President Donald Trump concluded his four-day Gulf tour on Friday after securing more than $2 trillion in investment agreements.
“In total, President Trump secured over $2 TRILLION in investment agreements with these three Middle Eastern nations — paving the way for a more safe and prosperous future,” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt <a href="https://x.com/PressSec/status/1923344314735718669" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced on X</a>.
After four days of traveling to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, where he was met with lavish ceremonies and generous hospitality, Trump is returning home to the United States, where he will meet his new grandson.
“Now it’s time to go back home,” Trump said in Abu Dhabi. “My daughter had a baby — I&#8217;m going to go back home and see that little baby.&#8221;

The investment will initially focus on deals that strengthen energy security, the defense industry, technology leadership, and access to global infrastructure and critical minerals. Deals include Saudi company DataVolt investing $20 billion in AI data centers and energy infrastructure, and Shamekh IV Solutions, LLC set to invest $5.8 billion, including in a Michigan high-capacity IV fluid facility.
Other multinational companies, including Google, Oracle, Salesforce, and Uber, have committed to investing $80 billion in “cutting-edge transformative technologies” in both the United States and Saudi Arabia.
“President Trump is the dealmaker in chief, and he has once again secured a historic deal that strengthens America’s economic dominance and global influence,” the White House said in a statement, adding that the investment will build “economic ties that will endure for generations to come.”

During a speech later that night, Trump urged Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords.

“It’s been an amazing thing, the Abraham Accords, and it’s my fervent hope, wish, and even my dream that Saudi Arabia — a place I have such respect for, especially over the last fairly short period of time, what you’ve been able to do — but will soon be joining the Abraham Accords,” Trump said.
During his first term, Trump brokered the Abraham Accords, a groundbreaking agreement between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, that ended decades of formal hostilities. Shortly afterward, Sudan and Morocco also joined the agreement.
Trump has long sought to expand the agreement to include Saudi Arabia, but the ongoing war in Israel has complicated those efforts.
Trump also announced he would lift sanctions on Syria, arguing that removing penalties imposed on the former dictatorship would give the new leadership a chance — despite its leader’s terrorist history.
Trump said removing the sanctions would give Syria “a chance at greatness.”

The next day, Trump met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, whom he described as a “young, attractive guy. Tough guy. Strong past. Very strong past. Fighter.”
The meeting between Trump and Sharaa was the first meeting between an American president and a Syrian leader in 25 years.

Trump thanked the Qataris for the warm greeting, saying that he appreciated the camels and hadn’t “seen camels like that in a long time.”

Before arriving in Qatar, Trump faced controversy over reports that he is preparing to accept a $400 million Boeing 747 jumbo jet from the Qatari government, intended as a replacement for the aging 40-year-old Air Force One. The plane is reportedly set to be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation shortly before he leaves office. However, during his visit to Qatar, the jet deal took a backseat as Trump announced more massive economic agreements.

Qatar signed an agreement with Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, alongside President Trump, to purchase 210 American-made Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X aircraft powered by GE Aerospace engines, according to the White House. The purchase is the largest 787 order in the American company’s history.
“It’s the largest order of jets in the history of Boeing, that’s pretty good,” Trump said.  “It’s over $200 billion… Congratulations to Boeing. Get those planes out there!”

Qatar also signed a letter of intent to purchase $2 billion worth of MQ-9B Reaper drones and $1 billion in counter-drone technology, becoming the first international customer for Raytheon’s Fixed Site–Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aerial System Integrated Defeat System (FS-LIDS), designed to neutralize small unmanned aircraft.
Letters of intent were also signed between Qatar and the United States to “further strengthen our security partnership,” the White House said in a <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/05/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-secures-historic-1-2-trillion-economic-commitment-in-qatar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>, outlining up to $38 billion in potential defense and security-related investments.
“The United States is in a very strong position militarily,” Trump said, sitting next to Al-Thani. “We have the best equipment anywhere in the world and you’re buying a lot of that equipment actually.”
According to Leavitt, the total agreements with Qatar will generate an economic exchange worth at least $1.2 trillion.
Trump’s warm reception in Qatar stands in contrast to the president’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/qatar-doesnt-give-things-away-for-free" target="_blank" rel="noopener">June 2017 statements</a> on the country, in which he had accused the nation of backing terrorism.

“The nation of Qatar, unfortunately, has historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level,” Trump said.
Qatar continues to fund terrorist groups, giving over $2 billion to the Hamas-run government in Gaza, according to the <a href="https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2023/12/19/10-things-to-know-about-hamas-and-qatar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Foundation for Defense of Democracies</a>. For several years, Hamas also hosted the leadership of Hamas, though many left Qatar last year.
Before leaving Qatar, Trump visited American troops at the Al Udeid Air Force Base in Qatar — the largest American military facility in the Middle East. Delivering a speech to the troops who he called “tip of the spear” in the fight against the “enemies of civilization” Trump spoke about his Middle East goals and promised to give them a raise.
“You are without a doubt the greatest fighting force in the history of the world,” Trump said. “That’s the way it is. I said it last night. I said it’s strong. We have the strongest military in the world. It’s not even a contest. We have the best equipment, nobody has equipment like us, nobody has the planes or the missiles or anything else.”
<h3>United Arab Emirates</h3>

All of the deals announced were on top of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-secures-1-4-trillion-uae-investment-deal-for-american-industries" target="_blank" rel="noopener">March $1.4 trillion commitment</a> from the UAE to invest in the sectors of American energy, manufacturing, and technology over the next decade.
During the visit, Trump also visited the interfaith Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi, which includes the St. Francis Church, the <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1923312209339318671" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue</a>, and the Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque.

The announcement comes on the last leg of Trump&#8217;s Gulf tour, which has led to massive investments and trade deals from both Saudi Arabia and Qatar as well.

President Donald Trump arrived in the United Arab Emirates with his third fighter jet escort on Thursday, kicking off the final leg of his high-stakes Middle East tour.
Upon touching down in the country&#8217;s capital, Abu Dhabi, Trump was greeted by UAE leader Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other dignitaries.
Trump is the second serving American president to visit the UAE, after former President George W. Bush in 2008.

So far on the visit, Trump met with Nahyan and toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. He is expected to announce economic trade deals with the oil-rich country.
In March, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-secures-1-4-trillion-uae-investment-deal-for-american-industries" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UAE committed</a> to investing $1.4 trillion in American energy, manufacturing, and technology over the next decade.
“This new framework will substantially increase the UAE’s existing investments in the U.S. economy in AI infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, and American manufacturing,” the White House said in a statement announcing the framework.
Trump had a strong relationship with the UAE in his first term, most evident in the success of the Abraham Accords, which normalized the Gulf country’s relations with Israel.

The Abraham Accords have proven economically beneficial for participating countries. Trade between Israel and the UAE reached $3.24 billion in 2024, a 10% increase from 2023, <a href="https://x.com/Peace_Accords/status/1896595363936526509" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to the Abraham Accords Peace Institute</a>.
Trade between Israel and Bahrain reached $108.5 million in 2024, an 843% increase from 2023. Meanwhile, trade between Israel and Morocco reached $109.9 million in 2024, a 40% increase from the previous year.

The deal is part of Saudi Arabia’s larger <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-secures-historic-investment-deal-from-saudi-arabia-on-first-day-of-middle-east-trip" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$600 billion investment</a> commitment for the United States, which was also announced on Tuesday.
According to the White House, the defense sales will fall into five categories: air force advancement and space capabilities; air and missile defense; maritime and coastal security; border security and land forces modernization; and information and communication systems upgrades.
The package will also include “extensive training and support to build the capacity of the Saudi armed forces, including enhancement of Saudi service academies and military medical services.”
“This deal represents a significant investment in Saudi Arabia’s defense and regional security, built on American systems and training,” The White House added.

The trip to the three energy-rich nations comes as Trump seeks to make deals with foreign nations and attempts to end both the war between Israel and Hamas and the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Trump&#8217;s trip got off to a controversial start following reports that the president is preparing to accept a $400 million Boeing 747 jumbo jet from Qatar, which would be available for Trump to use in lieu of Air Force One. Shortly before he leaves office, the plane would then be transferred to the Trump presidential library foundation.
The gift has caused an uproar with critics who say it’s a signal that Qatar — a massive funder and enabler of terrorist groups — is trying to gain influence in the Trump administration.
Trump defended the gift as an affordable way to replace the 40-year-old Air Force One.

President Donald Trump plans to announce that the United States government will begin referring to the “Persian Gulf” as the “Arabian Gulf,” according to <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-persian-gulf-saudi-arabia-ce30874c27bc01426d93ad3c65a18844" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an Associated Press report</a> citing two unnamed United States officials.

The Persian Gulf, located north of the Arabian Sea, borders Gulf states such as Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Iraq also shares a short coastline of about 36 miles. Many Gulf States already refer to the area as the Gulf of Arabia and have pushed for other states to do so as well, in a bid to assert regional influence.
Iran has long opposed renaming the body of water, and its foreign minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, accused Trump&#8217;s supposed change of being “politically motivated.”

Iran, which was historically known as Persia, has the longest stretch of coastline along the Persian Gulf — a name that has been widely used since the 16th century.
“Politically motivated attempts to alter the historically established name of the Persian Gulf are indicative of hostile intent toward Iran and its people, and are firmly condemned,” Abbas Araghchi <a href="https://x.com/araghchi/status/1920037767888740443" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted to X</a>. “Such biased actions are an affront to all Iranians, regardless of their background or place of residence.”
Araghchi added that Iran has not opposed other bodies of water in the Middle East from being named after other countries.
“The use of these names does not imply ownership by any particular nation, but rather reflects a shared respect for the collective heritage of humanity,” he wrote.
Araghchi added that the change will “bring the wrath of all Iranians from all walks of life and political persuasion in Iran, the U.S. and across the world.”

President Donald Trump is set to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates next month in his second foreign trip of this term, the White House announced Tuesday. The trip is scheduled to take place from May 13 to May 16.
“The president looks to strengthen ties between the United States and these countries in which he will be visiting,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday during a press briefing. “He’ll be having many bilateral meetings and talks, and we look forward to the trip.”
Trump’s Middle East trip was supposed to be his first foreign visit of this term, but he will now attend Pope Francis’ funeral in Rome later this week.
The trips come as Trump seeks new deals with foreign countries amid his tariff pause and signals his growing relationship with the Gulf countries.
In March, Trump announced that Saudi Arabia committed to investing $1 trillion into the American economy.
“I made a deal with Saudi Arabia. &#8230; I said I&#8217;ll go if you pay $1 trillion to American companies, meaning the purchase over a four-year period of $1 trillion, and they&#8217;ve agreed to do that,” Trump said, <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/saudi-arabia-takes-risky-gamble-trumps-america-opinion-2047288" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Newsweek reported</a>.

Three men found guilty of murdering Chabad-Lubavitch emissary Rabbi Zvi Kogan last year were unanimously sentenced to death in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, state news agency <a href="https://www.wam.ae/a/bixy0yf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WAM reported</a>.
Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeals&#8217; State Security Chamber found the defendants guilty of premeditated murder with terrorist intention. A fourth defendant was sentenced to life in prison.
Olimpi Toirovich, Makhmudjon Abdurakhim, and Azizbek Kamlovich, who are citizens of Uzbekistan, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/three-uzbeks-arrested-in-uae-over-killing-of-chabad-rabbi-zvi-kogan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were arrested</a> for the act last year. It is not clear if all three of them were sentenced to death, or if one was the individual sentenced to life in prison.
Firing squad is the sole method of execution in the UAE.
Investigations by the state security prosecution revealed the convicts tracked Kogan before murdering him. Evidence during the trial included detailed confessions, forensic and autopsy reports, post-mortem examination findings, tools used in the crime, and witness testimonies, WAM reported.
Attorney General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi reportedly said the ruling “embodies the UAE&#8217;s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in accordance with the highest standards of justice and the rule of law, and to providing fair trial guarantees.”
Capital punishment sentences are reportedly automatically subject to appeal under UAE law and are referred to the Criminal Division of the Federal Supreme Court.
Kogan, 28, a Moldovan and Israeli citizen, was last seen alive in Dubai before his body was discovered in Al Ain, a city near the Oman border approximately 90 minutes from Dubai.
Kogan worked as an emissary for the Jewish group Chabad, helping to support religious life for Jewish visitors and residents. He worked with the Chabad in Abu Dhabi and ran a kosher grocery store in Dubai.
The UAE has had a spike in Jewish and Israeli visitors since the establishment of formal ties with Israel under the Abraham Accords in 2020. The act of suspected terrorism may have been targeted at threatening the stability of the Abraham Accords.
The White House National Security Council under the Biden administration said at the time that the murder was a crime against supporters of peace.

President Donald Trump secured a $1.4 trillion commitment from the United Arab Emirates earlier this week to invest in American energy, manufacturing, and technology over the next decade.
“This new framework will substantially increase the UAE’s existing investments in the U.S. economy in AI infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, and American manufacturing,” the White House said in a Friday statement announcing the framework, per Bloomberg.
The investment framework resulted from Tuesday&#8217;s Oval Office meeting between Trump and the UAE’s national security adviser, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, combined with Vice President JD Vance and Cabinet members negotiating with a UAE delegation over dinner, a White House official with knowledge of the matter <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/after-trump-meeting-uae-commits-10-year-14-trillion-investment-framework-us-2025-03-21/">told</a> Reuters. The UAE delegation included leaders of several major national sovereign wealth funds and companies.
Bin Zayed <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-03-21/uae-to-pledge-1-4-trillion-us-investment-after-trump-meeting">said</a> the UAE is committed to “strengthening its economic ties with the U.S. by accelerating investments in artificial intelligence, advanced technology, infrastructure, energy, and healthcare.&#8221;
As part of the framework, according to Reuters, UAE investment fund ADQ and U.S. partner Energy Capital Partners announced a $25 billion initiative targeting American energy infrastructure and data centers, while XRG, the international investment arm of UAE state oil company ADNOC, committed to supporting U.S. natural gas production through an investment in the NextDecade liquefied natural gas export facility in Texas.
The companies involved in these negotiations reportedly have additional plans to make substantial investments in additional U.S. assets, such as gas, chemicals, and energy infrastructure, beyond what the framework already lays out.
Trump had previously highlighted the importance of foreign investment during his campaign, arguing that bringing significant capital back to American shores would help revitalize manufacturing and create new jobs in technology sectors.

The targeting of Rabbi Kogan was an attempt to destroy the sacred Jewish values that he represented: light, goodness and kindness,” he said. “No country, no community, no society can afford the loss of these sustaining values.”
Krinsky added that Kogan was “kidnapped and murdered in cold blood while serving the Jewish community in the UAE.”

“Beyoncé is a huge icon for many gay people,” LGB Alliance co-founder Bev Jackson <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/01/22/beyonce-falls-foul-lgbt-fans-exclusive-dubai-concert/">told</a> The Telegraph Sunday. “LGB Alliance is deeply therefore disappointed that Beyoncé has agreed to give a lucrative concert in Dubai, where same-sex sex acts are a criminal offense, potentially punishable by death.”
Many fans pointed out that Beyoncé had previously mentioned her uncle, &#8220;the most fabulous gay man” she knows, during her 2019 GLAAD Media Awards acceptance speech. 
“He was brave and unapologetic during a time when this country wasn&#8217;t as accepting,&#8221; the Grammy Award winner said, in part, during her speech.
“Witnessing his battle with HIV was one of the most painful experiences I&#8217;ve ever lived. I&#8217;m hopeful that his struggles serve to open pathways for other young people to live more freely. LGBTQI rights are human rights.”
