Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz made it absolutely clear on Thursday that the United States would not support the global carbon tax being pushed by the International Maritime Organization — and President Donald Trump voiced his agreement on the subject.
Waltz addressed the issue with &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; host Brian Kilmeade, and he said that the United States was also encouraging other nations to vote &#8220;no&#8221; on the new tax — and that there could be consequences for those that chose to vote in favor of the measure.

&#8220;This is a bigger deal than I think anybody realizes,&#8221; Waltz, a former Florida congressman and Green Beret veteran, told Kilmeade. He went on to say that others within the Trump administration — from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to Secretary of State Marco Rubio — were all in agreement that the new tax had to go.

Waltz went on to note that the move would also subsidize certain biofuels — and would greatly benefit China because in order to retrofit ships to use the new fuels, businesses would have to work with Chinese shipyards.
Trump also weighed in on the issue with a post to his Truth Social platform, saying, &#8220;I am outraged that the International Maritime Organization is voting in London this week to pass a global Carbon Tax. The United States will NOT stand for this Global Green New Scam Tax on Shipping, and will not adhere to it in any way, shape, or form. U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres has <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/02/nyregion/sdny-unrwa-lawsuit-dismissed.html">dismissed</a> a high-profile lawsuit accusing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) of enabling Hamas’s October 7, 2023, terror attack on Israel. Filed in New York by about 100 Israeli plaintiffs—including survivors, victims’ families, and a former hostage—the case sought more than $1 billion in damages, alleging UNRWA bolstered Hamas’s terror infrastructure through indirect funding and logistical support.
The central legal issue in the case was whether UNRWA, as part of the United Nations, could be held accountable in U.S. courts. Judge Torres, a 2013 Obama appointee, ruled that UNRWA was immune from litigation under international law, <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/us-judge-dismisses-1b-suit-against-unrwa-though-feds-had-said-it-doesnt-have-immunity/">stating</a>, “Because UNRWA is a subsidiary organ of the United Nations and has not waived its immunity, this court lacks subject matter jurisdiction over Plaintiffs’ claims.”
This ruling directly contradicted the position of the Trump-era Department of Justice, which in April 2025 had submitted a brief rejecting the notion of immunity for UNRWA. That brief asserted that UNRWA had played a “significant role in the heinous offenses” committed by Hamas on October 7, in which approximately 1,200 people were killed and 250 taken hostage. It further argued that neither UNRWA nor its Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini should be protected from suit in U.S. courts.
The Trump DOJ argued that international organizations like UNRWA are not automatically entitled to immunity, stating, “The Constitution does not grant immunity to foreign sovereigns or organizations. Instead, such immunity is a matter of grace and comity.”

The lawsuit stated that UNRWA was “knowingly providing Hamas with the U.S. dollars in cash that it needed to pay smugglers for weapons, explosives and other terror materiel.” It also stated that UNRWA allegedly aided Hamas by paying staff in U.S. dollars, knowing they would have to exchange them through Hamas-linked money changers, thereby generating a steady income stream for the terror group.
Adding to the controversy, revelations in 2024 <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-n-fires-multiple-unrwa-employees-after-discovering-evidence-of-alleged-involvement-in-october-7-attacks">confirmed</a> that nine UNRWA employees were fired after a U.N. internal investigation found they “may have been involved” in the October 7 attack.
Under Biden, the DOJ maintained that UNRWA remained shielded under international law and diplomatic immunity. The Trump DOJ challenged that tradition, seeking accountability for international actors accused of supporting terrorism.
Torres’ ruling undercuts a significant legal effort to hold international organizations accountable for allegedly enabling terror.

A Trump administration official was physically assaulted by a &#8220;deranged leftist&#8221; inside the United Nations Headquarters Thursday, just two days after President Donald Trump said he encountered &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-calls-for-investigation-into-triple-sabotage-of-his-united-nations-speech-a-real-disgrace">triple sabotage</a>&#8221; at the UN.
An official serving in a support role for Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was followed into a bathroom, recorded, physically assaulted, and verbally accosted, the White House <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-administration-official-physically-assaulted-unga-deranged-leftist-white-house-says">told</a> Fox News, which was first to report the incident.
&#8220;An HHS official was followed into a bathroom, recorded, physically assaulted and verbally accosted by a deranged leftist at the UN who somehow entered the venue past multiple layers of security,&#8221; White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly said.
&#8220;Thankfully, the official is safe, and the lunatic was arrested, but this is part of a disturbing and dangerous set of failures by the UN after their sabotage of President Trump ahead of and during his speech,&#8221; Kelly said.
The suspect was arrested and charged with assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a source at Fox. The suspect, though, has already been released from custody and is expected in court on November 13.
The U.S. Secret Service will also investigate &#8220;how this violent protester was admitted into a major national security event,&#8221; Kelly added.

The UN said in a statement that they are &#8220;outraged&#8221; by the incident.
&#8220;We are outraged that a member of the U.S. delegation was physically assaulted inside of UN Headquarters the afternoon of September 25,&#8221; a United States UN spokesperson told Fox. &#8220;This attack must be addressed swiftly, and consequences must be felt.&#8221;
The assault follows what Trump called &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-calls-for-investigation-into-triple-sabotage-of-his-united-nations-speech-a-real-disgrace">triple sabotage</a>&#8221; during his UN visit on Tuesday. Notably, as Trump made his way into the main auditorium for his speech, an escalator that he and the first lady had just stepped on immediately <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-calls-for-investigation-into-triple-sabotage-of-his-united-nations-speech-a-real-disgrace">stopped working</a>.
“It’s amazing that Melania and I didn’t fall forward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face first. It was only that we were each holding the handrail tightly or, it would have been a disaster,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

Additionally, the teleprompter stopped working for 15 minutes of Trump&#8217;s speech and his audio in the auditorium stayed off.

President Donald Trump is demanding the United Nations investigate the “triple sabotage” against him on Tuesday during his address to the body.
On Wednesday, Trump posted on <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115261466629181518">Truth Social</a> about three incidents on the day of his visit to the UN that need &#8220;immediate investigation.” The president said he is sending a copy of his complaints to UN Secretary-General António Guterres. He also called for all security tapes to be saved and stated that the “Secret Service is involved.”
Trump called the series of events “A REAL DISGRACE” and “very sinister.”
As the president was making his way to the main auditorium for his speech, an escalator that he and the first lady had just stepped on immediately stopped working.
“It’s amazing that Melania and I didn’t fall forward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face first. It was only that we were each holding the handrail tightly or, it would have been a disaster,” Trump wrote.
The president said the escalator stoppage was “absolutely sabotage” based off reporting from The Times of London ahead of his visit. According to <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/article/c8ce756d-fca7-4def-93d3-582b5cdb9889">The Times</a>, UN workers joked ahead of Trump’s visit that they would shut off escalators and elevators at the UN headquarters and tell the president that the international body had run out of money.
The president said those responsible for sabotaging the escalator should be arrested.
The next two incidents took place in the auditorium. As Trump prepared to give his remarks, the teleprompter failed to show his speech and remained black for the first 15 minutes, according to the president.
“The good news is the Speech has gotten fantastic reviews. Maybe they appreciated the fact that very few people could have done what I did,” the president wrote.
During his speech, the sound in the auditorium stayed off so that diplomats and officials in the room could not hear Trump unless they listened through earpieces to their interpreters.
“The first person I saw at the conclusion of the Speech was Melania, who was sitting right up front. I said, ‘How did I do?’ And she said, ‘I couldn’t hear a word you said,’” Trump wrote.
“This wasn’t a coincidence, this was triple sabotage at the UN,” the president said.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner&#8217;s daughter, Violet Affleck, addressed the United Nations on Tuesday to express her ongoing concerns over COVID-19.
The 19-year-old Yale freshman wore a KN95 mask as she fretted over what she described as the devastating and enduring effects of COVID-19, while complaining that the world had moved on.
&#8220;We are told by leaders across the board that we are the future,&#8221; Affleck said. &#8220;But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.&#8221; 
The teen was panicked over people who no longer take precautions against the spread of the virus, lamenting &#8220;the relentless beat of back to normal, ignoring, downplaying, and concealing both the prevalence of airborne transmission and the threat of long COVID.&#8221;
&#8220;Young people lacked both real choice in the matter and information about what was being chosen for us,&#8221; Affleck said, per <a href="https://people.com/violet-affleck-ben-affleck-and-jennifer-garners-daughter-speaks-about-the-impacts-of-covid-in-united-nations-address-our-present-is-being-stolen-11816006">People</a>.
&#8220;Here&#8217;s what we know about SARS-CoV-2,&#8221; she went on. &#8220;It is airborne, floating and lingering in the air, one infection can result in disabling damage to almost every cell in the body from the brain and heart to the nerves and blood vessels.&#8221;
&#8220;Every subsequent infection increases the risk of long movement and places people who already have it in greater danger.&#8221;
Affleck also said she’s &#8220;terrified&#8221; for children who &#8220;will not know a world without debilitating pain and exhaustion, who cannot trust their bodies to play, explore, and imagine&#8221; after contracting the virus.
&#8220;I am furious on their behalf,&#8221; she said. &#8220;It is a neglect of the highest order to look children in the eyes and say, &#8216;We knew how to protect you and we didn&#8217;t do it. We have access to a technology to prevent airborne disease, something that millions of our ancestors and millions of people around the world today would kill for, and we refuse to use it.'&#8221;
&#8220;And I shudder to think of where we will be in another five years of unmitigated infection and reinfection,&#8221; Affleck said.
The daughter of two movie stars equated COVID-19 harm reduction methods to bans on smoking.
&#8220;Many of you fought the long and hard battle against indoor smoking. My only memory of that era, at almost 20 years old, is being confused as a child about the no smoking signs on planes. &#8216;Who would do that? That&#8217;s gross,'&#8221; she told the U.N.
&#8220;My hope for this event and my belief in this community pressed on the belief that we can and we must do that again,&#8221; Affleck added. &#8220;We can recognize filtered air as a human right, as intuitively as we do filtered water.&#8221;
&#8220;We can create clean air infrastructure that is so ubiquitous and so obviously necessary, so that tomorrow&#8217;s children don&#8217;t even know why we need it.&#8221;
The college freshman has spoken out about her concerns over COVID-19 before, addressing an L.A. County Board of Supervisors meeting to express her frustration with a mask ban.
Reactions on social media were mostly negative, with most commenters saying Affleck was overreacting.

“Let&#8217;s give a platform and seek life advice from famous actors and their children, living in a fantasy world, detached from everyday realities, crafting personas for a living rather than grounded wisdom. Topline: In a scathing speech Tuesday, President Trump slammed world leaders at the United Nations, warning that their countries are “going to hell.”
What he said: Donald Trump spoke for about an hour and unloaded on the UN, calling it incompetent, inefficient, weak, and warning that mass migration, climate alarmism, and political correctness were laying siege to the organization’s founding principles.
“What is the purpose of the United Nations? The UN has such tremendous potential,” <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1970495659938652526">said</a> Trump. “For the most part, at least for now, all they seem to do is write a strongly worded letter, and then never follow that letter up. It&#8217;s empty words — and empty words do not solve war. The only thing that solves war &#8230; is action.”
On immigration: Trump devoted much of his speech to immigration, warning Western allies that their insistence on allowing unfettered mass migration was destroying their countries from within. 
“When your prisons are filled with so-called asylum seekers who repaid kindness with crime, it&#8217;s time to end the failed experiment of open borders,” <a href="https://x.com/cspan/status/1970501963264483514">said</a> Trump.
On energy: Trump took aim at the UN’s decades-long push to embrace far-left green energy initiatives, which he said have been ineffective, thereby increasing our reliance on China and other bad actors. 
On a Palestinian state: The topic of a Palestinian state arguably received more attention than any other issue at this week’s gathering, as influential member states have joined the call for Palestinian statehood. But President Trump remained adamant that such a move would only reward Hamas terrorists and incentivize more October 7th-style attacks. 
“The rewards would be too great for Hamas terrorists for their atrocities; this would be a reward for these horrible atrocities, including October 7th, even while they refuse to release the hostages or accept the ceasefire,” the president said.
Trump turns hard against Putin: After his address, Trump had a separate meeting with Volodmyr Zelensky and emerged with a much more supportive stance on Ukraine than in the past. Trump initially vowed to end the war on day one of his presidency, and then in recent months said Ukraine would need to accept a deal that resulted in handing over territory to Putin.
But on Tuesday, he said the Ukrainians can retake 20% of their land currently held by Russia. Writing on Truth Social, the president said that after getting to know and fully understand the situation, “I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form. With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option.”
Step back: This could be a leverage play to try to bring Putin back to the negotiating table, but regardless, this shift was music to the ears of NATO and many UN allies.

Topline: Google admitted Tuesday to caving to censorship pressure from the Biden administration – and is committing to allowing all creators who it kicked off YouTube over so-called political speech “violations” the chance to return. 
Morning Wire spoke with House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who has played a meaningful role in driving forward investigations into the “censorship industrial complex” targeting conservatives.
Jordan on Google’s letter: “They (Google and YouTube), in fact, were censoring Americans. They had kicked some people off the YouTube platform altogether – you, your channel, you&#8217;re gone. They&#8217;ve agreed to reinstate those individuals, which I think is good. They&#8217;ve said they will not use the fact-checkers, like other platforms have done – which was a big problem because fact-checkers are typically really biased against conservatives. I thought it was, again, a win for the First Amendment, a win for free expression.”
What’s next? Jordan can’t rest easy on the victory. He is concerned that the next threat to free expression has already begun to creep across the Atlantic in the form of European speech codes. The Google letter specifically mentioned two European speech codes: the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act.
Jordan said: “They talked about the danger that now exists from Europe and what they&#8217;re doing and how that could, in fact, happen to Americans. And I think that&#8217;s a key point as well, because that&#8217;s something we (the Judiciary Committee) are now beginning to look at.”
Jordan mentioned the case of Irish comedian Graham Linehan, who was arrested in Britain over X posts mocking transgender ideology.
“I think it&#8217;s just a matter of time before that happens to an American,” said Jordan. “We&#8217;re particularly concerned about that relative to YouTube. There&#8217;s still this issue, I think, that we&#8217;re trying to make sure we understand fully: how people are monetizing their content or being demonetized.”

Kimmel’s short-lived suspension ended on Tuesday as ABC reinstated his show and he returned to the air. Kimmel was suspended for misleading comments on the assassination of Charlie Kirk, claiming that the conservative activist&#8217;s killer belonged to the &#8220;MAGA gang.&#8221; On his return, he played the martyr.
Kimmel: “The president of the United States made it very clear he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here fired from our jobs. Our leader celebrates Americans losing their livelihoods because he can&#8217;t take a joke. … We have to speak out against this. He&#8217;s not stopping, and it&#8217;s not just comedy. He&#8217;s gunning for our journalists.”
Step back: While his suspension was lifted by Disney, Kimmel didn’t have the reach he usually has. Some broadcast groups that own ABC affiliates refused to air “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/nexstar-to-preempt-abcs-jimmy-kimmel-live-despite-disney-ending-suspension">Nexstar</a>, which owns 32 ABC affiliates, said it stands by Disney’s original reasons for suspending the host and it will maintain that position until “all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue.”
Sinclair Broadcast Group, which operates <a href="https://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/2025/09/23/these-abc-stations-in-pennsylvania-wont-air-jimmy-kimmel-tonight-sinclair-stations-in-pa-kimmel-time/86306589007/#:~:text=Where%20does%20Sinclair%20own%20ABC,and%20Exchange%20Commission%20in%20August.">40</a> ABC affiliates, isn’t airing Kimmel, either. The broadcaster said earlier this week that it is in “discussions with ABC” as it evaluates the show’s “potential return.”

President Donald Trump on Tuesday called for the member states of the United Nations to embrace his policies of strict border controls and domestic energy production &#8220;to be great again.&#8221;
Drawing a contrast with the faulty equipment at the UN headquarters in New York City, Trump said that America had entered a new “Golden Age” under his leadership, pointing to his illegal immigration crackdown on the southern border and ramping up of energy production. He said that all countries should adopt similar policies to emulate the United States. 
“Immigration and the high cost of so-called green renewable energy is destroying a large part of the free world and a large part of our planet.  Countries that cherish freedom are fading fast because of their policies on these two subjects. You need strong borders and traditional energy sources if you are going to be great again,” Trump warned. 
Trump said that other nations should seek to protect free speech and religious liberty. 
“I hope that all countries who find inspiration in our example will join us in renewing our commitment, values, and those values, really, that we hold so dear together, let us defend free speech and free expression, let us protect religious liberty, including, for the most persecuted religion on the planet today. It&#8217;s called Christianity,” Trump said.

Criticizing the UN, Trump said that the international body never contacted him as his administration worked to resolve multiple conflicts across the world, including disputes between Cambodia and Thailand and Pakistan and India. Instead, Trump joked that the UN building’s escalator had stopped working as he entered and that the teleprompter malfunctioned at the start of his speech.

Trump also commented on ongoing efforts to bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war and get a ceasefire in Gaza. He called out European countries for continuing to purchase Russian oil, saying that they were “funding the war against themselves.” With regard to Gaza, he demanded that Hamas return all of the hostages that the terrorist group had taken.
Speaking to the assembly, he also called for each country to embrace what made it unique.
“Whether you have come from north or south, east, or west, near or far, every leader in this beautiful hall today represents a rich culture, a noble history, and a proud heritage that makes each nation majestic and unique, unlike anything else in human history or any other place on the face of the Earth,” he said.
After the speech, Trump wrote on Truth Social that it had been an &#8220;honor&#8221; to address the United Nations, also noting the equipment malfunctions.
“The teleprompter was broken and the escalator came to a sudden halt as we were riding up to the podium, but both of those events probably made the speech more interesting than it would have been otherwise. It is always an honor to speak at the United Nations, even if, their equipment is somewhat faulty,” he wrote.
Key Trump administration officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, UN Ambassador Mike Walz, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, were all in attendance.

The Secret Service said Tuesday that it had dismantled a network of electronic devices in New York that had been used to target senior federal government officials with telecommunications threats. 
The agency said that the network posed a threat to its “protective operations” and that it could have been used to disrupt Tuesday&#8217;s meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. Investigators discovered 300 co-located SIM servers and 100,000 SIM cards across multiple sites &#8220;capable of crippling telecom systems and carrying out anonymous telephonic attacks.&#8221; The network is tied to foreign actors and individuals known to law enforcement. The announcement comes just hours before President Donald Trump is set to address the UN.
“The potential for disruption to our country’s telecommunications posed by this network of devices cannot be overstated,” said U.S. Secret Service Director Sean Curran. “The U.S. Secret Service’s protective mission is all about prevention, and this investigation makes it clear to potential bad actors that imminent threats to our protectees will be immediately investigated, tracked down and dismantled.”

The devices were found in the New York Tri-State Area within 35 miles of the UN headquarters. CBS <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/u-s-secret-service-disrupts-telecom-network-threatened-new-york-city-u-n-general-assembly/">reported</a> that the devices were found in abandoned apartment buildings. 
Secret Service agent Matt McCool said that no arrests had been made and that the agency was still determining everyone who was behind the network. 
“We will continue working toward identifying those responsible and their intent, including whether their plan was to disrupt the U.N. General Assembly and communications of government and emergency personnel during the official visit of world leaders in and around New York City,” he said. 
McCool said the attacks happened in the spring but did not reveal which officials were targeted.
“These devices allowed anonymous encrypted communications between potential threat actors and criminal enterprises, enabling criminal organizations to operate undetected,” he said. “This network had the potential to disable cell phone towers and essentially shut down the cellular network in New York City.” 
Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation, including Homeland Security Investigations, the Justice Department, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the New York City Police Department.

What we’re tracking: Whether Trump will commit to more UN funding.
After taking office, Trump withdrew the United States from UN agencies like the Human Rights Council and World Health Organization, rescinded about a billion dollars in funding that Congress had already appropriated, and ordered a review of any future funds going to the UN, saying he wanted to ensure its mission “aligned with our national interests.”
As a result, the UN is facing a severe budget crunch — to save money, it has initiated plans to relocate its offices from New York and Geneva to lower-cost alternatives, such as Nairobi. It is also planning to cut thousands of jobs and consolidate several smaller agencies. 
Trump’s speech will reportedly touch on “his vision of how the United States is approaching the world” — the assembly is hoping that approach includes funding commitments for the UN.
The Waltz: Mike Waltz, a former Green Beret and Florida congressman, was confirmed by the Senate on Friday to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and hit the ground running.
The Push for “Palestine”: Trump’s speech will coincide with a separate conference on Palestinian statehood that’s being led by France and Saudi Arabia.
Canada, Britain, and Australia each offered recognition of a Palestinian state for the first time this weekend. They joined about 150 of 193 UN member states that have done so.
But while Trump has seemingly grown more frustrated with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he needs to “wrap up” the war in Gaza, he’s still expected to offer his support of Israel today. The State Department issued a statement calling the push for Palestinian Statehood a “publicity stunt” and “reward for terrorism”. 
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas will make the case for statehood to the UN General Assembly on Thursday. He’ll have to do it remotely after the Trump administration canceled his visa. 
Taking back Bagram: Last week, President Trump announced his intention to reclaim Bagram Air Base, which was abandoned and taken over by the Taliban following the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan under former President Joe Biden. 
When Trump was asked if he was willing to deploy American troops to retake the base, he refrained from giving a clear answer.
“We&#8217;re talking now to Afghanistan, and we want it back and we want it back soon, right away. Topline: President Trump and Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced significant findings on research concerning a spike in national autism rates. 
For weeks, there had been speculation about this, but Trump and Kennedy both linked one medication to a possible cause of autism and another to a possible treatment.
The cause: They said that the use of acetaminophen during pregnancy is tied to an increased risk of autism. Acetaminophen is the active ingredient in Tylenol and is one of the most widely used medications globally for pain relief and fever reduction. 
FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary: “We have an epidemic of autism that has increased 400% in the recent decades and we don&#8217;t have a known cause. Now this may be a cause, but when you have enough evidence to suggest an association and you have no other plausible cause, we have a duty to notify parents and doctors.”
The cure: The other major part of this announcement was that a drug called leucovorin, also known as folinic acid, can potentially help treat autism symptoms.
Makary: “We recognized that some kids with autism actually have an autoimmune disease. … And some doctors have actually started to test for this folate antibody, and they will then move on to treat some kids with this folinic acid or vitamin B12 that bypasses the receptor.”
Pharma’s view: Kirk Perry, the CEO of Kenvue, which makes Tylenol, reportedly had a “hastily scheduled meeting” with Secretary Kennedy last week over reports about this announcement. Perry argued in the private meeting that there is no causal link between Tylenol use during pregnancy and autism. He told Kennedy that Tylenol is a safe option for pregnant women, especially if they spike a fever, and added that other options actually do have links to birth defects. 
Since early September, the Kenvue stock has <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/us/trump-admin-report-linking-tylenol-to-autism-sends-kenvue-stock-sliding/articleshow/124049521.cms?utm_source=chatgpt.com&amp;from=mdr">dropped</a> around 15%.

Topline: President Trump signed an executive order that the White House says will curb abuse of the H-1B system that’s freezing Americans out of good jobs. The order has sparked confusion, leaving many wondering how it works and who it affects.
H-1B visas allow companies to hire foreign workers for specialized jobs when companies can’t find a skilled American to fill the position. Critics of the program argue that it has been abused to undercut American wages.
According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the order imposes a one-time $100,000 fee per employee on any company seeking a new H-1B visa. Leavitt said in an X post: “This is NOT an annual fee.” And it does not apply to any current H-1B holders who are outside the country or whose visas are currently up for renewal.
Divisive? Hardly: Some of the president’s supporters want the H-1B program massively reduced if not canceled entirely. But even among the president’s supporters in the tech sector, they’ll say that the system could use reform.
Back in December, Elon Musk, a strong supporter of the H-1B program, posted on <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1873191959441084531" target="_blank" rel="noopener">X</a> that it is “broken and needs major reform.” He said many complaints about abuse could be addressed by “raising the minimum salary significantly and adding a yearly cost for maintaining the H1B, making it materially more expensive to hire from overseas than domestically.”
Project Firewall: The Department of Labor <a href="https://x.com/USDOL/status/1969161021232148795">rolled out</a> Project Firewall on Friday.
“For too long, Washington politicians have stayed silent as employers abused H-1B visas under President Trump. This is coming to an end today. The Department of Labor is proud to launch Project Firewall,” the department said in a promo video released on X.
Project Firewall is intended to crack down on abuse in the H-1B program. <a href="https://www.dol.gov/newsroom/releases/osec/osec20250919">According to</a> the department, it “will conduct investigations of employers through Project Firewall to maximize H-1B program compliance.” Violations could result in back wages for workers, civil fines, or even disbarment from the H-1B program for a specified period. The goal here is to “safeguard the rights, wages, and job opportunities of highly skilled American workers by ensuring employers prioritize qualified Americans when hiring.”

The Senate confirmed Mike <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-heads-to-the-un-next-week-will-he-have-his-un-ambassador">Waltz</a> as United Nations ambassador Friday, just in time for President Donald Trump’s speech to the global body next week.
The former Republican congressman was confirmed in a 47-43 vote for the most prominent unfilled cabinet post in the Trump administration. His confirmation marks the end of a months-long holdup in the Trump administration campaign to secure a permanent UN ambassador.

Democrats delayed the nomination and were successful in getting Waltz and others’ nominations returned to committee. Waltz’s nomination passed out of committee — for the second time — on Wednesday morning.
Despite receiving a “no” vote from Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Waltz’s nomination was approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Paul maintained his position during Friday’s vote as the sole Republican to oppose Waltz’s confirmation, while Democratic Sens. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, Mark Kelly of Arizona, and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire were the only members of their party to vote “yes.”

Trump originally nominated Republican New York Rep. Elise Stefanik for the role before she quickly returned to her post in Congress to ensure the commander-in-chief maintained a solid Republican majority in the House.
In the interim, <a href="https://usun.usmission.gov/ambassador-dorothy-camille-shea/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dorothy Shea</a>, who was nominated by President Joe Biden and confirmed last summer, served as the acting ambassador.
Waltz was nominated in May after briefly serving as Trump’s national security advisor. Four months ago, Trump tapped him for the UN job.
The UN ambassador was previously the target of Democrats and critics in the media after The Atlantic’s Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/flurry-of-reports-claim-mike-waltz-out-as-national-security-adviser">revealed</a> that he’d been included in a Signal chat group with top administration officials — and had been privy to conversations about imminent strikes on Houthi terrorists.
Waltz admitted that Goldberg had been inadvertently added to the chat from his phone, while a full investigation revealed that Goldberg’s number had likely been added as a result of the iPhone’s “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/so-damn-dangerous-signal-chat-breach-linked-to-automated-suggestion-feature-on-iphone" target="_blank" rel="noopener">automated suggestion</a>” algorithm rather than any intentional move by Waltz or his staff. The United Nations Human Rights Council this week released a report <a href="https://www.ungeneva.org/en/news-media/news/2025/09/110618/gaza-top-independent-rights-probe-alleges-israel-committed-genocide?utm_source=chatgpt.com">accusing</a> Israel of committing “genocide” in Gaza. But the report — like the group behind it — is dripping with anti-Israel bias.
Issued by the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, the report was authored by three of the UN’s most rabid anti-Israel ideologues. Navi Pillay, Miloon Kothari, and Chris Sidoti all have long records of vilifying Israel, legitimizing Hamas talking points, and pushing the antisemitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement (BDS).
The report is the latest example of hypocrisy from the UNHRC, which has long been accused of coddling the world’s worst human rights abusers while obsessively targeting the only democracy in the Middle East.
Let’s break it down.
Navi Pillay, the chair of the commission, has accused Israel of “collective punishment” and “targeting children”— all while saying little or nothing of Hamas’ use of civilians as human shields or the mass slaughter of Israeli innocents on October 7, 2023. She also supervised the virulently anti-Israel Goldstone Report, which was later rejected by its primary author, Justice Richard Goldstone, who <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/reconsidering-the-goldstone-report-on-israel-and-war-crimes/2011/04/01/AFg111JC_story.html">explained</a> in the Washington Post, “If I had known then what I know now, the Goldstone Report would have been a different document.”
In 2010, her office <a href="https://unwatch.org/letter-to-un-high-commissioner-of-human-rights-navi-pillay/">refused to remove</a> a monstrous antisemitic message on its website that falsely accused Israeli doctors of a racist conspiracy to steal Palestinian organs.
Miloon Kothari, condemned for his antisemitic remarks about “Jewish control” of social media — Pillay <a href="https://www.jns.org/un-investigator-blasted-for-saying-social-media-controlled-largely-by-jewish-lobby/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">claimed</a> his comments were “misquoted” — continues to peddle anti-Israel tropes with the full backing of the UN bureaucracy.
Chris Sidoti, a left-wing activist lawyer, serves on the advisory board of the Australian Centre for International Justice, which <a href="https://ngo-monitor.org/reports/anti-israel-bias-and-ngo-links-of-unhrcs-gaza-committee-of-inquiry-members/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">calls</a> Israel a “settler-colonial apartheid regime” and supports the BDS movement, which seeks to economically and politically isolate Israel from existence.
These are the “independent investigators” tasked with assessing Israel’s conduct in Gaza.
The report’s conclusion that Israel is committing genocide was based not on legal rigor, but on a one-sided narrative that erases context, whitewashes Hamas terrorism, and accuses Israel of everything from starvation to sexual violence, even alleging that Israel is trying to “prevent births” among Palestinians.
Israel’s Ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Danny Meron, flatly rejected the report as a “Hamas propaganda document,” saying it cherry-picked data to promote a false narrative designed to demonize and delegitimize the Jewish state.
“The report falsely accuses Israel of genocidal intent, an allegation it cannot substantiate,” Meron said. “It serves Hamas and its backers.”
Notably, the commission makes only a passing reference to the October 7 massacre, when Hamas terrorists slaughtered more than 1,200 Israelis in one of the most horrific attacks in modern Jewish history. Instead, it blames Israel for virtually every aspect of the conflict, even accusing it of violating Qatari sovereignty when striking Hamas leadership in Doha — as if Hamas officials deserve diplomatic immunity.
The timing of the report is no accident. All three commissioners — Pillay, Kothari, and Sidoti — resigned in July, with their departures taking effect in October 2025. The rush to publish this political hit job now, just weeks before they leave, is transparently an effort to dodge accountability as American sanctions loom.
Even under pressure, the UNHRC gave this commission an open-ended mandate — unique among all UN investigations — to focus only on Israel, not on Hamas atrocities or Palestinian terror networks. As Trump’s administration put it in 2018: “The UNHRC is a protective body for countries committing horrific human rights violations.”
China, Cuba, Eritrea, and Qatar all sit on the Council. But it’s Israel — the country rescuing hostages, warning civilians before strikes, and defending its citizens from terrorists — that gets called genocidal?
President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the UNHRC in 2018 — and again in 2025 — is looking more prescient by the day. In February, he slammed the UN’s human rights bodies as being “contrary to the interests of the United States while attacking our allies and propagating antisemitism.”
He wasn’t wrong. As UNRWA employees were revealed to have aided Hamas in the October 7 attacks, and as hostages reported being held in UN facilities, the same UN was busy preparing to lecture Israel about morality.
This report is the latest proof that the UN’s moral compass is not just broken, but actively spinning toward terror-supporting regimes.
