral on X, with more than 25 million views as of Tuesday morning. Most people in the comments, including Eagles fans, have condemned the behavior. 
“Coming from an Eagles fan, I’m sorry. We’re not all like this &amp; I’m disappointed no one around him stepped in to say anything,” one person replied.
“Lifelong Eagles fan here. And previous season ticket holder. I can tell you that MY husband would have stuck up for YOUR fiance! Yes, as an Eagles fan. Most of us aren’t that guy,” another said.
The man was quickly identified online, and social media users started reporting him to NFL officials and to his place of business, which was a management consulting firm called BCT Partners. The company has a stated aim &#8220;to provide insights about diverse people that lead to equity.”

The New Jersey-based company issued a <a href="https://x.com/bctpartners973?lang=en">statement</a> on the incident, writing that it had been “made aware” of the video and “had already begun a full investigation” into the employee’s conduct. 
“As an organization that has always stood for inclusivity, the behavior displayed was completely unacceptable and stands in direct opposition to our company values. … We sincerely apologize to everyone affected by this behavior and remain committed to fostering a culture of respect for all,” the statement said.
NFL reporter Derrick Gunn <a href="https://x.com/RealDGunn/status/1879003944867057816">shared</a> on X that the Eagles fan was banned from attending Eagles games for life due to his conduct. 
He wrote in a post on Monday night, “Here&#8217;s an update &#8230; Big Dom [DiSandro] has identified the guy and woman involved in this incident .. the guy will be banned from future Eagles games .. the eagles will be sending the woman packers gear as an apology .. Eagles once again showing what a class organization they are.”
The Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers 22-10 during Sunday’s showdown. They face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday for the NFC divisional round of the playoffs.

The handbag is designed like a luxury Hermès Birkin bag, a status symbol that retails for a minimum of $2,000 to over $2 million, depending on the materials and exclusivity. According to CNN, Most Birkins cost between $26,500 and $399,999.
The new Walmart version, which some shoppers call a “Wirkin,” costs around $78. A dupe is different from a knockoff because it isn’t a counterfeit item, but is instead designed in the same style as a more expensive item. In the case of the Walmart handbag, the shape and hardware are similar, but it doesn’t include Birkin’s signature logo.

“It’s real leather, and I paid $80 for it,” the content creator says in the <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@styledbykristi/video/7450220057646501166">video</a> as she unwraps the Kelly green bag. “She’s so pretty!”
“(For) $80, you can pretend that you got a Birkin,” she continued. “I mean, everyone will probably know it’s not because who the hell has the money to spend on the real Birkin? Not me.”
Former “Real Housewives of New York” star Bethenny Frankel added to the conversation, saying the controversy is “fascinating.”
“A person who couldn’t afford a Birkin could have gone to Chinatown or bought a bag on the gate, but then they would seem fraudulent,” Frankel <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@bethennyfrankel/video/7453467932346076458?lang=en">said in a TikTok</a> posted on December 28. “People would call them out.”
She continued, “Walmart has given them entry. It’s a similar shape. This one is more functional. And you are allowed to do this. You’re not fronting, and you’re not stunting.”
Frankel said the only people upset about the bag’s existence are those who obsess over appearances.
“The intellectual property issue is another story we’ll get into, but this is basically the mob storming the castle saying, ‘We’re here too, b****, deal with it. You guys flaunted it and made it seem like we never get to be part of this, and now we get to be part of this fair and square,’” she said. “And the people that are going to be pissed off about are a**holes because they are not interesting people and flexing a bag is the most interesting thing about them.”

Haliey Welch, the internet personality best known for going <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/viral-video">viral</a> on TikTok and being dubbed the “Hawk Tuah” girl, is publicly addressing the cryptocurrency debacle that occurred earlier this month.
The 22-year-old Tennessee native capitalized on her overnight success over the summer by launching a podcast and merchandise and appearing at various high-profile events. On December 4, Welch announced that her cryptocurrency, Hawk Tuah <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bitcoin">memecoin</a>, $HAWK, was live.
The memecoin immediately skyrocketed in value with a market cap of $490 million, but then the valuation dropped more than 90% to less than $100 million in minutes. Buyers were quick to blame Welch and others involved with the launch after they determined that most of the purchases came from a few wallets, leading them to accuse insiders of pre-launch access, then dumping the memecoin to artificially inflate its value, according to <a href="https://mashable.com/article/hawk-tuah-hailey-welch-mia-memecoin-lawsuit">Mashable</a>.
In the aftermath, on December 5, Welch and her crypto team partner overHere Ltd. held a public Spaces stream on X. Users used the opportunity to express their frustration, but before sharing any solid answers, Welch abruptly ended the stream.
&#8220;Hey guys, I hate to interrupt you, Nick, but hello there. Anywho, I&#8217;m gonna go to bed and I&#8217;ll see you guys tomorrow,” she said.
$HAWK memecoin investors filed a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuit</a> on Thursday, accusing the crypto creators of unlawfully promoting and selling cryptocurrency that was allegedly never properly registered, per <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14212325/hawk-tuah-hailey-welch-cryptocurrency-memecoin-lawsuit.html">The Daily Mail</a>.
Welch had not posted on social media since the failed cryptocurrency launch until Friday when she shared an update on X. 
“I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community,” Welch wrote. “I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter. “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">Wicked</a>” star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ariana-grande">Ariana Grande</a> admitted that she had no idea what the self-described “queer journalist” was talking about in the interview that went viral and caused a lot of confusion.
In the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/queer-media-journalist-adds-weirdness-to-wicked-press-tour-in-viral-video">original video</a>, “Out” reporter Tracy Gilchrist told Grande and co-star Cynthia Erivo that &#8220;people have been taking the lyrics of &#8216;Defying Gravity&#8217; and really holding space with that and feeling power in that,&#8221; prompting Erivo to become emotional and say, &#8220;I didn&#8217;t know that was happening. That’s really powerful,&#8221; as Grande gripped her hand and nodded along.
In the weeks since, the clip has circulated online and been mocked, as many viewers have questioned what Gilchrist was talking about when she used the words &#8220;holding space.&#8221; 
Grande said she didn’t understand the statement at all but just reacted strongly because the other two women were, according to <a href="https://variety.com/2024/film/news/ariana-grande-cynthia-erivo-explain-holding-space-interview-1236241743/">Variety</a>. 
“I didn’t know what any part of it meant,” the singer, who plays Glinda in the movie, said. “I didn’t understand the first sentence, and then I definitely didn’t understand how you responded. And I just wanted to be there. Because I knew something big was happening, and I didn’t know how to be there.”
“After a while, I didn’t know how to be there,” Erivo replied.

Grande said of the interviewer, “She’s also an amazing interviewer and a lovely person. That goes without saying.” 
She added, “I feel really relieved that the world had the same experience with this moment that I did, because I felt like, ‘Oh, I’m not broken.’” 
Grande also discussed grabbing Erivo’s hand, saying, “I’m going to grab this, because she looks like you might need something. I don’t know what the tapping was about.”

Gilchrist also discussed the viral interview with Variety previously, saying, “‘‘Holding space’ is being physically, emotionally and mentally present with someone or something.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump">Donald Trump</a>’s ex-lawyer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/michael-cohen">Michael Cohen</a> got ruthlessly trolled on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok">TikTok</a> during a livestream as he tried to speak seriously about the election results and viewers kept inserting the “turkey face” filter onto his head.
“Can we stop with that? All right? I don’t like the stupid turkeys,” Cohen said while covering the camera with his hand. “Let’s just knock that stupid sh** off please.”
“I did. I said I was leaving,” he continued, talking about his vow to leave the country if Trump won as one follower added the “laser eyes” filter. “And then the following day – get that through your dumb heads – the following day, I turned around and I said that there is no chance in the world that I’m leaving my country,” Cohen said as the turkey face filtered reappeared. “Thank you very much. All right? I’m not leaving anywhere. You leave. This is my country.”
The turkey briefly disappeared then came back as Cohen kept covering the screen and trying to deliver his message in a serious tone. “And I have every right, every single right, within which to turn around — would we stop, so we can – all right, two seconds or we’re gonna end up blocking this idiot,” he said as a giant pompadour hairstyle and and glasses filter appeared over his face.
Cohen made a disgusted sound and shook his head as a cowboy hat appeared next.
The video went viral on multiple social media platforms, with most viewers commenting on how hilarious they found the whole thing.

Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to multiple crimes, including lying to Congress, and served prison time. The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender">trans</a>-identifying <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok">TikTok</a> creator who spurred the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/viral-video">viral trend</a> of saying “very demure” is now upset that someone else trademarked the saying first.
Jools Lebron started posting clips featuring the “very demure, very mindful, very cutesy” narration that’s taken social media by storm. Big-name celebrities have gotten on board, and even the White House tested out the phrase.
“Cancelling [sic] the student debt of nearly 5 million Americans through various actions. Very mindful. Very demure,” an X post <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/very-demure-tiktoker-says-earnings-will-finance-transition-then-the-white-house-jumps-on-the-bandwagon">shared</a> on August 16 said alongside a smiling photo of President Joe Biden.
Lebron, a biological man, has since racked up more than 2 million followers and said any earnings would be used for his &#8220;transition&#8221; surgery.
“I was playing cashier and making videos on my break, and now I’m flying across the country to host events, and I’m going to be able to finance the rest of my transition,” Lebron said in response to detractors.
Now the TikTok influencer is upset that a man named Jefferson Bates filed an application in Washington to trademark the expression, “Very Demure .. Very Mindful …,” per <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/very-demure-tiktok-creator-jools-lebron-didnt-rademark-phrase-rcna168144">NBC News</a>.

Lebron posted about the situation in a now-deleted update shared on social media. “I wanted to do so much for my family and provide for my transition, and I just feel like I dropped the ball,” Lebron said over the weekend. 
This spurred another person, Raluca Pop, to file for a trademark to one of Lebron’s other phrases, “Very Demure Very Cutesy.” Pop did this with the intention of transferring it to Lebron at a later date.  
NBC noted that both Pop and Bates’ applications are still pending.
Pop reportedly saw Lebron as “the one that created it and popularized [the phrase]. Like, she should be the one to reap the benefits.” 
Pop added, “And once I saw that this other guy tried to steal it out from under her, I realized that he didn’t trademark the remainder of her phrase, ‘very cutesy.’ And that’s when I went and I did it, instead.”
On Tuesday Lebron posted on TikTok again about the situation, saying only that it was “handled” and that there was a “team” of people dealing with it.

Celebrities from Jennifer Lopez to Reese Witherspoon have used the phrase “very demure” to promote current projects. Lebron has also partnered with brands like Verizon and Lyft and appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last week.
The original clip was shared on TikTok in early August. It shows Lebron applying makeup while narrating the process.
