The mother of a man who was killed by an illegal alien praised the Trump administration for reopening a government office that supports families of Americans killed by illegals in a Department of Homeland Security first obtained by The Daily Wire.
Maureen Maloney&#8217;s son, Matthew Denice, was killed in 2011 by a drunk driving illegal alien who blew through a stop sign and dragged Denice for a quarter mile. In the video, Maloney remembers her son and praises President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kristi-noem-reopens-ice-office-to-support-families-whove-lost-loved-ones-to-illegal-alien-crime?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=25&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Kristi+Noem+Reopens+ICE+Office+To+Support+Families+Who%E2%80%99ve+Lost+Loved+Ones+To+Illegal+Alien+Crime">reopening</a> the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office, which offers resources and legal aid to families affected by illegal alien crime.
“I’m just thrilled that VOICE has been relaunched and that the people who need the services will be able to get them,” Maloney said. “I, over the years, have known many victim families that’ve utilized the resources of the VOICE office and have felt that it was very beneficial to them.”
Trump established the VOICE Office in 2017. In June 2021, President Joe Biden shuttered the office and replaced it with the Victims Engagement and Services Line, which also allowed illegal immigrants to report crimes to ICE. At the time, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas <a href="https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/ice-launches-victims-engagement-and-services-line-vesl">praised</a> the change, saying, &#8220;All people, regardless of their immigration status, should be able to access victim services without fear.&#8221;

Maloney says in the video that her son&#8217;s death was particularly tragic because it could have been prevented by stronger immigration enforcement.
“To find out that the person who took your child’s life was in the country illegally, and this could have been prevented, it makes you angry,” Maloney said while recounting the several run-ins with the law that the illegal alien had prior to taking the life of her son. “Matthew’s death was totally preventable.”
“He was an extrovert, everybody loved Matthew. He was voted the most dependable in high school,” Maloney said. “Matthew wanted to be a police officer, he wanted a large family.” Matthew’s stepfather, Mike Maloney, added that “he was a great human being. A great son, a great kid.”
“Far too many American lives have been lost because of illegal aliens driving drunk,&#8221; Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire. “These Americans killed by drunk-driving illegal aliens should still be with us today, and we feel their absence in our schools and offices, at our dinner tables, and throughout our communities.”
Alex Wise Jr., a 10-year-old boy, was struck and killed by an illegal alien in Texas earlier this year. The driver was <a href="https://www.ntd.com/10-year-old-texan-dead-after-hit-and-run-involving-repeat-illegal-immigrant_973876.html">captured</a> by police and charged with drunk driving. Two 19-year-olds, Anya Varfolomeev and Nicholay Osokin, were killed by another <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/23/us-news/illegal-immigrant-who-killed-young-couple-while-driving-drunk-could-be-set-free-after-serving-just-a-third-of-10-year-sentence/">drunk-driving illegal alien</a> in California in 2021. A mother and her 16-year-old son lost their lives when a drunk illegal alien who had been deported four different times <a href="https://thenationaldesk.com/news/americas-news-now/illegal-immigrant-deported-four-times-accused-of-killing-woman-son-in-colorado-dui-case-southern-border-biden-impeachment-jose-guadalupe-menjivar-alas-el-salvador-latin-america">caused a crash</a> in Colorado.
“President Trump and Secretary Noem have reopened the VOICE Office to serve all victims of illegal alien crime and their families,” McLaughlin noted.

The Trump administration is taking a major step to super-charge deportation efforts by deputizing law enforcement across the country to carry out immigration enforcement, a Department of Homeland Security memo exclusively reviewed by The Daily Wire reveals.
The memo lays out that DHS has signed 562 agreements with state and local law enforcement groups, taking advantage of a <a href="https://www.ice.gov/287g">federal law</a> that allows the agencies to enforce certain aspects of immigration law. While these sorts of agreements existed in the previous administration, the number of agreements signed since Trump took office is already a 316% increase from what was signed during four years of the Biden administration, the memo says.
The agreements could be one of the biggest keys to boosting deportation numbers, which members of the administration have <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/05/us/politics/trump-immigration-deportations-arrests.html">reportedly</a> grown frustrated with. With an estimated <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-alien-population-surges-to-record-high-bombshell-study-finds">18.6 million illegal aliens</a> currently present in the United States and a judiciary that has continuously stonewalled the Trump administration&#8217;s attempts to deport illegal aliens, the federal government may otherwise struggle to remove a significant share of the illegal population without support from law enforcement partners.
Under the agreement, state and local law enforcement agencies are able to conduct immigration enforcement operations with ICE oversight, use federal immigration databases to identify the status of arrestees, and initiate ICE detainers to hold illegal aliens until ICE can gain custody of them, providing what could be a massive force multiplier in the Trump administration’s effort to deport at least <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/2025/04/12/one-million-deportations-goal/">one million</a> illegal aliens per year.
The administration says its collaboration with state and local law enforcement is yielding results.
“Since January 20, our partnerships with state and local law enforcement have led to over 1,100 arrests of dangerous criminal illegal aliens,” the Homeland Security memo says. “ICE has also trained over 5,000 officers across the country to help track down and arrest criminal illegal aliens in their communities.”
One far-left organization <a href="https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/grants/past?filter_keyword=immigrant+legal+resource+center">backed</a> by George Soros&#8217;s Open Society Foundations <a href="https://www.ilrc.org/practitioners/national-map-287g-agreements">complained</a> that these agreements “are designed to extend the reach of the Trump deportation machine.” Now, they’re proving to be an effective force multiplier for the Trump administration as it seeks to enforce federal immigration law.
One of these agreements resulted in Operation Tidal Wave, a first-of-its-kind joint immigration enforcement effort from Homeland Security and Florida.

“In just six days, 1,120 criminal illegal aliens were arrested, including dozens of rapists, murderers, drug traffickers, and MS-13 members,” the DHS asserts in its memo. “This resounding success is a preview of what is to come: Effective and efficient coordination at all levels of law enforcement to remove illegal aliens.”
State and local law enforcement agencies that do not sign onto an agreement with DHS are much more limited in how they can support the federal agency in its immigration enforcement campaign. While the agencies can comply with ICE detainer requests so long as they are not in a sanctuary jurisdiction, agencies that haven&#8217;t signed an agreement don&#8217;t have access to the federal immigration database and are unable to initiate the ICE detainers.
“America is no longer a sanctuary for criminal aliens,” the memo says, before adding a message for illegal aliens. “We will find you. We will hunt you down. We will deport you. And you will never come back.”

President Donald Trump mounted an offensive against gender ideology as soon as he took office in January, and his administration shows no signs of letting up as it hits the 100-day mark.
Gender ideology became a hot-button issue in the years leading up to the November election. Parents across the country became outraged over transgender indoctrination by public school teachers, while female students protested being forced to let males use their bathrooms and play on their sports teams, and detransitioners raised the alarm about doctors pushing children toward puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and transgender surgeries.
During his campaign, Trump promised to take an axe to gender ideology, and he has followed through on multiple fronts.
In a day one executive <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/defending-women-from-gender-ideology-extremism-and-restoring-biological-truth-to-the-federal-government/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">order</a>, Trump officially recognized “sex” as biological, either “male” or “female.” This initial order, &#8220;Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism,&#8221; laid the groundwork for his administration&#8217;s other actions.
&#8220;Efforts to eradicate the biological reality of sex fundamentally attack women by depriving them of their dignity, safety, and well-being,&#8221; the order stated.
Child Sex Change Drugs And Surgeries
In January, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/daily-wire-celebrates-trumps-move-to-ban-child-transgender-medical-transitions">signed</a> another executive <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">order</a>, &#8220;Protecting Children From Chemical And Surgical Mutilation,&#8221; committing that the United States will not fund or support the “so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another and that it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.”
“This dangerous trend will be a stain on our Nation’s history, and it must end,” the order stated.
This prompted a slew of hospitals to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hospitals-across-u-s-stop-transitioning-children-after-trump-signs-order-protecting-kids" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pump</a> the brakes on transgender medicalization for children, including hospitals in New York City, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Colorado, and Virginia.
On Monday, the White House <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/04/report-to-the-president-on-protecting-children-from-surgical-and-chemical-mutilation-executive-summary/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published</a> a fact sheet that said during the first three years of the Biden administration, more than 7,000 children were put on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and more than 4,000 children got transgender surgeries like double mastectomies.
The Department of Health and Human Services and the Justice Department are leading the crackdown on transgender medical interventions for children.
The Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services also warned hospitals in March to comply with Trump’s executive orders on the “dangerous chemical and surgical mutilation of children,” or transgender surgeries and hormones.
The administration also <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2025/04/10/nx-s1-5355126/trump-nih-trans-regret-detransition-research" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ordered</a> the National Institutes of Health to research &#8220;regret&#8221; and &#8220;detransition&#8221; among children and adults who undergo transgender &#8220;social transition and/or chemical and surgical mutilation.&#8221;
Trump&#8217;s day one order also bans federal funds from promoting gender ideology, which includes paying for medical gender transitions for prison inmates, the subject of his most effective campaign ad last year.
The campaign ad highlighted Harris’s support for taxpayer-funded transgender medical services for prisoners.
“Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you,” the ad <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-exposed-kamalas-radical-stances-on-gender-americans-voted-against-it" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
The ad aired across the nation, including during football games. Trump advisors <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-exposed-kamalas-radical-stances-on-gender-americans-voted-against-it" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the message reached suburban women, who were also being hammered with Democrats’ aggressive abortion ads.
Education
In his second week, Trump turned his attention to education, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-signs-order-defunding-schools-teaching-gender-ideology-crt">signing</a> an executive order titled &#8220;Ending Radical Indoctrination In K-12 Schooling&#8221; prohibiting federal funds from going to schools teaching “radical, anti-American ideologies,” including gender ideology.
Gender ideology includes the “false claim that males can identify as and thus become women and vice versa,” his day one order previously clarified.
In response, the Education Department <a href="https://www.ed.gov/about/news/press-release/us-department-of-education-enforce-2020-title-ix-rule-protecting-women" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scrapped</a> former President Joe Biden’s reinterpretation of Title IX to include trans-identifying men as women, calling it an “unlawful abuse of regulatory power and an egregious slight to women and girls.” Title IX is the federal civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in public schools.
Trump&#8217;s order also prohibits teachers or school counselors from encouraging the &#8220;social transition&#8221; of a trans-identifying child, which includes using a new name and pronouns or allowing them to use the bathrooms and play on the sports team of the opposite sex.
The administration is investigating multiple school districts, including five in Virginia that may be violating Trump&#8217;s orders on promoting gender ideology.
The Education Department also <a href="https://www.ed.gov/about/news/press-release/us-department-of-education-ends-bidens-book-ban-hoax" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tossed</a> out a slew of complaints about “book bans,” or school districts removing sexually explicit materials.
The department has canceled <a href="https://www.ed.gov/about/news/press-release/us-department-of-education-cancels-divisive-and-wasteful-grants-under-comprehensive-centers-program" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hundreds</a> of <a href="https://www.ed.gov/about/news/press-release/us-department-of-education-cancels-additional-350-million-woke-spending" target="_blank" rel="noopener">millions</a> of dollars in grants to recipients who promote gender ideology, DEI, and Critical Race Theory.
Women&#8217;s Sports
Trump signed an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/keeping-men-out-of-womens-sports/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">order</a>, &#8220;Keeping Men Out Of Women&#8217;s Sports,&#8221; banning trans-identifying males in girls’ sports by threatening to rescind funds from schools that allow this, saying it “results in the endangerment, humiliation, and silencing of women and girls and deprives them of privacy.”
In response to Trump&#8217;s order, the NCAA <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ncaa-backs-down-changes-transgender-athlete-policy-after-trump-order" target="_blank" rel="noopener">changed</a> its policy to read that a “student-athlete assigned male at birth may not compete on a women’s team.”
The Education Department also <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/quick-takes/2025/02/07/ed-department-investigates-sjsu-upenn-over-trans-athletes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opened</a> investigations into several universities for allowing trans-identifying males in women’s sports, including San Jose State University and the University of Pennsylvania, where trans-identifying male swimmer Lia Thomas won races on the women&#8217;s team.
On Monday, the administration <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/28/us-news/trump-admin-finds-upenn-violated-title-ix-by-letting-trans-athletes-compete-in-womens-sports/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> it had found that the University of Pennsylvania violated Title IX and gave the school 10 days to resolve the sports violations or face enforcement from the Justice Department. In March, the administration froze $175 million in taxpayer funding to the school.
In February, Trump stunned a room full of governors when he told Maine’s governor to her face that her state would not get any federal funding if it continued to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boy-wins-girls-pole-vault-championship-in-maine-days-after-state-pledged-to-defy-trump-order">buck</a> the president’s executive order on males in women’s sports.

“Your population doesn’t want men playing in women’s sports. So you better comply because otherwise you’re not getting any federal funding,” Trump told Governor Janet Mills, a Democrat.
The administration ultimately moved to strip Maine of the $358.4 million it <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-04-23/trump-stops-maines-funding-over-transgender-athletes-could-california-follow" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gets</a> in federal education funding, although that action is blocked in federal court for now. The Agriculture Department also suspended some of Maine&#8217;s federal funds for school food programs. The Education Department has also referred Maine&#8217;s education department to the Justice Department for “further enforcement action.”
The Education Department is also eyeing California, which also allows trans-identifying males in girls&#8217; high school sports.
The department opened an investigation into the California Interscholastic Federation, which governs sports at more than 1,500 high schools. The administration has threatened California&#8217;s federal funding, but has not yet moved to cut it.
California also prohibits schools from automatically notifying parents when a student announces a new gender identity, another threat to its federal funding.
Other Moves
Trump <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/ending-radical-indoctrination-in-k-12-schooling/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">prohibited</a> public schools from allowing a trans-identifying child to use the bathroom or locker room of the opposite sex.
Trump&#8217;s day-one order also protects women and girls from trans-identifying men in women’s prisons, rape shelters, and other “intimate spaces.”
Trump also issued an order <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/prioritizing-military-excellence-and-readiness/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banning</a> trans-identifying members from the military.
“A man’s assertion that he is a woman, and his requirement that others honor this falsehood, is not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member,” the order read.
Federal employees were also instructed to remove pronouns from their email signatures, and, in a surprise move, Trump targeted the Kennedy Center over “Drag Shows specifically targeting our youth.” He <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113964959500715895" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fired</a> the center&#8217;s president and several board members, and the board voted to install Trump as president. He promised that “the best is yet to come” for the center.
Trump also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/eradicating-anti-christian-bias-trump-signs-executive-action-ending-targeting-of-christians" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an order aimed at eradicating the “anti-Christian weaponization of government,” which cites the Biden Department of Health and Human Services’ attempts to shut out Christians from the foster care system if they did not affirm gender ideology for children.
Also on his first day, Trump <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/initial-rescissions-of-harmful-executive-orders-and-actions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revoked</a> nearly 100 of Biden’s executive actions, including one preventing discrimination over “gender identity.”
His day one order also reverses a policy that allowed individuals to change the gender marker on their passports.
During his remarks to Congress, Trump highlighted some of the eye-popping waste the Department of Government Efficiency is targeting, including transgender <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/here-are-the-transgender-mice-experiments-trump-talked-about" target="_blank" rel="noopener">experiments</a> on mice.
Trump also <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/2025/03/womens-history-month-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recognized</a> Women’s History Month, saying, “No longer will our Government promote radical ideologies that replace women with men &#8230;”
Federal judges have blocked many of Trump&#8217;s actions, including the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fed-judge-puts-hold-on-trumps-ban-on-child-sex-change-procedures-calls-it-horribly-dangerous" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bans</a> on child sex change procedures and trans-identifying <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-asks-scotus-to-uphold-his-ban-on-transgender-troops-in-the-military" target="_blank" rel="noopener">troops</a>, but the administration plans to continue fighting those decisions in court.

“From Jan. 21 through Jan. 31, the number of U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions along the southwest border dropped 85% from the same period in 2024,” the White House <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/02/illegal-border-crossings-plummeted-in-january/">pointed out</a> in a press release, citing ABC News.

The decline proved to be even more precipitous by March, when Vice President JD Vance visited the southern border and boasted of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/vance-does-victory-lap-at-border-all-it-took-was-a-new-president?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=55&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Vance+Does+Victory+Lap+At+Border%3A+%E2%80%98All+It+Took+Was+A+New+President%E2%80%99">98 percent reduction</a> in border crossings.
The rapid drop in border crossings came after Trump announced and implemented sweeping changes to immigration policy. Upon taking office, Trump <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/01/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-declares-a-national-emergency-at-the-southern-border/">declared</a> a national emergency at the southern border, ordering the Secretary of Defense to deploy troops to the border and for border wall construction to resume.
By early March, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/01/us/politics/military-border-immigration.html">roughly 9,000</a> active-duty soldiers were at the southern border.
One of Trump&#8217;s most consequential policy changes was the <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/trump-administration-reinstating-remain-mexico-program-2025-01-21/">reinstatement</a> of the Remain in Mexico policy, which requires migrants to stay in Mexico while their asylum claims are processed.
It&#8217;s a departure from the Biden administration&#8217;s catch-and-release policy, which allowed asylum seekers to enter the United States and live and work in the country while their claims are processed. Some migrants freed into the country under Biden were given court dates in <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/05/11/migrants-admitted-to-us-given-2035-immigration-court-dates/">2035.</a>
Trump also immediately <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/realigning-the-united-states-refugee-admissions-program/">suspended</a> the Refugee Admissions Program and halted <a href="https://cis.org/Bensman/Government-Admission-Biden-Parole-Flights-Create-Security-Vulnerabilities-US-Airports">flights of migrants</a> from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, and Ecuador, which the Biden administration used to streamline more than 300,000 migrants into the interior of the United States.
In March, the Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-transforms-bidens-cbp-one-app-leave-now-and-self-deport">repurposed</a> an online application that the Biden administration used to bring hundreds of thousands of migrants into the interior of the country. Formerly called CBP One, the Biden administration used the app to let migrants remotely schedule asylum appointments. It has since been renamed CBP Home, and allows migrants to alert the government of their “intent to depart” the United States.
Trump’s Department of Homeland Security even launched an <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/03/15/dhs-launches-international-ad-campaign-warning-illegal-aliens-self-deport-and-stay">international advertising campaign</a> warning would-be illegal aliens not to attempt to enter the United States.
“If you are a criminal alien considering entering America illegally: Don’t even think about it. If you come here and break our laws, we will hunt you down. Criminals are not welcome in the United States,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says in the ads, which have been broadcast on television, radio, social media, and even through targeted text messages.
The effects of Trump’s immigration policies weren’t just seen at the southern border. They&#8217;ve even been noticed by Latin American countries like Colombia, which watched as caravans of migrants traveled through it on their way to the United States.

United States District Court Judge James Boasberg says that there is &#8220;probable cause&#8221; to hold the Trump administration in criminal contempt of court over its expedited removal of suspected criminal illegal alien gang members through the Alien Enemies Act.
The judge, who The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meet-the-obama-appointed-judge-trying-to-stop-trump-from-deporting-criminal-illegals">found</a> has a history of obstructing immigration enforcement operations, is giving the Justice Department time to respond <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/16/us/politics/trump-probable-cause-contempt-deportation-flights.html">before</a> taking any additional steps.
The Trump administration has been locked in a legal battle with Boasberg over the expedited deportation flights of illegal aliens who it believes are gang members. The federal judge placed a 14-day restraining order on the flights, but the Trump administration already had <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/03/16/trump-white-house-defy-judge-deport-venezuelans">flights in the air</a> at the time of the ruling, allowing it to successfully deport illegal aliens to El Salvador’s megaprison.
“The Court ultimately determines that the Government’s actions on that day demonstrate a willful disregard for its Order, sufficient for the Court to conclude that probable cause exists to find the Government in criminal contempt,” <a href="https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/25899106/boasberg-contempt.pdf">Boasberg wrote</a>. “The Court does not reach such conclusion lightly or hastily; indeed, it has given Defendants ample opportunity to rectify or explain their actions,” he went on to say before adding, “none of their responses has been satisfactory.”
A Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meet-the-obama-appointed-judge-trying-to-stop-trump-from-deporting-criminal-illegals">investigation</a> found that Boasberg’s wife is the founder of a DC-area abortion clinic and donated more than $11,000 to Democrats, including to Hillary Clinton as she faced off against Donald Trump in 2016. Boasberg spared an FBI agent who was tied to the Russiagate hoax from prison, instead sentencing him to probation and community service.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted Boasberg in the wake of The Daily Wire’s investigation.
“Judge Boasberg is a Democrat activist. He was appointed by Barack Obama, his wife has donated more than $10,000 to Democrats, and he has consistently shown his disdain for the president and his policies and it is unacceptable,” Leavitt said.
“These partisan judges are undermining the judicial branch,” she added, calling Boasberg “an activist judge who is trying to usurp the president’s authority.”

The federal judge who temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke the temporary legal status of half a million migrants volunteered for and donated to prominent Democrat politicians, including former President Barack Obama and Senator Elizabeth Warren.
United States District Judge Indira Talwani was the latest left-wing judge to stonewall Trump’s agenda after she stopped his administration from revoking the legal status of migrants from Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba who were allowed into the country by the Biden administration. The decision temporarily prevents Trump from issuing removal orders against the migrants.
An estimated 530,000 migrants from the four countries were paroled by the Biden administration and are currently allowed to live and work in the United States. The immigration parole program was responsible for the massive influx of Haitian migrants to Rustbelt towns like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/what-has-my-town-become-springfield-residents-say-its-falling-apart-amid-haitian-influx">Springfield, Ohio, </a>and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/its-not-just-springfield-this-small-town-in-pennsylvania-is-overrun-by-haitian-migrants-too">Charleroi, Pennsylvania</a>.
Talwani, who was <a href="https://www.mad.uscourts.gov/boston/talwani.htm">appointed</a> by former President Barack Obama, has a history of partisan political activity, both donating to and volunteering for Democratic politicians.
The federal judge <a href="https://www.fec.gov/data/receipts/individual-contributions/?contributor_name=Indira+Talwani">donated</a> a total of $1,725 to Democrat politicians and the Democratic Party, including $1,000 to former Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), $350 to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and $100 to Obama. Talwani also gave another $275 to the Democratic National Committee.
Talwani explained on her Senate questionnaire that she also volunteered to knock on doors for Obama in 2008 and volunteered to canvass on behalf of Elizabeth Warren in 2012. She also volunteered for former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick during his 2006 campaign and for failed Senate candidate Martha Coakley in 2010.
The federal judge has a history of issuing rulings that impede Trump’s immigration enforcement agenda. Talwani <a href="https://universalhub.com/files/attachments/2025/ozturk-order.pdf">ruled</a> earlier this year that the administration’s Department of Homeland Security had to provide the court with advanced notice before it removed Turkish national Rumeysa Ozturk from the state. The administration revoked Ozturk’s visa due to her involvement in anti-Israel protests.
In one 2019 decision, Talwani <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2019/06/21/obama-judge-blocks-ice-from-courthouses/">ruled</a> that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are not allowed to arrest illegal aliens on courthouse grounds in the state of Massachusetts. Her ruling was a win for the plaintiffs, who argued that permitting ICE arrests on courthouse grounds would discourage criminal witnesses and victims from testifying in court.
But Talwani’s adherence to left-wing ideology could persist beyond the issue of immigration. The federal judge <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2023/06/17/7774148-gender-freespeech-obama-judge-lgbtq/">ruled</a> in favor of a school district that sent a middle school student home for wearing a t-shirt that read “there are only two genders.” Talwani decided that the district, which claimed that the shirt “invades the rights of others,” was within its rights to bar the shirt under its dress code and send the seventh grader home.
Talwani is far from the only left-wing judge who has stonewalled the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement agenda.

With a Social Security number, illegal aliens can work in the United States and receive a wide range of taxpayer-funded benefits. The Trump administration is trying to take away the incentive for illegal aliens to stay in the United States and swiftly remove them from the system, treating them the same as it would someone who had died.
The Trump administration is putting the Social Security numbers of more than 6,000 illegal aliens into the same database that dead people&#8217;s numbers go into, a novel maneuver that effectively strips the individuals of their numbers and makes them ineligible for benefits. Of those illegal aliens entered into the database for dead people, the White House said that nearly 1,000 were receiving Medicaid benefits, while others were given student loans or collecting unemployment insurance.
“President Trump promised mass deportations and by removing the monetary incentive for illegal aliens to come and stay, we will encourage them to self deport,” said White House spokeswoman Elizabeth Huston. “He is delivering on his promise he made to the American people.”
<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/04/10/self-deportation-immigrants-social-security-dead/">According</a> to the Washington Post, one anonymous White House official claimed that the Social Security numbers that were logged into the database had all been assigned to illegal aliens with criminal records or ties to terrorist activity. Another 92,000 illegal aliens with criminal convictions are expected to have their Social Security numbers entered into the database, the official went on to tell the outlet.
Some of those affected are aliens who received legitimate Social Security numbers under the Biden administration’s temporary work programs that have ended, meaning they have lost their legal status.
The move comes after Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting Social Security Commissioner Leland Dudek authorized Social Security to place illegal alien numbers into the death file for national security reasons.
The Social Security Administration has seemingly had a lot of trouble reclassifying recipients who are actually dead. Elon Musk&#8217;s DOGE found that Social Security payments were being sent to people who were 115 years old or older. Social security numbers belonging to people between the ages of one and five years old and to people not even born were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/people-who-havent-been-born-yet-collected-millions-in-federal-unemployment-doge">found</a> by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project to be receiving Social Security benefits.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem reopened an office created in the first Trump administration but shut down by the Biden administration that supports families impacted by illegal alien crime.
Called the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office, it offers resources and referrals to legal aid for families impacted by illegal alien crime and will establish a tip line for crime victims.
“We have enemies living among us because of what the Biden administration has done by opening our borders,” Noem <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/09/us-news/kristi-noem-relaunches-biden-axed-ice-office-dedicated-to-migrant-crime-helping-angel-families/">said</a> while announcing the recreation of the VOICE office at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters.
“They have allowed terrorists, people that are on the terrorist watch list, dangerous criminals, gang members, and criminals to enter our country and to perpetuate violence on American families, and that is going to stop now,” Noem charged as she spoke in front of angel moms like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/no-one-is-safe-mothers-of-illegal-alien-crime-victims-blast-kamala-border-policies">Alexis Nungaray</a>, whose 12-year-old daughter Jocelyn Nungaray was raped and killed by members of Tren de Aragua.
Also present was Maureen Maloney, who lost her 23-year-old son in 2011 after he was struck by an illegal alien who was driving without a license.
“The illegal alien ran through a stop sign in the residential area and collided with Matthew’s motorcycle. Matthew survived the collision and was getting up out of the street when the illegal alien fled, and when he did, he ran Matthew over,” Maloney said as she recounted her son’s tragic death. “Matthew became lodged in the truck wheel well. And he was dragged to his death while witnesses were pleading with the driver to stop and banging on his truck. The driver never stopped. Matthew became dislodged. The illegal alien backed up over him again and continued to flee.”
“We’ve heard far too many stories about American lives that were taken because of illegal aliens who should have never been here in the first place,” DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin charged.
The office was closed by the Biden administration in 2021, with then DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stating that “all people, regardless of their immigration status, should be able to access victim services without fear.”
Noem said that the Trump administration is “righting the ship” by reopening the office, adding that the president is “going to prioritize not only these families but all the families that will be impacted by illegal immigration and the tragedy of losing someone because of the consequences of it.”

The Trump administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will fine migrants nearly $1,000 every day they stay in the United States past the date of their deportation order.
The Trump DHS will enforce a 1996 law that allows it to impose a fine of $998 on migrants for every day they stay past the date of their removal order. The administration <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-plans-fine-migrants-998-100644909.html">says</a> it will enforce the penalties retroactively to cover up to five years, resulting in fines of more than $1 million against offenders.
The government could even seize the assets of migrants who refuse to leave the United States on their own accord despite having an order of removal.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin explained that migrants can inform the government of their intent to depart the country via the Customs and Border Patrol <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-transforms-bidens-cbp-one-app-leave-now-and-self-deport">Home app, </a>an overhauled version of the CBP One app that the Biden administration used to streamline the flow of migrants into the United States.
“If they don’t, they will face the consequences,” McLaughlin charged. “This includes a fine of $998 per day for every day that the illegal alien overstayed their final deportation order.”
The fines could affect roughly 1.4 million illegal aliens who currently have active removal orders. The administration is <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-plans-fine-migrants-998-100644909.html">reportedly</a> encouraging Customs and Border Protection to administer the financial penalties and the seizure of property, though the Department of Justice’s civil asset forfeitures division could also be employed.
Scott Shuchart, a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement policy official under the Biden administration, said that the fines can be challenged by migrants in court, but that the risk of fines will “project fear” among illegal aliens.
The measure from the Trump administration is the latest method that the Republican president is using to encourage the voluntary departure of illegal aliens from the United States. President Donald Trump and his administration have thrown out the playbook on immigration.
Between resurrecting an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/waltz-defends-use-of-alien-enemies-act-to-remove-tren-de-aragua-terrorists">18th-century law</a> to deport violent criminals and running nationwide <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/medialibrary/assets/video/58918">television commercials</a> encouraging illegal immigrants to leave the country, the White House is employing anything and everything they can to remove illegals from the country, and strengthen the southern border. But experts say the Trump administration has another arrow in their quiver — one that&#8217;s not new, but still incredibly effective.
E-Verify is a <a href="https://www.e-verify.gov/">free service</a> from the Department of Homeland Security that allows employers to check applicants&#8217; employment authorization status. Until now, proponents of E-Verify have encouraged employers to use the service to ensure they don&#8217;t hire illegals. But now, experts say mandating the service would spike the rate of self-deportations.
“There&#8217;s no question that a large part, and maybe most, of any reduction in the illegal population has to come through self deportation,” Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian told The Daily Wire. “A big share of any reduction in the illegal population will inevitably come — and has to come — through voluntary departure or semi-voluntary departure.”
A national E-Verify mandate, Krikorian says, is one of the ways that lawmakers could encourage illegal aliens to leave the United States.
“It would make it much more difficult to get work. It would mean that a significant number of people would…opt not to come here illegally or even decide to go home,” Krikorian said.
“What people don&#8217;t understand is that most illegal aliens work on the books, and E-Verify would make that much more difficult. You&#8217;d have to have much more sophisticated access to fake identities and fake stolen identities to be able to do that,” he added.
“There&#8217;s always churn in the illegal population, even under Biden illegal aliens were leaving. There&#8217;s always people coming and there&#8217;s always people going. The key is to increase the number of people going and decrease the number of people coming in,” he explained.
A recent study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform found that an estimated <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-alien-population-surges-to-record-high-bombshell-study-finds">18.6 million illegal aliens</a> are present in the United States, with the figure eclipsing the individual populations of 46 of 50 states. Such a high number of illegal aliens poses serious logistical challenges to immigration enforcement authorities.
Ira Mehlman, the Media Director of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), told The Daily Wire that economic incentives are what pull so many illegal aliens to the United States, and that a change in those incentives could prompt their departure.
“The vast majority of illegal aliens — especially the ones who arrived during the Biden administration — are economic migrants. Their strongest motivation for coming here was the ability to find a job and better wages,” Mehlman told The Daily Wire before honing in on the E-Verify program in particular.
“If employers were mandated to use E-Verify and the government demonstrated the resolve to hold employers accountable, that would go a long way toward drying up the supply of jobs for illegal aliens, thereby eliminating the biggest incentive to come or remain here illegally,” Mehlman added.
“Faced with the reality that they are unlikely to find a job and the president&#8217;s executive order barring illegal aliens from nonessential benefits and services, many would make the logical decision to return home,” he asserted. 
Several states have already implemented E-Verify mandates, giving lawmakers several examples to draw on for a federal requirement.
The <a href="https://www.azag.gov/civil-rights/legal-az-workers-act/employers">Legal Arizona Workers Act</a>, for example, requires all businesses to use the E-Verify program to check the status of all potential employees, and empowers county attorneys to bring civil suits against businesses that knowingly employ illegal aliens, potentially resulting in the suspension or revocation of their business licenses.
In Tennessee, companies with 35 or more employees are required to use E-Verify, and those with fewer employees must still verify the employment status of new hires either through E-Verify or by acquiring and retaining documents that show identity and work eligibility. Other Republican states, including Texas and Missouri, have implemented a limited form of E-Verify and require state agencies and certain government contractors to use the program.
Two Democrat-run states, California and Illinois, have taken the most radical actions against E-Verify, and bar city and county governments from mandating the use of the program.
Studies of E-Verify have found that the program is effective at curtailing illegal immigration and at protecting the economic interests of American workers who may otherwise be undercut by illegal labor.
“The results indicate that having an E-Verify law reduces the number of less-educated prime-age immigrants from Mexico and Central America — immigrants who are likely to be unauthorized — living in a state,” one study <a href="https://link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s40176-016-0053-3">explains</a>. “We find evidence that some new migrants are diverted to other states, but also suggestive evidence that some already-present migrants leave the country entirely.”
Another <a href="https://legacy.iza.org/en/papers/3172_11062014.pdf">study</a> found that E-Verify mandates improve the economic prospects of Americans who might otherwise be forced to compete with illegal aliens for employment.
“The mandates appear to lead to better labor market outcomes among workers likely to compete with unauthorized immigrants,” the abstract explains. “Employment rises among male Mexican immigrants who are naturalized citizens in states that adopt E-Verify mandates, and earnings rise among U.S.-born Hispanic men.”
Vice President JD Vance touted E-Verify during his time in the Senate, <a href="https://x.com/JDVance/status/1480542720611467264">writing</a> in 2022 that “E Verify might be the single most important immigration issue.” Vance also co-sponsored <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/senate-bill/4529/cosponsors">legislation</a> that would have mandated the use of E-Verify for employers across the country.
Border Czar, Tom Homan has also praised the program, <a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/immigration/524920-to-stop-illegal-immigration-crack-down-on-illegal-employment/">saying</a> it &#8220;would save tens of millions of dollars annually in enforcement operations by making it much more difficult to use fake identities.&#8221;
“What’s frustrating to me … is that we even have some Republicans in Congress who don’t want to see E-Verify enacted,” Homan <a href="https://cis.org/Immigration-Newsmaker/Video-Book-Talk-Former-ICE-Acting-Director-Tom-Homan">said</a> in 2020. “If they truly want to stop illegal employment they need a system of checks and balances, and E-Verify, with some moderate changes, could be effective.”
Proponents of a national E-Verify mandate would have to face off against ideological organizations and corporate interests that undercut American workers with illegal labor, Mehlman noted.
“The entire panoply of organizations that advocate for illegal aliens certainly oppose mandatory E-Verify. So, too, do many cheap labor business interests for whom illegal immigration has become a source of subsidized labor. They pay low wages and everyone else picks up the costs of having the illegal aliens and their families in the country.”

United States Circuit Judge Patricia Millett has <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/03/26/venezuela-deportation-case-temporary-block">maintained</a> the injunction against President Donald Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act, preventing the president from using the law to expedite the deportation of alleged criminal Venezuelan illegal aliens connected to Tren de Aragua, a foreign terror organization. The Trump administration is now <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/03/28/trump-supreme-court-venezuelans-deportation-gang/82504401007/">asking</a> the Supreme Court to decide on the case.
Federal Election Commission filings <a href="https://www.fec.gov/data/receipts/individual-contributions/?amp%3Bcontributor_employer=Akin+Gump&amp;contributor_name=Patricia+Millett&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2008&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2010&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2012">indicate</a> that Millett was a prolific donor to Democrats, including Obama, from 2008 to 2012. Millett gave more than $31,000 to Democrat politicians and the party itself, supporting Obama’s presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton’s run in 2008, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, the Democratic National Committee, and the Fairfax County Democratic Committee, among others.
Millett — who <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/judge-claims-nazis-got-better-treatment-than-venezuelans-deported-trump">charged</a> that “Nazis got better treatment&#8221; than deported illegal aliens — also volunteered for Obama’s 2008 campaign, noting in a Judiciary Committee <a href="https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Patricia-Millett-Senate-Questionnaire-Final.pdf">questionnaire</a> that she provided the campaign with “legal assistance to the Voter Protection Teams for Ohio and New Hampshire, including preparing for potential election challenges.”
Millett’s appointment was <a href="https://civilrightsdocs.info/pdf/policy/letters/Support_Patricia_Millett_letter_7_9_13.pdf">supported</a> by the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a left-wing organization that <a href="https://civilrights.org/value/immigrant-rights/">supports amnesty</a> for illegal aliens, <a href="https://civilrights.org/value/policing/">called</a> America’s public safety system, “at odds with our shared values of fairness, equity, and justice,” and <a href="https://civilrights.org/value/deia/">advocates</a> in favor of the diversity, equity, and inclusion movement.

U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg, an Obama appointee, has been assigned <a href="https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5214036-trump-officials-face-records-lawsuit-over-signal-chat/">the lawsuit</a>, which was filed by an organization that claims the Signal chat violated the Federal Records Act. The communications were released Monday by The Atlantic&#8217;s Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg after he had been inadvertently added to the chat.
