<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tim-tebow">Tim Tebow</a> and his wife, former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Tebow, definitely got everyone’s attention on Tuesday when the couple announced that they are expecting their first child.
In a joint post on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DE0HoN-phS0/">Instagram,</a> the couple posted a video of them holding hands before the former NFL QB showed off a series of ultrasound photos announcing they were going to be parents. At one point in the clip, the former beauty queen turned around and showed off her baby bump, with both of them grinning from ear to ear about their exciting news.
The post was captioned simply, “Baby Tebow,” with an announcement that their little one will be arriving this summer.
“Team Tebow is expanding! Tim Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh are expecting their first baby together, they share with PEOPLE exclusively while expressing their joy at becoming first-time parents ahead of their public announcement on Instagram,” a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DE0Ivj_ppbi/?img_index=1">second post</a> from the former beauty pageant winner read.

“I&#8217;m so grateful because I just couldn&#8217;t imagine a better life partner to do life with first and foremost,&#8221; she added. &#8220;To be able to raise a little tiny human being together. I&#8217;m so grateful that Tim is my husband&#8230; that we get to do parenting together.&#8221;
&#8220;I feel like every time I say, &#8216;Tim&#8217;s going to be a dad!&#8217; it feels so surreal,&#8221; the former Miss Universe continued.

Tebow, a college football analyst, told the magazine that when he learned they were going to be parents, it gave him a whole new perspective on life.
&#8220;It&#8217;s just amazing how it also reprioritizes and changes what you put an emphasis on and what you value most,&#8221; the former QB said.
&#8220;News like that just supersedes the level of importance and the level of joy that you have,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It&#8217;s just so cool.&#8221;
As an outspoken pro-life advocate, Tebow previously gained a lot of attention when he shared his mom’s story at the annual March For Life event in 2021. During his speech, he talked about his mom&#8217;s trust in God and how she gave birth to him after doctors warned her against doing so and said she should get an abortion, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tim-tebow-at-march-for-life-i-now-get-to-share-my-story-because-my-mom-gave-me-a-chance">reported</a>.

Former NFL QB Tim Tebow talked about his faith and admitted &#8220;when you do stand for something, you will get criticized&#8221; but admitted that &#8220;it&#8217;s worth it.&#8221;

At one point in the interview, Tebow shared his lesson of gratitude and said that he hopes others can do the same when faced with disappointment in their lives as he spoke about his 2-5 minute devotionals he&#8217;s made to help others.
&#8220;We know life can be hard for people and there can be disappointing moments, but even in the disappointment, we can still choose to trust God,&#8221; the former NFL player shared. &#8220;We can trust God with the pain, trust him in the disappointing moments.&#8221;
&#8220;One of the things my sister would always say to me is, God will never waste your pain when you give it to him … and one of the things I really love about these one-year devotionals is 31 of them are from other people, a few of them are from parents who lost loved ones, a few of them are kids that are dealing with life-threatening illnesses and one of them is from a survivor and how we can learn from all their different stories …&#8221; he added.
&#8220;Ultimately, we want to learn from God&#8217;s word and God&#8217;s promises,&#8221; Tebow continued. &#8220;We know that we have a purpose. We know we were created on purpose — when we know there&#8217;s good things for us to do, when we can impact people, when we can love, we can serve, we can give that we can focus our mind every day on a mission mindset, and that can change everything around us to happen.&#8221;

Tim Tebow shared his thoughts about living &#8220;a life that counts&#8221; as he talked about his new book &#8220;Mission Possible&#8221; and said there&#8217;s a &#8220;reason we all exist.&#8221;
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tim-tebow-at-march-for-life-i-now-get-to-share-my-story-because-my-mom-gave-me-a-chance">former NFL QB</a> said the one of the reasons he decided to write the book is to &#8220;encourage people&#8221; and that it&#8217;s specifically not titled &#8220;Mission Impossible&#8221; for a reason, reported <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/tim-tebow-mission-life-that-counts">Fox News</a> in a piece published Thursday.
&#8220;I believe that it is possible for every single one of us to have, to truly have, a life that counts,&#8221; Tebow explained. &#8220;God created each of us to have a unique, awesome purpose, and it&#8217;s why we&#8217;re here.&#8221;
&#8220;More than anything, I wanted this book to be encouraging to people, and for each of us to know that we have a mission — that there is purpose for your life, there is significance for your life, and it&#8217;s something you can accomplish,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It&#8217;s not something that&#8217;s impossible or a fairy tale — or something that&#8217;s only for a few. No, I believe that every single person on this earth has a purpose. There&#8217;s a reason we all exist. There are things we were meant to do.&#8221;

&#8220;So many times, the world is going to tell you to choose the things you want now — to go for the instant gratification,&#8221; Tebow continued. &#8220;And we don&#8217;t necessarily play the long game. But in the book, I share my thoughts about living for eternity, for things that are going to last forever. And so much of that is focused on people, and on how we treat others.&#8221;
The former pro baseball player said that he believes the most &#8220;full-filled&#8221; we will ever be in life is when we spend our time &#8220;focused on other people.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s about how we can love people, how we can make a difference for other people,&#8221; Tim shared. &#8220;I really believe in God&#8217;s economy, which is different than how we talk about our economy. In our economy, in order to have more, you take more. But in God&#8217;s economy — you give more.&#8221;
The former NFL star also said he wants people to &#8220;feel encouraged, to know how loved they are, to know how much their life really matters,&#8221; despite the things in life &#8220;that can get us down.&#8221;
&#8220;Especially for young people who get lonely or who may be feeling lonely today, I want them to know that you don&#8217;t have to spend your life comparing yourself to other people,&#8221; Tebow shared. &#8220;You don&#8217;t have to spend your life isolated, or feeling alone, or that nobody believes in you.&#8221;
&#8220;There is a God who believes in you,&#8221; he added. &#8220;You are loved so much — and I just want to encourage people that they were created to be who they are and that their life matters very, very much.&#8221;

The Tim Tebow experiment has come to a close. 
On Tuesday morning, ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported Tebow&#8217;s release from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tebow signed a one-year contract with the Jaguars in May to once again play under Urban Meyer — his college coach at the University of Florida. Before the signing, Tebow had been out of the NFL since 2012 and had been playing professional baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Mets. There was never a guarantee that Tebow would make the regular season roster, and his lack of experience at the position put him at a disadvantage. 
In the Jaguars&#8217; first preseason game, Tebow played 16 snaps at tight end.
“Thankful for the highs and even the lows, the opportunities, and the setbacks,” Tebow said on Twitter. “I’ve never wanted to make decisions out of fear of failure and I’m grateful for the chance to have pursued a dream… Thank you to the Jaguars organization and everyone who has supported me in this journey. Tebow’s signing was unsurprisingly met with anger from many within the sports community and from the Left. 
ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith called the signing “white privilege” and said that Tebow was granted opportunities that others might not get. 
“Is this not an example of white privilege?” Smith <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/culture/jay-maxson/2021/05/21/espns-stephen-smith-tebow-signing-just-more-white-privilege">said</a>.
“When George Floyd ultimately was murdered … it wasn’t just about him. It was about the symbolism of what transpired because black people have repeatedly felt I like we have the proverbial knee on your neck. We constantly have to scratch and claw our way,” he added.
“When we see someone of a different ilk, of a different ethnicity, getting opportunities we know we would never get, that’s where the words white privilege come from. … There’s no way to eradicate white privilege without white individuals giving up some of their privilege,” he said.
Shannon Sharpe — former NFL tight end and current Fox Sports personality — also weighed in. 
“Just think about how arrogant a person must be to play a professional sport in which you’re really not that good at, and all the other teams, the 30-plus other teams [say ‘Nah, bruh,] we saw what ya had. You’re not good.’ You say, ‘You know what? I might not be good enough to play this sport, but I’m great enough to go play another professional sport, even if I haven’t picked up a bat in 12 years’ … ‘I’m arrogant enough to just think, ‘I’m gonna go back to the sport that jettisoned me and I’m gonna switch positions. I haven’t played in the league in six years, haven’t taken an offensive snap in nine years, but I’m just that good.’ Tim Tebow cain’t play no tight end. And he’s gonna rub guys the wrong way,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/espns-stephen-a-smith-suggests-tim-tebow-getting-signed-about-white-privilege">said</a> Sharpe.
While members of the media as well as former and current players took issue with the Tebow signing, fans of the NFL clearly enjoyed seeing him back in the league. 
Just a day after the Jaguars announced the signing, the top five selling items at <a href="https://www.nflshop.com/newest-gear/c-1289127257+z-953171-1349820697?ab=%7Bwt-static_graphic%7D%7Bpt-HP%7D%7Bal-A%7D%7Bct-NewSeason%7D">NFLShop.com</a> were all Tebow’s No. 85 Jaguars jerseys.

This is more than likely the end of the road for Tebow’s football career. The switch from quarterback to tight end was a last-ditch effort by Tebow to once again play in the NFL, and the experiment failed. Tebow will have a multitude of options now that his football days are over. Before signing with the Jaguars, Tebow was a college football analyst for the SEC Network.

The former star QB will be attempting to play a new position — tight end — and beat out at least a few of the six other tight ends currently on the Jaguars roster. But his relationship with head coach Urban Meyer should help him in his quest to play in his first regular season game since 2012. 
Meyer was asked about Tebow’s chances of making the team on Thursday, and he gave the typical coach-speak. 
“I wouldn’t say weird. Awkward, maybe, the first practice, but it’s one of 90 trying to make the team,” Meyer said, according to <a href="https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/05/27/urban-meyer-tim-tebows-one-of-90-trying-to-make-team-hes-improved/">Pro Football Talk</a>. “He has improved, it’s all new for him. Tyler Bowen is doing a good job with our tight ends as a whole. O’Shaughnessy and Ellefson in particular, if you watch a video last year and watch practice now, it’s night and day. Those guys have really improved and the position is trending upward. They’re doing a nice job.”
There has been some speculation regarding how Tebow will be used in Meyer’s offense, with some believing there is a chance he could be used in the “wildcat” position. 
“They think that Urban Meyer purposely brought Tim Tebow in — one to set the culture, the competitiveness — we know that he’s a new NFL coach trying to set a tone for the culture,” ESPN’s Dianna Russini said on “<a href="https://twitter.com/GetUpESPN/status/1397935606735458305">Get Up</a>”. “But the bigger story I think — the most interesting part of this — is that there are those in the league who think Urban Meyer is bringing Tebow in to play quarterback. At that Taysom Hill role.”
Hill has been utilized in a hybrid role with the New Orleans Saints for the past several years — as a running back, wide receiver, and at quarterback when called upon. 
“Take a look at all his [Meyer’s] different offenses,” Russini continued. “It actually makes a lot of sense. So, yes. He may be on the roster as a tight end, but there may be more to this Tebow experiment than him just playing that position.” 
Meyer was asked how he planned on utilizing Tebow in the Jaguars offense on Thursday. 
“I think it’s one step at a time and see what happens,” Meyer said, according to the <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/05/28/tim-tebow-catches-two-td-passes-from-trevor-lawrence-at-otas/">NY Post</a>. “Before you start having those conversations, you’ve got to feel where he’s at on the depth chart, etc. Obviously, it’s only been a couple of days. We have not had that conversation as an offensive staff yet.”
Tebow’s signing has caused quite the stir throughout the NFL community, with many viewing it as simply a way to increase ticket sales. Tebow’s contract is for one year, $920,000, with no signing bonus or guaranteed money.

The announcement that Tim Tebow was signing a one-year contract to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars was met with elation from his fans, but anger from many — including current and former NFL players — who don’t think he should be in the league.
Tebow will have the opportunity to make the Jaguars roster at tight end under head coach Urban Meyer — Tebow&#8217;s college coach — after last playing in an NFL regular season game in 2012. The former quarterback turned his sights toward professional baseball the last four years, playing for the New York Mets organization. 
His signing set social media ablaze, and on Friday, Tebow became the first player to have a best selling <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tebows-no-85-jersey-becomes-the-top-selling-nfl-jersey-less-than-24-hours-after-signing-contract">jersey</a> in five different uniforms. While it has certainly reignited “Tebowmania,” it’s also drawn the ire of players and media members alike.

ESPN&#8217;s Stephen A. Smith <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/espns-stephen-a-smith-suggests-tim-tebow-getting-signed-about-white-privilege">implied</a> that Tebow’s signing was a product of “white privilege.” 
“When we see someone of a different ilk, of a different ethnicity, getting opportunities we know we would never get, that’s where the words white privilege come from. … There’s no way to eradicate white privilege without white individuals giving up some of their privilege,” Smith said.
While Tebow has taken a lot of grief for the opportunity, there is at least one NFL player that is willing to support him — seven-year NFL veteran and current free agent Trey Burton. 
“I don’t understand the outrage,” Burton told <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31504676/trey-burton-supports-tim-tebow-comeback-attempt-understand-outrage-jacksonville-jaguars-deal">ESPN</a>. “There are 90 [roster] spots. If they want to bring someone in, why not? A lot of teams take fliers on guys from various backgrounds every year.” 
Burton is quite familiar with Tebow’s situation, as he was recruited to the University of Florida by Meyer to play quarterback before switching to tight end in order to receive more playing time. He went undrafted, but signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and went on to throw a touchdown in the Super Bowl on the famous “<a href="https://youtu.be/YDG3_ewrOWg">Philly Special</a>” touchdown. 
He believes Tebow has what it takes to be a successful tight end in the NFL, but also knows that he faces a difficult road ahead.
&#8220;From an athletic and mental standpoint, there&#8217;s no doubt he&#8217;ll do a great job,&#8221; Burton said. &#8220;It&#8217;s the day-to-day physical part, the technique that&#8217;s the toughest thing.&#8221;
&#8220;As a quarterback, you&#8217;re in the pocket looking into coverage. At tight end, you know the coverages but you have to go full speed in a three-point stance and diagnose. You see the linebacker, the defensive end and the safety on your side of the field. &#8230; There&#8217;s a lot more to it than whether he can do it or not. It&#8217;s deeper than that.&#8221;
Tebow’s roster spot on the Jaguars isn’t guaranteed, and he’ll be competing with the six other tight ends currently on the Jacksonville roster. His familiarity with Meyer&#8217;s offense should help his transition from quarterback to tight end, but it’s yet to be seen if the soon-to-be 34-year-old has what it takes to play the position.
&#8220;I really hope he does well. I love what he&#8217;s about, how he plays the game,&#8221; Burton said. &#8220;There&#8217;s no doubt in the world, he&#8217;s the type of guy to try and defy the odds. You say he can&#8217;t do it, well, he&#8217;s going to give it all that he has.&#8221;

‘I Don’t Understand The Outrage’: NFL Tight End Defends Tim Tebow’s Comeback

The controversy and outrage over Tim Tebow signing a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars while Colin Kaepernick remains a free agent continued this week when ESPN&#8217;s Stephen A. Smith said the Christian athlete&#8217;s resurgence is a product of &#8220;white privilege.&#8221;
During a segment on &#8220;First Take,&#8221; Smith debated with Max Kellerman about the return of Tim Tebow, and if it was warranted. According to Smith, Tebow gets an easy ride while black people claw their way to the top.
“Is this not an example of white privilege?” Smith <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/culture/jay-maxson/2021/05/21/espns-stephen-smith-tebow-signing-just-more-white-privilege">said</a>.
“When George Floyd ultimately was murdered … it wasn’t just about him. It was about the symbolism of what transpired because black people have repeatedly felt I like we have the proverbial knee on tour neck. We constantly have to scratch and claw our way,&#8221; he added.
Smith then referred to Tebow as someone of a &#8220;different ilk&#8221; and a benefactor of great privilege.
“When we see someone of a different ilk, of a different ethnicity, getting opportunities we know we would never get, that’s where the words white privilege come from. … There’s no way to eradicate white privilege without white individuals giving up some of their privilege,&#8221; he said.
Though Smith referred to Tebow as a &#8220;good dude&#8221; who deserves a good life, he still lamented that &#8220;blacks do not get these opportunities.&#8221;
Over at Fox Sports, Shannon Sharpe of &#8220;The Undisputed&#8221; called Tebow &#8220;arrogant&#8221; for resurrecting his football career.
“Just think about how arrogant a person must be to play a professional sport in which you’re really not that good at, and all the other teams, the 30-plus other teams [say ‘Nah, bruh,] we saw what ya had. You’re not good.’ You say, ‘You know what? I might not be good enough to play this sport, but I’m great enough to go play another professional sport, even if I haven’t picked up a bat in 12 years’ … ‘I’m arrogant enough to just think, ‘I’m gonna go back to the sport that jettisoned me and I’m gonna switch positions. I haven’t played in the league in six years, haven’t taken an offensive snap in nine years, but I’m just that good.’ Tim Tebow cain’t play no tight end. And he’s gonna rub guys the wrong way,&#8221; said Sharpe.
While progressives may be feeling tremendous hate for Tim Tebow, his fans are certainly excited about his return to football. As <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tebows-no-85-jersey-becomes-the-top-selling-nfl-jersey-less-than-24-hours-after-signing-contract">The Daily Wire reported</a>, his jersey has become a best-seller.
&#8220;After the Jacksonville Jaguars announced the signing of former quarterback Tim Tebow to a one-year deal on Thursday, the top five selling items at NFLShop.com were all Tebow’s No. 85 Jaguars jerseys on Friday,&#8221; said the report. &#8220;According to Action Network, Tebow is the only player to have had a best selling jersey — for at least one day — in five different uniforms. That’s right. The quarterback turned tight end, who last appeared in an NFL regular season game in 2012, has the most popular jersey in the NFL one day after entering into an NFL contract.&#8221;

The reaction from many on the Left to Tim Tebow’s reported contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars was exactly as you&#8217;d expect. 
Ian Rapaport of NFL Network reported Monday that Tebow will be signing a one-year deal with the Jaguars later this week or next, and will be reunited with his college coach Urban Meyer. 
While many are excited to see the return of &#8220;Tebow Time&#8221; to the NFL — he hasn’t played in a regular season game since 2012 — it was clear that some NFL players were not thrilled, and multiple stars publicly implying race may have played a factor in the signing. 
Dez Bryant, who was out of the league in 2018 and 2019 before signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2020, voiced his concerns over the signing on Twitter on Monday. It doesn’t take much to read between the lines on where Bryant is going with this.

Bryant, after receiving backlash on Twitter for his original tweet, elaborated on his stance, tying in Colin Kaepernick. For those who need a refresher, the widely accepted narrative on the Left and in sports media, is that Kaepernick has been denied a spot in the NFL since 2016 due to his social justice activism, most notably his insistence on kneeling during the National Anthem. 
“Regarding my last post… I knew it would cause controversy and that was just to get your attention….. this is not a slight at Tebow. I’m happy for Tebow and want to see everyone succeed… I am saying to wake up and see what goes on and take care of yours… Pay ATTENTION to what goes around US and look deeper in between the lines… This is why I preach unity in black society and taking care of US ..lifting each other up&#8230;It’s more than getting together and running routes and casually linking up its about truly connecting to build and create. Controlling what we can control and building our community…” 
Bryant appears to imply in his message that white players are given special opportunities due to their connections and — among other things — their skin color.
Bryant — a former all-pro receiver — is the biggest athlete to speak out on the signing, but he certainly hasn&#8217;t been the only one. 
Steelers Linebacker Devin Bush was incredulous that Tebow was signed before Kaepernick, saying he was now looking forward to playing the Jaguars.

Adwale Ogunleye, an 11-year NFL veteran <a href="https://twitter.com/aotheprince93/status/1392120833930366981?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">said</a> the signing &#8220;is an insult.&#8221;

Howard Bryant, a senior writer for ESPN, said Tebow&#8217;s signing was the result of white privilege, claiming &#8220;he has not earned the right to be signed to an NFL roster.&#8221;

As Tim Tebow awaits a possible one-year contract to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars, progressives on Twitter have excoriated the NFL for leaving former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick out in the cold.

Back in 2016, Kaepernick launched a protest movement when he said that America has been allowing cops to “murder” black people and demanded that police officers undergo further training.
“People of color have been targeted by police,” Kaepernick <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/colin-kaepernicks-practice-socks-pig-cops-hat-james-barrett">said</a>. “So that’s a large part of it, and they’re government officials. They are put in place by the government. So that’s something that this country has to change. There’s things we can do to hold them more accountable. Make those standards higher. You have people that practice law and are lawyers and go to school for eight years, but you can become a cop in six months and don’t have to have the same amount of training as a cosmetologist.”
Following the violent protests and riots in response to George Floyd’s death at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, Colin Kaepernick seemed to oppose civil protests, arguing that civility “leads to death.”

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, former Heisman trophy winner and first-round draft pick Tim Tebow worked out with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a tight end.

In a February podcast with ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Tebow was asked if he would be involved with Jacksonville’s new regime. 
&#8220;I’ll be honest, we’ve always talked pretty regularly, even when he’s been far off in Ohio,&#8221; <a href="http://www.espn.com/espnradio/podcast/archive/_/id/18339885">Tebow told Schefter.</a> &#8220;He’s on the board of my foundation. He’s heavily involved. He’s helping us raise money this fall to rescue girls out of trafficking. We talk quite often. I’m excited about this opportunity for him, for his family, his daughters, his son Nate, Miss Shelley. I think they’re really excited as a family.
&#8220;I don’t think they’re going to be living too far from me. I know they’ll have good neighbors, and I just wonder if he’s not going to cut his yard or not. … There’s no chance. You know that he is not cutting his yard.&#8221;
In recent years, Tebow tried his hand at baseball, spending time in the Mets organization and as an Eastern League All-Star while playing for Double-A Binghamton in 2018. Tebow announced his retirement from baseball this past February. 
“I loved every minute of the journey, but at this time I feel called in other directions,&#8221; Tebow said in a statement. &#8220;I never want to be partially in on anything. I always want to be 100 percent in on whatever I choose. Thank you again for everyone’s support of this awesome journey in baseball, I’ll always cherish my time as a Met.”

Baseball was never the only thing on Tebow’s mind as he continued his work for ESPN and the SEC Network as a college football analyst. 
Tebow’s return to football would be a return to “Tebowmania,” driven by his wildly enthusiastic fanbase. 
Tebow was a first round draft pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft, and went on to lead the Broncos to a playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011. When Tebow entered the league, running quarterbacks were not rated as highly as they are today, and his lack of accuracy was a huge point of contention throughout the league. He was traded to the New York Jets in 2012 where he primarily played in the ‘wildcat” formation. He was out of the league after the 2012 season. 
Tebow’s presence in Jacksonville would certainly boost ticket sales and bring attention to Meyer’s first year as an NFL head coach. Whether he’ll be able to contribute — or if he&#8217;ll even be signed to the roster — remains to be seen.

Tebow Time? Former QB Works Out With NFL Team, Eyes Return As Tight End

Tim Tebow is retiring from professional baseball after playing more than four years in the New York Mets system.
The Mets and Tebow, a former NFL quarterback, <a href="https://newyorkmets.medium.com/tim-tebow-announces-retirement-596f67295278">announced</a> his retirement from baseball on Wednesday. Tebow said in a statement that he felt “called in other directions,” but he declined to specify what he may be picking up or investing more of his time in post-pro baseball.
“I want to thank the Mets, [Mets team President Sandy Alderson], the fans and all my teammates for the chance to be a part of such a great organization,” Tebow said. “I loved every minute of the journey, but at this time I feel called in other directions. I never want to be partially in on anything. I always want to be 100 percent in on whatever I choose. Thank you again for everyone’s support of this awesome journey in baseball, I’ll always cherish my time as a Met. #LGM”
Alderson also put out a statement, praising Tebow’s work and saying that the 33-year-old now-retired athlete should “be very proud of his accomplishments.”
“It has been a pleasure to have Tim in our organization as he’s been a consummate professional during his four years with the Mets,” Mets team President Sandy Alderson said in a statement. “By reaching the Triple-A level in 2019, he far exceeded expectations when he first entered the system in 2016 and he should be very proud of his accomplishments.”
Tebow played three seasons of professional baseball starting in 2016. That year was the first time Tebow had played in organized baseball since his junior year of high school. Tebow and the rest of the minor league lost the 2020 season due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Mets summed up Tebow’s baseball career in a blog post:
<blockquote>Tebow, 33, signed with the Mets on September 8, 2016 and participated in the Mets’ instructional league in Port St. Lucie that fall. He hit a home run in his first at-bat in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals on September 28, 2016. In his first professional season, he split the year between Columbia (A) and St. Lucie (A). He homered in his first professional at-bat while playing for the Columbia Fireflies.
In 2018, Tebow again went deep in his first at-bat of the season, this time as a member of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (AA). That summer, he was named to the Eastern League All-Star team and represented the East squad as the designated hitter. In 2019, his final professional season, he appeared in 77 games for the Syracuse Mets (AAA) before a laceration on his left hand ended his season.
In three professional seasons, Tebow batted .223/.299/.338 with 107 runs scored, 48 doubles, three triples, 18 home runs, 107 RBI and five stolen bases in 287 games.</blockquote>
Tebow has a number of ventures taking up his time outside of baseball. During the offseason, the former Heisman Trophy winner works as a college football analyst for the SEC Network.
Tebow, an outspoken Christian, also serves as chairman on his nonprofit, the Tim Tebow Foundation. The foundation performs a number of charitable services centered around spreading the Christian faith.

Tim Tebow Retiring From Professional Baseball: ‘I Feel Called In Other Directions’

Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow shared a story Friday at the annual March for Life about his mom giving birth to him after doctors told her she should have an abortion.
Tebow, the youngest of five children, said that back in 1986, God put in his father&#8217;s heart and mind the idea of having a fifth child, who would become a preacher. Although his mom was initially skeptical about having a fifth child, <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?508444-1/march-life-rally&amp;live">said</a> Tebow, his mom eventually agreed with his dad, and the family prayed for another child. 
But when his mother finally became pregnant, doctors believed that she had a tumor. “Then they realized that she was pregnant, and she did have a baby in her womb. But all the doctors said you need to have an abortion,” said Tebow.
Tebow said that his mother decided to “trust God,” even when the doctor told her that not having an abortion could kill her.
<blockquote>There were so many setbacks and heartaches, but the whole time she continued to trust God. Then it came time to give birth. The doctor, who had been doing it for over 35 years — and this was his specialty, helping women to give birth — and he helped deliver that baby. In over 35 years of doing it, he looked at her and said of all my years, this is the greatest miracle that I have ever seen because I have no idea how he survived: the placenta is not attached and there’s so many different issues, and I don’t know how he had the nourishment and the food to be able to survive. This is a miracle baby. Here is your baby, Mrs. Tebow. And that day, I got to meet my mom, and I’m so grateful that my mom gave me a chance at life, because many times could she have made the choice to do something different. But because of her pro-life story, I now get to share my story.</blockquote>
The March for Life has been held every year since 1974, and strives to “promote the beauty and dignity of every human life by working to end abortion.” March for Life organizers estimate that the event draws more than 100,000 participants every year.
Earlier this month, March for Life officials announced that the in-person rally and march would be canceled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the large law enforcement presence in the nation’s capital. However, the organization vowed to hold virtual events in lieu of the in-person rally, including speeches and a performance.
“We are profoundly grateful for the countless women, men, and families who sacrifice to come out in such great numbers each year as a witness for life – and we look forward to being together in person next year. As for this year’s march, we look forward to being with you virtually,” said March for Life in a statement in early January.
