Errors in the 2020 census benefited Democrats and hurt Republicans, and these inaccuracies could make a difference on Election Day.
In 2022, a report from the U.S. Census Bureau revealed that the 2020 census incorrectly counted the American population in at least 14 states, leading some states to lose congressional representation. The report was <a href="https://www.heritage.org/election-integrity/report/census-bureau-errors-distort-congressional-representation-the-states" target="_blank" rel="noopener">highlighted</a> at the time by Heritage Foundation scholar Hans von Spakovsky, who told The Daily Wire that the errors could benefit Democrats in November.
“The result of the Census errors in Florida and Texas, two red states, should have three more electoral seats that they never got,” von Spakovsky wrote in an email. “Whereas three blue states, Minnesota, Rhode Island, and Colorado, have three congressional seats &#8211; and thus three electoral votes &#8211; they should not have. In a razor thin election, this could make the difference in victory.”
Another Heritage scholar, Stephen Moore, who is also an author and founder of the Club For Growth, brought the report back into the light over the weekend, noting, “A majority of the overcounted states were blue, while a majority of the undercounted states were red.”

Moore included a chart showing that overcounted states included Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Utah. The error size in New York resulted in a population miscount of +695,422. Minnesota and Rhode Island, whose overcounting resulted in them keeping electoral votes they should have lost, overcounted their populations by 216,971 and 55,457, respectively.
Though Rhode Island overcounted by a smaller amount than the other states (it was still a 5% increase in population, however), it managed to hold onto a congressional seat that it should have lost, the Associated Press <a href="https://turnto10.com/news/local/rhode-island-overcounted-during-the-2020-census-rhode-island-may-19-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in 2022.

If Rhode Island had counted 19,000 fewer residents – as it should have – it would have lost one of its two congressional seats. Had that happened, the AP reported, that congressional seat would have gone to New York.
As for Florida, it undercounted residents by 750,600. It only needed about 171,500 more residents to gain an extra seat. Texas, too, was undercounted by about 560,000 residents when it only needed 189,000 to gain another congressional seat.
In his analysis of the Census Bureau report, von Spakovsky noted:
<blockquote>Under the 2020 Census enumeration released on April 26, 2021, the total apportionment population of the United States was reported as 331,108,434. After application of the “method of equal proportion,” five states each gained one new congressional seat: Colorado, Florida, Montana, North Carolina, and Oregon. Texas gained two new seats. Due to population decreases, seven states each lost one congressional seat: California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.</blockquote>
These errors can’t be corrected until the 2030 census, which could bring additional, similar errors.

A Texas man is suing police, his hometown, and his accuser after he was arrested and charged with sexual assault before police even interviewed him.
John Marks is alleging he was wrongfully arrested, detained, and prosecuted despite “clear and compelling exculpatory evidence, including comprehensive surveillance footage and the inconsistent, false statements made by Amanda Zawieruszynski,” <a href="https://atlantablackstar.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/John-Marks-v-City-of-Manvel-et-al-Complaint.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to his lawsuit</a>, a copy of which was obtained by the Atlanta Black Star.
In his lawsuit, Marks, who is black, compared his case to the book “To Kill A Mockingbird,” in which a black man is falsely accused of sexual assault by a white woman and is presumed guilty because of his skin color.
&#8220;It totally turned my world upside down. It was literally a nightmare, having my life in somebody else&#8217;s hands. It was three felony charges of the most heinous thing a man could possibly do,&#8221; Marks <a href="https://atlantablackstar.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/John-Marks-v-City-of-Manvel-et-al-Complaint.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> ABC 13. &#8220;I was fearful, thinking they were going to come back into my house, causing me to be hyper-vigilant and not being able to sleep.&#8221;
Marks, who moved to Manvel, Texas, in April 2023, said he developed a close relationship with his neighbor, Zawieruszynski. He said in his lawsuit that Zawieruszynski regularly came to his home, and their relationship became intimate, as she told him she was divorced and not married.
On November 9, 2023, Marks hosted a housewarming party, which was attended by his friend Detective Freddie Douglas. Throughout the night, Marks said, he and Zawieruszynski texted, and she told him she wanted to attend the party. She arrived later that evening with cupcakes. Marks, who had surveillance cameras outside his home, observed Zawieruszynski enter his home in high spirits and “no signs of distress or hesitation.” She partied with Marks and the guests and entered his swimming pool.
Surveillance footage, according to Marks’ lawsuit, shows Zawieruszynski willingly undressing and entering the pool without any coercion or pressure. The footage also shows Zawieruszynski engaging in consensual sexual activity with Marks and Douglas and footage of Zawieruszynski moving throughout the home without fear, the lawsuit says. She also had multiple opportunities to leave if she had felt uncomfortable, including a time when she was in the house while Marks and Douglas were outside in the pool.
Marks’ surveillance cameras included audio, which he said in his lawsuit further demonstrates the “consensual nature of the interactions.”
Footage from later in the night shows Zawieruszynski leaving the property without any signs of distress, certainly not fleeing from a dangerous situation, the lawsuit says.
But a month after the party, Zawieruszynski went to the Manvel Police Department and claimed she had been kidnapped by Marks and Douglas and was sexually assaulted by the two men. She alleged that she had been afraid to leave the house and neglected to inform the police department about her prior relationship with Marks.
The complaint used to get an arrest warrant for Marks failed to mention this relationship or the surveillance footage that contradicted Zawieruszynski’s claims, even though Marks had informed police officers of the footage.
When police searched Marks’ home, he alleges they attempted to tamper with his surveillance system by reducing the retention period of footage, which could have erased evidence. He was also temporarily locked out of the system and prevented from accessing the footage.
Marks was arrested on December 7 and alleges officers used excessive force and ignored his requests to speak with a lawyer. He was held on a $300,000 bond and wasn’t told the charges against him. His arrest was also broadcast across the media and caused damage to his personal and professional reputation.
The Brazoria County District Attorney’s Office even tried to stop the prosecution of Marks, suggesting police drop the charges because of the evidence showing Marks was innocent. But police persisted, and the case was brought before a grand jury, which refused to indict Marks.
Now Marks is suing the city of Manvel, two named police officers, as well as Zawieruszynski, claiming they made false allegations against him.
Douglas has filed his own lawsuit.
Manvel Police Chief Keith Traylor said in a statement to ABC 13 that Marks’ claims against the police department were false.
&#8220;Following the arrests, several false or misleading allegations were made against the Police Department,” Traylor said. “Sadly, these destructive narratives only serve to divide our residents and have no place in our community. The Manvel Police Department works to uphold the highest standards of the law enforcement profession, and the outcome of this legal action will demonstrate that we have held to these standards.&#8221;
Thomas Cammack, an attorney representing Zawieruszynski, told ABC 13 that his client was filing her own lawsuit.
&#8220;Despite recent claims and circulation of a misleading and harmful narrative, it is clear that Ms. Zawieruszynski was raped, and did not consent to any sexual activity with the perpetrators,” he told the <a href="https://abc13.com/post/manvel-texas-police-department-lawsuit-john-marks-freddie-douglas-grand-jury-declines-sexual-assault-indictment/15233496/">outlet</a>. “After the incident, Ms. Zawieruszynski sought immediate medical attention, where a thorough forensic examination was conducted, which provided substantial evidence supporting the fact that the encounter was non-consensual and that the victim&#8217;s injuries were consistent with sexual assault &#8211; information that will be highlighted in Ms. Zawieruszynski&#8217;s recently filed lawsuit.”
He added: “The evidence in this criminal case is being reviewed and has been turned over to law enforcement, including Ms. Zawieruszynski&#8217;s need for ongoing surgical interventions to repair internal and external physical damage from the assault. Ms. Zawieruszynski is cooperating fully with the authorities and remains committed to pursuing justice through the legal system where she is looking forward to seeing the truth and facts prevail.”

A Dallas Police Department officer was shot and killed on Thursday night, and two others were wounded by a suspect who was later shot dead by law enforcement.
Dallas police responded to an officer in distress at around 10:00 p.m. and found him &#8220;shot in a marked squad car,&#8221; Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/dallas-police-officer-killed-2-others-injured-we-lost-one-our-own" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Police &#8220;exchanged gunfire with a suspect at the scene,&#8221; and two other officers were wounded, including one who is in critical condition.
After shooting and killing the police officer, the suspect fled in a vehicle and drove around 30 miles away to Lewisville. Responding officers chased the suspect, and the pursuit ended with the suspect exiting his car with a long gun before he was shot and killed by police officers.
The family of the slain Dallas officer identified him on Friday as 46-year-old Darron Burks, The Dallas Morning News <a href="https://archive.ph/7pc8a" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Burks was a former school teacher who had recently graduated from the police academy. The officers who were wounded in the shooting have not yet been named.

A four-term Democrat Texas state representative who broke with her party and sided with the GOP on bills such as one banning gender-transitioning surgeries for minors and another designed to remove sexually explicit books from school libraries has announced she will join the Republican Party.
Houston Democrat Shawn Thierry, who lost her seat in a May runoff, announced her decision on Friday.
“As a woman, a mother, and a lawmaker, I have dedicated my life to championing the values that fortify our families and uplift our communities. After much reflection, prayer, and soul-searching, I have come to a decision that aligns with my core values and the best interests of our beloved country,” she wrote on X.
“For my entire adult life, I have voted as a Democrat. I was raised in a household with my amazing parents who believed the Democratic Party was the party of the people—a beacon of justice and opportunity for all,” she recalled. “But as the years have passed, I have watched with dismay as the party I once knew has drifted far from its roots. It has become almost unrecognizable—radicalized and increasingly out of touch with the values that millions of everyday Americans hold dear. The Democratic Party has veered so far left, so deep into the progressive abyss, that it now champions policies that I cannot, in good conscience, support policies like promoting sex changes for children during a vulnerable stage of their lives, and dismantling Title IX protections for women in sports.”

Thousands of non-citizens and felons were removed from the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/texas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Texas</a> voter rolls since the implementation of a 2021 law that has been celebrated as a way to safeguard the state’s elections.
More than 1 million ineligible voters have been removed from the Lone Star State’s voter rolls, Governor Greg Abbott <a href="https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governor-abbott-announces-over-1-million-ineligible-voters-removed-from-voter-rolls">announced</a> yesterday. The cleanup of the voter rolls, which was made possible by <a href="https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governor-abbott-signs-election-integrity-legislation-into-law">Senate Bill 1</a>, resulted in over 6,500 non-citizens and more than 6,000 felons being removed.
“Election integrity is essential to our democracy,” Abbott stated. “I have signed the strongest election laws in the nation to protect the right to vote and to crackdown on illegal voting. These reforms have led to the removal of over one million ineligible people from our voter rolls in the last three years, including noncitizens, deceased voters, and people who moved to another state.”
“We will continue to actively safeguard Texans’ sacred right to vote while also aggressively protecting our elections from illegal voting,” Abbott went on to state. The announcement from Abbott also noted that the process is ongoing.
In addition to the thousands of non-citizens and felons, the cleanup also resulted in the removal of more than 457,000 deceased people and over 134,000 people who had moved from the voter rolls.

The voter roll cleanup comes as Texas has become an increasingly competitive state in some recent elections, with Republicans sometimes only winning by slim margins. In the <a href="https://www.cnn.com/election/2018/results/texas">2018 midterms</a>, for example, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz beat his Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke by just over 200,000 votes.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin also recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/virginia-removes-more-than-6000-non-citizens-from-voter-rolls">removed 6,300 non-citizens</a> from his state’s voter rolls after signing an executive order telling the Department of Elections to remove “non-citizens who may have purposefully or accidentally registered to vote.”
Gov. Abbott and Gov. Youngkin’s efforts to remove non-citizens from their states’ voter rolls come amid growing concerns that mass illegal immigration could harm the integrity of American elections. Elon Musk has <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/elon-musk-says-democrats-allow-illegal-immigration-build-political-power">accused</a> the Democratic Party of leveraging illegal immigration to grow their political power, in part by allowing illegal immigrants to be counted in the Congressional district apportionment process.

Police busted a methamphetamine distribution operation in Colony Ridge, a sprawling land development north of Houston, Texas that uses legally questionable tactics to attract illegal immigrants.
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit <a href="https://bluebonnetnews.com/2024/08/22/lcso-3-arrested-in-major-meth-bust-in-liberty-county/">seized 86 pounds of crystal methamphetamine</a> that was intended for distribution and arrested three suspects after a brief pursuit.
Colony Ridge is estimated to have anywhere from 45,000 to 75,000 residents, and sprawls across roughly 60 square miles, making it nearly the size of Washington, D.C. The development has become infamous for advertising and offering financing to illegal immigrants, and now <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-doj-sues-colony-ridge-for-bait-and-switch-sales-predatory-financing">faces lawsuits</a> from the Department of Justice, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
The three suspects, Misael Jaramillo, Cesar Patino, and Martha Julissa Martinez, were arrested after Patino allegedly attempted to escape and rammed his vehicle into police vehicles. Patino also allegedly threw a handgun out of the vehicle before being arrested. Jaramillo allegedly attempted to escape authorities before also being apprehended.
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office went to Jaramillio’s Colony Ridge residence, which law enforcement said was being used as a meth laboratory following Patino and Jaramillo&#8217;s arrests. The officers searched the property and reportedly found cocaine, weapons, and more meth, which Martha Julissa Martinez reportedly attempted to hide from authorities prior to her arrest. Martinez was then arrested at the residence.

The Colony Ridge drug bust comes just months after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/police-arrest-second-illegal-immigrant-murder-suspect-living-in-colony-ridge">two illegal immigrant murder suspects</a> who lived in the development were arrested by the Splendora Police Department. One of the two murder suspects, Juan Jose Valero Cruz, had already been deported from the United States twice and was slated to be deported a third time after his arrest, the Department of Homeland Security stated.
Colony Ridge came under scrutiny late last year after a teen was allegedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/crime-at-colony-ridge-teen-abducted-in-heavily-scrutinized-texas-development-two-suspects-on-the-run">abducted at gunpoint</a> inside the development and shot at after he fled from the kidnappers.

Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital in Houston is the largest children&#8217;s hospital in the world. They treat more than four million patients under the age of 21 every year, most of them minors. And because of the hospital&#8217;s size and prestige, what happens at TCH doesn&#8217;t just affect those patients. What happens at TCH also influences how other major children&#8217;s hospitals all around the country conduct their operations.
That&#8217;s what makes the reporting out of Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital this year — most of it done by Chris Rufo — impossible to ignore. In the span of a little over a year, two whistleblowers have come forward to allege that TCH is systemically deceiving the public and potentially violating the law.
The first whistleblower, a general surgeon named Eithan Haim, provided records to Rufo which demonstrated that TCH had not, in fact, shut down its child sex-change program as promised. This was significant because the attorney general of Texas, Ken Paxton, had just released a legal opinion stating that child sex-change surgeries — as well as cross-sex hormone treatments — constitutes child abuse under Texas law. So TCH claimed that they shut the program down in order to avoid prosecution. As the hospital put it, they wanted to:
<blockquote>safeguard our health care professionals and impacted families from potential criminal legal ramification.</blockquote>
So they stood by the child sterilization, but they said they had no choice but to comply with the attorney general.
According to Rufo&#8217;s reporting, Haim provided redacted records proving that TCH then quietly restarted the program without informing the public. In effect, they didn&#8217;t really shut it down at all. Haim didn&#8217;t give Rufo any personally identifying information about any patients, and no personally identifiable information was ever released publicly. He provided only the information that was necessary to verify that TCH was continuing to perform procedures related to child sex-changes, in apparent defiance of the attorney general.
For example, the records reportedly demonstrated that TCH allowed a doctor to, “insert a non-biodegradable drug delivery implant” into an 11-year-old girl who identified as transgender. The records also indicated that several children between the ages of 11 and 15 received these implants, among many other procedures.
The Texas legislature clearly thought Haim&#8217;s revelations were worth acting on. The very next day after Rufo published his report on Haim&#8217;s claims, the Texas legislature voted — in bipartisan fashion — to ban so-called &#8220;gender-affirming care&#8221; for minors. So the attorney general&#8217;s legal opinion wasn&#8217;t just an opinion anymore. It was binding on hospitals like TCH.

On these facts, there&#8217;s no question that Eithan Haim is a whistleblower by any definition.
He chose to risk career — which was just beginning — to provide information that his employer might be systematically violating the law. And not just any law — but a law designed to protect children from being abused and permanently sterilized. On top of that, Haim&#8217;s evidence indicated that TCH might be lying to the public, which is a pretty big deal when you&#8217;re talking about a children&#8217;s hospital. If they&#8217;re willing to lie about castrating children, it might lead you to wonder what else they&#8217;re willing to lie about, and how deep the corruption goes. Haim&#8217;s disclosures directly led to a substantial change in Texas law, in record time, which means that by definition, they were highly relevant to the public interest. You cannot define &#8220;whistleblower&#8221; anymore clearly than this.
But Joe Biden and Kamala Harris&#8217; DOJ didn&#8217;t see it that way.
A month later, they sent federal agents to his door to inform him that he was under investigation for HIPAA violations.

So according to the DOJ, Eithan Haim wanted to cause &#8220;malicious harm&#8221; to the hospital. They&#8217;re not concerned about the permanent harm that this massive and well-funded hospital may be causing to children. Instead, the prosecutors are worried about the &#8220;harm&#8221; that the hospital might suffer when the public learns what it&#8217;s doing, in defiance of the attorney general and Texas law.
This is a hospital that, by the way, receives a lot of money and tax breaks from the government. We have every right to know what it&#8217;s doing. But apparently the hospital&#8217;s employees are not allowed to &#8220;harm&#8221; the hospital by informing the public about the procedures they&#8217;re performing.
You might remember that Democrats didn&#8217;t always treat whistleblowers this way. During the Trump administration, a CIA operative who was assigned to the White House leaked classified recordings of Trump to Adam Schiff. That led to the first impeachment trial. We weren&#8217;t even allowed to know the CIA operative&#8217;s name at any point during the proceedings. Corporate media outlets refused to tell us. Even in Congress, lawmakers were told it was off-limits to reveal his identity. John Roberts, who was presiding over the impeachment, enforced that rule. This was a &#8220;whistleblower&#8221; who wasn&#8217;t even alleging that Trump had violated any law. And yet, this CIA employee was treated with such reverence that, to this day, we&#8217;re not allowed to say his name in public.
But Eithan Haim — who actually displayed real bravery, and who disclosed relevant information about a children&#8217;s hospital — now faces up to a decade in prison if convicted. His life gets destroyed and his career is ended, all for telling the truth. And he&#8217;s not the only one.
This week, a nurse named Vanessa Sivadge revealed that she was recently fired by Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital. Her crime was alleging that TCH bills Medicaid to provide puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to children, in violation of federal law. TCH immediately denied this allegation.
Then the Biden administration sent more federal agents to harass her at her home, because that&#8217;s what happens when you start saying inconvenient things about so-called &#8220;gender affirming care.&#8221; Watch:

The only reason these agents showed up to Sivadge&#8217;s home was to intimidate her. They weren&#8217;t there to arrest her. They weren&#8217;t there to inform her that she was the target of any investigation. The point was to imply that she&#8217;d better keep her mouth shut because the federal government was watching her.
In a letter to Rufo, Sivadge said she had attempted to transfer away from the endocrine unit as a last-ditch effort to avoid working in this area of so-called medicine, but the hospital refused her request:
<blockquote>This past Friday on August 16, TCH fired me effective immediately. This is unlawful for two reasons: it is retaliation for my coming forward with information on TCH’s egregious pattern of deception and Medicaid fraud, and this action also illegally disregarded my request to transfer due to my belief that these procedures provide irreversible harm and lifelong regret to children confused by their sex.</blockquote>
If it&#8217;s true that TCH is defrauding Medicaid, it wouldn&#8217;t be particularly surprising. Last year, I posted a Twitter thread looking to two of the largest so-called &#8220;trans healthcare&#8221; providers, known as Plume and Folx. And both of these providers indicated that they diagnose patients with &#8220;dysphoria,&#8221; even if they don&#8217;t really have it, in order to ensure that insurance pays out. In fact, Folx openly admitted doing this on their website. This is the kind of apparent fraud that can take place openly when your industry has the full backing of the Biden DOJ. When you know the government&#8217;s on your side, you can admit to fraud in public and no one does anything. It&#8217;s the people who point out the fraud who get harassed and even jailed.
What&#8217;s particularly troubling about the situation at TCH is that Vanessa Sivadge was clearly in a position to know if the hospital was defrauding Medicaid. She interacted with doctors who were ordering various procedures and medications, and she coordinated prescription refills all the time. She once taught a child how to inject sex-change hormones. It was her job, which she performed up until the moment she realized how immoral it was.
As Sivadge put it:
<blockquote>In the cardiac clinic, we were taking sick kids and making them better. In the transgender clinic, it was the opposite. We were harming these kids.</blockquote>
So there&#8217;s only two possibilities here. Either this nurse is, for some reason, lying about her own first-hand observations, knowing it would completely destroy her career and her life. Or, like Eithan Haim, she&#8217;s telling the truth. And right now the latter explanation seems a lot more believable.
In response to her termination, Sivadge <a href="https://x.com/V_Sivadge/status/1825580932385956052" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> just two words on social media: &#8220;Worth it.&#8221;
That&#8217;s the kind of response you&#8217;d expect from someone who knows that the Texas attorney general&#8217;s investigation is going to validate everything she said. It&#8217;s a rare example of bravery in an industry that&#8217;s sorely lacking it. And it&#8217;s exactly what it will take to end this insanity and stop the mutilation and sterilization of children. 
These two whistleblowers alone have had a major impact. What happens next at Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital could determine what happens not just to the millions of children in their care, but to all the other children&#8217;s hospitals that look to TCH for guidance.
What&#8217;s needed now is for more whistleblowers to come forward, to follow their conscience and to expose this fraudulent industry for what it is.

The woman who blew the whistle on child sex changes at Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital says she has been fired.
Nurse Vanessa Sivadge was one of several whistleblowers who reportedly revealed details about the Houston hospital performing sex change procedures on children as young as 11, as well as alleged Medicaid fraud related to sex changes for minors.
Sivadge said she was fired on Friday &#8220;effective immediately&#8221; in a message to City Journal’s Christopher Rufo, who broke the story of her whistleblower allegations. Rufo posted her message to social media on Monday.

Sivadge said back in May that she requested a religious accommodation to transfer from the endocrinology clinic to the cardiology clinic so that she would no longer have to participate in putting children on cross-sex hormones.

However, she was put on leave the day after her whistleblower allegations went public. Texas Children&#8217;s cited her claims and her request for religious accommodation, she said.
&#8220;This is unlawful for two reasons: it is retaliation for my coming forward with information on TCH&#8217;s egregious pattern of deception and Medicaid fraud, and this action also illegally disregarded my request to transfer due to my belief that these procedures bring irreversible harm and lifelong regret to children confused about their sex,&#8221; Sivadge said.
Sivadge said she would like to challenge her firing but is currently relying on donations from the public for her legal fees.
Earlier this year, Sivadge went public with allegations that Texas Children&#8217;s was openly committing Medicaid fraud when it came to cross-sex hormones for children.

&#8220;A healthy, 16-year-old male was said to have an estrogen deficiency as the official diagnosis, and that then allowed the doctor to prescribe estrogen to this healthy boy, and vice versa with the female,&#8221; she said.
&#8220;They were not trying to hide this,&#8221; Sivadge said.
Other whistleblower accusations against Texas Children&#8217;s, the biggest children&#8217;s hospital in the country, involve providers inserting an implantable puberty blocker in multiple children, including an 11-year-old girl, City Journal <a href="https://www.city-journal.org/article/sex-change-procedures-at-texas-childrens-hospital#:~:text=Last%20spring%2C%20executives%20at%20Texas,affirming%20therapy%2C" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> last year.
The other children who got “drug delivery implants” inserted were 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 years old, according to the medical records.
Also, the hospital has “activist” doctors and a “culture of fear” around gender treatments for children, whistleblowers alleged.

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Akili McDowell</a>, best known for his roles in the Showtime drama “Billions” and OWN network’s “David Makes Man,” has been arrested and charged with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/murder">murder</a>.
The charges stem from the parking lot shooting death of Cesar Peralta, which occurred in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/houston">Houston</a> on July 20. McDowell was previously charged with theft on August 1 and subsequently arrested for murder on August 2, per <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/05/entertainment/billions-actor-akili-mcdowell-arrested-and-charged-with-murder/">The New York Post</a>. 
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an incident at the parking lot of an apartment complex at 13503 North Thorntree, where they discovered an adult male pronounced dead at the scene, who was later identified as 20-year-old Peralta. The victim had sustained gunshot wounds.

McDowell, 21, was still being held on a $400,000 bond at the Harris County Jail Facility as of Monday, per The Hollywood Reporter. The actor’s relation to the victim was still unclear as of Tuesday, and how McDowell responded to the charges is also unknown. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
The actor played the character ​​Savion Williams in two episodes of “Billions.” He also had a starring role in “David Makes Man,” a coming-of-age drama about a teenage prodigy named David (McDowell) who lived in the projects in South Florida while attending a school for academically gifted students.

A federal appeals court sided with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/texas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Texas</a> on Tuesday, saying that the state does not have to remove a water buoy barrier placed in the Rio Grande to deter illegal immigration.
In its <a href="https://www.ca5.uscourts.gov/opinions/pub/23/23-50632-CV1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decision</a>, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Biden administration failed to provide evidence that the barrier needed to be removed, vacating a lower court’s order. The Justice Department had filed a lawsuit against Texas accusing it of violating federal law after it placed a chain of floating buoys along a stretch of the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass. 
“Cognizant of our role as a court of review and of the reality that a preliminary injunction is an exceptional remedy, we hold that the district court clearly erred in finding that the United States will likely prove that the barrier is in a navigable stretch of the Rio Grande,” Circuit Judge Don Willett wrote. “We cannot square the district court’s findings and conclusions with over a century’s worth of precedent, which on a fair and faithful reading renders inapplicable or unpersuasive the evidence on which the district court relies.”
Willett said the lower court sided with the DOJ, saying that the barrier threatened human life and safety, impaired navigation, and violated the Rivers and Harbors Act. He said that neither justification was supported by the evidence. 
The decision specifically criticized the district court attributing the barrier to drownings in the river. 
&#8220;The district court again set aside reason by inferring that the barrier caused the deaths of two people found nearby—one at the southern end of the barrier and the other three miles upriver — from news articles that said nothing of the sort,” Willett wrote.
In a dissent, Circuit Judge Dana Douglas wrote that the lower court&#8217;s decision was backed by the evidence.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Republican Governor Greg Abbott celebrated the decision.
“We fought to keep these barriers in the water, and with the Fifth Circuit&#8217;s decision, that is exactly where they will remain,” Abbott said. “This fight is far from over. Texas will continue to defend our constitutional right to secure our southern border to keep our state and the nation safe.”
Further litigation on the barriers is expected to begin on August 6.

The illegal immigrant who shot and wounded a Texas cop had a deportation order against him after he entered the country last year.
Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez, 25, unlawfully crossed America’s southern border in November 2023 along with nearly 600 other immigrants, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/07/29/us-news/illegal-migrant-responsible-for-shooting-of-texas-cop/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=nypost" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, citing a Homeland Security source. When he was captured, the process began for an “expedited removal,” but he claimed he was afraid of persecution in his home country of Venezuela and was sent before an asylum officer.
That officer reportedly rejected Chacon-Gutierrez’s claim of persecution and continued to process him for removal, but he asked to see an immigration judge to make his asylum claim. The asylum judge then vacated the order of removal against Chacon-Gutierrez and allowed his asylum case to continue.
Chacon-Gutierrez was able to stay in the country while waiting for his case to continue. His court date was set for April 2026. But on Sunday, he got into <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-immigrant-shoots-texas-police-officer-after-being-released-by-border-patrol-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a shootout</a> with San Antonio, Texas, police officers.
Officers from the San Antonio Police Department responded to a domestic violence call around 3 in the morning.
“When officers arrived, they learned that a female victim had been assaulted by her boyfriend,” SAPD Chief William McManus said. “When officers went into the apartment, he was lying in bed with a rifle by his side.”
A SWAT team entered the apartment and a shootout began, according to law enforcement, with Chacon-Gutierrez shooting and injuring one officer. Police say the suspect fired the first shots. Ultimately, Chacon-Gutierrez ended up dead, but it is unclear whether he was shot by police or committed suicide, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/illegal-migrant-shoots-texas-police-officer-rifle-after-domestic-violence-call-sources-say" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
The wounded officer is expected to survive after she received surgery on Sunday.
Chacon-Gutierrez’s girlfriend, who told police he had assaulted her, was not seriously injured, police said.
Last week, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning “the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, Kamala Harris’s, failure to secure the United States border.” Six Democrats also voted for the resolution.
Former President Donald Trump has said he would have “no choice” but to begin mass deportations if he were to be elected again.
“We have no choice, we have to get the criminals out,” Trump told Fox News’ Jesse Watters. “These are murderers. These are drug dealers. These are people that will take women and put them in the trunk of a car and sell them to the highest bidder, they’ll come across the border, human traffickers. A Texas police officer was shot multiple times on Sunday during a shootout with a 25-year-old Venezuelan national who entered the U.S. illegally and had been released by Border Patrol, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/illegal-migrant-shoots-texas-police-officer-rifle-after-domestic-violence-call-sources-say" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
The shootout began after officers from the San Antonio Police Department responded to a domestic violence call around 3 a.m. and ended with the suspect, Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez, dead, and an officer wounded. The officer is expected to survive after undergoing surgery on Sunday.
It was unclear if the suspect was killed by return fire from police or if he committed suicide, according to Fox News. Chacon-Gutierrez illegally entered the U.S. in November 2023 and was apprehended by Border Patrol in Eagle Pass, Texas, according to law enforcement officials. He was then released into the country with a court date set for April 2026.

Last week, Trump told Fox News host Jesse Watters that he would have &#8220;no choice&#8221; but to conduct mass deportations if he took back the White House.
