Billionaire tech executive <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elon Musk</a> shot back at the United Auto Works (UAW) on Tuesday after the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/labor-unions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">union</a> filed labor charges against him and former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a>.
During the Monday evening discussion <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-attacks-elon-as-lackey-for-team-maga-team-trump-fires-back-during-x-spaces-chat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">on X Spaces</a>, Trump <a href="https://x.com/RealSaavedra/status/1823197760830451955" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> Musk &#8220;the greatest cutter&#8221; and touted him as someone who fires employees going on strike. Musk laughed and responded, &#8220;Yeah,&#8221; as Trump spoke.
Although he declined to mention a specific company, CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/13/musk-trump-uaw-labor-union-x-interview.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Trump had been referring to a time when Musk <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-stressful-situation-elon-musk-has-fired-more-than-80-of-twitter-staff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fired a great deal of the staff</a> at Twitter, the social media platform he purchased in 2022 and rebranded as X.
The UAW, in response to the exchange, <a href="https://uaw.org/uaw-files-federal-labor-charges-against-donald-trump-and-elon-musk-for-attempting-to-intimidate-and-threaten-workers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that it had filed federal labor charges against Musk and Trump for allegedly making illegal attempts to threaten and intimidate workers engaging in protected activity.
CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/13/business/uaw-trump-musk-charges/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) would investigate the labor union&#8217;s charges and could help settle the case if wrongdoing is found, and might even sue Trump and Musk on behalf of UAW.

Gary Jones and Dennis Williams are two former UAW presidents who <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/10/second-uaw-president-sentenced-to-prison-in-union-corruption-probe.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received prison time</a> for a corruption scheme; however, they are not Fain&#8217;s direct predecessors in leading the union.
The UAW recently <a href="https://uaw.org/everything-the-working-class-has-ever-won-weve-had-to-fight-for-uaw-releases-new-video-endorsing-kamala-harris-for-president/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed</a> Trump&#8217;s rival in the 2024 race, Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a>. Earlier this year, Trump said Fain should be fired and insisted that <a href="https://www.wxyz.com/news/trump-says-uaw-president-shawn-fain-should-be-fired-fain-fires-back" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;every single&#8221;</a> auto worker should be voting for him.
Musk, whose other companies, <a href="https://fortune.com/2023/11/27/tesla-sweden-lawsuit-labor-unions-postal-workers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tesla</a> and <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2024/02/16/amazon-and-spacex-are-quietly-trying-to-demolish-national-labor-law/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SpaceX,</a> have clashed with the NLRB and Big Labor, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musk-bill-ackman-endorse-trump-after-left-wing-donor-attempts-assassination" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed</a> Trump last month after the former president survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
The comment about firing employees came up during the X Spaces talk on Monday, right after Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-hed-love-to-have-elon-musk-lead-new-proposed-government-commission" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said he would &#8220;love&#8221;</a> for Musk to help out with a prospective Government Efficiency Commission to cut wasteful spending.

Jordan B. Peterson: I&#8217;m very curious about your intuition. How did you cotton onto the fact that that antagonistic attitude towards birth that&#8217;s embedded in our culture now was something that should be called out and that was pathological?
Elon Musk: I should perhaps go back to what is the foundation of my philosophy because that, I think, helps build up to explain my actions. When I was, I don&#8217;t know, about 11- or 12-years-old, I had somewhat of an existential crisis because there just didn&#8217;t seem to be any meaning in the world, no meaning to life. So I actually read, tried to read, all the religious texts.
Peterson: At that age?
Musk: Yes, I was a voracious reader as a kid. So, I obviously read the Bible. I read the Quran, the Torah, a bit on the Hindu side, just trying to understand all these things. Obviously as a 12-year-old, you&#8217;re not really going to understand these things super well.
Peterson: Well, you understood it well enough to have an existential crisis when you were 11 or 12. That’s a start.
Musk: I was just trying to figure out, does anyone have an answer that makes sense? And then I started getting into the philosophy books, and I read quite a bit of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, which is quite depressing to read as a kid. That’s depressing as an adult. But none of them really seemed to have answers that resonated, at least to me. But then I read Douglas Adams’ “The Hitchhiker&#8217;s Guide to the Galaxy,” which is really a book on philosophy disguised as humor. And the point that Adams tries to make there is that we don&#8217;t actually know all the answers, obviously. In fact, we don&#8217;t even know what the right questions are to ask. That&#8217;s where he has this, if you read the book, the Earth is actually a giant computer to understand the answer to the question, “What is the meaning of life?” and comes up with the answer 42. And what does that mean? It says, oh, you actually don&#8217;t understand; the thing [is], that&#8217;s going to take a computer far more powerful than Earth to understand what question to ask. That&#8217;s simply the wrong question.
Peterson: So was that the key realization? That the question was the thing?
Musk: I would say that that was a fundamental turning point.
Peterson: That&#8217;s very interesting because one of the things that you see constantly portrayed in Redemptive Hero myths across the world is that the adventure is the thing and the search is the thing, rather than there being a final answer as absurd as 42 might be. The conclusive answer is something like deep engagement in the process. So I&#8217;ll give you an example of that. The Sermon on the Mount is a very detailed set of instructions, so there&#8217;s three parts to it. The first is: Aim at the highest thing that you can possibly conceive of and keep modifying that so your aim gets better. That&#8217;s number one. Number two is: Make the presumption that other people have the same intrinsic value as you do.
Musk: Well, we have to be careful about that one.
Peterson: Ok, let&#8217;s discuss that. But it&#8217;s — what would you say — it&#8217;s a recognition of the universalist value of everyone who&#8217;s made in the image of God. It’s something like that. But the third thing is, once you do those two things, you can concentrate on the moment. And that seems to be, even technically, you can think about this as neuropsychological. If you&#8217;re looking for meaning, meaning is a form of incentive reward. An incentive reward is dopaminergic mediated. And incentive reward occurs in relationship to advancement toward a goal, which is a form of entropy minimization, as it turns out, according to Karl Friston, who knows this sort of thing. 
Musk: Entropy is the ultimate boss battle.

Peterson: Yes, right. Well, negative emotion signifies the emergence of entropy and positive emotion, on the dopaminergic side, signals its reduction. But there&#8217;s something that&#8217;s more complex there, because the higher the goal that you&#8217;re trying to attain, the more intrinsic value each step toward it comprises. And that&#8217;s neuro-psychologically accurate. So part of the wisdom of the Sermon on the Mount is that if you posit the highest imaginable goal, then any step toward it that captures your attention is also deeply meaningful. That&#8217;s an answer to what the meaning is — a process — rather than, say, something like 42. It seems to me that you were intimating that your discovery through Adams, that the question was the thing, was key to the resolution of your existential crisis.
Musk: That&#8217;s correct.
Peterson: Ok, so that&#8217;s part of the reason that you&#8217;re motivated to, say, build Grok 3 and look deeper.
Musk: To understand. To understand the universe.
Peterson: How old were you when you figured out that the question—?
Musk: 13 or something.
Peterson: What did that do to you?
Musk: Well, I was a lot happier after that because now it&#8217;s like, ok, well, I&#8217;m just going to accept that we are ignorant of a great many things, and we wish to be less ignorant. And anything we can do that will improve our understanding of the universe and make us less ignorant and have a deeper understanding of the universe, and even more questions to ask about the answer that is the universe, which is, I think, Adams’ central point, is good.
Peterson: And that was good enough to resolve that crisis?
Musk: It was. It was for me at least. And so, is this a religion? I don&#8217;t know. Maybe it is, but I think it&#8217;s a good one. I would call it the Religion of Curiosity.

Billionaire Tesla owner Elon Musk accused Reuters of lying after the outlet <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-tesla-scraps-low-cost-150726195.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Friday that Tesla scrapped its plans to make low-cost electric vehicles and will focus on developing robo-taxis.
Reuters, which cited multiple anonymous sources and “company messages,” wrote that Tesla was abandoning its promise to begin producing cheaper EVs as soon as 2025. After the report was published, Tesla’s stock <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-04-05/tesla-plans-to-cancel-low-cost-ev-reuters-report-says?srnd=all" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dropped</a> by as much as 6.2% before it began to make a small climb back toward where it opened on Friday just shy of $170 per share.

Later, Musk reposted a chart showing the decrease in Reuters&#8217; monthly and yearly website traffic.
“Reuters is dying,” the Tesla owner <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1776275139010904525" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>.
Since as far back as 2018, billionaire Tesla owner Elon Musk has <a href="https://www.theverge.com/24054854/tesla-next-generation-vehicle-ev-elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the company would move into making “a $25,000 car,” which has been called the Model 2. In January, the billionaire entrepreneur added that his company was “very far along” in making an affordable car, Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-04-05/tesla-plans-to-cancel-low-cost-ev-reuters-report-says?srnd=all" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Currently, Tesla’s cheapest vehicle, the Model 3, retails for nearly $40,000 in the U.S. while other EVs in its lineup can cost up to $150,000.
Reuters wrote that “Two sources said they learned of Tesla&#8217;s decision to scrap the Model 2 in a meeting attended by scores of employees, with one of them saying the gathering happened in late February.”
“Elon’s directive is to go all in on robotaxi,” one person said, according to the outlet.

Other car companies, such as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ford-delays-production-of-new-electric-vehicles-by-years-as-consumers-sour-on-evs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ford</a> and <a href="https://www.wsj.com/business/autos/general-motors-gm-q3-earnings-report-2023-5064f4c2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GM</a>, have recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ford-to-slash-planned-production-of-its-all-electric-f-150-in-half-citing-changing-market-demand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scaled back</a> or delayed their plans to produce more EVs as consumer demand has failed to meet expectations while the Biden administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-buttigieg-mocks-people-who-dont-want-electric-vehicles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continues to push</a> Americans to move away from gas-powered cars.
After the Reuters report, Musk also responded with the eyes emoji — often used to draw attention to something — under a post that laid out a potential explanation for the story.
“Elon just said Reuters was lying. However, here is my general thinking. Tesla&#8217;s low-cost $25k car and the Robotaxi were always going to be based on the same platform. They were going to be very similar, but the $25k version was going to have a steering wheel,” wrote Sawyer Merritt, a co-founder of an apparel company.
“Maybe Elon and the team have been so impressed with how good FSD 12 has performed and were maybe thinking they should be shifting even more resources to the Robotaxi/FSD effort,” Merritt added. “This doesn&#8217;t mean the $25k car is canceled. Again, they share the same platform.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ford-motor-co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ford Motor Co.</a> announced on Thursday that it is delaying the production of two new electric vehicles and that it will instead focus on making more hybrid vehicles as consumer demand for electric vehicles continues to plummet.
The launch of at least two new three-row electric vehicles will be delayed from 2025 to 2027, the company said in a statement.
&#8220;The additional time will allow for the consumer market for three-row EVs to further develop and enable Ford to take advantage of emerging battery technology,&#8221; the company claimed.
&#8220;In parallel, Ford is expanding its hybrid electric vehicle offerings,&#8221; the company said. &#8220;By the end of the decade, the company expects to offer hybrid powertrains across its entire Ford Blue lineup in North America.&#8221;
The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/04/business/ford-delays-electric-vehicles.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>:
<blockquote>Ford’s electric vehicle business lost $4.7 billion before interest and taxes in 2023. By contrast, the division that makes gasoline and hybrid vehicles for consumers made a $7.5 billion profit.</blockquote>
“Many companies rushed in too fast with E.V.s that were too expensive and there was not as much of a market for them as they thought,” Sam Abuelsamid, principal analyst for transportation and mobility at the research firm Guidehouse Insights, told the Times. “That’s made it a lot tougher to sell those vehicles.”

Former President Donald Trump has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-campaign-vows-to-reverse-bidens-new-extreme-electric-vehicle-mandate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vowed</a> to undo President Joe Biden&#8217;s electric vehicle mandate if he is re-elected this fall.
“Joe Biden’s extreme electric vehicle mandate will force Americans to buy ultra-expensive cars they do not want and cannot afford while destroying the U.S. auto industry in the process,” a Trump campaign spokesperson said in a statement. “This radical policy is anti-jobs, anti-consumer, and anti-American. It will destroy the livelihoods of countless U.S. autoworkers while sending the U.S. auto industry to China.”

Buttigieg made the remarks during a Tuesday Fox News interview on &#8220;America&#8217;s Newsroom&#8221; when asked about the struggling electric vehicle market.
&#8220;Tesla sales fell 8.5% the first quarter of this year,&#8221; said co-host John Roberts. &#8220;Ford this week is laying off two thirds of its workforce at the F-150 electric lightning plant. It&#8217;s also scaling back a battery production facility because of sagging sales.&#8221;
&#8220;EV sales are nowhere near what this president wanted or expected, yet the administration continues to shove them down consumers throats,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Why?&#8221;
Buttigieg claimed that it was &#8220;clear&#8221; that consumers want to purchase EVs as he proceeded to dismiss Tesla&#8217;s slowing numbers.

Tesla was forced to stop production at its assembly plant in Germany this week after a far-left extremist group destroyed a high-voltage pylon that resulted in electricity going down at the plant and the surrounding area.
<a href="https://www.dw.com/en/germany-tesla-gigafactory-hit-by-far-left-sabotage/a-68440976">Deutsche Welle</a>, a German public state-owned international broadcaster, said that the &#8220;Volcano Group&#8221; was responsible for the attack on the power grid.
&#8220;We sabotaged Tesla today,&#8221; the extremist group said in a letter, noting that it specifically targeted &#8220;the electricity supply.&#8221;
Police in Brandenburg said that the terrorist attack cut power to thousands of homes in the surrounding region, impacting approximately 60,000 people. Power was restored to most of the area later in the day but the power remained down at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Grünheide.
Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck said: “The attack on the electricity supply is an attack on our critical infrastructure. This must now be clarified and punished quickly. Violence and sabotage must not be a means of conflict.”
Tesla reportedly indicated that production at the plant will not restart quickly following the attack. The automaker has the ability to produce 500,000 vehicles per year, a number that Tesla CEO Elon Musk reportedly wants to double.
&#8220;These are either the dumbest eco-terrorists on Earth or they’re puppets of those who don’t have good environmental goals,&#8221; Musk <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1764998660406845620">said</a> in response to the attacks. &#8220;Stopping production of electric vehicles, rather than fossil fuel vehicles, ist extrem dumm.&#8221;
&#8220;Ist extrem dumm&#8221; is German for &#8220;is extremely dumb.&#8221;
German news media reported that the damage to Tesla will be in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
“We are deeply, deeply shocked by what happened today,” said Tesla representative André Thierig. “Hopefully it will become clear over the course of this week whether we can start again at the beginning of next week.”

Elon Musk announced Wednesday that he had officially moved SpaceX&#8217;s incorporation from Delaware to Texas — where his electric vehicle company Tesla is headquartered.
Musk announced the decision on Wednesday at the same time as he urged other businesses to get out of Delaware. His decision comes after a judge in Delaware <a href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/judge-rules-favor-plaintiffs-challenging-musks-tesla-pay-package-2024-01-30/#:~:text=The%20pay%20package%20granted%20stock,escalating%20financial%20and%20operational%20goals.">sided</a> with a Tesla shareholder complaint that Musk’s compensation package was unfair.

Musk has also proposed incorporating Tesla in Texas, which he has suggested will happen after a shareholder vote. The electric vehicle maker <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/07/business/tesla-texas-headquarters.html">relocated</a> its headquarters from California to Austin, Texas, in 2021.

McCormick said the deal was negotiated in a &#8220;deeply flawed&#8221; manner.

Last week, Musk <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/musks-neuralink-switches-location-incorporation-bloomberg-news-2024-02-09/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">moved</a> incorporation of Neuralink, his neurotechnology company, from Delaware to Nevada. The move came after Neuralink <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musks-neuralink-implants-chip-into-brain-of-first-human-subject" target="_blank" rel="noopener">successfully implanted</a> a brain chip into its first human subject.
The Neuralink brain implant is a “brain-computer interface” technology that seeks to help people with debilitating conditions, such as paralysis, to interact with the world by controlling devices with their thoughts, The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/tech/elon-musk-says-neuralink-has-implanted-brain-chip-in-human-127a6f56">reported</a>. Musk, who founded Neuralink along with a team of scientists in 2016, said the first patient received the implant on Sunday and “is recovering well.”
The billionaire entrepreneur has faced a series of investigations into his ventures from the Department of Justice and the SEC after he acquired Twitter in October 2022.

Mainstream news organizations mounted attacks against <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tesla" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tesla</a> on Wednesday in an apparent attempt to damage Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who also heads several other large companies.
The primary attack centered around a so-called &#8220;recall&#8221; that Tesla had to issue to nearly every vehicle that it has sold in the U.S. since 2012, more than two million overall. The move comes after U.S. regulators have looked into the company&#8217;s Autopilot system and its role in some accidents that have happened across the U.S. over the last several years.
A report from The New York Times was emblematic of the way that the media covered the story as the newspaper <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/13/business/tesla-autopilot-recall.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claimed</a> that Tesla&#8217;s &#8220;reputation for making technologically advanced cars suffered a blow&#8221; as a result of the recall.
It wasn&#8217;t until deep in the Times&#8217; report that the newspaper informed readers that the &#8220;recall&#8221; was not really a recall in the traditional sense, i.e. customers have to schedule a time to bring their vehicle to a Tesla facility to be serviced.
Instead, the world&#8217;s leading electric car manufacturer is automatically sending out wireless updates to all of its cars through cellular networks that will include updates that will hopefully satisfy regulators, including new warnings and checks to ensure that drivers are paying attention on the road.
Tesla cites data that it says show its Autopilot system, while it may have been involved in some accidents, actually makes its vehicles safer and says that it is &#8220;morally indefensible not to make these systems available to a wider set of consumers, given the incontrovertible data that shows it is saving lives and preventing injury.&#8221;
&#8220;In the 4th quarter of 2022, we recorded one crash for every 4.85 million miles driven in which drivers were using Autopilot technology,&#8221; Tesla <a href="https://twitter.com/Tesla/status/1734374558105293081" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement. &#8220;For drivers who were not using Autopilot technology, we recorded one crash for every 1.40 million miles driven. By comparison, the most recent data available from NHTSA and FHWA (from 2021) shows that in the United States there was an automobile crash approximately every 652,000 miles.&#8221;
The media&#8217;s attacks against Musk and his companies have increased sharply ever since Twitter, which now goes by X, accepted Musk&#8217;s buyout offer in April 2022. This is in large part due to the fact that many of the narratives that end up driving the news, and thus policy, take shape on the platform. With Musk now in control of the platform, the targeting of mostly conservative accounts on the platform has stopped.

Another example of the media distorting facts to attack Tesla can be found in an NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/pedestrians-already-dying-record-levels-now-face-elon-musks-cybertruck-rcna128603" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> that was also published on Wednesday.
The report said that Tesla&#8217;s new cybertruck will be &#8220;deadlier&#8221; than other vehicles because it&#8217;s a &#8220;6,800-pound electric behemoth with sports-car acceleration that experts say will be lethal to pedestrians and occupants of lighter vehicles.&#8221;
The far-left news organization cited &#8220;experts&#8221; to back up the narrative the report was promoting, but key information was excluded from the report, mainly that the Cybertruck is perhaps the lightest weight electric truck to be produced.
Car and Driver lists the current top electric trucks — all of which are fast — that are being delivered to customers as the Rivian R1T, 7,173 pounds; Ford F-150 Lightning, 6,855 pounds; Chevrolet Silverado EV, 8,500 pounds; and the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, 9,640 pounds.
None of that information was included in NBC News&#8217; report.

Media Launches Attacks On Tesla In Apparent Bid To Damage Elon Musk

A man was arrested late last week for planning a &#8220;mass casualty event&#8221; at Tesla&#8217;s headquarters in Texas during an event to celebrate the much anticipated release of the electric car company&#8217;s new Cybertruck, according to law enforcement officials.
A SWAT team tracked down and arrested 28-year-old Paul Ryan Overeem at a McDonald’s parking lot and arrested him after he allegedly threatened to attack the event in messages he wrote on social media.
Tesla was notified on November 10 about the messages and they subsequently contacted local law enforcement officials who then began investigating, according to the <a href="https://www.statesman.com/story/news/crime/2023/11/30/police-florida-man-threatened-mass-casualty-event-at-tesla-in-austin/71759521007/">Austin American-Statesman</a>.
Overeem allegedly <a href="https://kutv.com/news/nation-world/florida-man-arrested-in-texas-after-allegedly-threatening-mass-casualty-event-at-tesla-event-paul-ryan-overeem-terroristic-threat-charges-elon-musk-shooting-threats-shivon-zilis-swat-officers-police-investigation">wrote</a> the following messages on Instagram:

When SWAT officers arrested him, he allegedly said that he had weapons in his car and that he was going to commit suicide before he could be arrested. &#8220;I was going to shoot up Elon Musk and the plant,&#8221; he said.
The suspect was charged in Travis County on suspicion of making a terrorist threat, a third-degree felony. He is being held in jail after not posting the $300,000 bond.

President Joe Biden&#8217;s Department of Justice faced backlash this week after a new report revealed that federal prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation into whether Tesla CEO Elon Musk — who is an opponent of the administration — may have received personal benefits from Tesla that the company failed to disclose.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has convened a federal grand jury as it scrutinizes the alleged personal benefits dating all the way back to 2017.
The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/tech/justice-department-probe-scrutinizes-elon-musk-perks-at-tesla-going-back-years-3493e321" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the investigation centers in-part around a secret project inside the company known as “Project 42,” which was an alleged plan to build a home for Musk constructed out of large-format glass panels.
Musk suggested on X — the social media site formerly known as Twitter, which he bought last October — earlier this month that the plan never existed.

Despite being the world&#8217;s richest man, Musk does not own a lot of material possessions, having previously <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/elon-musk-has-sold-seven-homes-for-nearly-130-million-after-vowing-to-own-no-house-11646927878" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sold</a> all seven of his homes in California for roughly $127.9 million and vowing to &#8220;own no house.&#8221;

FABER: Okay, but why share it? Why share it especially, I mean, why share it when people who buy Teslas may not agree with you, advertisers on Twitter may not agree with you. Why not just say, hey, I think this. You can tell me, we can talk about it over there. And you can tell your friends, but why share it widely?
MUSK: I mean, there’s freedom of speech. I’m allowed to say what I want to—
FABER: You absolutely are, but I’m trying to understand why you do because you have to know it’s gotta there, it puts you in a, in the middle of the partisan divide in the country. It makes you a lightning rod for criticism. I mean, do you like that? You know, people today saying he’s an anti-Semite. I don’t think you are.
MUSK: No, I’m definitely not. I’m like, I’m like a pro-semite, if anything.
FABER: I believe that probably is the case.
MUSK: Yes.
FABER: But why would you even introduce the idea then that would be the case.
MUSK: I mean, it looks [like] we want to make this a George Soros interview.
FABER: No, god, no, I don’t want to at all. But what I’m trying, it even came up though in the annual meeting, I mean, you know, do your tweets hurt the company? Are there Tesla owners who say, I don’t agree with his political position because and I know it because he shares so much of it. Or are there advertisers on Twitter that Linda Yaccarino will come and say, you got to stop man or, you know, I can’t get these ads because of some of the things you tweet.
MUSK: You know, I’m reminded of a scene in “The Princess Bride.” Great movie.
FABER: Great movie.
MUSK: Where he confronts the person who killed his father. And he says, “Offer me money. Offer me power. I don’t care.”
FABER: So, you just don’t care. You want to share what you have to say?
MUSK: I’ll say what I want to say, and if the consequence of that is losing money, so be it.</blockquote>

Musk Doubles Down On George Soros Remark: ‘I’ll Say What I Want To Say’ And If I Lose Money, ‘So Be It’

Twitter owner Elon Musk slammed a subpoena from the U.S. Virgin Islands on Monday that is demanding that he turn over alleged documents that the government apparently wants to use in its lawsuit accusing JPMorgan Chase of financially benefiting from Jeffrey Epstein&#8217;s sex trafficking operation.
The subpoena requested communications between Musk and JPMorgan regarding Epstein and any information on whether Epstein played any role in any of Musk&#8217;s companies, CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/15/business/elon-musk-jeffrey-epstein-virgin-islands-subpoena/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. It also requested any documents regarding fees paid to Epstein or JPMorgan, or any documents regarding Epstein’s sex trafficking ring. Musk is not being implicated in any wrongdoing, according to the outlet.
The only reported contact that Musk ever had with Epstein happened in 2019, according to a <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/07/jeffrey-epstein-case-grows-more-grotesque" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> from that year that Musk gave to Vanity Fair.
“I don’t recall introducing Epstein to anyone, as I don’t know the guy well enough to do so, Epstein is obviously a creep,&#8221; Musk said in-part. &#8220;Several years ago, I was at his house in Manhattan for about 30 minutes in the middle of the afternoon with [ex-wife] Talulah [Riley], as she was curious about meeting this strange person for a novel she was writing. We did not see anything inappropriate at all, apart from weird art. He tried repeatedly to get me to visit his island. I declined.”
The Virgin Islands reportedly had difficulty finding Musk to deliver him the subpoena, according to a filing with the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
“The Government contacted Mr. Musk’s counsel via email to ask if he would be authorized to accept service on Mr. Musk’s behalf in this matter but did not receive a response confirming or denying his authority,” the filing said.
Musk mocked the news on Twitter, writing: &#8220;This is idiotic on so many levels: 1. That cretin never advised me on anything whatsoever. 2. The notion that I would need or listen to financial advice from a dumb crook is absurd. 3. JPM let Tesla down ten years ago, despite having Tesla’s global commercial banking business, which we then withdrew. I have never forgiven them.&#8221;
