<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jamie-foxx-says-he-will-open-up-about-his-serious-health-scare-at-stand-up-show">Jamie Foxx</a> finally revealed that the mystery illness that led to him being in a coma for more than two weeks in 2023 was &#8220;a brain bleed that led to a stroke.&#8221;
During Foxx’s new Netflix special “What Had Happened Was,” the 56-year-old comedian became emotional at times, as he admitted doctors still “don’t know exactly what happened” to him, but were able to identify that he suffered a stroke a year ago, NPR <a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/12/10/nx-s1-5213726/jamie-foxx-netflix-special">reported</a>.
Foxx said that on the day it happened, he was dealing with a “bad headache,&#8221; and then he was &#8220;out,” not recalling anything that happened for the next 20 days. He credited his sister, Deidre Dixon, for realizing something was wrong and getting him to the hospital right away.

The Award-winning actor said a &#8220;cool doctor in a Los Angeles Lakers jersey” told Dixon that her brother was &#8220;having a brain bleed that has led to a stroke, and if I don&#8217;t go into his head right now, we&#8217;re going to lose him.”
Foxx said after the doctors performed surgery, they told Dixon that “he may be able to make a full recovery, but it&#8217;s going to be the worst year of his life,&#8221; after they confirmed the stroke, but were unable to find the source of the bleed.
&#8220;Your life doesn&#8217;t flash before your face,&#8221; Foxx told the audience in the special. &#8220;It was kind of oddly peaceful. I say this all the time, I saw the tunnel, I didn&#8217;t see the light.&#8221;

He also reflected on his faith and said it felt like a sign that he wasn’t taking his blessings from God seriously enough. At one point, Foxx led the room in a round of “God is good. All the time.&#8221;
The reveal comes more than a year after the actor was hospitalized in April 2023 for what, at the time, was described as a “medical complication” by his daughter, actress Corrine Foxx, in a post on Instagram.
In Corrine’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actor-jamie-foxx-hospitalized-due-to-medical-complication">original post</a>, she wrote, “From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
Since that time, very little information as to what Foxx went through those weeks in the hospital had been released.

Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sharon-stone">Sharon Stone</a> said she was left completely broke after having a stroke in 2001 because people &#8220;took advantage&#8221; of her.
The 66-year-old “Basic Instinct” star told The Hollywood Reporter during an <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/sharon-stone-interview-career-philanthropy-kevin-spacey-1235940795/">interview</a> published Monday that all of the millions she had in savings disappeared following the medical emergency and her lengthy recovery.
“&#8230;People took advantage of me during that time. I had $18 million saved because of all my success, but when I got back into my bank account, it was all gone. My refrigerator, my phone — everything was in other people’s names,” Stone told the outlet.
“I had zero money,” she added. 
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">actress</a> also discussed how the stroke altered her entire outlook on life. 
“A Buddhist monk told me that I had been reincarnated into my same body,” Stone explained. “I had a death experience and then they brought me back. I bled into my brain for nine days, so my brain was shoved to the front of my face. It wasn’t positioned in my head where it was before.”
She continued, “And while that was happening, everything changed. My sense of smell, my sight, my touch. I couldn’t read for a couple of years. Things were stretched and I was seeing color patterns. A lot of people thought I was going to die.”
The interviewer asked Stone how she managed to survive such an extreme medical event and the subsequent loss of trust in the people around her.
“I decided to stay present and let go,” she explained. “I decided not to hang onto being sick or to any bitterness or anger. If you bite into the seed of bitterness, it never leaves you. But if you hold faith, even if that faith is the size of a mustard seed, you will survive. So, I live for joy now. I live for purpose.”
The stroke occurred when Stone was 43. The Academy Award nominee noticed her body felt numb, and there was a “terrible pain” in her head. She was diagnosed with a brain bleed and given a 1% chance of survival at the time, <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/03/29/sharon-stone-reveals-child-sex-abuse-stroke-in-new-memoir/">per</a> The New York Post.

Elderly people may have an increased risk of stroke caused by blood clots in the brains if they receive both the COVID booster and a flu shot in the same visit, a new study suggests.
Older adults who received both shots in the same visit last year <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Health/flu-covid-shot-reasonable-amid-safety-review-potential/story?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=dhfacebook&amp;utm_content=null&amp;id=104308950" target="_blank" rel="noopener">had</a> a 20-35% increased stroke risk, according to the <a href="https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2023.10.10.23296624v1.full.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a>, which was funded by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The results <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/25/health/covid-flu-vaccine-stroke-risk-study/index.html#:~:text=Vaccines%20for%20Covid%2D19%20and,according%20to%20a%20new%20study." target="_blank" rel="noopener">showed</a> about three strokes for every 100,000 doses given.
The study <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/25/health/covid-flu-vaccine-stroke-risk-study/index.html#:~:text=Vaccines%20for%20Covid%2D19%20and,according%20to%20a%20new%20study." target="_blank" rel="noopener">suggested</a> the increased stroke risk may be primarily driven by the flu shots rather than the COVID vaccines. Nevertheless, the results have sparked concerns.
The study examined the Medicare claims of more than 5.3 million adults age 65 and older who received a bivalent Pfizer or Moderna COVID vaccine.
Those age 65 or older who got a bivalent vaccine and a high-dose flu shot at the same time had an increased risk of blood clots in their brains. The high-dose flu shot is only <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/flu/expert-answers/fluzone/faq-20058032" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> for people 65 and older.
Those 85 and older who got the Pfizer vaccine also had a higher risk of stroke caused by blood clots even without taking the flu shot at the same time, the study found.
The study also found a very slight increase in stroke risk for those 65 and older who had only gotten a high-dose flu shot, about one to two strokes per 100,000 doses.

The study is not yet peer-reviewed and is observational, meaning it can only show associations, not prove cause and effect. Some experts <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Health/flu-covid-shot-reasonable-amid-safety-review-potential/story?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=dhfacebook&amp;utm_content=null&amp;id=104308950" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cautioned</a> that the results are preliminary and could have another explanation such as elderly people being at higher risk for stroke already because of their age.
The study was triggered by a January public communication from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and FDA stating that one of their vaccine safety monitoring studies had suggested a small risk of stroke for older adults who received a Pfizer COVID shot and a high-dose flu shot on the same day.
&#8220;The review conducted in this preprint paper is part of our ongoing safety surveillance efforts, which utilize a variety of data sources,&#8221; the Food and Drug Administration told ABC, adding that the agency remains confident in the COVID vaccine.
Pfizer recently released a <a href="https://www.ispot.tv/ad/5bRp/pfizer-inc-covid-19-shot-two-things-at-once-featuring-travis-kelce" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commercial</a> promoting getting the COVID vaccine and the flu shot at the same time, or &#8220;two things at once.&#8221;
The ad spot features Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, who shows the camera two Band-Aids on his arm for the two shots.
&#8220;Travis, did you know you can get this season&#8217;s COVID-19 shot when you get your flu shot?&#8221; a woman asks the NFL player in the ad.
&#8220;Huh, two things at once,&#8221; Kelce responds. The ad then shows Kelce performing a series of two activities at once such as grilling while mowing the lawn and riding a hot air balloon while speaking on the radio.
The Kansas City Chiefs did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In a video shared on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_Do14aSG74" target="_blank" rel="noopener">YouTube</a>, the 71-year-old <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/iron-maiden-drummer-paralyzed-stroke-grace-of-god" target="_blank" rel="noopener">drummer</a> said that the stroke has left him partially paralyzed, but he is taking it one day at a time, and talked about getting better and stronger &#8220;by the grace of God.&#8221;
&#8220;I wasn&#8217;t well earlier this year, as some of you have quite rightly noticed,&#8221; McBrain said in the clip.
&#8220;In January, I had a stroke &#8212; thank the Lord it was a minor one referred to as a TIA (Transient ischaemic attack),&#8221; he added, in a statement. &#8220;It left me paralyzed on my right side from my shoulder on down. of course, I was very worried that my career was over, but with the love and support from my wife, Rebecca, and family, my doctors, especially Julie my OT (Occupational Therapist), and my Maiden family, I was able to bounce back to somewhere near 70% recovered.&#8221;
&#8220;After 10 weeks of intense therapy, it was almost time to start rehearsals for our tour,&#8221; the rocker continued. &#8220;I feel it&#8217;s important to let you know about this now instead of earlier, as I was mainly concerned with doing my job and concentrating on getting back to 100% fitness. I&#8217;m not there yet, but by the grace of God, I&#8217;m getting better and stronger as the weeks go by.&#8221;

Hollywood star Tatum O&#8217;Neal — who has struggled with drug addiction for decades — opened up about the stroke she suffered in 2020 from an overdose, which she said almost killed her, and her long path to recovery.
During an interview with the 59-year-old actress and her son, Kevin McEnroe, the two talked about how O&#8217;Neal is doing several years into recovery after her overdose and stroke — which resulted in spending six weeks in a coma.
&#8220;I almost died,&#8221; O&#8217;Neal told <a href="https://people.com/tatum-o-neal-stroke-almost-died-exclusive-7552983?utm_campaign=people&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=instagram&amp;utm_content=likeshop" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a> magazine.
McEnroe, her son with ex-husband and former tennis star John McEnroe, said when his mom overdosed, &#8220;It was the phone call we&#8217;d always been waiting for.&#8221;

The star&#8217;s son said the isolation his mom felt during COVID combined with chronic pain was one of the factors that led to the overdose and stroke.
&#8220;She had become very isolated,&#8221; McEnroe said. &#8220;With the addition of morphine and heavier pharmaceuticals, it was getting scary. COVID, chronic pain, all these things led to a place of isolation. In that place, I don&#8217;t think, for her, there was much hope.&#8221;
In May 2020, the Oscar winner was found by a friend in her Century City apartment where she was rushed to the hospital after an overdose.
There she was diagnosed with <a href="https://people.com/health/aphasia-can-have-many-causes-an-expert-shares-what-to-know-about-this-complex-condition/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">aphasia</a> and &#8220;had damage to her right frontal cortex,&#8221; McEnroe told the outlet.
&#8220;At times, it was touch and go,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I had to call my brother and sister and say she was thought to be blind, deaf and potentially might never speak again.&#8221;
&#8220;She didn&#8217;t know where she was,&#8221; McEnroe continued &#8220;She couldn&#8217;t say, &#8216;I&#8217;m scared.'&#8221;
For the past three years, O&#8217;Neal has been working hard to get back her strength, memory, and ability to read and write.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve been through a lot,&#8221; the actress said.
McEnroe admitted his mom still has a ways to go as she works on her recovery and noted that, &#8220;Emotionally the things that made my mom want to take drugs in the first place, those things are still very present.&#8221;
&#8220;I’ve been trying to get sober my whole life,&#8221; the &#8220;Paper Moon&#8221; star said. &#8220;Every day, I am trying.&#8221;

Senator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/john-fetterman" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Fetterman</a> (D-PA) blamed his recent hospitalization on the &#8220;brutality&#8221; of his 2022 Senate campaign.
In an interview with Pittsburgh CBS affiliate <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/sen-john-fetterman-exclusive-interview-politics-pennsylvania/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KDKA</a>, Fetterman said he is doing better, after he checked himself into Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C., in February. Fetterman was diagnosed with depression and spent six weeks in treatment at Walter Reed. In the interview, the freshman senator blamed his depression on his May 2022 stroke, but also on Republicans during the campaign.
&#8220;It was after the brutality of the campaign, the other side,&#8221; Fetterman said. &#8220;Some people believe it was one of the most vicious political campaigns.&#8221; However, Fetterman did not put any of the blame on his opponent, celebrity heart surgeon and television presenter Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Fetterman&#8217;s health was a major concern of the campaign. He suffered a massive stroke in May that sidelined him from campaigning for months. The stroke was thrust into the spotlight in particular after an NBC News report in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-senate-candidate-fetterman-forced-to-use-giant-screen-for-interview-this-guys-in-bad-shape" target="_blank" rel="noopener">October</a> revealed that Fetterman needed a giant computer screen with closed captions in order to understand what the reporter was saying. Fetterman also reportedly struggled to find the right words in the interview. The impact was also apparent during Fetterman&#8217;s lone <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fetterman-faces-fallout-from-disastrous-debate-worst-performance-by-any-candidate-i-have-ever-seen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">debate</a> with Dr. Oz; Fetterman struggled to find words and gave several incoherent and incomplete answers to questions.
Fetterman said that his mental health was preventing him from being an effective Senator, husband, and father. &#8220;I wasn&#8217;t being the kind of senator Pennsylvania deserved,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I wasn&#8217;t being the kind of husband Gisele deserved, I wasn&#8217;t being the kind of father my children deserved.&#8221;
But Fetterman said this week that he is in better shape. &#8220;I feel fantastic, honestly,&#8221; he said. &#8220;A lot of people have been asking, &#8216;Hey, how are you feeling, how&#8217;s your depression?&#8217; It&#8217;s in remission, and I am just so grateful to [be] just feeling great.&#8221;
KDKA&#8217;s Jon Delano then presented the burning question directly. &#8220;Is John Fetterman really fit, mentally and physically, to be a United States senator?&#8221; he asked.
&#8220;That certainly is very blunt, but my answer will be blunt, too,&#8221; Fetterman replied. &#8220;Hell yes, and that&#8217;s why I&#8217;m doing it. Just the way any Pennsylvanians are working, you take it a day and a day and work hard, and that&#8217;s exactly what I am doing here.&#8221;

Fetterman was released from Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C., on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sen-john-fetterman-released-from-hospital" target="_blank" rel="noopener">March 31</a>. After being discharged, he returned home to Pennsylvania to continue his recovery, and returned to work on April 17, when the Senate returned from recess.
According to a <a href="https://twitter.com/frankthorp/status/1641919383147536384?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> from Dr. David Williamson, chief of neuropsychiatry and medical director of Walter Reed, Fetterman was admitted on February 15 with severe symptoms of depression, including low energy and motivation, minimal speech, poor sleep, slowed thinking, slowed movement, and feelings of guilt and worthlessness. Fortunately, Fetterman did not show signs of suicidal ideation. But his symptoms had progressively worsened over a period of eight weeks; Fetterman stopped eating and drinking, causing low blood pressure and possibly hurting blood flow to his brain.
Fetterman’s low blood pressure was attributed to poor hydration and weight loss. The Cardiology team adjusted his medications while his depression was handled with medication therapy. Fetterman’s mood steadily improved over the following weeks, the statement continued. He slept better, ate well, and hydrated, and he seemed happier and more motivated, and his attitude and engagement with others also improved. The report concluded that his depression went into remission because of the treatment. Fetterman committed to long-term treatment for depression, the report said.

Hollywood veteran <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/aaron-sorkin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aaron Sorkin</a> just revealed that he had a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/stroke" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stroke</a> in November, two months before “Camelot” rehearsals began.
The 61-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">playwright</a> and film director <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/22/theater/aaron-sorkin-camelot-broadway.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The New York Times that his blood pressure got so high that he was “supposed to be dead.” 
He was slurring words, had trouble typing, and was told not to fly, the Times noted. While the effects of the stroke have been gradually fading, he still isn’t able to taste food.
“Mostly it was a loud wake-up call,” Sorkin told the publication. “I thought I was one of those people who could eat whatever he wanted, smoke as much as he wanted, and it’s not going to affect me. Boy, was I wrong.”
The Academy Award winner said later, “There was a minute when I was concerned that I was never going to be able to write again, and I was concerned in the short-term that I wasn’t going to be able to continue writing ‘Camelot.’”
Sorkin also said he never intended to discuss what happened publicly but is now deciding to speak up in hopes of helping someone else. 
“If it’ll get one person to stop smoking, then it’ll be helpful,” the screenwriter said, mentioning how he smoked two packs of cigarettes daily for several years. 
“Let me make this very, very clear,” Sorkin insisted. “I’m fine. I wouldn’t want anyone to think I can’t work. I’m fine.”

Sorkin’s 2018 Broadway adaptation of “To Kill a Mockingbird” was nominated for nine Tony Awards. His newest project, “Camelot,” is scheduled to debut on April 13.
The Hollywood creator is a liberal but spoke out against some leftist agenda items in the past, including the trend of only casting LGBT actors to play LGBT roles. “It’s heartbreaking and a little chilling to see members of the artistic community resegregating ourselves,” he said in 2021 while <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/west-wing-creator-aaron-sorkin-says-woke-identity-based-casting-is-mother-of-all-empty-gestures" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discussing</a> “representation” in casting.

Transgender patients who undergo hormone therapy have a significantly increased risk of serious health problems, such as stroke, heart attack, and pulmonary embolism, according to a new study.
A <a href="https://www.acc.org/About-ACC/Press-Releases/2023/02/22/20/29/Hormone-Therapy-for-Gender-Dysphoria-May-Raise-Cardiovascular-Risks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">new study</a> presented at an American College of Cardiology conference found that transgender patients who take cross-sex hormones had an increased risk of dangerous blood clots that can create blockages in the brain, heart, and lungs, according to a press release. The study found the subjects had nearly seven times the risk of ischemic stroke, six times the risk of the most severe type of heart attack and nearly five times the risk of pulmonary embolism, compared to those with gender dysphoria who never used hormone therapy.
&#8220;It&#8217;s all about risks and benefits,&#8221; said Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed, a third-year resident at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, Pennsylvania, and the study&#8217;s lead author. &#8220;Starting transitioning is a big part of a person&#8217;s life and helping them feel more themselves, but hormone replacement therapy also has a lot of side effects; it&#8217;s not a risk-free endeavor.&#8221;
This new study, which will be presented at the Annual Scientific Session Together With the World Congress of Cardiology in March, is the largest to date to examine the cardiovascular risks associated with hormone replacement therapy in people with gender dysphoria, a population that has not been well-researched. 
The study retrospectively analyzed hospital records of more than 21,000 individuals with gender dysphoria, out of which 1,675 had undergone cross-sex hormone therapy. Male-to-female transgender patients often take estrogen to induce the appearance of female secondary sex characteristics, and female-to-male transgender patients frequently take testosterone to induce the appearance of male secondary sex characteristics. 
Researchers said that both estrogen and testosterone are known to increase the clotting activity of blood, which could explain the increase in clotting-related cardiovascular events. Those taking hormone replacement therapy in the study also had higher rates of substance use disorder and hypothyroidism.
An ischemic stroke, for which patients in the study who had undergone hormone therapy were seven times more likely to experience, is a type of stroke that occurs when a blood clot blocks a blood vessel supplying blood to the brain, leading to a lack of blood flow and oxygen to brain tissue. This can cause damage to brain cells and result in various neurological symptoms, such as weakness or paralysis on one side of the body, speech difficulties, and vision problems. 
Patients in the study who had undergone hormone treatment also had six times the increased risk of a serious type of heart attack known as ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), which occurs when there is a complete blockage of one of the major arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. The interruption of blood flow to the heart can cause significant damage to the heart muscle, and if not treated promptly, can be life-threatening.

In the study, the transgender patients who underwent hormone therapy also had five times the increased risk of a pulmonary embolism – a blockage in one of the arteries in the lungs. This can lead to serious health complications, such as damage to the lungs and other organs, and even death.
The researchers suggested that medical and family history should be considered before starting hormone replacement therapy, and individuals considering this therapy should be informed of all the potential risks. They also recommended studying the potential long-term cardiovascular and other health effects of cross-sex hormones, as the use of these therapies becomes more common. The researchers noted that the study had limitations, such as not accounting for the duration of hormone replacement therapy or the age at which it was initiated, and further research was needed to inform clinical decisions.

Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, currently finds himself in the hospital mere weeks into his first term representing the Keystone State. The lawmaker was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fetterman-remains-hospitalized-following-medical-episode-team-gives-update-on-status">hospitalized</a> after feeling lightheaded during a Democratic Senate retreat, then checked himself in for treatment of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senator-fetterman-to-be-hospitalized-for-weeks-after-checking-himself-into-hospital" target="_blank" rel="noopener">severe</a> clinical depression.
Any casual observer of the election which landed Fetterman in the upper chamber of Congress, however, could have seen this story arc months in advance. The former lieutenant governor and rust-belt mayor battled serious health complications throughout the campaign and was pushed across the finish line by the left-wing media and his own family.
Fetterman suffered a stroke and was hospitalized mere days before the Democratic primary for the open Senate seat in Pennsylvania, a race he easily won despite the last-minute health complications. Ramesh Chandra, Fetterman’s cardiologist, later issued a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hell-be-fine-pa-democratic-senate-nominee-cleared-by-doctor-to-campaign-after-suffering-a-stroke-days-before-primary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> clearing him to run for Senate but stating that the nominee had not visited his office for months. “I had prescribed medications along with improved diet and exercise and asked him to follow up again in the following months,” Chandra wrote. “Instead, I did not see him again until yesterday.”
Chandra added that Fetterman’s new pacemaker-defibrillator was “working perfectly” and said “he’ll be fine” to run for office and represent the state of Pennsylvania as long as he “takes his medication, eats healthy, and stays active.” Despite the optimistic outlook on his health, Pennsylvania Democrats grew increasingly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pennsylvania-democrat-john-fetterman-to-end-absence-from-campaign-trail-two-months-after-stroke" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nervous</a> about the longtime Braddock mayor’s absence on the campaign trail. Even as Dr. Mehmet Oz, the state’s Republican Senate nominee, started traveling across the commonwealth for a listening tour, Fetterman made no significant public appearances for several weeks after he was discharged from the hospital.
In his first media interview, Fetterman reported that although he may “miss a word” or “slur two together,” he was “feeling really good” and has “nothing to hide.” The late summer and early fall were nevertheless marked by countless viral videos of Fetterman stuttering, slurring, and losing his train of thought during stump speeches. Questions about Fetterman’s mental acuity mounted as he repeatedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fetterman-promises-he-will-debate-oz-but-does-not-specify-when-and-where" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shirked</a> an invitation to debate Oz.
Even as the misgivings about Fetterman’s health circulated, left-wing media turned a blind eye to the phenomenon. NBC News reporter Dasha Burns faced a deluge of criticism after she conducted an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-senate-candidate-fetterman-forced-to-use-giant-screen-for-interview-this-guys-in-bad-shape" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with Fetterman, observing that he “had trouble finding words” despite his use of a large computer screen and closed captioning system throughout the conversation.
Gisele Fetterman, the wife of John Fetterman, later <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ableist-toward-the-disability-community-john-fettermans-wife-tells-nbc-to-apologize-for-asking-about-his-stroke" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> alongside other members of the media that Burns was “ableist” for noting that her husband has not released his medical records or provided a meaningful update on his recovery. “If this happened in a school, if this was a child that was ableist towards another child or a teacher, there would’ve been issues stated. There would have been new training done,” she commented. “What is being done at the media after a reporter came out so openly ableist towards a person? I think shocked and appalled, but sadly not surprised. I know there’s still so much to do, but it would be great to see some accountability, to actually see real change.”
When the debate with Oz eventually occurred, Fetterman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/confident-oz-and-struggling-fetterman-clash-in-pennsylvania-senate-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">faltered</a> and provided choppy responses despite the inclusion of a closed captioning system positioned behind the moderators. Although most legacy and left-wing outlets were at this point forced to contend with Fetterman’s evident health issues, some persisted in claiming he was suitable for office. One opinion piece in USA Today <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/usa-today-opinion-piece-i-watched-with-pride-and-admiration-as-fetterman-debated-oz-who-belittled-and-bullied-him" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claimed</a> that Fetterman was “brave” as he faced Oz, who purportedly “belittled and bullied” the candidate.
“As I watched Fetterman’s debate performance, I did so with great pride and admiration,” asserted the author, a diversity consultant and fellow stroke victim. “I don’t think it was ‘painful’ to watch him in his debate, as some have suggested. It was a courageous example of a person rising above an obstacle in his path, willing to suffer indignities from people trying to take advantage of his disability as well as simply cruel and ignorant people.”
The supposed empathy exhibited toward Fetterman by his wife and friendly media outlets throughout the election cycle worked: the Democrat soundly defeated his Republican rival by a five-point margin. As Fetterman spends his second month in office hospitalized, however, one must wonder whether his purportedly kindhearted allies truly had his best interests in mind.

In 2018, Lawler suffered a stroke and underwent cardiac arrest on live television in 2012.
The former WWE star previously shared his 50th anniversary in the wrestling ring back in 2020. He was last seen in January when he appeared at WWE&#8217;s Royal Rumble show when he was on the Kickoff Show panel as a commentator.

On the eve of Election Day, a prominent internal medicine doctor pointed out that although the public has focused on Pennsylvania Democratic senatorial candidate John Fetterman’s possible brain impairment from the stroke he had last spring, no one was talking about the cardiac problems associated with it.
Dr. Marc Siegel, from NYU Langone hospital, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6315134624112" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spoke on Fox News</a>.
“We talked about how concerned I am and others are about the impact of this stroke and his comprehension ability and his ability to make decisions and executive function, which he’d have to do daily in office and he’d have to juggle many balls at once,” Siegel told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson. “And a lot of us have a lot of concern about that and have been calling for his records, for transparency, which he hasn’t shown. He’s shown some courage, as we’ve said, but no transparency.”
Then Siegel segued into a discussion of Fetterman’s underlying heart problems, saying, “But you know what we haven’t talked about? We haven’t talked about his heart. And there’s a lot of info about his heart that’s very concerning.”
“In 2017, a real cardiologist saw him, Dr. Ramesh Chandrah in Pittsburgh, who said that his legs were swollen and his heart was weak, and he put him on medication, and you know what Fetterman did?” Siegel asked rherotically. “He didn’t show up to a doctor for five years and he didn’t take that medication. Doctors would all be horrified by that. Instead, he had the stroke and then he went back and saw Dr. Chandra again, and Dr, Chandra got involved and they put a pacemaker in and a defibrillator in.”
“And Fetterman himself has said that his stroke was due to a blood clot from the heart,” Siegel pointed out. “That is very significant &#8230; because a study out of a journal called Stroke, very prominent journal looking at over 6,000 people from Great Britain, has found that if your blood clot comes from the heart, you have more than a 60% chance of either not living for five years or having another stroke within those five years. Greater than 60% chance.”
Siegel concluded, “So I say to the voters of Pennsylvania tonight who are ready to check a box tomorrow, ‘I think before you check a box you should consider a statistic like that: Greater than 60% chance that someone like Fetterman, with a heart in his condition, having had a stroke, will either have a recurrence or won’t survive the term.’”
In October, Dr. Clifford Chen, Fetterman’s doctor, contended his patient was recovering well but still had trouble with “auditory processing.”
“It later emerged that Chen, who works out of a clinic in Duquesne, a suburb of Pittsburgh, had given cash to Fetterman&#8217;s campaign and dozens of other Democrat causes,” The Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11334325/John-Fettermans-doctor-cleared-Senate-hopeful-work-stroke-Democrat-DONOR.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a>.
