A man from Sudan was arrested after being caught on video apparently attempting to behead another man in the streets of Northern Ireland.  
Law enforcement identified a Sudanese national as the man shown in an extremely <a href="https://x.com/TPointUK/status/2064116183012429857">graphic video</a> pinning another man down and repeatedly stabbing the victim in the face and neck in the streets of Belfast. Bystanders stepped in and attempted to wrestle the man off the victim.

“He’s trying to cut his head off!” a person can be heard shouting in the video. 
The man was arrested on attempted murder charges, but authorities have yet to release his name. The victim, identified as a man in his 40s, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. 
Police first identified the attacker as a man from Somalia, but later determined he was from Sudan. Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson said that his &#8220;understanding is the individual was given leave to remain in Northern Ireland,” <a href="https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/area/north-belfast-newtownabbey/north-belfast/north-belfast-attempted-beheading-police-tell-media-briefing-suspect-given-leave-to-remain-in-ni-and-attack-not-terror-related/a/156285563.html">according</a> to the Belfast Telegraph. 
Nigel Farage, the leader of the conservative Reform UK party, called for full transparency over the attack. Farage has been a critic of mass migration into the United Kingdom and has called for a freeze on immigration. 
“What happened in Belfast last night is horrific,” he <a href="https://x.com/Nigel_Farage/status/2064251817630863694">said</a>. “The authorities must reveal the identity and status of the attacker immediately. The public are entitled to the truth.”
In the wake of the brutal stabbing, Northern Ireland Justice Minister Naomi Long said she was scared about backlash to minorities and said the attack should not be used to fuel “dangerous narratives.” 
&#8220;I also know there are many people in our community people from ethnic minority backgrounds who are terrified today about any kind of retaliation or backlash against them, which we have seen in the past,&#8221; she told the BBC. 
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attack, but did not note the identity or origin of the suspect. 
“The horrific attack in Belfast last night is sickening,” <a href="https://x.com/Keir_Starmer/status/2064273082580140525">said</a> Starmer. “I have absolutely no tolerance for abhorrent scenes of violence like this on our streets. My thoughts are first and foremost with the victim, and I thank the first responders, including members of the public who intervened.”
Hilary Benn, the secretary of state for Northern Ireland, told people to remain “calm” while the investigation into the attack played out. 
“The attack last night in Belfast was deeply shocking and all our thoughts are with the victim, who is seriously injured in hospital, and with his loved ones,” he <a href="https://x.com/hilarybennmp/status/2064290080303227131">said</a>. “I would like to thank the individuals who showed extraordinary bravery in coming to his aid.”
Immigration has long been a controversial issue in the United Kingdom as protesters urge an end to mass immigration from third-world countries. Protesters <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/protestants-catholics-march-together-in-belfast-anti-immigration-protest">took</a> to the streets in Ireland two years ago after another stabbing linked to immigration.

The Trump administration designated another branch of the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization Monday, marking its fourth such designation in an effort to curb the Islamic extremist group active throughout the world.
The designation targets the Muslim Brotherhood’s Sudanese chapter, whose fighters the Trump administration says received training from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and carried out mass executions.
The State Department said the Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood — composed of the Sudanese Islamic Movement and its armed wing, the al-Baraa Bin Malik Brigade (BBMB) — uses “unrestrained violence against civilians” to advance its violent Islamist ideology and undermine efforts to resolve the conflict in Sudan.
In January, the Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-designates-three-muslim-brotherhood-branches-as-terrorist-organizations">designated</a> three branches of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organizations, including affiliates in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt.
The Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan was designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) and the administration said it intends to classify the group as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), the most severe designation, which criminalizes providing material support under federal law. The SDGT designation allows the Treasury Department to freeze assets and block financial transactions.
“The Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood uses unrestrained violence against civilians to undermine efforts to resolve the conflict in Sudan and advance its violent Islamist ideology,” the State Department said. 
The group contributed more than 20,000 fighters to Sudan’s civil war, which has displaced about 12 million people and may have caused as many as 400,000 deaths, <a href="https://www.cfr.org/global-conflict-tracker/conflict/power-struggle-sudan">according to</a> the former U.S. envoy to Sudan.
According to the State Department, many of the fighters received training and other support from the IRGC, and members of the BBMB have carried out mass executions of civilians in captured areas, including killings based on race, ethnicity, or suspected affiliation with opposition groups.
“Its fighters, many receiving training and other support from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have conducted mass executions of civilians,” the statement added. “As the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, the Iranian regime has financed and directed malign activities globally through its IRGC.”
It added that the U.S. will continue to “use all available tools to deprive the Iranian regime and Muslim Brotherhood chapters of the resources to engage in or support terrorism.”
The Treasury Department previously designated BBMB in September 2025 under Executive Order 14098 for its role in Sudan’s brutal civil war.
Under the new designation, all property and financial interests belonging to the Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood that fall within U.S. jurisdiction are blocked and U.S. citizens and businesses are prohibited from conducting transactions with the organization.
The State Department warned that foreign individuals or companies that engage in certain dealings with the group could also face secondary sanctions under U.S. counterterrorism authorities.
The designation is scheduled to take effect on March 16.
The designation follows Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/desantis-joins-texas-in-designating-cair-and-muslim-brotherhood-as-terrorist-organizations">issuing</a> state-level orders in late 2025 labeling the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations. 
CAIR, which describes itself as the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group in the United States, responded by suing both states and denying that it supports terrorism. After DeSantis issued his order, the group accused the Florida governor of being “Israel first.”
The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna, an Islamist schoolteacher who sought to build a movement dedicated to implementing Islamic law and resisting Western influence in the Muslim world. It is one of the most influential movements in the Middle East and Africa, and has spawned terrorist groups, including Hamas.

Christians around the globe are facing a genocide. And while President Donald Trump champions religious liberty in Syria after hosting the former al-Qaeda fighter-turned-president, Ahmad al-Sharaa, and declares <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/2025/11/trump-deserves-credit-for-focus-on-nigerian-christians/">Nigeria</a> a “country of particular concern” because of the slaughter of Christians, we cannot be naive.
Christian persecution is already here in America. Our nation is becoming a dangerous place for faithful believers to live.
We must stand up now for the persecuted not only as individuals but as a united front for our brothers and sisters around the world.
Policymakers, churches, and ordinary citizens have a moral responsibility to ensure our nation remains a beacon of hope and freedom for all, especially those persecuted for their faith.
I know something about persecution and the price of freedom. I grew up in Communist Romania, where the freedoms we now experience in America were stolen from its citizens. Speaking the truth meant imprisonment, torture, and even death. The government sought to control every thought, every word, every breath. That’s why I became a political refugee and found a new home in America in 1988.
A <a href="https://www.cato.org/blog/new-poll-74-worry-americans-could-lose-our-freedoms-were-not-careful">2024 Cato Institute survey</a> found that nearly 74% of Americans worry that if we’re not careful, Americans could lose their God-given freedoms and liberties. An out-of-control regime can gradually build persecution against Christians, making small, incremental changes that could go unnoticed until it is too late. I know. I lived it.
In Communist Romania, Nicolae Ceaușescu’s regime controlled religious organizations by appointing loyal leaders, restricting activities, and nationalizing properties. Atheism was promoted through education and propaganda, portraying Christianity as outdated. Religious groups faced pressure to align with state policies, with non-compliance leading to imprisonment, job loss, or death.
The legacy of this persecution continues to shape the religious landscape in Romania today.
While the extent and nature of persecution differ significantly between Communist regimes and contemporary American society, there are parallels in the experiences of marginalization, pressure to conform, and struggles for expression. The challenges faced by Christians today often manifest initially in social and cultural pressures rather than outright physical persecution. And we are beginning to see signs of it here.
That’s why I’m joining the “<a href="https://www.washingtonpolicyinstitute.org/events/persecuted-and-prevailing-addressing-christian-persecution-in-the-modern-world/">Persecuted and Prevailing”</a> panel on December 4, 2025, at the Museum of the Bible to promote the truth, amplify our voices, and push for legislative action to support Christians.
As a human rights attorney in Communist Romania, I defended Christians, experiencing firsthand America’s crucial support. Congressmen Frank Wolf and Christopher Smith met with me often to discuss my cases, raising awareness among U.S. policymakers and the public about Romania’s dire situation. Their efforts drew media attention to the plight of Romanian Christians under the thumb of Communism, creating urgency for supporting persecuted believers.
Wolf’s actions shaped U.S. foreign policy to prioritize religious freedom, and the global impact included co-sponsoring the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/114/plaws/publ281/PLAW-114publ281.pdf">International Religious Freedom Act</a> (IRFA) of 1998, which established a framework to combat religious persecution worldwide and monitor and recommend policies. The Congressman also backed resolutions condemning persecution in Iran, Sudan, North Korea, and China, reinforcing human rights as a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy.
Now it’s our turn to carry the torch forward. Citizens who have the freedom to advocate for change must pressure policymakers to strengthen global religious liberty.
We are the voice for the persecuted who suffer in silence worldwide. If we fail to speak about oppression, like what I and many others endured in communist Romania, it will most certainly take root here. This generation needs to understand the fragile nature of freedom and the courage it takes to preserve it.
Using our voice and Constitutional rights to petition our government is the only way to protect our freedom and stand for truth. If we don’t use our voice today, we risk being silenced tomorrow.
When truth is distorted, freedom fades. Pray for discernment in a world clouded by lies. Live boldly, speak the truth in love, for true freedom flows from God’s presence, which has been with America since its founding. Remember, if God’s presence fades, so will our freedom.

For decades, Christians in Africa have faced intense persecution at the hands of Islamic extremists. That persecution has especially focused on Christians in Nigeria and Sudan, two war-torn nations that President Donald Trump now wants to address.
Last month, Trump designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, saying that &#8220;Christianity is facing an existential threat.&#8221; Then, last week, the president vowed to take more action to end the civil war in Sudan. Both countries are in the midst of upheaval and have large Christian populations, whose faith puts a target on their backs.
Trump&#8217;s <a href="https://www.state.gov/frequently-asked-questions-irf-report-and-countries-of-particular-concern">designation</a> of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern means that the United States will seek to actively address Nigeria&#8217;s violations of religious freedom and opens the door to potential economic penalties.
“When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!&#8221; Trump said.
For Nigerian Christians, the Country of Particular Concern designation could be a useful tool to push the Nigerian government to take more action to protect Christians from Islamic extremists, according to Ryan Brown, CEO of Open Doors U.S., an organization that helps raise awareness and get aid to persecuted Christians.
The situation in Nigeria has gained attention thanks to the Trump administration, along with some unlikely cultural figures who have called out the persecution against Christians in the country, including left-wing political commentator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bill-maher-exposes-nigerias-christian-genocide-in-47-seconds">Bill Maher</a> and pop star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nicki-minaj-teams-up-with-trump-will-highlight-christian-persecution-in-address-to-united-nations">Nicki Minaj</a>. Minaj even met with Trump administration officials about the issue earlier this month and raised awareness about Christian persecution in Nigeria in front of the United Nations.
The slaughter of Christians in Nigeria has become a full-blown genocide, according to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-can-the-world-still-deny-nigerias-christian-genocide">on-the-ground accounts and data from recent years</a>. Just this year, more than 7,000 Christians have reportedly been killed for their faith in Nigeria, including 250 Christians who were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/morning-brief-nigerian-christians-slaughtered-russia-standoff-illegal-alien-tiktoker-nabbed">killed</a> by Islamic extremists in the Yelwata village massacre in June. Research on worldwide Christian persecution suggests that Nigeria accounts for around 80% of the Christian deaths worldwide that come from persecution, according to Open Doors.
Nigeria&#8217;s government has denied that Christians in the country are being systematically targeted, saying, &#8220;There is no Christian genocide in Nigeria,&#8221; but it has agreed to discuss the issue with the United States. Last week, the Trump administration took more steps to address persecution in Nigeria, with War Secretary Pete Hegseth meeting with the country&#8217;s national security adviser.
&#8220;Under [President Trump&#8217;s] leadership, [the Department of War] is working aggressively with Nigeria to end the persecution of Christians by jihadist terrorists,&#8221; Hegseth <a href="https://x.com/SecWar/status/1991908064912617733">said</a>.
Brown told The Daily Wire that Nigerian Christians &#8220;would certainly say that the Nigerian government has not done enough to protect the freedoms and provide safety for the men and women on the ground there.&#8221;

Some media <a href="https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2025/10/2/no-bill-maher-there-is-no-christian-genocide-in-nigeria">outlets</a> have also <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgqlzkdeeqjo">scrutinized</a> claims of targeted violence toward Christians in Nigeria, writing that the violence in the African nation is too complicated to say that Christians are being systemically wiped out. But Brown told The Daily Wire that the reports of violence against Christians in Nigeria are not exaggerating the extent of the situation.
&#8220;These are realities on the ground that Christians are facing. In Nigeria, this has really been a multiple-year trend,&#8221; Brown said. &#8220;I was with a pastor from Nigeria a couple weeks ago, and he said for the better part of 15 years, he&#8217;s been trying to tell this story to the world, and he&#8217;s been just so thankful that the collective attention finally is seeming to be raised.&#8221;

Nigeria received more attention earlier this month when more than 300 students and 12 staff members were <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/11/21/africa/students-kidnapped-nigerian-catholic-school-intl">kidnapped</a> from a Catholic boarding school by armed men. That mass kidnapping came shortly after 25 girls were abducted from a government boarding school in Nigeria and after an <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/gunmen-attack-church-nigeria-killing-two-kidnapping-others-2025-11-19/">attack</a> on a church, where at least two people were killed, and the pastor was abducted.

Each year, Open Doors releases a &#8220;World Watch List&#8221; which shows where Christians face the most persecution. In its 2025 list, released in January, Nigeria was near the top at 7th. Open Doors uses research teams to follow news updates in countries around the world and on-the-ground relationships with Christians in numerous countries, according to Brown.
Islamic extremists with terror groups, such as Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province, are targeting Christians mainly in the country&#8217;s northern regions, but the violence isn&#8217;t completely centered on Christians. Muslims with different ethnicities from the terrorists are also killed for political and religious reasons.
&#8220;There are so many different contributing factors that are at play here. It&#8217;s a complicated situation,&#8221; said Brown. But he added that the nuance doesn&#8217;t mean the world should look past the violence targeting Christians.
&#8220;Some have said because it&#8217;s nuanced and complicated, the conclusion we should draw is Christian persecution is not happening. We would look at those same nuances and complexities and say no, it&#8217;s an oversimplification to say that Christian persecution is not part of the fabric of what&#8217;s being woven here,&#8221; Brown said.
Nigerian Christians continue to hold their faith as they face threats and violence from radical Islamic terrorists, and they are hopeful that President Trump&#8217;s focus on their plight will result in positive steps being taken toward religious freedom. When Trump designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern, Brown said that Nigerian Christian leaders had &#8220;an incredible sense of gratitude and thankfulness,&#8221; but added that they also recognized there was a lot of work to be done to address Christian persecution in the African nation.
The Trump administration is not just seeking to end the persecution of Christians in Nigeria — it also has its sights set on ending the war in Sudan, a conflict that has resulted in the deaths of numerous Christians and Muslims. Like in Nigeria, the violence against Christians in Sudan spans decades and is perpetrated by radical Islamic extremists.
Gasim Domkog, a pastor who grew up in Sudan before coming to America, told The Daily Wire that the violence against Christians has been nonstop as the country has gone through regime changes and civil war.
&#8220;We went through a lot. I personally went through a lot,&#8221; Domkog said, adding that many members of his own family have been killed by the Islamic extremist violence.
&#8220;It&#8217;s very rare to find anybody from Sudan that has not had people from their family that has been killed,&#8221; added Domkog, who now leads an Arabic-speaking church in Nashville and ministers to Christians who came out of Islam.
Along with facing intense persecution for their faith, Sudanese Christians are also affected by the civil war that has torn the country apart. Sudan&#8217;s current civil war, which started in 2023, is fought between the government and the Rapid Support Forces, a powerful Islamic militant group seeking to gain control of the country. More than 150,000 people have been killed in the war, and over 12 million have been forced to flee their homes.

Sudan ranks 5th on the Open Doors &#8220;World Watch&#8221; list of countries where Christians face the most persecution. Violence against Christians in Sudan is perpetrated by the radical Islamic extremist groups that vie for control of the country. Often, these groups are controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood.
The country has been unstable since the early 1980s, when civil war broke out and continued until 2005. Following more than 20 years of conflict, South Sudan, which is made up mostly of Christians, broke away from Sudan and formed its own country in 2011.
Similar to the Muslim extremists in Nigeria, terrorists in Sudan also target Muslims who have ethnic differences. In the war-torn region of Darfur, militants have gone door-to-door killing thousands of people. Evidence of the mass killings could be seen from <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/International/blood-visible-space-sudan-shows-evidence-darfur-genocide/story?id=126985544">satellite images</a>, which showed blood-soaked neighborhoods in Darfur. The killings took place immediately after the Rapid Response Forces took control of the city. Most of the people killed in Darfur are Muslims and are targeted because they have darker skin, Domkog told The Daily Wire.
&#8220;At first, the jihadists were using religious war as holy war, but now they&#8217;re focusing on ethnicity,&#8221; Domkog said. &#8220;They say that if you&#8217;re not of Arab descent, you need to be killed. Now, they&#8217;re killing their own people.&#8221;

President Trump <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-announces-us-making-new-effort-end-war/story?id=127683382">said</a> last week that after meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, he has agreed that the United States will &#8220;do something very powerful having to do with Sudan.&#8221;
The war will be a complicated web for the Trump administration to address. Evidence presented by human rights groups <a href="https://www.americanprogress.org/article/how-congress-can-help-curb-the-uaes-role-in-sudans-crisis/#:~:text=The%20UAE%27s%20role%20in%20perpetuating,and%20supplies%20as%20humanitarian%20aid." target="_blank" rel="noopener">shows</a> that the United Arab Emirates is the main backer of the Rapid Response Forces, while other nations, including China, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, and Russia, send weapons and ammunition to both sides of the war. Trump acknowledged that the war in Sudan will not be an easy fix, but added that he believes it&#8217;s important to seek peace in the country.

This week, the city of El Fasher, the last government-held capital in Darfur, <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cy7eyd13ky5t">fell</a> to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) — a brutal militia descended from the Janjaweed death squads that terrorized Sudan two decades ago. The RSF, heavily armed and bankrolled by the United Arab Emirates, surrounded the city with an earthen wall, trapping some 250,000 civilians inside. Then came the bombers. Then came the slaughter.
Witnesses describe summary executions, rape, and mass graves. One survivor<a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/10/28/sudan-genocide-double-standards/"> told</a> reporters, “We saw many of our relatives massacred. They were gathered in one place and killed.” Drone footage and social media clips show civilians forced to the ground and executed point-blank. Bodies lie strewn among burned-out vehicles — a modern echo of Rwanda’s horror.
The United Nations did what it does best: issue statements. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk expressed “grave concern” over “ethnically motivated atrocities.” The World Health Organization condemned attacks on the last operational hospital. And then, predictably, the bureaucratic machine returned to its comfortable paralysis. Meanwhile, Sudanese corpses pile up, the death toll <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/28/africa/sudan-rsf-takes-el-fasher-intl">surpassing</a> 150,000, with hundreds of thousands of children starving to death in what is officially recognized by the United States as genocide.
The contrast to Gaza is stark. There are no leaflets warning civilians. No humanitarian corridors. No ceasefire resolutions are cycling through the Security Council every other day. No global protests demanding “Freedom for Darfur.” Just silence — and perhaps the occasional shrug from Western elites too busy moralizing about Israel.

Governor Minni Arko Minnawi, addressing his nation after El Fasher’s fall, delivered a defiant message: “This is not an end, but a beginning. From El Fasher, we begin again from zero… We are not advocates of war, but we have learned that peace is not a gift; it is built through steadfastness and dignity.” His words, equal parts grief and resolve, accused the international community of complicity through apathy: “Your silence has carved shame into the breast of history.”

Sudan’s de facto head of state, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, confirmed the army’s withdrawal, saying it was the only way to “protect the remaining citizens.” His statement amounted to a bitter admission of defeat — and a warning that the RSF now controls all five Darfur state capitals, establishing a de facto regime of terror.
The Western media’s indifference to this bloodbath would be stunning if it weren’t so predictable. The Telegraph rightly called it “a genocide that dwarfs Gaza,” yet the “Free Palestine” crowd — the self-anointed guardians of human rights — cannot muster a single demonstration for Sudan. Their compassion has borders, and those borders are political.
The RSF’s campaign is not a war of defense but of annihilation — ethnic cleansing under a new flag. It’s the very definition of genocide. But since it doesn’t involve Israelis or fit the narrative of Western colonial guilt, the world averts its eyes. There’s no outcry from celebrities, no op-eds from Ivy League moral philosophers, no candlelit vigils in London or New York. Just muted headlines and fading interest.
In his speech, Minnawi called on Sudan’s diaspora to rise up — to “rebuild from the ashes and create life from pain.” But even he must know that, for now, Sudan stands alone. The same global conscience that weeps over Gaza has turned its back on Africa’s dying children.
And so El Fasher burns. The RSF marches on. And the world — the same world that accuses Israel of genocide — watches a real one unfold, in silence.

Sudan’s Real Genocide Ignored: El Fasher Falls While The West Looks Away

Drone and artillery strikes by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces on a shelter in the Sudanese city of Al Fashir killed at least 60 people on Friday night and Saturday morning, according to local activists.
Al-Fashir is under siege by the RSF as it struggles to wrest control of the army&#8217;s last stronghold in the Darfur region.
The siege has spread hunger and disease in the city and relentless drone and artillery strikes have hit displacement shelters, mosques, and hospitals and clinics.

&#8220;Bodies remain under the rubble, and others were burned alive inside the shelter caravans, children, women, and elderly killed in cold blood, the al-Fashir Resistance Committees said in a statement earlier on Saturday. It said in a later statement that the shelter had been hit twice by drones and eight times by artillery shells.
The resistance committee said hundreds of civilians have been killed by the attacks, and residents who spoke to Reuters said they had dug bunkers into their homes and neighborhoods for protection.
The activist group said the city is losing 30 people on average daily to violence, hunger, and disease.

President Donald Trump earlier this month announced ban on travel from a dozen countries and partial restrictions from seven more in an effort to protect the United States from terrorist and public safety threats.
The ban fully restricts or limits the entry of nationals from 12 countries “found to be deficient with regards to screening and vetting and determined to pose a very high risk to the United States” including Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
Seven countries will face partial travel restrictions, including Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. The White House says the order makes exceptions for lawful permanent residents, people with existing visas, certain visa types, and anyone whose entry would support American national interests.
According to the White House, the goal of the ban is to pressure foreign governments to cooperate on security, help enforce United States immigration laws, and support key national security and counterterrorism priorities.
The restrictions follow a January executive order in which national security agencies were told to assess the security risks of various countries. That review led to the current list.
Here are the reasons the Trump administration says each country is facing restrictions:

Afghanistan
Taliban-controlled Afghanistan lacks a reliable government to issue valid passports and civil documents and does not have adequate screening and vetting measures, according to the Trump administration. Furthermore, Afghanistan has a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of nearly 10% and a student (F), vocational (M), and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of nearly 30%.
Burma
Burma has extremely high visa overstay rates — over 27% for tourist/business visas (B1/B2) and more than 42% for student (F), vocational (M), and exchange visitor (J) visas. Burma has also refused to take back its citizens who are ordered to be deported from the U.S. The government added that Burma has “historically not cooperated with the United States to accept back their removable nationals.”

Chad
Chad has one of the worst visa overstay rates, with nearly 50% for business/tourist (B1/B2) visas and over 55% for student (F), vocational (M), and exchange (J) visas in 2023. In 2022, the B1/B2 overstay rate was also high at 37.12%. The U.S. says these numbers indicate “a blatant disregard for U.S. immigration laws.”
Republic of the Congo
The Republic of the Congo, which has been embroiled in conflict for more than 30 years, also has a visa overstay issue with a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of almost 30% and student (F) visas, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visas, overstay rate of about 35%.
Equatorial Guinea
Equatorial Guinea, located in central Africa, had a business/tourist (B1/B2) overstay rate of 21.98% and student (F) visas, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of 70.18%.
Eritrea
The United States questions the competence of the central authority for issuance of passports or civil documents in Eritrea, and says it does not have access to criminal records for Eritrean nationals. The east African country has also historically refused to accept back its deported citizens. Its tourist/business (B1/B2) visa overstay rate is about 20% and student (F) visas, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate is about 55%.
Haiti
Currently overrun by murderous gangs, Haiti had hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens flood into the United States during the Biden administration. According to the Trump administration the “influx harms American communities by creating acute risks of increased overstay rates, establishment of criminal networks, and other national security threats.” Haiti also lacks “a central authority with sufficient availability and dissemination of law enforcement information necessary to ensure its nationals do not undermine the national security of the United States.” Haiti had a tourist/business (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 31.38% and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of about 25.05%.
Iran
Iran, a leading state sponsor of terrorism, routinely fails to cooperate with the United States government in identifying security risks and has historically failed to accept back its nationals eligible for deportation.

Libya lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents. The country’s historical terrorism presence amplifies the risk of Libyan nationals entering the United States.
Somalia
Somalia also lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents, does not have appropriate screening and vetting measures, and has historically refused to take back its nationals eligible for deportation. The Trump administration says Somalia differs from the other countries due to its government lacking command and control of its territory, “which greatly limits the effectiveness of its national capabilities in a variety of respects.” Somalia is also a “terrorist safe haven” where radicals travel to join terrorist groups that pose a threat to the United States.
Sudan
Sudan, located in northern Africa, lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents and lacks appropriate screening and vetting measures. Sudan had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 26.30% and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of about 28.40%.
Yemen
Yemen, which is currently overrun by the U.S.-designated terror group, the Houthis, lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents and it does not have appropriate screening and vetting measures. The Trump administration has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-he-will-stop-airstrikes-on-houthis-after-terror-group-capitulated" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bombed the group for weeks</a> in an effort to restore global trade that the Iran-backed proxy disrupted.

Fighters from a paramilitary group and allied Arab militias massacred more than one thousand civilians in an attack on a town last week in Sudan&#8217;s West Darfur region.
Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and its allied militias attacked Ardamata, a camp for displaced people, after they attacked a nearby military base.
Over the course of several days, more than one thousand civilians were killed. Some estimates have put the number killed at greater than 2,000.
The fighting comes after a civil war erupted in the country in April between the RSF and Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). The two groups were aligned in the past until &#8220;its outgrown influence and the ambitions of its leader, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan, put the two sides in direct confrontation,&#8221; The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/17/world/africa/paramilitary-rsf-explainer.html">reported</a>. The war erupted after Hamdan and SAF military chief Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan removed a transitional government in 2021 with a military coup.

The RSF <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy1712">engages</a> in &#8220;the massacre of civilians, ethnic killings, and use of sexual violence,&#8221; according to the U.S. Treasury Department.
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/eu-condemns-darfur-violence-warns-another-genocide-2023-11-12/">said</a> in a statement, &#8220;These latest atrocities are seemingly part of a wider ethnic cleansing campaign conducted by the RSF with the aim to eradicate the non-Arab Masalit community from West Darfur, and comes on top of the first wave of large violence in June.&#8221;
The EU said that there were &#8220;credible eyewitness reports (that) more than a thousand members of the Masalit community were killed in Ardamta, West Darfur, in just over two days, during major attacks carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and its affiliated militias.&#8221;
Among the atrocities being committed were reports that young girls were being raped in front of their mothers, according to the <a href="https://www.barrons.com/news/eu-appalled-by-reports-1-000-killed-in-darfur-3b306234">AFP</a>.

1,000+ Civilians Killed In Sudan By Militia Groups

Regional sources are reporting that the rival factions in an ongoing power struggle in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sudan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sudan</a> have come to a tentative agreement that could serve as a framework for a proper peace agreement.
The Sudanese military and a paramilitary organization known as the Rapid Support Forces have been negotiating in Jeddah,  a major port city in Saudi Arabia, since Saturday. The violence erupted on April 15 after a failed attempt to integrate the RSF into the command structure of the regular army — each force is led by a rival general and over 100,000 strong, and the groups had been sharing power since a 2019 coup deposed the previous Islamist government.
“The Jeddah Declaration affirmed that the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces would refrain from any attack that would cause civilian harm,” Saudi based news outlet <a href="https://english.alarabiya.net/News/middle-east/2023/05/12/Warring-Sudanese-military-factions-sign-preliminary-agreement-of-principles-in-Jeddah" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Al-Arabiya</a> reported on Thursday. “They also agreed that the interests of the Sudanese people are a priority for them, and that the Sudanese army and Rapid Support Forces would take all precautions to spare civilians any harm.”
The conflict has killed <a href="https://apnews.com/article/sudan-death-toll-un-fighting-khartoum-de76a27db2d1f871430142d172829f6f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">at least</a> 604 people and wounded over 5,100 others, according to the World Health Organization. Another 500,000 have reportedly been displaced. Much of the violence was concentrated in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, where RSF forces fought to seize control of military positions and vital infrastructure, catching many civilians in the crossfire.
The U.S. military <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-diplomats-evacuated-from-sudan-as-conflict-intensifies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">evacuated</a> diplomatic personnel from the American embassy in Khartoum on April 22, although official efforts to evacuate civilians were slower and incomplete — as of May 4, the U.S. had evacuated 1300 citizens, although the State Department estimated that as many as 16,000 U.S. citizens may have been in the country. Citizens are not required to notify the State Department when they enter or exit the country, making precise estimates of the American presence in Sudan difficult.
<a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-04-24/japan-evacuates-45-people-from-sudan-closes-embassy#xj4y7vzkg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Japan</a>, Canada, Britain, Germany, Italy, France, Egypt, and Sweden also took efforts to <a href="https://www.voanews.com/a/countries-evacuate-diplomats-citizens-out-of-sudan/7063323.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">evacuate</a> civilians and diplomatic personnel soon after the fighting began. The UN Food Programme also suspended operations in the country after three of their employees had been killed in the fighting. The UN reports that roughly ⅓ of Sudan’s population of 46 million face “acute food insecurity.”
The agreement comes in the wake of several false starts and failed ceasefires — early on in the conflict, the warring parties had agreed to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/05/us/politics/sudan-generals-peace-talks.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">several ceasefires</a> to allow civilians to evacuate contested areas and to create corridors for humanitarian aid to pass through, but those agreements fell apart <a href="https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/20230426_N03/#:~:text=The%20Sudanese%20armed%20forces%20and,flared%20up%20again%20within%20hours." target="_blank" rel="noopener">within hours</a>.
“Both the army and the Rapid Support Forces had put forward some demands and conditions, but the mediation postponed them to limiting the agreement to a cease-fire and the opening of safe passages for the delivery of humanitarian aid,” Al-Arabiya <a href="https://www.alarabiya.net/arab-and-world/2023/05/12/%D8%A7%D8%AA%D9%81%D8%A7%D9%82-%D9%85%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%AF%D8%A6-%D8%A3%D9%88%D9%84%D9%8A-%D8%A8%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%8A%D8%B4-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3%D9%88%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%8A-%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D8%B9%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%B9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

The negotiations were brokered by the American State Department and the Saudi Foreign Ministry. The violent power struggle drew early condemnation from the United Nations and the Arab League, of which Sudan is a member, and international observers expressed concern that the outbreak of civil war could destabilize the entire region and draw other nations such as Egypt and Ethiopia into the conflict.

The United States reportedly deployed a Navy ship to Sudan to evacuate hundreds of American citizens stranded after two warring military groups began struggling for power earlier this month.
According to <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/sudan-politics-usa-military-idAFL1N36X07H">Reuters</a>, two anonymous U.S. officials said on Sunday the Navy temporarily stationed the USNS Brunswick in Port Sudan, likely meant to evacuate U.S. citizens on the vessel.
The report comes after the Biden administration announced that buses carrying several hundred American citizens reached Port Sudan as drones overhead kept a watchful eye against any malignant actors. U.S. officials have reportedly been working with Saudi Arabia to send a ship to the port to rescue the Americans.
NBC <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/armed-us-drones-escort-evacuation-american-citizens-war-torn-sudan-rcna82130">reported</a> a Pentagon spokesperson said, “The Department of Defense deployed U.S. intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets to support air and land evacuation routes, which Americans are using.”
Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said, according to the news outlet, that the U.S. was “moving naval assets within the region to provide any necessary support along the coast,” adding that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had “approved a request for assistance from the Department of State to support the safe departure.”
Matthew Miller, a State Department spokesperson, said Saturday that “intensive negotiations” by the U.S. with the support of “regional and international partners” reportedly allowed citizens and non-citizens alike to evacuate the African country under heavy conflict since April 15.
Hundreds of paramilitary forces and citizens, including two U.S. nationals, were killed or injured in a series of airstrikes in Khartoum last week as the Sudanese army bombed positions held by the country’s RSF paramilitary group in a power struggle that some international observers fear could ignite a full-blown civil war.
World Health officials <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/who-warns-huge-biological-risk-threatens-public-health-after-sudan-fighters-occupy-lab-carrying-deadly-diseases">reported</a> last week that the Sudanese health ministry had tallied at least 459 deaths and over 4,000 others injured. Five deaths included aid workers from two United Nations agencies: the International Organization for Migration and the World Food Programme. Both groups have since suspended their operations.
The U.S. evacuated its embassy staff but previously told thousands of other Americans that they were on their own if they wanted to flee the fighting. The White House could not explain why other nations sent planes to Sudan’s capital to evacuate their citizens this week.
The Biden administration defended the State Department’s decision to evacuate embassy personnel from Sudan while taking limited steps to aid thousands of Americans thought to still be in the country.
The U.S. Department of State has estimated that 16,000 Americans remain in Sudan. However, officials could not confirm the count because Americans living or traveling abroad are not required to check in with or otherwise make their plans known to the U.S. government.

State Department Spokesperson Vedant Patel told <a class="c-link" href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/sudan-conflict-american-citizens-evacuated-military-battles-rcna82084" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-stringify-link="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/sudan-conflict-american-citizens-evacuated-military-battles-rcna82084" data-sk="tooltip_parent">NBC</a> that a fraction of about 5,000 citizens requested aid to depart Sudan, either by land, sea or aircraft.&#8221;
Blinken said that many Americans in Sudan are dual citizens who do not want to leave the country despite its deteriorating conditions.
“The overwhelming majority of American citizens in Sudan are dual nationals who made their lives there, who have been living there for years, d'[ecades, for generations, and many want to continue to do that,” he said. “But for those who are seeking to leave, we will continue to engage directly with them to see what we can do to help them, and, like I said, with allies and partners as well to help facilitate their departure.”

US Navy Deploys Vessel To Help Evacuate Americans In Sudan: Report

President Joe Biden and his team have finally started evacuating non-government official Americans out of war-torn Sudan — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/utterly-useless-biden-abandons-thousands-of-americans-in-war-torn-sudan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">days after the rest of the civilized world</a> began doing so.
On Saturday, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/sudan-americans-biden-white-house-evacuation-993ef30bf43320023dc7d8d5ee202bcf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that buses carrying several hundred American citizens finally reached Port Sudan as drones overhead kept a watchful eye against any malign actors. Now, those Americans have to find their way out of the country on ships departing for peaceful land, but the U.S. government is reportedly working with Saudi Arabia to send a ship to the port to rescue the Americans.
Sudan has been under heavy conflict since April 15. Two Americans have died. The U.S. was able to evacuate its embassy staff, but told thousands of other Americans that they were on their own if they wanted to flee the fighting. Incredulously, the White House could not explain this week why other nations were able to send planes to Sudan&#8217;s capital to evacuate their citizens, but the U.S. was caught flatfooted.
On Thursday, a reporter pressed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for any kind of answer that could explain the disparity between America&#8217;s response and the rest of the free world.
“Given the President’s direction and what you’re saying right now, a number of other countries have evacuated citizens over the course of the last several days and taken advantage of the ceasefire the U.S. helped put into place,” a reporter <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2023/04/27/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-28/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> during the daily press briefing. “The U.S. still has not. What is different about your risk assessment right now or security assessment than what other countries are looking at as they’ve gone in and gotten their people out?”
KJP chalked it up to intelligence briefings that weren&#8217;t available to the public.
“And we have been clear on what the President — laying out, which is what I did — laying out, at the President’s direction, what we have done, how we move forward, how we worked with allies and partners to get Americans out,” Jean-Pierre said. “And we’ve been pretty clear about this for the past several months, for the past year, what — the situation in Sudan. And so, we’re going to continue to have those conversations.”
She added, “I’m certainly not going to get into any — any intelligence or how that’s come about or how we come to certain — certain kind of intelligence, surveillance, or reconnaissance.”
It is unclear how the intelligence changed so much within 48 hours that the State Department decided they could send some assistance to the U.S. citizens stranded there. From an outsider&#8217;s perspective, it seems more likely that media pressure forced the Biden administration&#8217;s hand.
Better later than never, but with thousands more to go, how is this worth celebrating? It is another sign of the incompetence and &#8220;Johnny Come Lately&#8221; decision-making of the Biden administration.

Biden Finally Begins Evacuating Americans Out Of Sudan Days After Everybody Else

The United States of America has abandoned thousands of Americans in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sudan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sudan</a>, despite other countries being able to evacuate their own citizens from the war-torn country this week. Why is that? The White House hasn&#8217;t really offered to explain, other than to say that the intelligence suggested it was too dangerous.
During a U.S.-negotiated 72-hour ceasefire in Sudan, countries such as France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Holland, and more have been able to facilitate travel for their nationals in the country. U.S. diplomatic staff were safely rescued, but for some reason, U.S. intelligence said it was too dangerous to try and evacuate any non-government Americans, of which there are an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-admin-says-total-number-of-americans-left-in-sudan-unknown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">estimated</a> 16,000 men, women, and children.
When pressed on why the most powerful country in the world couldn&#8217;t evacuate more people, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre did not really answer on Thursday.
&#8220;Given the President’s direction and what you’re saying right now, a number of other countries have evacuated citizens over the course of the last several days and taken advantage of the ceasefire the U.S. helped put into place,&#8221; a reporter <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2023/04/27/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-28/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> during the daily press briefing. &#8220;The U.S. still has not. What is different about your risk assessment right now or security assessment than what other countries are looking at as they’ve gone in and gotten their people out?&#8221;
It&#8217;s a good question, but Jean-Pierre evaded it by suggesting that a direct answer would implicate foreign intelligence operations and security.
&#8220;And we have been clear on what the President — laying out, which is what I did — laying out, at the President’s direction, what we have done, how we move forward, how we worked with allies and partners to get Americans out,&#8221; Jean-Pierre said. “And we’ve been pretty clear about this for the past several months, for the past year, what — the situation in Sudan. And so, we’re going to continue to have those conversations.&#8221;
She added, &#8220;I’m certainly not going to get into any — any intelligence or how that’s come about or how we come to certain — certain kind of intelligence, surveillance, or reconnaissance.&#8221;
The reporter appeared annoyed by her hesitation to answer.

&#8220;The security alerts from the State Department over the course of the last year never told people to leave,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They told people never to travel there.&#8221;
&#8220;Yeah, that’s true,&#8221; Jean-Pierre replied.
&#8220;Clearly, there’s something that’s being seen,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I’m not asking for intelligence. I’m just saying, can you explain the process here, given the President’s directive to help?&#8221;
Not surprisingly, she could not explain other than to say the State Department was providing assistance.
But according to several Americans who have family members in Sudan trying to flee, the State has been mediocre.
“To be honest with you, the State Department was useless, utterly useless throughout this entire period,” one man whose parents were trying to escape Sudan <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/26/politics/americans-sudan-us-government/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> to CNN.
“We expected the Department to provide some kind of guidance, but the guidance was the template, just shelter in place, no critical information being provided,” he added.
Others concurred with that assessment.
“I am incredibly shocked and disgusted by the American lackluster response to the health and safety of their citizens,” Muna Daoud, whose parents were stuck in Sudan, told the outlet.
The question remains, why was the U.S.&#8217; handling of this so dismal as smaller nations managed it with ease?
“It was quite perplexing because I don’t understand how other nations were able to secure buses and evacuate their citizens and devise plans to get hundreds of their citizens out, and we’re patting ourselves on the back for getting 70 diplomats out,” one individual said to CNN.
Well, the answer is that the Biden administration is incompetent and filled with unqualified individuals. This administration prioritizes equity over excellence. Their focus is not safety, nor is it looking after the American citizen. Their main goal is transforming the federal government — domestic and foreign policy-wise alike — into a vehicle to turn the country into a socialist nation based on race and other immutable characteristics.
Biden, as opined yesterday, isn&#8217;t really in charge, and his underlings focus on everything except their actual job duties. So, that&#8217;s why the U.S. has been so behind the eight-ball on this. That ineptitude is going to get people killed — two Americans have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wednesday-afternoon-update-second-american-killed-in-sudan-xi-and-zelensky-phone-call-debt-deal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">already</a> died in Sudan in recent weeks.
