That legendary “Yellowstone” line pretty much sums up the grip Taylor Sheridan still has on America right now. The newest star of the franchise is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the kind of country Hollywood either forgot how to make or flat-out hates now.
Natalie Alyn Lind just dropped a collection of on-set photos from Dutton Ranch, and honestly? It looks less like a television set and more like a whiskey-soaked middle finger to modern Hollywood.
No lectures. No awkward activist monologues shoved into every scene like a college diversity seminar nobody asked to attend.
Just horses, Texas dust, old-school chemistry, Broncos, cowboy hats, parking lot fights, sunsets, and the kind of rugged Americana that makes normal people want to throw their phone across the room and buy land somewhere.
Lind, who plays Oreana in the “Yellowstone” spinoff “Dutton Ranch,” kicks things off standing beside co-star Finn Little in front of a green Bronco with the top off, looking like they just escaped a Luke Combs music video. Camel leather seats. Film cameras. Dirt roads. All that scene needed was an American flag flying off the back and Rip Wheeler grilling steaks nearby.

And unlike half of modern Hollywood, these photos actually have a pulse.
The behind-the-scenes shots tell their own story. Cast members help each other lasso. They laugh over meals instead of trauma dumping into therapy circles. They saddle horses. They sweat in the Texas heat. They look like they’d actually survive outside of Los Angeles for more than seven minutes.
People can feel the difference immediately.
That’s why “Yellowstone” keeps steamrolling the entertainment industry while billion-dollar studios keep producing unwatchable woke slop that disappears faster than CNN+.
Americans are starving for stories about loyalty, family, romance, grit, hard work, and freedom. Not another depressing lecture about why masculinity is toxic from a guy wearing nail polish in a cardigan.
Nobody wants to spend Friday night watching a seven-year-old explain gender theory to his blue-haired parents while sad indie music plays in the background.
They want fistfights in parking lots.
They want whiskey on the porch.
They want cowboy wisdom, broken hearts, pretty girls, sunsets, country music, and Rip Wheeler looking like he’s two seconds away from sending somebody to the train station.
In short, they want America to feel cool again.
That’s exactly what Sheridan keeps delivering while the rest of Hollywood keeps wondering why audiences stopped showing up.
The new series follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler after they relocate to a massive Texas ranch following the loss of their Montana home. Oreana enters the picture as the love interest for Carter, and their romance begins the old-fashioned way: by stepping into the middle of a fight in a parking lot.
Now that’s how you introduce a character.
The set of Dutton Ranch honestly looks like the kind of party the country wishes still existed, you know, the American dream before everything became filtered through HR departments, TikTok activism, and corporate sensitivity training.

Trump teased the endorsement while taking questions from reporters at the White House. 
“I think MAGA has never been more together, actually. I’m going to be making an endorsement today in Texas,” <a href="https://x.com/cspan/status/2056755698948530671?s=20">Trump said.</a> “I love Texas. I’m going to be making an endorsement at about 12:30, 1 p.m. for the big race — the Senate race in Texas.”

The 11th-hour endorsement comes after the Cornyn campaign appeared to have given up on securing the president’s support. 
“I think that ship has finally sailed,” <a href="https://x.com/JohnnieMo/status/2056412787748847981?s=20">Cornyn said to reporters after voting in Austin, Texas.</a>
He was right. 
&#8220;I have worked closely with President Trump through both of his Presidential terms and voted with him more than 99% of the time. He has consistently called me a friend in this race,&#8221; Cornyn said, reacting to the Paxton endorsement. &#8220;It is now time for Texas Republican voters to decide if they want a strong nominee to help our GOP candidates down ballot and defeat Talarico in November, or a weak nominee who jeopardizes everything we care about. I trust the Republican voters of Texas.&#8221;

When neither Paxton nor Cornyn surpassed the 50% threshold in the initial vote — triggering a runoff — both campaigns stepped up jockeying for Trump’s support.
Paxton raised eyebrows for saying he would consider dropping out of the race if the Senate passed the SAVE America Act.
“I would consider dropping out of this race if Senate Leadership agrees to lift the filibuster and passes the SAVE America Act,” <a href="https://x.com/KenPaxtonTX/status/2029607496395239546?s=20">Paxton</a> wrote.
<a href="https://nypost.com/2026/03/11/opinion/sen-cornyn-why-the-save-act-matters-more-than-the-filibuster/">Cornyn wrote in the op-ed</a> that he had previously backed the “60-vote threshold to protect the country,” but said that “when the reality on the ground changes, leaders must take stock and adapt.”
The SAVE America Act push appeared to sway Trump.
&#8220;I know Ken well, have seen him tested at the highest and most difficult levels, and he is a WINNER! Ken is a Strong Supporter of TERMINATING THE FILIBUSTER and, very importantly, THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, something which polls at 87%, including Dumocrats, and yet can’t seem to get approved,&#8221; Trump said in his Truth Social endorsement. &#8220;Perhaps Ken can help move these important elements of Government forward&#8230;&#8221;
Turning Point Action backs Paxton, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee backs Cornyn.
“The runoff electorate is gonna naturally favor Paxton, because these are conservatives, these are people that are enthusiastic to turn out and support a strong attorney general and President Trump,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-holds-cards-in-texas-showdown-as-one-move-could-clear-the-field">a Republican consultant previously told The Daily Wire</a>.
Whoever wins the Republican nomination will face off against Democratic candidate James Talarico, whom Trump recently ripped into as “weird.”
“I’ll tell you what I do think — I think the Democrats have a weird, a weird candidate. Six genders, a real hit on Jesus,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-roasts-texas-democrat-over-six-genders-and-vegan-flip-flop">Trump told reporters on Air Force One.</a> “I mean, this guy is bad news with his mask from relatively recently, and he’s a vegan. He’s a vegan. All of a sudden, he’s not a vegan. He was a vegan, now all of a sudden he’s not.”
“Texas doesn’t like vegans. I do believe either one of them will easily win the race. I think the candidate the Democrats have in Texas is a very flawed, very weak, very — I think he’s a pathetic candidate, especially for Texas,” the president added.
John Thune, the Republican Senate Majority Leader, expressed disagreement with the decision.
“Sen. Cornyn is a principled conservative. He is a very effective senator for the state of Texas, but none of us control what the president does,” Thune said. “That doesn’t change the way I feel.”

Unique milestone photos are nothing new, but one Texas-based grad is taking things to the next level.
Kat Daley, a graduating McNeese State University student, is going viral online for a photo shoot she did with a live 14-foot alligator named “Big Al.” This moment was personal for her as she helps run Gator Country in Beaumont, Texas, with her fiancé, Eddie.
“I really wanted to highlight what I do with these animals every day and what they mean to me,” she <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/05/17/us-news/glamorous-coed-takes-insane-graduation-pics-with-alligator/">told</a> The New York Post in an interview.

Daley said the photos were partially to show off her life’s work, and partially to help de-stigmatize the animals themselves.
“I feel like reptiles are demonized in the media a lot more than they need to be, alligators specifically. They’re not as aggressive as people like to think. When people don’t interfere with those wild animals, they aren’t gonna interfere with us,” she told the Post.
Her photographer Laura Oglesbee said Daley was calm and professional during the shoot. 
“The alligators are trained, they only do it with Big Al and Big Tex, who have been trained for a long time. It’s not just some random alligator,” she told the outlet. 
Oglesbee said that she was more hesitant about the shots of Daley holding a venomous rattlesnake, which necessitated her using a “wide angle lens” and staying far, far away.

Daley is graduating from McNeese State University with a general studies degree and plans to stay on at Gator Country working for now. The facility, located about 80 miles outside of Houston, takes in around 250 nuisance gators which are captured each year.
“We bring them here, take care of them, feed them, pretty much let them live out their best lives they can in captivity because they don’t have a chance in the wild,” she told The Post of her employer.

“I love the conservation aspect of it, where we get to save these animals that would otherwise be destroyed. But I also love the education aspect, getting people to see and interact with these animals and see they’re not so scary.”
Daley concluded, “Honestly I kind of already have my dream job, so I think I’m just gonna stay right here and see where it takes me.”

Cody Johnson returned to the Academy of Country Music Awards stage Sunday night with a twist on the familiar patriotic anthem &#8220;Travelin&#8217; Soldier&#8221; in front of the packed house at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
With an American flag draped behind him, Johnson belted out the lyrics &#8220;Waitin&#8217; for the love of a travelin&#8217; soldier, our love will never end, waitin&#8217; for the soldier to come back again, never more to be alone, when the letter says, &#8216;A soldier&#8217;s comin&#8217; home.'&#8221; His performance also showcased various branches of the military in action.
Johnson took home the biggest award, Entertainer of the Year, later in the night.
Award shows are often an invitation for political grandstanding. For example, ICE was cast in a negative light at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Johnson chose a decidedly different route, sharing his heartfelt version of the decades-old tune about a teenage girl and a soldier heading off to fight in the Vietnam War.

Johnson has long been a supporter of our troops and began singing an acoustic version of &#8220;Travelin&#8217; Soldier&#8221; during the pandemic. It quickly became a hit, so he finally released the studio version in November 2025 just before Veterans Day. Since the release on Spotify, Johnson&#8217;s version of &#8220;Travelin&#8217; Soldier&#8221; has 77 million streams.
The Texas native brought the crowd to their feet as he ended the song Sunday, proving why the Academy deemed him Entertainer of the Year. He had to beat out some of country music&#8217;s best to take home that trophy for the first time in his career. Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Megan Moroney, and Morgan Wallen were all up for the coveted award. Johnson, known among fans as CoJo, also took home the award for Male Artist of the Year.
The 38-year-old&#8217;s big night at the ACMs builds momentum toward his next studio album, &#8220;Banks Of The Trinity,&#8221; set to be released in June. It&#8217;s his all-new studio album since 2023, when Johnson released &#8220;Leather,&#8221; featuring some of his biggest hits, including &#8220;Dirt Cheap.&#8221;

A Texas hospital that once promoted transgender procedures on kids will create the first-ever “detransition clinic” for those who were subjected to gender procedures, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Friday. 
The detransition clinic will be created as part of a settlement negotiated between Texas Children’s Hospital, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and the Justice Department. Texas Children’s Hospital will additionally pay a $10 million fine and fire five doctors who “performed harmful medical interventions on Texans,” Paxton said. 
“Today is a monumental day in the fight to stop the radical transgender movement. This historic settlement reflects an institutional and fundamental cultural shift away from radical ‘gender’ ideology,” said Paxton. “I applaud Texas Children’s Hospital for changing course and committing to being a part of the solution by agreeing to form a first-of-its-kind Detransition Clinic that will help provide free care to those who have been victimized by twisted, morally bankrupt transgender ideology.”
The detransition care will be paid for by Texas Children’s Hospital for the first five years and will seek to reverse previous transgender procedures performed on patients. Detransitioners like Chloe Cole, who was put on cross-sex hormones and had her breasts removed as a teen, have pushed for there to be more resources for those pushed into gender confusion as children. 
Paxton said the $10 million monetary settlement was due to the hospital billing Texas Medicaid for illegal gender procedures. The hospital has denied those accusations. 
“Under my watch, I will investigate and bring the full force of the law against any Texas hospital that abuses children with harmful medical interventions to ‘transition’ kids,” Paxton said. 
The settlement will additionally require the hospital to no longer provide “gender-transition” services and take additional steps to ensure compliance with Texas law protecting kids from transgender procedures. 
In a statement to The Daily Wire, the hospital insisted that it had always been in compliance with the law and accused Paxton and the Justice Department of an “unconscionable campaign of mistruths and mischaracterizations related to gender affirming care.”
“Today, we made the difficult decision to settle with the Texas Attorney General and the Department of Justice, closing a chapter that has been wrought with falsehoods and distractions,” the hospital said. “To be clear — we are settling to protect our resources from endless and costly litigation. This settlement will allow us to redirect those precious resources to focus on the life-saving care and groundbreaking discoveries of our exceptional clinicians and scientists.”
Texas Children’s Hospital is still being <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-elon-musk-funds-suit-against-texas-childrens-for-malicious-prosecution-of-eithan-haim">sued</a> by Dr. Eithan Haim, a whistleblower who released documents appearing to show its transgender medical program was still active and performing attempted transition procedures on children as young as 11.

Talarico was slammed for his anti-meat views after a <a href="https://x.com/DaveMcCormickPA/status/2034091714726506920">video circulated</a> from 2022 when he said people should eat less meat to reduce “climate change” and said his state legislative campaign was “officially” a “non-meat campaign.” 
“It is now existential that we try to reduce our meat consumption, and that we try to respect animals in all aspects of society,” a masked Talarico said. “And so I am proud to say that our campaign has officially become a non-meat campaign. So we have, we are only buying vegan products from our local vegan businesses.”
In subsequent interviews, Talarico said that he denies “all accusations of veganism,&#8221; and claimed that his “campaign runs on barbecue.”
Trump’s comments also highlighted Talarico’s promotion of transgender ideology. He once claimed during a committee hearing that there are more than two sexes.
“The one thing I want us to all be aware of is that modern science obviously recognizes that there are many more than two biological sexes,” he <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/04/26/texas-lawmaker-sparks-backlash-for-arguing-there-are-six-sexes/">said</a>, pointing to genetic abnormalities. “In fact, there are six.”
Talarico has also claimed that Christianity is pro-abortion and that God is “non-binary.”

Authorities in Laredo have identified five of the six illegal migrants found dead inside a shipping container at a Union Pacific rail yard, with investigators now saying the group likely died from hyperthermia during what federal officials are treating as a botched human smuggling operation.
The Webb County Medical Examiner&#8217;s Office <a href="https://www.lmtonline.com/local/article/crime-lpd-police-laredo-bodies-railyard-container-22254748.php">confirmed</a> Tuesday that the victims included a 14-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man from Honduras, as well as a 29-year-old woman, a 45-year-old man, and a 56-year-old man from Mexico. The sixth victim had not yet been publicly identified.
The discovery was made Sunday afternoon at the Union Pacific Railroad railyard in north Laredo near mile marker 13 of Interstate 35, after workers opened one of the shipping containers and found the bodies inside.
Following an initial examination, medical examiner Dr. Corinne Stern ruled that the 29-year-old woman died of hyperthermia — a dangerous overheating of the body commonly associated with prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures in enclosed spaces. Stern said formal examinations for the remaining five victims were expected to be completed, but officials believe all six likely died the same way.
Stern <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/may/12/deaths-six-people-shipping-container-texas-mexico">told reporters</a> that based on the condition of the bodies and the scene itself, the migrants may have succumbed to the heat within as little as eight hours.
“This was a horrific scene,” Stern said, noting that the container was sealed and could not be opened from the inside. Investigators believe the victims were trapped in the metal cargo unit as temperatures soared in South Texas.
Homeland Security Investigations is leading the case and has classified the incident as a “potential human smuggling event.” The agency is working with the Laredo Police Department and the Texas Rangers as they attempt to determine how the migrants entered the container, how long they were inside, and who may have organized the operation.
Officials also said a seventh body found near railroad tracks outside San Antonio, roughly 150 miles north of Laredo, may be connected. Authorities reportedly discovered the body while tracing the route of the same freight train after receiving an alert that one of the containers had been opened during transit.
The Webb County medical examiner’s office said it has been coordinating with the Mexican consulate to notify family members, assist in positive identification, and arrange repatriation of the victims’ remains.
The case is the latest reminder of the deadly tactics used by human smugglers operating along the southern border, where migrants are frequently hidden in tractor-trailers, stash houses, and cargo containers in an attempt to evade law enforcement. Those methods often become lethal in the Texas heat.
Laredo remains one of the busiest corridors for both legal trade and illegal trafficking across the U.S.-Mexico border. Freight trains crossing from Mexico have long been exploited by smuggling networks because they often slow or stop before reaching inspection points, giving migrants and smugglers opportunities to climb aboard unnoticed.
The tragedy recalls the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/three-people-taken-into-custody-after-deadliest-smuggling-incident-in-american-history">deadliest smuggling disaster</a> in modern U.S. history, when 53 migrants were found dead in the back of an abandoned tractor-trailer in San Antonio in 2022. Two smugglers were later sentenced to life in prison for their roles in that case.
Federal authorities have not yet announced any arrests in the Laredo deaths, and the investigation remains ongoing.

A Texas jury on Tuesday sentenced the FedEx driver who admitted to murdering seven-year-old Athena Strand to death.
Tanner Horner, who confessed last month to killing the young girl in 2022, stood expressionless as Judge George Gallagher delivered the sentence.
&#8220;It is therefore the order of this court that your punishment be death,&#8221; Gallagher <a href="https://x.com/CourtTV/status/2051758166690378069?s=20">said</a>.
Strand&#8217;s naked body was found in a creek on December 2, 2022, just about 40 miles north of the courtroom where Horner learned his fate. The judge said the execution would be carried out by lethal injection &#8220;before the hour of sunrise&#8221; at a future date.
After the verdict, Athena&#8217;s uncle, Elijah Strand, addressed Horner directly while fighting back tears.
&#8220;You did not just take a life, you destroyed a family,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You will be judged. You will face the wrath of God. And I want you to know that you are nothing. You are a footnote in Athena&#8217;s story. Her name will forever be celebrated and everyone will forget you.&#8221;
Horner looked toward Strand as he spoke but otherwise showed little reaction in court.
Tuesday&#8217;s sentencing concluded a case that has devastated the Strand family since 2022. Horner was working as a FedEx delivery driver when he went to Athena&#8217;s father&#8217;s home. He told investigators he accidentally struck the child with his truck while backing out of the driveway, per <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/tanner-horner-trial-sentenced-death-penalty-kidnapping-murder-athena-strand/">CBS News</a>.
According to investigators, Horner said Athena did not appear seriously injured, but he panicked, placed her in his vehicle, and strangled her out of fear she would tell her dad what happened.
Horner pleaded guilty to his capital murder and kidnapping charges on April 7, just before his trial was set to begin. The case then moved into a two-week sentencing phase.
Dallas television station <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ftsist8BhlA">WFAA</a> had access inside the courtroom during the sentencing hearings, where audio played of Horner strangling Athena inside the vehicle. At one point, Horner told Athena to take her shirt off, and she replied: &#8220;My mom says that you can&#8217;t do that to me.&#8221;
She started to scream as the sounds of Horner slamming her into the floor of his truck echoed through the courtroom, according to <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/05/05/us-news/killer-fedex-driver-who-murdered-little-athena-strand-sentenced-to-death/">The Post</a>.
Christmas songs can be heard on the FedEx truck&#8217;s radio. Horner sang along to &#8220;Jingle Bell Rock&#8221; as he strangled her with his bare hands, per the outlet.
Horner returned to the area the following day as search efforts were underway and denied any knowledge of the child&#8217;s disappearance, authorities said.
Under Texas law, the death sentence will automatically be appealed to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

Less than a year after a devastating flood in Texas killed 25 young campers and two counselors, Camp Mystic has abandoned plans to reopen this summer after backlash and ongoing investigations.
The camp had initially aimed for a May 30 reopening, but faced intense scrutiny from Texas lawmakers, law enforcement, and victims&#8217; families. A recent state health agency review also found the camp failed to meet key safety and emergency requirements.
In a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/30/us/camp-mystic-texas-floods-closure.html">statement</a> released Thursday, Camp Mystic said it would not reopen and is “withdrawing its application for a summer 2026 camp license.”
“No administrative process or summer season should move forward while families continue to grieve, while investigations continue and while so many Texans still carry the pain of last July’s tragedy,” the statement read.
The camp said it did not want to &#8220;remove any doubt&#8221; that it had heard concerns from grieving families, state lawmakers, and the public, though it noted that “over 800 girls want to return” this summer.
The announcement follows contentious hearings this week at the Texas State Capitol, where the Eastland family, which owns and operates Camp Mystic, faced hours of questioning from lawmakers.
“If y’all are left as an operator in any form or fashion, what deterrent does that send to another operator that I can have kids die on my watch and still be an operator?” State Senator Charles Perry said.
State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst also questioned whether the camp was prepared to resume operations.
“Do you really think you’re ready to take on 500 children plus?” she asked.
The Eastlands defended their response to the disaster.
“This flood, we did not see coming,” said Edward Eastland, the camp&#8217;s director. “Our concept of high ground has now changed forever.”
Edward Eastland&#8217;s father, Dick Eastland, a former director of the camp, was among those who died in the flood.
Mary Liz Eastland, who also helps run the camp, said the family is willing to step back if necessary.
“We’re willing to take a step back, if camp can go on,” she said.
The camp is also facing multiple lawsuits from victims&#8217; families.

An alleged Chinese &#8220;birth tourism&#8221; center — which claims to have facilitated the births of 1,000 American-born babies — has been operating in Texas for nearly two decades.
Now, the Lone Star State is trying to stop them.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton <a href="https://x.com/KenPaxtonTX/status/2049570167475368334">announced</a> a lawsuit Wednesday against the De’Ai Postpartum Care Center in Houston, accusing them of &#8220;exploiting birthright citizenship by unlawfully facilitating the invasion of Chinese nationals &#8230; for the sole purpose of giving birth.&#8221;
“America is for Americans, not foreigners trying to cheat the system to claim citizenship,” Paxton said Wednesday, alleging that the center &#8220;facilitated an invasion of Texas&#8221; while &#8220;shielding and facilitating violations of immigration law.&#8221;
&#8220;Birthright citizenship is a scam that threatens national security, and I will do everything in my power to stop unlawful ‘birth tourism’ schemes like this one,&#8221; Paxton added.

Last week, the center posted a video to TikTok encouraging women to apply for American tourist visas &#8220;before pregnancy,&#8221; stating that the federal government &#8220;will strictly investigate birth tourism,&#8221; adding, &#8220;It is easy to be rejected if you sign after pregnancy.&#8221;
The center runs at least four homes, which host multiple families at once and can facilitate &#8220;up to twenty new births per day,&#8221; according to the lawsuit.
It also &#8220;claims to offer a variety of options for tourism while expectant families await the birth of their child,&#8221; that include a &#8220;luxury chauffeured black-car service across the Houston area for its high-paying guests, purportedly to visit the variety of different locales advertised on its social media page, including the spring bluebonnets in Brenham, Texas, the Houston Rodeo, Christmas light shows in Houston, and the Louvre Couture exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts,&#8221; the lawsuit states.
The Daily Wire requested comment from two of the accused clinic partners.
On the first day of his second term in the White House, President Donald Trump signed an executive order ending birthright citizenship. The order, which has been paused due to multiple legal challenges, now sits before the Supreme Court.
The high court heard oral arguments April 1, which were attended by the president himself.
“We are the only Country in the World STUPID enough to allow ‘Birthright’ Citizenship!” Trump posted on Truth Social shortly after the conclusion of the oral arguments.
Republican Kentucky Senator Rand Paul <a href="https://x.com/SenRandPaul/status/2049862587064443291">introduced</a> a constitutional amendment Thursday to end birthright citizenship to ensure &#8220;that only children born to legal residents of the U.S. are automatically citizens.&#8221;
&#8220;Under current interpretations of American law, anyone born on American soil automatically becomes a U.S. citizen, regardless of whether the parent was here legally or not,&#8221; Paul said. &#8220;This is wrong and not at all the intent of those who wrote the 14th Amendment.&#8221;
&#8220;We are a country filled with immigrants, and legal immigration is valuable and should be protected. But we are also a country whose borders have been too open and our generosity exploited too often. President Trump has moved to seal our border from illegal immigrants more than any other president. But we will have more to do,&#8221; he added.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) suggested that the attack on the White House Correspondents&#8217; Dinner may have been &#8220;fake&#8221; because she couldn&#8217;t believe there would be so many assassination attempts targeting one president.
“Back to the shooting… has there ever been a president have this many close ‘attempts’ on their life? Maybe it’s lax gun laws, maybe it’s lack of mental health funding, or maybe it’s fake… who knows,” Crockett <a href="https://www.threads.com/@jasmineforus/post/DXleHDJDqJc">wrote</a> on her Jasmine For US Threads page just hours after the attack.
Crockett made the post shortly after law enforcement detained a man who rushed into the Washington Hilton with a pump action shotgun. The man, who was tackled by Secret Service agents, has been identified as Cole Thomas Allen of California.
Crockett, who mounted an unsuccessful campaign for the Texas Senate Democratic nomination earlier this year, took a less conspiratorial approach on her official accounts. In a <a href="https://x.com/RepJasmine/status/2048256882150711728">post</a> on her official X account, Crockett condemned political violence.
“The political violence is unacceptable and must stop,” she wrote. “I am grateful that everyone attending tonight’s WHCD is safe.”
Trump has been the target of multiple assassination attempts and was shot in the ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024. A few months later, a man armed with a rifle attempted to take Trump out while he was golfing in Florida, but was chased away by the Secret Service.
Evidence from the Justice Department appears to show that Allen was targeting Trump and other top administration officials. An FBI affidavit <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-unseals-email-from-suspected-trump-gunman-detailing-motive?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=FBI+Unseals+Email+From+Suspected+Trump+Gunman+Detailing+Motive">unsealed</a> on Monday afternoon showed an email Allen is said to have sent to his family saying that he was no longer willing to allow “a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.”
The message also identified potential targets.
“Administration officials (not including Mr. Patel): they are targets, prioritized from highest-ranking to lowest,” the email stated.
The affidavit further indicates that the attack appeared to have been planned for weeks. Allen booked a room at the Washington Hilton on April 6, then traveled by train from the Los Angeles area to Chicago on April 21, arriving April 23 before continuing on to Washington, D.C.

The nationwide mid-decade redistricting battle appears to be entering its final stretch, with major developments unfolding in Florida, Texas, and Virginia.
Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday unveiled his proposed congressional map that could add up to four GOP- leaning seats, as lawmakers prepare to take up the plan during a special session that kicks off on Tuesday.
&#8220;Florida got shortchanged in the 2020 Census, and we’ve been fighting for fair representation ever since,&#8221; DeSantis told <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ron-desantis-unveils-new-florida-congressional-map-would-give-gop-extra-four-seats" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a>. &#8220;Our population has since grown dramatically, and we have moved from a Democrat majority to a 1.5 million Republican advantage. Drawing maps based on race, which is reflected in our current congressional districts, is unconstitutional and should be prohibited.”
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court cleared the way for Texas’s congressional map to move forward, shooting down a lower court ruling that had blocked it over claims of race-based gerrymandering. The map is expected to produce five Republican-leaning seats, according to the <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2026/04/27/texas-redistricting-map-ruling-us-supreme-court-upheld-2026-midterms/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Texas Tribune</a>, and the high court had previously signaled in December that it was likely to allow the plan to stand.
“This was an intentional effort to limit the power of people of color in a state known for going to extremes to suppress the vote,” said Damon Hewitt, president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. “It is one of the most blatant examples yet of modern-day racial gerrymandering, under the thin guise of partisanship.”
In Virginia, the state Supreme Court heard oral arguments Monday in a closely watched case that could determine the fate of a newly approved congressional map. Voters last week narrowly backed a constitutional amendment that would shift the state&#8217;s delegation from a 6-4 split to a 10-1 Democratic advantage.
If the Virginia court blocks the new map, it could significantly alter the broader redistricting fight and determine which party will come out on top.
“Hang in there.
